Sarah Hyland Flaunts Surgical Scars, Bikini Body in New Pics

Last month, Sarah Hyland was torn from work against her will and hospitalized for an unknown health issue.

Without getting too specific about what went wrong, she was direct with fans that she had faced a serious health crisis.

Now, she’s clearly feeling better — and is showing off her surgical scars in a bikini. Well, half a bikini.

Wednesday was the Fourth of July, and Modern Family star Sarah Hyland had more to celebrate than just her independence.

After her recent hospitalization from a health scare, Sarah had to take it easy.

In fact, she was only recently given permission to return to the gym for her fitness regimen.

So finally getting to party with her friends must have been a relief.

Hyland showed off only a few images. In them, she was wearing a bikini (sometimes only half of a bikini).

And, in her Instagram stories, Hyland gave fans an up-close view of her surgical scars.

“#scarsondisplay” she writes.

This shot of her body, including her flat and incredibly toned abdomen, shows off some of those scars on her lower torso.

As a young child, Hyland was diagnosed with kidney dysplasia.

This is a problem that begins with a malformation during fetal development in which the kidney is a series of cysts of various sizes.

As a result, she has had numerous surgeries over the course of her life — and received a kidney transplant from her father in 2012.

She is also on both anti-rejection medications and steroids, which makes it difficult for her to gain muscle mass — or weight of any kind.

She also shared a more casual, less up-close-and-personal photo of herself in a bikini, apparently from before she snapped the glimpse at her scars.

“Actual candid before a ‘photo,’” Hyland writes.

In direct sunlight, her scars are less visible.

Most, when looking at this photo of the 27-year-old actress, would just take in that she has an incredible bikini body.

Oh, and that her whimsical pineapple-shaped drink is a delight.

Sarah Hyland opened up about having to quit filming on June 18 for a short while under doctor’s orders.

She has had to be put on bedrest in the past, but has sometimes filmed Modern Family during those periods. This time, she had to step back from work for a hospitalization..

“Sometimes a selfie is more than just a good angle and feelin cute,” Hyland wrote.

“This time for #nationalselfieday I’ve decided to share my truth,” she continued. “As painful as it is.”

“So here is my face that was torn from work against my will. But I’m very grateful it was,” Hyland clarifies. “Health should always come first.”

She’s right!

She also credited her precious dog with warning her that she needed hospitalization.

After Hyland shared her hospitalization with the world, Wells Adams spoke up on Instagram.

“I miss this one a lot,” he wrote. “Coming home soon baby!”

He was apparently filming Bachelor in Paradise at the time.

Adams and Hyland went public with their relationship last Halloween, when they unveiled their Stranger Things costumes. Adorable.

It is so nice to see that Sarah Hyland was feeling well enough to party with her friends this week.

She should be proud of her incredible body. Her scars are part of that. They show how much she has endured and survived.

Sarah Hyland Shares Shocking Selfie, Explains Why She Was "Torn From Work"

Without getting into specifics, Sarah Hyland has opened up like never before about her health problems.

And our heart aches for the Modern Family actress as a result.

Over the past several months, Hyland has often had to combat chatter that she has an eating disorder, as fans have reacted with shock and dismay over her frail appearance.

The 27-year old has never discussed in great detail exactly what affliction she unfortunately has, but Hyland has confirmed she underwent a kidney transplant in 2012.

In a 2015 interview with Seventeen Magazine, she said simply that she was “born with so many health issues.”

These issues apparently struck again in a frightening manner this week, considering what Hyland shared on her Instagram Story yesterday, which just happened to be National Selfie Day.

(Yes, this is evidently an actual day now.)

“Sometimes a selfie is more than just a good angle or feelin cute,” Hyland wrote as a caption to the disturbing image below.

“This time for #NationalSelfieDay, I’ve decided to share my truth. As painful as it is.

“So here is my face that was torn from work against my will. But I’m very grateful it was. Health should always come first.”

As you can see, Hyland’s face is horribly and, we assume, painfully swollen.

In a second Instagram snapshot, Hyland wrote that she was hospitalized on Monday, June 18 — and added that her beloved canine, Boo, knew something was amiss right away.

“Can’t wait to come back to my precious angel princess. She’s perfect and knows exactly what I need at all times,” Hyland penned alongside a video of the dog giving her kisses, adding:

“This was taken this past Sunday. Day before hospitalization. She was literally telling me to get treatment.”

Again, it’s unclear exactly what is the matter with Hyland.

But it’s clearly pretty serious.

With Modern Family on hiatus, the actress was working on the comedy movie The Wedding Year when she became ill, an insider tells Us Weekly.

This latest incident comes just over a year after Hyland blasted critics who scoffed at her weight.

“My circumstances have put me in a place where I’m not in control of what my body looks like,” she angrily Tweeted at the time, emphasizing:

“I am working hard to maintain my weight by eating as much protein as possible and continue to be STRONG and healthy.

“There’s no need to worry! I’ve been down before and I’ll probably be down again in my lifetime but I’m steadfast and solid and will conquer my obstacles.”

Sadly, Hyland also has had to deal with tabloid speculating in the past about her appearance and whether she has had any plastic surgery.

“THIS MAKES ME SO MAD to have [doctors] give their opinion ON MY FACE is absolutely ridiculous and degrading,” she tweeted in November, appropriately adding:

“F-ck off.”

In this same (justified) rant, Hyland touched on her ongoing health struggles:

“I have had the worst medical year of my life and to create an entire article surrounding the question of if I’ve had plastic surgery is the MOST insulting thing.

“Adding insult to injury, you have NO IDEA what I have been through. And I have somewhat addressed these rumors already.”

Addressing the magazine Life & Style, which ran the report questioning her looks, Hyland concluded:

People like you are the reason why young girls need to alter their face. MY face has been altered by LIFE SAVING medication. Take your “journalism” and use it for some good. FOR ONCE.

Perfectly said, Sarah.

Sarah Hyland Rails Against Plastic Surgery Rumors, Makes Surprising Bisexual Admission

Sarah Hyland may make viewers laugh for a living as a series regular on Modern Family.

But there’s something the young actress does not find funny at all.

And that something is this: Chatter around the Internet that she’s undergone plastic surgery.

On Wednesday, the 26-year-old actress went off on an article that featured “plastic surgery experts” weighing in on whether she had work done.

The article was included within the pages of supermarket tabloid Life & Style.

“THIS MAKES ME SO MAD to have [doctors] give their opinion ON MY FACE is absolutely ridiculous and degrading,” she tweeted. “F-ck off.”

Citing medical concerns, just like she did back when she slammed talk that she’s anorexic, Hyland continued to blast the erroneous plastic surgery claim, adding via Twitter:

“I have had the worst medical year of my life and to create an entire article surrounding the question of if I’ve had plastic surgery is the MOST insulting thing.

“Adding insult to injury, you have NO IDEA what I have been through. And I have somewhat addressed these rumors already.”

Following this message, the Modern Family star went on to send along numerous videos of herself in a face mask.

“Hey @Life_and_Style. Got some work done tonight. Going for a new look… gonna write about this now?” she joked in one of the captions.

Although we all know there was real vitriol behind this so-called joke.

Later, Hyland used the hashtag “#FakeNews” when sharing another photo of herself in this mask.

Prior to defending her face, Hyland also wrote back to a fan who asked about the sexuality of her character, Haley Dunphy, on the aforementioned ABC hit sitcom.

When asked if Haley is bisexual, the actress responded as follows:

“I don’t know what the writers would say? But I confirm.”

Interesting. We’ve never really heard that possibility bantered about before.

It’s sort of a random question to ask and answer, considering Hyland’s Haley has never dated a woman.

Her most prominent relationships over the course of eight-plus seasons have been with Dylan and Andy, both of whom are of the opposite sex.

But perhaps Hyland is teasing a storyline to come on Modern Family Season 9?

Guess we’ll need to tune in to find out.

In real life, meanwhile, Hyland appears to be dating Wells Adams.

Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams: Dating! See Their Stranger Things Costumes!

Early this year, Sarah Hyland and Dominic Sherwood celebrated their second anniversary as a couple. But, like all relationships, it did not last forever.

As it turns out, the Modern Family actress has found a new man, and he’s also from television. Specifically, from The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise: Wells Adams.

And they are already rocking some pretty epic couples’ costumes, Stranger Things style.

We’re glad that Sarah Hyland had such a lengthy and presumably healthy relationship with Dominic Sherwood of Shadowhunters.

(Relationships don’t always end in a big blow-up — sometimes people just grow apart, folks)

After her absolutely horrific relationship with Matt Pokop ended with a three-year restraining order against him after he’d allegedly been violently abusive, she deserved good things.

And she still does.

Wells Adams is not dating Danielle Maltby, even though sparks flew between the two of them while Wells was tending bar on Bachelor in Paradise.

(Seriously, those two were acting like main characters in a romance film — but he’s clearly moved on)

Not only are Wells Adams and Sarah Hyland dating, but they are rocking some absolutely incredible costumes for Halloween.

If you don’t watch Stranger Things, Wells Adams is dressed as Eleven.

Sarah Hyland is not dressed as a Pokemon master but, rather, as Dustin.

Wells Adams had recently admitted on his podcast with Brandi Cyrus that he had been spending a lot of time with a special someone in L.A.

Clearly, Sarah Hyland fits the bill.

Us Weekly‘s source reveals that Sarah and Wells have been seeing each other for months.

It seems that they only decided to take things public for Halloween.

And looking at their costumes, how could you blame them?

Squad costume goals, right?

Wells and Sarah had been a little flirty over social media, which caused fans to first suspect that they might be an item.

Just little in-jokes, complete with @-ing each other.

But until we saw them all Instagram-official like this, we knew that they might have just been friends.

(Yes, men and women can absolutely be friends, folks — even celebrities)

We’re glad that they decided to go public so that we can all share in their joy (and appreciate their costumes)

Also, clearly these guys are having fun, because they shared one of their whackier photos.

(We’ll admit to not being completely caught up on Stranger Things yet, but … we don’t think that Wells’ Eleven is particularly in-character)

For anyone worried about their age differences, remember that Sarah Hyland just looks young.

She’s 26 years old.

And while plenty of the guys in the Bachelor franchise tend to be a bit on the older side, Wells Adams isn’t too old at 33, right?

That’s only a 7 year age difference and they’re both adults.

We guess that this means no more Bachelor shows for Wells Adams, since those shows are usually just for the single folks.

But he’s dating the super hot Sarah Hyland.

That sounds like a more than fair trade to us.

Sarah Hyland Nudes Hacked AGAIN!

This is just awful.

Sarah Hyland, the beautiful Modern Family actress, has had her personal photos hacked, which means that there are once again nude photos of her circulating on the internet.

The worst thing about this is that it’s happened before. …

Sarah Hyland’s shown serious sideboob before to show off a tattoo, but that was her choice.

This is different.

This happened to Sarah Hyland once before, in 2014.

This time, the pictures appear to show Sarah Hyland topless (and bottomless) while wearing a robe that covers basically nothing.

Some celebrity nude hacks reveal celebs in some serious sex acts, but this isn’t a case of Sarah Hyland “getting off easy” — this is a violation.

We don’t yet know the origins of the hack or who might be behind it, but we hope that investigators are able to get to the bottom of things.

Sarah Hyland deserves that much.

And she wasn’t the only one in these photos. …

At least one of the photos is said to feature a topless Sarah Hyland kissing her ex-boyfriend, Matt Prokop.

You might remember that she was granted a three-year restraining order against Matt Prokop after revealing that he had choked her, threatened to burn down her home and also threatened her dog.

It was reportedly part of abusive behavior that had gone on for years.

Monstrous but sadly not surprising. Abuse is no rare thing.

(At least Matt Prokop isn’t as popular as Johnny Depp, or maybe he’d still have hordes of people trying to defend him)

These days, Sarah Hyland is dating hottie Dominic Sherwood, known for his role in Taylor Swift’s “Style” music video and best known for his role as Jace Wayland (or, arguably, Jace Herondale — it’s complicated) on the Freeform supernatural drama series, Shadowhunters.

Things seem so, so much better for Sarah Hyland these days.

Sarah Hyland is 26, an adult by any standard.

(Arguably not a grown-up, since that really begins around 30 … or so … but that’s not a knock on her)

For this hack, which appears to have happened yesterday, as with every hack, trolls are going to come out of the woodwork to claim that it’s somehow her fault.

“If you don’t want your nudes to leak, don’t take them,” is usually the general gist of what they say.

That’s victim-blaming, usually with a heavy dose of slut-shaming.

Having something doesn’t entitle others to steal it from you and share it with the world.

We somehow doubt that those trolls would argue that it’s somehow the owner’s fault if their television or jewelry is stolen.

Nudes, stolen from a phone or computer or private social media account or ripped form the cloud, are no different.

Hell, even actresses who have gone nude for roles deserve privacy for their personal photos. How much you show of your body should always be your choice.

If a porn star’s nudes are stolen, it’s still a crime.

Sarah Hyland’s now had to deal with anorexia rumors, two hacks of her nudes, and a horrifyingly abusive relationship.

That’s more than enough for anyone.

Whatever drives people to punish celebrities for existing by obtaining and releasing their nudes to the public, it needs to stop.

Sarah Hyland has reportedly vowed legal action against anyone who publishes these ill-gotten goods, so we hope that this will be enough of a deterrent before too many people see her nude.

One of the only sources of consolation in these cases is that real nudes are often lost among the endless photos with poorly photoshopped images of celebrity faces on bodies that are clearly not their own.

But that’s a small comfort.

Sarah Hyland Blasts Anorexia Rumors, Sets Record Straight

Sarah Hyland would like your attention, please.

The Modern Family actress (who, yes, starred in that Dirty Dancing remake as well… but let’s not talk about that ever again) took to Twitter on Wednesday in order to shoot down a rumor that’s been making its way around the Internet for months now.

Does she have an eating disorder?

Quite simply, no, Hyland responds below.

But she goes into great personal detail in explaining why this chatter needs to stop.

“I’d like to address something that has not only been brought up on Twitter but has been heavily discussed by all of you in my Instagram comments,” Hyland wrote at the outset of a long post.

It continued:

“That something is my weight. I normally don’t comment on things like this because it draws attention to those trying to spread negativity but I’m here to explain a few things and spread love.

“Here goes…I haven’t had the greatest year. Maybe one day I’ll talk about it but for now, I’d like my privacy. I will say this year has brought a lot of changes and with that, physical changes.”

The 26-year old, who has been a series regular on Modern Family since its first season in 2009, added:

“I have been told I can’t work out. Which, for me, is very upsetting. I am an activist for activity (and for eating junk food in bed but it’s all about balance right?).

“I love to be outdoors. I love to be strong. (I’ll be using that word a lot). Strength is everything. Being strong has gotten me where I am. Both mentally and physically.

“I am not a fan of ‘being skinny’ which many of you have told me that I am too much of. ‘Eat a burger, your head is bigger than your body and that’s disgusting’ and you’re right! I should eat a burger!

“Cause they’re f–king delicious! But guess what. I do And again, you’re right. No one’s head should be bigger than their body but considering I’ve basically been on bed rest for the past few months, I’ve lost a lot of muscle mass.

“My circumstances have put me in a place where I’m not in control of what my body looks like.”

The main message Hyland wanted to send to followers is that she is NOT promoting an unhealthy lifestyle.

Not at all. She’s all for eating lots of food and she’s all for different body shapes and sizes.

“I write this because I’ve been accused of promoting anorexia in, ironically enough, an anti-bullying post. And I want young girls to know that’s not my intention.”

We don’t know for certain what has been going on with Hyland.

But she backed out of presenting at the 2017 SAG Awards due to her health.

And she shared here that she’s “working hard to maintain my weight by eating as much protein as possible and continue to be strong and healthy. There’s no need to worry.

“I’ve been down before and I’ll probably be down again in my lifetime but I’m steadfast and solid and will conquer my obstacles.”

Back in 2012, Hyland revealed that she had undergone a kidney transplant from her father after a lifelong battle with kidney dysplasia.

We really hope she’s doing okay right now.

As a concluding message to fans in this case, Hyland wrote the following:

Laugh. Love. Be happy. Support your peers. Love. Work hard. Be Confident. Love. Adopt puppies! Tell your mum you appreciate her. Love. Love. Love.

Perfectly said, right?

Sarah Hyland: Check Out My Boobs and Tattoo!

Move over, Ariel Winter.

There’s another Modern Family star who knows who understands the power of showing off her boobs and tattoos on Instagram, and she’s making her presence known in a big way.

In recent months, Sarah Hyland hasn’t received quite as much attention online as her younger MF co-star, primarily because this is the Internet, and Ariel has huge boobs.

But believe it or not, with an astonishing 3.6 million, Sarah actually has significantly more IG followers than her onscreen sister.

Obviously, there are several reasons for her massive popularity:

She’s spent seven seasons as one of the star’s of one of TV’s most beloved sitcoms, and despite what Amanda Bynes says, Sarah Hyland is not ugly.

Very far from it, in fact.

But Sarah might have received more online press and IG “likes” in the past week than at just about any other point in her career, largely because she took a page from Ms. Winter’s book:

Yes, that’s a closeup of some key real estate on Sarah’s torso.

Not that it’s the focal point of the photo, but the text on the tatt reads “follow my heartbeat.”

She captioned the pic:

“Got this tattoo by the amazing @_drwoo this past January but since it’s been exactly 2 years since I was with my #hairtribe at the #hollywoodbowl I figured it would be nice to finally post it.”

The words are a reference to the beloved musical Hair, which Sarah appeared in a revival of in 2014.

We didn’t catch her performance, but suddenly we’re very glad that she landed the role. 

Bravo, Sarah. Bravo.

Ariel Winter & Sarah Hyland Debut NEW Hair Color on Instagram!

Ariel Winter just debuted a brand new look on Instagram: she’s a redhead!

The former brunette shared a photo and a video showing off her new fiery tresses.

“I’m now a strawberry!” she wrote in the caption. Although, to be precise, she used a strawberry emoji.

It’s shocking what a simple hair change can do – the 18-year-old actress looks nearly unrecognizable (yet still gorgeous) in the new pic.

We can’t help but wonder if the new look will be incorporated into the Modern Family storyline, but a bold move like this is not one we’d expect from her character, the smart yet nerdy Alex Dunphy.

Winter’s hair transformation comes on the heels of a color update recently made by one of her co-stars. 

Sarah Hyland, who plays Winter’s older sister on the sitcom, showed off a new, markedly darker hairstyle just two days ago.

Hyland traded in her brond (that’s a hybrid of blond and brunette, FYI), ombre locks for a raven hue.

“Hello from the darker side,” she wrote in the caption (channeling her inner Adele, we assume).

We don’t know if the color changes were coordinated or just a coincidence, but we have to say they’re both pulling it off marvelously.

Abby Lee Miller & Kelly Hyland: Dance Moms Lawsuit Dismissed!

Abby Lee Miller and Kelly Hyland have finally put their long-running Dance Moms feud to bed, and they settled on relatively innocuous terms.

If you watch Dance Moms online, or even if you don’t, you are likely aware of what a beast Abby Lee Miller can be at her Dance Company.

The moms who send their kids there often aren’t much better.

Following an insane incident captured on the Lifetime reality show (above), Hyland sued Miller, accusing her adversary of all sorts of things.

The fact that Abby Lee tried to “eat her face”, for one.

She actually sued twice, once for a brawl during a taping of the show, and again for causing emotional stress on her 13-year-old daughter.

After over a year, the case was settled last week in L.A.

According to court documents, Hyland agreed to drop her lawsuits against Abby and Collins Ave Entertainment, the production company.

Dance Moms can still use Kelly and her daughter’s image in show reruns … but they did have to cough up $ 17,500 for new floors for Kelly.

Yes, Hyland claims her hardwoods were damaged during production, and somehow, that was the concession she ended up getting here.

Emotional distress. Punitive damages. Who needs it.

A little paid-for home renovation always takes the sting out of a lawsuit that didn’t quite materialize into the millions you’d hoped, no?

It’s not clear what brought them to the negotiating table, but the pact also says that the two parties must maintain a friendly front …
