Dancing With the Stars Season 24: First Cast Members Announced!

One is known for being tough.

The other is known for being limber.

But both will soon be known for something they have in common:

A burning desire to win the Mirrorball Trophy on Season 24 of Dancing with the Stars.

abc logo dancing

Indeed, Entertainment Tonight has confirmed the first two cast members for the upcoming season of everyone’s favorite reality competition.

And the first will be… Mr. T!

The former A-Team star and movie star has not been on any type of screen since 2014.

He’s remained relatively quiet on social media as well, but an insider tells ET that “production has been trying to get Mr. T for years,” adding:

“He will be a great contestant this season.”

The 64-year old certainly fits the mold: he’s a mostly washed-up Z-Listers with name recognition and no other real entertainment options these days.

By which we mean no offense! Those are just mostly facts. We think Mr. T is a terrific choice.

The second confirmed contestant, meanwhile, has been identified as… Simone Biles!

The Gold Medal-winning gymnast from the 2016 Summer Olympics told ET in August that she wasn’t able to join the program last year due to her schedule.

However, she made it clear that she “would love” to participate in a future season, even picking out her dream partner in an interview with the outlet.

“If I could do the spring season, I would love to do that,” Biles said at the time, meaning her dream is now coming true.

She added:

“I think [I’d like to dance with] Sasha [Farber]. I think it would be cool to be with Sasha.”

The pressure will be on for Biles, too, because her Olympic teammate Laurie Hernandez took home the DWTS gold just a few months ago.

The new Dancing with the Stars season premieres on March 20 on ABC.

No other celebrities have been announced for the cast yet, but expect plenty of rumors over the next few weeks, along with the eventual casting of some Real Housewife, some athlete and and some ex-Playboy centerfold.

Those are at least a few of the boxes producers try to check each season.

On Tuesday, pros Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd announced they’ll be returning for season 24, after welcoming their son, Shai, in January.

“I’m definitely a little bit nervous but I’m very excited to get back,” Murgatroyd said on Good Morning America. “I’ve definitely missed the dance floor. I haven’t been able to defend my title with Nyle [DiMarco].”

Added Chmerkovskiy, joking about his fiancee:

“I just want to make her coming back and winning as difficult as possible. Yeah, somebody has to pose some competition.”

Which other stars do YOU want to see take part on the show this spring?

Gisele Celebrates Patriots Victory with Dancing, Screaming, Extreme Selfie-Taking

The New England Patriots may have won Super Bowl LI on Sunday night.

But Gisele Bundchen has won the Internet.

As a result of brand new and stunning Gisele photos that feature this model in a state of undress?

Nope. As a result of her over-the-top reaction to the Patriots’ shocking victory.

Gisele can be forgiven for her response, of course.

New England somehow managed to overcome a 25-point second half deficit in defeating the Atlanta Falcons, doing so by a final score of 34-28 in overtime.

And Gisele’s husband, someone named Tom Brady, threw for a Super Bowl-record 466 yards upon winning his fifth title and fourth Super Bowl MVP award.

So you can understand why Gisele was dancing all around, patting her heart and flashing five fingers to the crowd and the field shortly after New England’s victory:

Brady and Bundchen are the parents of a four-year old named Vivian and a seven-year old named Benjamin.

Brady also is father to a nine-year old son named John with his ex-girlfriend, actress Bridget Moynahan.

Prior to the big game, Gisele shared the following photo of Vivian on Instagram, captioning the sweet snapshot as follows:

“Bom dia! Game day! #superbowl #daddyslittlegirl.”

Gisele and other female relatives of Brady donned the same “Brady’s Ladies” t-shirt on Sunday, posing for pictures online alongside Galynn Brady, the quarterback’s mother who has been suffering from an undisclosed illness.

Brady said before the Super Bowl that he was dedicating the game to his mom.

So it’s hard to make too much fun of Gisele for how excited she got upon the Patriots winning, even if she did spin all around and film herself screaming up a storm from insider her stadium suite.

See for yourself:

“Congratulations my love! @tombrady #gopats Parabéns meu amor! @tombrady,” Gisele wrote as a caption to a photo of the couple two weeks ago, after Brady and the Patriots knocked off the Steelers to advance to the Super Bowl.

Now that they’ve won?

Now that Brady has solidified his status as the greatest quarterback of all-time and probably the greatest football player of all-time?

We can’t imagine what Gisele will write online…

… or what she’ll do to Brady behind closed doors.

If you know what we mean!

Seriously, is Tom Brady the luckiest person on the face of the planet or what?!?

Nick Viall: Bring on Dancing with the Stars!

Nick Viall has his eyes on the prize.

A beautiful wife who he can grow old with and have lots of kids with and sit and drink lemonade with on the porch when he’s 85 years old?

HA! No, of course not.

Nick Viall has his eyes on the prize of this season of The Bachelor leading to even more fame and fortune, starting with a role on another ABC reality show.

Over the weekend, Viall was asked by Entertainment Tonight whether he’d have interest in participating on Dancing with the Stars.

He responded by acting all shocked and almost confused by Nancy O’Dell’s question, prior to admitting that he’d totally be down to do it.

“I mean, I haven’t given it much thought. I think it would be fun, you know?” Viall replied. “Who wouldn’t wanna do it?”

Viall continued:

“Right now I am focused on being The Bachelor. [But] if they asked… I don’t think I would say my first thought wouldn’t be no, but I think anyone would feel lucky to even be considered.”

Easy there, Nick.

We’re just talking about Dancing with the Stars here. Not the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Viall, of course, lives in Los Angeles.

He’s basically trying to make it as an actor, so it’s rather hilarious to hear him dismiss further entertainment opportunities as though they aren’t ALL HE’S THINKING ABOUT AT ALL TIMES.

He told ET that he isn’t “actively thinking about the Hollywood route,” focusing instead these days on his own business and, we presume, on banging as many Bachelor contestants as he can.

“I think I would be open to any great opportunity,” he said.

“I never thought I’d go back on Paradise or The Bachelorette or The Bachelor, but I think I have learned in life that it is best to sit back and let things come your way, and take each situation on its own.

“And if you think that it could be a great opportunity, then I think that is great and I am no different.”

Over the years, quite a few The Bachelor and The Bachelorette stars have shimmied and shaken on Dancing with the Stars.

These competitors have included Trista Sutter, Melissa Rycroft, Jake Pavelka, Sean Lowe and Chris Soules.

None has gone on to win the Mirrorball Trophy.

As for which females will manage to win over Viall over the next few weeks?

You can visit our section of The Bachelor spoilers to see who advances to the fabled final four.

Do you want to see Nick Viall on Dancing with the Stars?

Do you think it’s cool or lame that ABC creates its own so-called celebrities via The Bachelor and then uses them to promote other reality shows as well?

And can we all at least agree that Corinne Olympios should NOT receive an invitation to dance with any stars? Ever?

She sucks! Down with Corinne Olympios!

Laurie Hernandez -- CHA CHA CHING! ... I Made a Fortune On "Dancing!"

It really pays to go the distance on “Dancing with the Stars” — just ask U.S. Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez … who just made a TON OF CASH on her way to winning the Mirrorball Trophy. Since Laurie is only 16 … producers had to get a judge to…

Laurie Hernandez on Dancing with the Stars Win: It"s Like a Gold Medal!

Laurie Hernandez has won Dancing with the Stars.

Oh, sorry: SPOILER ALERT!

It’s true, however, that the gymnast defeated a pair of other athletes on Tuesday night to claim the iconic Mirrorball Trophy alongside professional partner Val Chmerkovskiy.

Of course, Hernandez won a Gold Medal at the Summer Olympics just a few months ago.

So there’s no way this reality show-based honor can possibly compete with that previous accomplishment.

Right?

“Honestly, I feel like they tied (with) each other,” Hernandez told USA Today of winning Dancing with the Stars and winning the highest prize one can win as an American athlete.

This seems like a stretch, but hey:

We’ve never won a Gold Medal or a Dancing with the Stars season. So what the heck do we know?!?

“The Olympics, as a little kid, it was such a big goal that I created for myself and I was able to push through and make that happen,” she explained, adding of how DWTS compares:

“I’ve always loved to dance and my passion was dancing as well as gymnastics, so winning the Mirrorball was insane and amazing.”

Hernandez knocked off James Hinchcliffe (and Sharna Burgess) and Calvin Johnson (and Lindsay Arnold) to claim the Season 23 title.

In July, meanwhile, she helped her team win women’s all-around team competition in Rio and also took home a Silver Medal in the balance beam.

Not a bad year, huh?

Aside from showing off extreme dancing talent, Hernandez also wore her emotions on her sequined-sleeves at many points during the competition.

As you can see in the video posted above, she broke down in front of the judges after dedicating a routine a couple weeks ago to her late grandmother.

Chmerkovskiy, who has now come out on top of Dancing with the Stars twice, said he finds Hernandez very inspiring.

He just hopes that others, most notably young fans and viewers, do as well.

“I wanted to set an example through her … for her generation that anything is possible,” Chmerkovskiy told the newspaper. “To stay hungry, to stay humble, she’s a testament to that.”

Hernandez agreed.

She isn’t backing away from the pressure or expectations.

“I do want to inspire others…When I was a little kid, I looked up to other people, so I hope I can inspire little kids,” she said.

She’s off to a great start, that’s for certain!

Do you think Hernandez deserved to win Dancing with the Stars? Where does she rank among all-time champions?

And has any celebrity has a better 2016 than Laurie Hernandez?!? WOW!

Weigh in below with your thoughts, opinions and comments.

Dancing With the Stars Results: And the Winner Is ...

For Dancing With the Stars’ Season 23 competitors, it was the night they had been dreaming about since selection Monday this summer.

The final three remaining celebrities gave it everything they had, with a spot in the pantheon of Mirror Ball trophy winners on the line.

Jana Kramer’s elimination left just a trio of stars standing with an opportunity to claim the coveted title of DWTS champion. They are:

1. Calvin Johnson (and Lindsay Arnold)

2. Laurie Hernandez (and Val Chmerkovskiy)

3. James Hinchliffe (and Sharna Burgess)

We kicked things off with all of the participants performing a dance routine. It was great and brought everyone together again.

After some encore performances, Maksim Chmerkovskiy took to the stage with the ladies as they danced away to “Women Up.”

The final 3 had to make one last ditch effort to make sure they would win the whole thing.

Let’s get on to their performances…

James and Sharna went with a Viennese Waltz Foxtrot and it was another stellar performance for them.

All of the judges were blown away and made it clear they were impressed by the growth in the duo over the course of the season.

Score 40/40!

Calvin and Lindsay then took to the dance floor and performed a jive and quickstep.

The judges couldn’t help but praise the performance and called it one of their best. Carrie Ann even went as far as saying Calvin makes the world a better place when he dances. Okay then.

Score: 40/40!

Finally, Laurie and Val took to the dance floor to dance Foxtrot Argentine Tango. It was another perfect score, with all of the judges handing out the highest numbers.

Maybe they only had the one score to give tonight, or something.

Score 40/40!

After all of the random dances, recapping the season and showing just how well Ryan Lochte performed, we thought it was time for the end of the show. However, Jana Kramer treated us to her hit single “Circles.” It was another treat.

When that was all said and done, we found out who the winner was.

Laurie Hernandez and Val won Season 23 of Dancing With the Stars!

What did you think of the season finale?

Are you happy with the winner?

Dancing With the Stars Recap: It Has All Come Down to THIS

It has all come down to this, Dancing With the Stars fans.

The top four remaining celebs gave it everything they had on Monday, with a spot in the pantheon of Mirror Ball trophy winners on the line.

Who took a major step toward reality TV immortality?!

First up, all of the couples were at the mercy of the judges, who chose their dances.

Calvin Johnson and Lindsay Arnold

We kicked things off with this duo performing the Vienesse Waltz. If you recall, they previously danced to the Vienesse Waltz in Week 3 and got less than stellar scores.

This time, however, it was clear the pair had upped their game and the judges took note of it. Len seemed to think it was the most improved dance out of the final and the scores from all the judges reflected the improvement.

Score: 35/40!

Jana Kramer and Gleb Savchenko

The former One Tree Hill star and her dance partner danced the Tango and got a good response from the judges. The judges made it clear it was evident how far Jana has come throughout the competition and that she has been taking all the feedback on board.

Score: 35/40!

Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy

The judges chose Paso Doble for the dance, after the couple failed to gain much traction when they did it in Week 5. The judges collectively agreed that the pair had managed to go from strength-to-strength and wow them. They did look like they were really into it.

Score: 38/40!

James Hinchliffe and Sharna Burgess

The judges went with a Foxtrot for this duo and as you probably know if you’ve been glued to the show this year, the couple are definitely the best dancers on the show. Everything about their performances just works so well and the judges took not of this in the comments.

Score: 39/40!

After that, we moved on to the freestyle dances and things got more difficult for all of the couples still in the competition.

Jana and Gleb

The duo opted for contemporary dance to try and win their way to the end. The difficult part was that they danced their routine with a piece of cloth connecting them. The judges were blown away by the performance, but didn’t hand out a perfect score.

Score: 36/40!

Calvin and Lindsay

This duo really went to town with their performance, throwing each other around the dance floor and the judges loved it.

Score: 40/40!

Laurie and Val

This duo went with a playground theme for their performance and it seemed they seemed to hit the right moves to make the judges give them a perfect score.

Score: 40/40!

James and Sharna

James and Sharna went with a very personal freestyle that linked back to a car crash that nearly killed James. The judges raved about it and haned out another perfect score.

Jana and Gleb were eliminated from the competition!

Who do you want to see win the show?

Sound off below!

Dancing with the Stars Pros: RANKED!

Over the course of 23  seasons of Dancing with the Stars, over 40 professional dancers have lent their skills to teach celebrity partners and compete for the Mirror Ball trophy.

We"ve chosen the top 30 of all of those pros, and ranked them from worst (or you know, just not well-known) to the very best. See where your favorite landed on our list below!

30. Jenna Johnson

Jenna johnson photo

Jenna Johnson is a brand new pro, so we haven’t had much time to get to know her yet — especially since she and her partner were eliminated in the first week of the competition.

29. Ashly Costa

Buzz aldrin and ashly costa

Also known as Ashley DelGrosso, she competed for four seasons on Dancing with the Stars. Her first year, she made it to third place with partner Joey McIntyre. In Season 10, she was paired with Buzz Aldrin.

28. Gleb Savchenko

Gleb savchenko photo

Gleb isn’t brand new, but we still don’t know him well just yet. He competed on Season 16 of Dancing with the Stars with Lisa Vanderpump, and is back for the second time now on Season 23.

27. Keo Motsepe

Chaka khan and keo motsepe

Keo has competed on four seasons of Dancing with the Stars so far, but unfortunately, was eliminated in the first round… twice. Most recently, he was paired with Jodie Sweetin in Season 22. The couple made it to 6th place.

26. Corky Ballas

Florence henderson and corky ballas

Corky Ballas actually trained several of the professionals on Dancing with the Stars, then joined the show himself in Seasons 7 and 11. He was paired with Cloris Leachman and Florence Henderson.

25. Sasha Farber

Sasha farber photo

Sasha Farber is not only a great dancer, but he’s also a lot of fun to have on the show. He’s also full of surprises… like proposing to another pro during a live show! Congrats, Sasha and Emma!

Dancing with the Stars Results: It"s War on the Floor!

This week on Dancing with the Stars, the remaining celebrities (term used loosely) duked it out with a spot in the semifinals at stake.

Who continued to emerge as contenders? Who was sweating it out and worried about their fate with the Dancing with the Stars results?

It was “Eras Night” on the hit ABC series, but did all of the contestants do enough to at least make us think they knew what they were doing?

We’ll run down all of the performances of the night…

Laurie Hernandez and Valentin Valentin Chmerkovskiy – 1960s

Laurie and Val opted to quickstep to “One Fine Day” by The Chiffons. Val was quick to point out that their version of the 1960s was not the hippie/anti-government one. Laurie didn’t seem to have a clue what that meant, but it didn’t matter.

Surprisingly, the performance was rather energetic and it proved that the duo deserve their place in the competition.

Score: 34/40.

Ryan Lochte and Cheryl Burke – 1990s

America’s favorite liar, Ryan and his partner, Cheryl went with “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” by Aerosmith. As much as the song most definitely feels like a pillar of the 1990s, the performance left a lot to be desired.

The duo have the whole chemistry thing sorted, but they need to work a little better on their choreography if they have any hope of eking out a win.

Score: 27/40.

Marilu Henner and Derek Hough – 1920s

Marilu and Derek strutted their stuff to “Never Forget You” by Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox feat. Addie Hamilton. Marilu once worked on a production of Chicago, so she has done some 1920s stuff before.

However, the judges were quick to point out that some of the stuff was out of synch. Ouch.

Score: 29/40.

Calvin Johnson Jr. and Lindsay Arnold – 1950s

Calvin and Lindsay jived away to “Good Golly Miss Molly” by Little Richard. This couple are definitely one of the best couples to ever grace the ballroom. This energetic performance solidified that.

There was a glaring issue: Due to a football injury, Calvin struggled with the jive, but Lindsay helped him out and the judges took notice of it.

Score: 36/40.

Maureen McCormick and Artem Chigvintsev – 1980s

This couple opted to tango to “You Give Love A Bad Name” By Bon Jovi. Artem went all out in his quest to ensure he looked like someone from the 1980s. This involved a wealth of guyliner. There was even a huge brick of a cell phone. Remember those?

The judges were quick to point out that Maureen started the routine very well, but her performance quickly faltered.

Score: 28/40.

Terra Jolé and Sasha Farber – 1930s

This couple danced to “Cheek To Cheek” by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. Terra was down after falling to the bottom of the leaderboard, but Sasha reeled in her husband and two kids to help give her the motivation to further them in the competition.

Terra was definitely back in her comfort zone throughout the performance and it showed. The couple got positive response from the judges.

Score: 34/40.

Jana Kramer and Gleb Savchenko – 1970s

Jana and Gleb danced to “Get Down Tonight” by KC and the Sunshine Band. After scoring a perfect 40 last week, the couple knew they would need to up their game to remain close to that number. Jana struggled to work under the pressure. She was scared she would ruin the performance.

The judges were somewhat disappointed with the end result, but they couple still managed to get a decent score.

Score: 34/40.

James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess – 1940s

James and Sharna danced to “In The Mood” by Glenn Miller and His Orchestra. Admittedly, the two of them are very cute together and have better chemistry than the other couples. Poor Sharna injured herself during rehearsals, but James did his thing and helped her through it.

The judges were surprisingly okay with some of the adjustments to the routine.

Score: 36/40.

When the performances were all over with, it was time for the Team Dance Challenge.

Laurie and James were made team captains due to their highest cumulative scores.

Team Past: James and Sharna, Maureen and Artem, Ryan and Cheryl, Calvin and Lindsay

Team Past seemed like they were going to come out of it as the runner up, but even with all the things that went wrong in the rehearsals, they still managed to eke out a win.

Team Score: 38/40.

Team Future: Laurie and Val, Marilu and Derek, Terra and Sasha, Jana and Gleb

The ladies joined forces and worked with the theme of an apocalyptic young-adult novel. There was some tension throughout rehearsal as the ladies tried to adjust to the hectic schedules.

The judges collectively agreed that Team Past were better.

Team Score: 35/40.

When that was all said and done, James/Sharna and Calvin/Lindsay were tied at the top of the leaderboard.

Maureen/Artem and Jana/Gleb were the two teams in jeopardy. As you can probably expect, Maureen and Artem were the ones to go.

Amber Rose Bids Farewell to Dancing with the Stars, Maksim Chmerkovskiy

SPOILER ALERT:

Amber Rose is no longer Dancing with the Stars.

The model/talk show host/ex-girlfriend of Kanye West/lover of masturbation for unusual reasons was eliminated from the ABC competition last night.

But it doesn’t sound like Rose is bitter.

She isn’t making like Donald Trump any longer and claiming that the results are rigged.

Instead, Rose is merely grateful for the opportunity, most notably for being teamed up with attractive professional Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

Soon after her elimination on Monday evening, Rose penned a heartfelt note to Chmerkovskiy on Instagram.

“Although our time was cut short@maksimc I’m so happy I had the chance to experience this with you!” the 32-year-old wrote alongside a photo of the partner striking a silly pose together (below).

Added Amber:

“You truly are my brother for life! Who knew we would become so close in such a short amount of time? Thank you for not giving up on me and getting to know the real me with no judgment I’ll love you forever for that reason and I’ll always have ur back through whatever.

“I’ll miss our stressed out rehearsals more then anything tho Love Amberony.”

And the feelings of affection and respect appear to be mutual.

Here is how Chmerkovskiy responded to Rose’s sweet words:

“My dearest Amberony!

“Thank you for some of the best weeks of my @dancingabc career! You’ve not let me down and only made me more and more proud each week.

“You’ve become a friend and an older sister (although you’re younger….you know what I mean :)), and this is definitely just the beginning of ‘Amber and Maks."”

The mover and shaker wasn’t even done.

He concluded as follows:

“This experience got cut short and I wish we would have just a few more weeks, but it happened exactly as it were meant to and I have absolutely no regrets.

“The world has yet to see what you can really do and I can’t wait to be in your corner when it does…. Love, Me.”

Before anyone makes any sort of comment about how these two need to get a room, keep in mind:

Chmerkovskiy is expecting a baby with his fiancee, Peta Murgatroyd.

And soon after the elimination news was announced on the show, he declared:

“I’m ready for diaper duty.”

As you can see above, Rose performed some memorable routines during her run on Dancing with the Stars.

It helped expose her to more of a mainstream audience than usual, which will be considered a win for Rose in the long run.

We’ll see what this means for the rest of her career, as we await to discover how Amber capitalizes on the attention.

Until then, we’re guessing she’ll pose for a few more selfies on Instagram.

Dancing with the Stars Results: Who Went Hard? Who Went Home?

This week on Dancing with the Stars, the remaining contenders battled for survival after an emotional, non-elimination effort last time.

Who continued to emerge as contenders? Who was sweating it out as the Dancing with the Stars results loomed at the end of the evening?

Guest judge Pitbull charmed with high scores on Latin night, but there was an elimination on the line, and someone had to go home.

Who would it be? Let’s find out …

Jana Kramer and Gleb Savchenko were so hot, Bruno fell out of his chair and the rest of the judges were nearly at a loss for words.

Real chemistry, people.

Carrie Ann said that they went at it “as if she were going to take that Mirrorball Trophy,” and Pitbull invited Jana to strip out of her dress.

She declined, which was the only blemish in an otherwise perfect night for Jana, who tallied the maximum 40 out of 40 points on Monday.

That 40 was good enough for first place outright; James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess dazzled with a rumba that earned them a 38.

Like Jana, James claimed he had trouble channeling his sexy side, but to deal with this obstacle, he created an alter ego named Ricardo.

As Ricardo, James felt more at ease keeping things hot and heavy, and all we can say is that whatever it takes man. Keep it coming.

Julianne said Hinchcliffe is “hands down the best male dancer” they’ve ever had on the show, which could be a reach … but he was great.

Ryan Lochte? Not as much.

Loch Mess compared learning the fast steps of the salsa to taking the SATs, which we can’t for the life of us picture him studying for.

Maybe that’s his point.

Praised by the judges for how much he committed to the routine artistically, there wasn’t any real musicality … or dancing to be honest.

Terra Jole and Sasha Farber struggled as well on the paso doble, as she couldn’t quite muster the fierce side that really drove it home.

Julianne said it wasn’t her best dance; Carrie Ann said she was “one-dimensional,” Pitbull said may have overthought it, and so forth.

Elsewhere in this week of competition …

Calvin Johnson and Lindsay Arnold, as well as Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy, tied at 37, claiming a share of third place.

Marilu Henner and Derek Hough put up 34 points, while Maureen McCormick and Artem Chigvintsev posted a 31, solidly in the middle.

Amber Rose and Maksim Chmerkovskiy slid down a bit with a 28, and while they weren’t in the bottom two, they were the ones eliminated.

“It was such an amazing experience,” she said.

“People don’t know this about me, but I’m really shy in a lot of ways, and I think that showed on the ballroom floor. I tried my best.”

“Thank you so much for having me here.”

What do you think? Did the judges and the voters get it right in sending Amber home? Or should someone else have been cut loose?

Who do you think is poised to win it all?

Right now, our money is on Jana Kramer, who looks 100 percent locked in, but James could easily give her a run for the top spot too.

The saga continues next Monday!

Jana Kramer Dedicates Emotional Dancing With The Stars Performance to Daughter Jolie

It hasn’t been easy ride for Jana Kramer.

The One Tree Hill star and country singer endured an abuse marriage in 2005.

Then in 2015, she thought she had married her soul mate, former NFL star Mike Caussin.

When it was revealed that Caussin had cheated on her, Kramer made the decision to leave him.

Now, Kramer is competing for the mirror ball trophy on this season of Dancing With The Stars, and she’s focused not only on winning, but on herself and her daughter, Jolie.

Last night, the theme was Most Memorable Year, and Kramer decide to select 2016, since Jolie was born on January 31st, 2016.

“This week, it’s most memorable year, and mine is 2016, because I had my baby girl,” Kramer said on last night’s episode.

“I feel like I’m the strongest I’ve been my entire life. She’s given me the strength I didn’t know I would have.”

Kramer touched on her first marriage to Michael Gambino, who went to jail for attempted murder.

“And I’ve been in bad situations where I’ve let people take that from me.

“Ten years ago, I was in an abusive relationship. It was the worst time of my life. He went to jail for attempted murder on me,” Kramer explained.

“It’s been a very heavy secret to hold for so many years. The situation ten years ago broke me. It took having Jolie to piece together every single broken part of me.”

Gambino was released in 2010, and two years later he committed suicide.

Kramer and partner Gleb Savchenko danced to Martina McBride’s “In My Daughter’s Eyes.”

Kramer even Facetimed McBride herself to share her song selection.

“I never want my daughter to ever go through the things I went through, or question that she’s not good enough, Kramer said.

“And I want my daughter to know that no man should ever put their hands on her. Because she’s beautiful.”

Dancing with the Stars Recap: Is It Dusty in Here or ... ?!

Is it dusty in here or is it just us? No, it’s just Dancing with the Stars’ annual “My Most Memorable Year” week, a guaranteed fan favorite.

Too bad someone had to be eliminated after that. Oh, wait!

The celebrity dancers all performed moving, heartfelt routines inspired by significant moments in their lives, and everyone was safe!

What’s the opposite of adding insult to injury?!

Let’s break down Monday night’s dances …

Maureen McCormick and Artem Chigvintsev – Foxtrot

Maureen married her husband in 1985, and she said she wasn’t going to cry about it. Wishful thinking, but we don’t blame her.

As a dancing love letter to her husband, it was incredibly effective, as she translated her acting skills into dance for the first time.

Score: 24/30.

Calvin Johnson Jr. and Lindsay Arnold – Jazz

Set to “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” the pair paid tribute to 2012, when Lindsay graduated high school. Yes, she’s that young.

Also that year, Megatron broke Jerry Rice’s single season NFL record for receptions … and Rice actually paid a visit to the show!

As for the routine, it was more than passable (get it?). “It looks like you just stepped out of the Motown charm school,” said Bruno.

Score: 24/30

Jana Kramer and Gleb Savchenko – Contemporary

For Jana, it was an easy choice. She danced to “In My Daughter’s Eyes” by Martina McBride to celebrate her most memorable year.

This year! When the actress and singer gave birth to her daughter! This one was very pretty and really heartfelt, and the results showed it.

Score: 26/30

Ryan Lochte and Cheryl Burke – Contemporary

Loch Mess’ most memorable year was 2008, when he made his Olympics debut, and he was a lot better at swimming than dancing.

This is still the case in 2016, yet it was also his most open and honest dance, which may have contributed to some extremely generous scores.

Score: 24/30

Laurie Hernandez and Valentin Chmerkovskiy – Paso Doble

Set to “Rise” by Katy Perry, their routine also paid tribute to good old 2016 like Jana. For Laurie, it’s also understandable why.

While Kramer gave birth to her baby daughter, Hernandez earned a gold medal at the Rio Olympics this summer in gymnastics.

Personal and powerful, Laurie may well win this season of Dancing with the Stars, even if this was not her beset routine ever.

Score: 25/30

Marilu Henner and Derek Hough – Viennese Waltz

She picked the year 1978, which had good and bad moments, as her mom passed away, but she also got her big break in acting.

Derek gave it some amazing choreography, and the uplifting result quickly became not only her breakthrough dance but one of the night’s best.

Score: 27/30

Amber Rose and Maksim Chmerkovskiy – Samba

Appropriately set to “Woman Up” by Meghan Trainor, Amber’s dance was inspired by 2013, the year her son Sebastian was born.

How the heck this related to her baby with Wiz Khalifa, we haven’t the slightest clue, but man was she having some fun out there!

Score: 24/30.

James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess – Tango

Throwing it back to 2015, James recalled he survived the most devastating crash, one so bad that it’s actually surprising he’s here now.

He nailed this tango, too, backwards and forwards

Score: 29/30.

Terra Jolé and Sasha Farber – Contemporary

The reality star danced to honor 2013, when her father passed away after a liver operation and when she started her show on TLC.

This routine actually told the story, with Sasha playing Terra’s father, and everything that he meant to her. Both creative and moving.

Score: 27/30.
