Arie Luyendyk Jr. & Lauren Burnham Slammed for Shaming Gym Patrons
Arie Luyendyk Jr. and his beautiful bride-to-be Lauren Burnham have finally found a way to win the admiration of those who resent them.
Just kidding! They’ve decided to use social media to shame people at the gym.
And yes, that includes recording total strangers just so that they could ridicule them. Ugh.
So, following Arie’s brutal breakup with Becca Kufrin … which audiences saw right before being treated to the sight of Arie proposing to Lauren Burnham … Arie and Lauren fled the country.
Those were Arie’s words, partially in jest. The two of them headed off for an Iceland adventure.
They are, in all seriousness, probably having an easier time as a newly engaged couple while in Europe than they would in the U.S. It’s not that other countries don’t watch The Bachelor, but … they’re going to run across fewer haters in Iceland.
(It’s a good thing that they weren’t planning on vacationing in Minnesota, where Arie is banned … sort of)
They might have less luck avoiding haters in Spain, however.
Because Arie and Lauren filmed themselves and some Spanish gym patrons … for the express purpose of ridiculing total strangers who were just minding their own business at the gym.
In his Instagram story, Arie zeroed in on gym-goers who are exercising in brightly colored shorts.
“This is how they work out here in Spain,” Arie says.
He seems totally floored by the clothing.
“What is he wearing?”
And to no one’s surprise, unfortunately, Lauren seems to follow his lead, saying:
“I cannot handle it.”
Anyone else reminded of a certain body-shaming Playmate who snapped a nude pic of an older gym patron just so that she could ridicule the woman’s figure online? Sure, that was nude, but the principle is similar.
One prevailing theory is that this is the couple’s attempt to re-brand themselves as “funny.”
(You might be surprised at how many people in the world think that you can just decide to be funny)
It does seem like the two of them are hoping to be the late Joan Rivers, or possibly the infamous muppet duo Statler and Waldorf.
Instead, their grating sense of “humor” comes across like whoever writes Mike Huckabee’s tweets.
As one fan wrote on reddit:
“He’s trying so hard to craft a narrative for them after the season but just isn’t smart or self-aware enough to successfully pull it off.”
So, if this is a rebranding attempt, they need to … try something else.
Other members of the Bachelor Nation, however, have other theories about what was behind this poorly conceived stab at humor.
This may have had nothing to do with branding, one fan suggests, and may have everything to do with character.
“Um… has anyone thought that maybe he and Lauren are just privileged a–holes?”
That person might be right.
Fans were generally horrified.
“God they are such nasty people. Who makes fun of strangers to their large Instagram followings? Wtf.”
The ire isn’t directed solely at Arie, either. Lauren was part of this, too.
“They are seriously irredeemable.”
A few fans seem to believe that Lauren is actually to blame for this.
“She seems like a mean girl and it really rubs off on him.”
Lauren struck many viewers as a somewhat quiet person and as a follower rather than an instigator.
It’s curious to see people believe that she is guiding Arie’s behavior rather than the other way around.
Bekah Martinez, who got to know Arie pretty darn well, assessed that Arie prefers to be in charge in his relationships.
But maybe they’re both insensitive jerks.

The cast members of Floribama Shore are eager to emerge from the shadows of the cast members of Jersey Shore, and that’s why they will go to extreme measures to prove they are worthy of making good TV.
On Floribama Shore Season 1 Episode 3, Nilsa was still pursuing Jeremiah, but he had another woman in his sights: Kayla Jo.
This sent Nilsa on a downward spiral which resulted in her calling her ex-husband for some assistance in what to do in the situation.
Codi, who has been trying to get closer to Nilsa since he laid eyes on her was not impressed by her actions and took issue with her body.
“Maybe you want [your ex] to buy you some more a— implants, or fake eyebrows?” he yelled in a disgusting rant that proved he was no good.
Nilsa then started saying that her vagina was “made of steel.” As if that was not bad enough, she started spreading her legs on the couch to show it off to the whole world.
“He could f—ing beat this s— to the ground. You could put this s— in its grave, and it would still be left standing. The autopsy guy would stop and be like, That thing is still alive!”
Um, alright, then.
Kirk was sleeping on the other couch, but Nilsa woke him up with her crazy actions.
“Nilsa, usually, could probably get whatever she wants,” he wondered. “But Jeremiah really isn’t feeling her that much, so I feel like she really is just acting a fool. Straight up.”
After spending the night, Kayla Jo made Jeremiah breakfast and everything. Maybe she’s a keeper.
Meanwhile, Aimee revealed to the audience that she absolutely hates doing any work.
“I dread work every day,” she dished. “I’m biting my tongue until I can become a trophy wife, because that is my dream job.”
After a bust-up with Kirk, Aimee thought it would be a good idea to show off her lack of culinary skills to her friends.
“I grew up super poor,” she admitted. “This is like, kind of embarrassing, but I don’t know how to cook fancy.”
But she did know how to cook taco soup, so there’s that.
The cast then headed out to the bar for some dollar draft beers, and the drama went into overdrive.
A local decided that Nilsa was all over the place as a person and needed to dial it back before it was too late.
“You’re beautiful, you just need to stop acting like it,” he said.
“You just like, strive for attention. You’d actually get it if you just shut your mouth.”
This did not sit well with Nilsa who started wailing, and before long, it descended into a big bust up in the street with everyone seemingly involved.
Wait, Jeremiah watched from a distance. This is going to get interesting!

The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 8 Episode 4 Recap: The Public Shaming of Melissa
Danielle Staub is back, but is she the root of all the drama?
That became the biggest storyline on The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 8 Episode 4 when she revealed some shocking details to Teresa about Dolores.
Dolores allegedly said that all Teresa cares about is money and that Danielle would be wise to steer clear of her. Danielle thrives on some drama, so she dished the goodies to Teresa.
Teresa was mad, and she thought it made sense because of the way Dolores has kept her distance from her over the last few weeks.
If you watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey online, you will know that Dolores has been too busy following Siggy around to bother with the other women on the show.
Teresa wasted no time in dragging Dolores for her alleged comments, and Dolores went straight for the jugular with Danielle.
“Welcome back, Scumbag!” she barked at her new enemy as she tried to clear her name. Teresa did not know who to believe, but a part of her was saying that Danielle was telling the truth.
Dolores called Danielle a liar, a “crazy person,” and a“starving, hungry bitch.” She then tried to diagnose Danielle’s multitude of problems and said that it was no coincidence that Danielle returned and things got bad between the women.
Danielle started bawling like a baby and made a swift exit with Teresa and Melissa. If Danielle is here to cause the drama, she can stay. This episode was crazy!
Then there was Siggy who thought inviting all the women to her cocktail party would continue to repair their fractured friendships. However, things took a crazy turn when Siggy ambushed Melissa about throwing the cake.
“In a million years I wouldn’t take a beautiful cake like that and throw it across the floor,” Siggy yelled. Melissa was shocked but asked to buy her another cake to shut her up.
Siggy then asked every single person whether Melissa acted wrongly and they all sided with Siggy. This was yet another moment that proved these women are going to be fighting until the bitter end.
Elsewhere, Teresa and Melissa are starting to fight again, and part of the reason is that Joe bought the restaurant without consulting Melissa about it. Melissa learned that she was the last person to know and that did not go down well with her.
The ladies bickered when they met with Joe to speak about running the restaurant. Melissa claimed she would not be doing anything that would involve getting her hands dirty.
So, it looks like Melissa and Teresa are going to be feuding once again. Would we have it any other way?

Ariana Grande Speaks Out Against Slut Shaming, Is A Total Queen
How great is Ariana Grande? The greatest, right?
Sure, she’s had her problems — who could forget the great donut-licking scandal, or her general diva shenanigans?
But when push comes to shove, when it really matters, Ariana can come through with some real loveliness.
And that’s what she’s doing now.
Yesterday, we talked about this sad story Ariana told about how she was objectified by some fan of her boyfriend, Mac Miller.
She said that Mac’s fan, some “young boy,” saw them while they were out and he followed them to their car.
“I thought all of this was cute and exciting,” she recalled, “until he said ‘Ariana is sexy as hell man, I see you, I see you hitting that!!!!"”
Poor Ariana admitted that her ordeal might not be “a big deal” to some, but that she felt “sick and objectified.”
“I’ve felt really quiet and hurt since that moment,” she said. “Things like that happen all the time and are the kind of moments that contribute to women’s sense of fear and inadequacy.”
Queen Ariana declared that she’s not “a piece of meat that a man gets to utilize for his pleasure,” and that she’s sad that so many people have such an easy time objectifying women.
“I felt like speaking out about this one experience tonight because I know very well that most women know the sensation of being spoken about in an uncomfortable way publicly by a man,” she said.
“We need to talk about these moments openly because they are harmful and they live on inside us as shame.”
“We need to share and be vocal when something makes us feel uncomfortable because if we don’t, it will just continue.”
“We are not objects or prizes,” she concluded. “We are QUEENS.”
Like we said, she’s the greatest.
Unfortunately, not everyone can be as wise as Ariana on this subject. When she posted her story, she got flooded with comments about how she dresses provocatively, she can get kind of racy, so what happened is her fault.
What a bunch of nonsense, right? But don’t worry, because our girl shut that mess down QUICK.
She hopped back on Twitter to explain that “Women expressing sexuality is often mistaken for ‘hi come disrespect me!!!!’ .. & that’s just not the case.”
“Women (and men) can express themselves however they’d like !!! even loving sex!! this is not an invitation to be disrespected.”
When asked how Mac Miller reacted to the guy, she said “Although this isn’t about his reaction, he drove the f-ck away !! he is a sweet bear & I am falling asleep feeling safe & loved.”
But then she really took us to church.
“Seeing a lot of ‘but look how you portray yourself in videos and in your music! you’re so sexual!"” she wrote. “Please hold .. next tweet… I repeat …”
“Expressing sexuality in art is not an invitation for disrespect !!! just like wearing a short skirt is not asking for assault.”
“Women’s choice. ♡ our bodies, our clothing, our music, our personalities….. sexy, flirty, fun. it is not. an open. invitation.”
“You are literally saying that if we look a certain way, we are yours to take. But we are not !!! It’s our right to express ourselves.”
What did we ever do to deserve such a glorious, truth-telling lady?

Jennifer Aniston: Stop Shaming My Divorce, Nipples!
Jennifer Aniston is sick of other people talking about her.
And writing about her. And pitying her and shaming her and making her feel bad for any of the decisions she has made in her life.
And she’s finally doing something about it.
Back in July, the 47-year old actress penned an op-ed for The Huffington Post in which she blasted the “business of lies” that has cropped up around her.
Irritated over the constant pregnancy chatter that seems to engulf her every move and every word, Aniston earned universal praise at the time for standing up both for herself and for women everywhere.
“I’m fed up with the sport-like scrutiny and body-shaming that occurs daily,” Aniston wrote this summer, adding:
“If I am some kind of symbol to some people out there, then clearly I am an example of the lens through which we, as a society, view our mothers, daughters, sisters, wives, female friends and colleagues.
“The objectification and scrutiny we put women through is absurd and disturbing.”
Amen, right?
Preach on, no?
Aniston got divorced from Brad Pitt in 2005.
Since then, she’s taken the high road at every opportunity, never bad-mouthing Pitt or saying a word about his marriage to Angelina Jolie.
Or his divorce from Angelina Jolie, despite what you may have read.
And yet still. The press wonders if Aniston is pregnant… wonders if she’s happy in her marriage… actually wonders if she’ll go back to Pitt.
In the latest issue of Marie Claire, Aniston explains why she spoke out in such a manner.
“My marital status has been shamed; my divorce status was shamed; my lack of a mate had been shamed; my nipples have been shamed,” she says.
“It’s like, ‘Why are we only looking at women through this particular lens of picking us apart? Why are we listening to it?"”
After 30 years as an actress, Aniston says she couldn’t sit idly by any longer while critics and tabloids talked trash and made up rumors.
“I just thought, ‘I have worked too hard in this life and this career to be whittled down to a sad, childless human,"” she said.
Aniston, of course, is married to Justin Theroux these days. And she couldn’t be more content; once again, despite what you may have read.
“Why is he the right person for me?” the actress asks/explains.
“All I know is that I feel completely seen, and adored, in no matter what state. There’s no part of me that I don’t feel comfortable showing, exposing.
“And it brings forth the best part of myself, because I care about him so much. And he’s such a good person. It hurts me to think of anything hurting him.”
Will Aniston have kids at some point?
We’re not about to ask.
But what does her future look like in general?
“This is a time when I’m not completely sure what I’m doing. I’m at this sort of crossroads trying to figure out what inspires me deep in my core,” she tells the magazine.
“What used to make me tick is not necessarily making me tick anymore. The most challenging thing right now is trying to find what it is that makes my heart sing.”
