Danny Dias Death: New, Tragic Details Emerge
We have an update on the unfortunate death of Danny Dias.
As previously reported, the former Road Rules cast member was found dead in his Brooklyn apartment on Monday.
He was only 34 years old.
When this sad news first broke yesterday, very little was known about the circumstances surrounding Dias’ death, although those close to the situation believed the passing was drug-related.
Here’s why:
Friends of the ex-reality star say that Dias took hallucinogens (presumed to have been LSD and mushrooms) over the weekend and then started to panic.
He locked himself in his bedroom as a result.
This same acquaintances tried to urge Dias to come out, but after he continually refused to do so, they left the residence.
They thought Danny simply wanted to be left alone in order to ride out this bad reaction to whatever substance he had taken.
But then two days passed without anyone having head from Dias; therefore, his friends called the police, who eventually entered Danny’s apartment and found his corpse.
Such sad stuff.
According to the latest information, per TMZ and Us Weekly, Dias was found with two vertical lacerations on his forearm.
Authorities are therefore treating the death as a suicide.
The New York Police Department also says that drugs were found at the scene.
“Police discovered a 34-year-old male unconscious and unresponsive,” officials told Us Weekly on Thursday morning, adding:
“The EMS responded and pronounced the male deceased at the scene. No criminality suspected at this time. The Medical Examiner is going to determine the cause of death.
“There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.”
The Linden, New Jersey, native starred on season 13 of Road Rules in 2004 and MTV released the following statement in the wake of his passing:
“We are saddened by the news of Danny Dias’ passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time.
“Our thoughts are with the Dias family during this difficult time. Danny was a beloved member of the ‘Road Rules’ community.”
Dias majored in music education from 2001 to 2003 at the Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton.
Sources say he actually left the school in his home state after receiving a call from MTV about his Road Rules audition tape.
He then landed a role on the series and turned into a fan favorite, returning after his season was finished to appear on MTV’s The Gauntlet.
He’s the third former MTV reality star to pass away this year:
– Just last month, ex-Rob & Big cast member Christopher “Big” Boykin died.
– Prior to that, former Newport Beach star Clay Adler shot himself in the head.
We send our condolences to the family of Danny Dias and to all the reality stars who left this planet too soon.
May they all rest in peace.

For now, we join everyone who knew Dias in expressing our sympathy and in shaking our heads. This sounds like a tragic situation all around.

Danny Dias Dies; MTV Reality Star Was 33
Danny Dias, the reality star best known for his appearance on season 13 of MTV’s Road Rules, has passed away at the age of 33.
There’s been no official word on Dias’ cause of death, but sources close to the situation say that his passing appears to have been drug related.
According to police reports, Dias was found dead in his Brooklyn apartment Monday morning, following a bizarre incident over the weekend.
Friends of the reality star say that he took hallucinogens – believed to be LSD and mushrooms – began to panic, and locked himself in his bedroom, ignoring friends’ pleas for him to emerge.
His friends left the apartment, assuming Dias simply wanted to be left alone after suffering a bad reaction to the drugs.
After nearly two days passed and there was still no word from Dias, the friends called police, who found Dias’ lifeless body in bed.
Drug overdoses caused by hallucinogens are virtually unheard of, so it’s believed that Dias either consumed a third substance his friends weren’t aware of, or engaged in some sort of fatal self-harm while under the influence.
The NYPD has reportedly launched a full investigation, but it may be weeks before we have any definitive answers.
After appearing on Road Rules in 2004, Dias returned to MTV for a season of The Gauntlet.
The Linden, New Jersey native quickly became a fan favorite on both series and befriended fellow cast mates Derrick Kosinski, Jodi Weatherton and Patrick Maloney
A Dias attended the Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton, New Jersey, where he majored in music education from 2001 to 2003.
He reportedly left college after receiving a call from MTV about his Road Rules audition tape.
Sadly, Dias is just the latest early 2000s MTV talent that we’ve lost prematurely in recent months.
In April, former Newport Harbor: The Real Orange County star Clay Adler committed suicide.
Prior to that Rob & Big star Christopher Boykin passed away at the age of 45.
Fans have already taken to social media to express their condolences to Dias’ family and mourn a life taken far too soon.

Danny Masterson: That 70s Show Star Accused of Rape
Actor Danny Masterson is best known for his role as Hyde on the early 2000s sitcom That ’70s Show.
In the years since the show ended its eight season run on Fox, however, Masterson’s career has faltered, and these days, he’s known in Hollywood circles primarily for his fanatical devotion to the Church of Scientology.
Now, several media outlets are reporting that Masterson is being investigated for rape by the LAPD.
“The Los Angeles Police Department Robbery Homicide Division, Sexual Assault Section, is conducting an investigation involving the actor Danny Masterson,” the department said in a statement released moments ago.
“Three women have come forward and disclosed that they were sexually assaulted by Masterson during the early 2000s.”
The Church of Scientology has declined to comment, but a rep for Masterson has dismissed one of the charges in a statement issued to the press today:
“The alleged incident occurred in the middle of their 6 year relationship, after which she continued to be his longtime girlfriend,” says the rep.
Of course, the fact that they were dating is immaterial, especially in the context of a relationship in which both parties are active Scientologists.
For starters, rape can and often does take place within the confines of a romantic relationship.
Additionally, former Scientologists have testified that while they were members of the cult, they were forbidden to report crimes by other Scientologists.
Materson’s team goes on to blame the accusations on actress Leah Remini, who was herself a Scientologist until 2013, and who has devoted her life to exposing the organization’s allegedly criminal practices in the years since.
“We are aware of [redacted]’s 16-year-old allegations,” reads the statement from Masterson’s reps.
“It was only after [redacted] was in contact with Leah Remini that she made allegations of sexual assault by Mr. Masterson.
“The alleged incident occurred in the middle of their 6-year relationship, after which she continued to be his longtime girlfriend.”
The statement goes on to claim that the accuser asked Scientologist officials to help her win Masterson back after their relationship ended:
“When Danny ended the relationship she continued to pursue him, even making threats to beat up his current wife Bijou Phillips unless she left him,” Masterson’s reps claim.
“In fact, we are informed by the Church that the only demand [redacted] made of the Church after Danny broke up with her was asking for their help to intervene so the breakup would not be permanent,”
Masterson has yet to comment on the charges personally.

Julia Roberts & Danny Moder: Headed For Divorce?
Julia Roberts doesn’t make many tabloid headlines these days for a number of reasons.
For one thing, she’s a woman in Hollywood over the age of 40, which means she’s effectively invisible to most of the media.
But the biggest reason that you don’t see Julia’s famous smile while the clerk scans your groceries and you curse the man who invented the chip card is that she’s been living a life of quiet domesticity for the past 15 years.
Roberts married Danny Moder back in 2002, which means in Hollywood years, they’ve been together for roughly four centuries.
Rumors of Roberts and Moder getting divorced have surfaced now and then, but nothing ever came of them/
That’ll likely turn out to be the case with this latest round of speculation as well, but some anonymous “insiders” swear that the actress and her husband have been living separate lives for months.
Roberts was recently spotted eating dinner with friends, and apparently, for some folks that’s sufficient evidence that the couple is on the rocks.
According to the site Celebrity Dirty Laundry, Roberts and Moder are officially separated, but will not be legally ending their marriage any time in the near future:
“The last thing Julia wants is a very nasty and public divorce battle with Danny,” says one source.
“She has three children to protect along with a $ 250 million dollar fortune at stake.”
So her marriage is over but she’s planning to hide that fact from the public for the rest of her life?
How convenient for the tipster!
Pro tip: You can make whatever wild claims you want to about a celebrity’s life, so long as you also invent a reason for them to hide their divorce/addiction/affair/homosexuality a secret.
In this case, Julia doesn’t want a “public divorce battle” because it would be … bad for her reputation?
She’s already been divorced once, and this is 2017 – people really don’t care if celebrities decide to end their marriages.
As for the $ 250 million:
1. Hey, that figure is up from the last round of divorce rumors. Good for Julia!
2. There’s no way she married some regular-ass dude and didn’t make him sign a prenup.
She could cut Moder a check for one-tenth of her fortune, and both sides would be happy.
Hell, with that kind of cash, she could just have him “disappeared” and they’d never find the body.
Julia doesn’t strike us as the shrinking violet type.
We’re pretty sure that if she wanted this guy out of her life, he’d be out of her life.

Danny Pintauro: I Got HIV From Oral Sex!
Actor Danny Pintauro, in the wake of the startling admission that he is HIV positive, is speaking out at length about how he contracted the disease.
In a headline-making appearance on Oprah: Where Are They Now, we learned that Danny Pintauro is HIV positive and has been for 12 years.
Now, in his first exclusive sit-down interview with his husband of one year, Wil Tabares, Pintauro, opened up about how he contracted the virus.
“Believe it or not, with this guy I was actually safe. We did use condoms,” said Pintauro, who played Jonathan on Who’s the Boss? from 1984-92.
“I got it another way, which was through oral sex.”
“When you put all of these nasty things together, like a compromised immune system, having been up for a long time, drugs, rough sex.”
“All of that combined with lesions in your mouth, bodily fluids, it’s that easy,” Danny says, and if he makes you uncomfortable, good.
Real talk is the only way to make a point, he believes, and he did not stop there; Pintauro also says he was addicted to crystal meth.
He contracted HIV around the same time he was struggling with substance abuse, though Danny did not name his sexual partner.
Pintauro says he had forgotten the man’s name until one day he happened upon it in an email. Since then he’s been trying to find him.
“I have searched. I searched the obituaries because I had a fear that I’d find him there, and I can’t find him,” Pintauro told Us Weekly.
“Mostly I just want to find out if he’s okay. The lifestyle he was leading was really irresponsible and I just want to see if he survived.”
Pintauro kicked off his Beacon of Light Tour to spread awareness about the dangers of crystal meth use and participating in HIV Equal Campaign.

Danny Pintauro, who played Jonathan on “Who’s the Boss,” told Oprah he’s been living with HIV for a long time.
The 39-year-old taped a segment for “Where are they Now?” and said he’s had the virus for at least 12 years.
Danny was 8 when he played Jonathan on the Tony Danza sitcom. He had a rough time afterward … dealing with a crystal meth addiction.
Danny married Wil Tabares last year.
