Jim Bob Duggar: Using Money to Control His Family?

We all know that Jim Bob Duggar likes to maintain control of his massive family. Religion, isolation, and allegedly abuse are parts of that.

Another part may be his wealth. Fans believe that he has a strategy to keep his married children from straying too far.

Are fans right? Is he bribing his adult children to stay close to home in Arkansas?

As we all know, Jim Bob’s grand design for humanity involves women not working except as obedient wives, dutiful mothers, and reality stars.

In this economy, after a couple of decades of wage stagnation, supporting a massive family of children on only one income can be positively brutal.

But fans think that they know how married Duggar children remain afloat despite the expenses of life.

It’s more than just asking daddy — sorry, their father and former owner — for a handout.

They suspect that he uses the money to control them. Specifically, to control where they live.

Let’s look at a few examples. We’ll start, of course, with the worst of the batch.

By the worst, we of course mean Josh Duggar, whose recent return to social media did not go over well.

When Josh Duggar married Anna, Jim Bob rewarded that ill-fated (and yet still enduring) union.

Josh and Anna moved into a house in Fayetville that had belonged to Grandma Mary.

That house was only 15 minutes by car from the Duggar compound. But Johs and Anna didn’t stay there forever.

Josh got a job with the Family Research Council, which the Southern Poverty Law Center designates as a hate group, To do that job, he moved to Maryland.

When news broke that Josh had molested 5 little girls, including his own sisters, that his family had covered it up, and that he had cheated on his wife, he lost his job.

Josh and his family now live in Siloam Springs, which is about 20 minutes away from Jim Bob.

Now, we know that there isn’t the clearest connection between Jim Bob and their move back home.

Maybe Josh wanted to be around the only people who wanted anything to do with him — which happens to include a few of his former victims.

But Jill was the next to get married. She tied the knot with notorious homophobe Derick Dillard in 2014.

After they were married, Jim Bob allowed them to reside in his 4,000 square foot, 4-bedroom $ 1.5 million “mini-mansion” property.

Many fans believed that this “gift” may have been intended as a leash to keep the couple close to home.

It is unclear if they had to pay rent or not, though Derick has implied that they did. Now that they have returned from their misadventurous mission trip in South America, they are living closer to where Derick went to school.

Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald have lived in the Fayetville home that was once inhabited by Josh and Anna.

In fact, Jim bob surprised Jessa and Ben by renovating the property while they were on their honeymoon.

They must have been happy with it, because they have lived there for the past three-and-a-half years.

Ultimately, they ended up paying Grandma Mary just one dollar for the home.

(So that’s how Millennials can save up to buy a house — just have rich relatives who give one away!)

Not everyone seems to live on Jim Bob’s dime, however.

Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth lived in an RV, if you can imagine … but only while a property that Austin already owned was rennovated.

When Gideon was born, they went ahead and moved in, even though the house remained a fixer-upper.

In the mean time, 28-year-old John David, 28-year-old Jana, and 18-year-old Jason are already homeowners … but Jim Bob does not permit them to live away from “home” until they are married.

Not everyone is a denizen of Arkansas, however.

Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo have put down roots in Texas.

So … are fans right?

We would never accuse Jim Bob of being a nice person or a good parent, but it sounds like he provides his married children with homes when they need them.

He might use any financial support as a means of control, but he uses all kinds of methods to control his family.

Nothing about the real estate uses strikes us as particularly devious or unusual for a family with the means that the Duggars possess.

But … we never know what conversations take place behind the scenes. Fans may still be right.

The Duggars don’t talk about money that much, but they definitely care about it.

Josh Duggar: Using Fake Names to Scam Fans Out of Money?!

Back in 2015, news of the Josh Duggar sex scandals shook fans to their core and threatened to bring an end to the Duggar family’s media empire.

Remarkably, three years later, life has pretty much returned to normal for the Duggars — with the notable exception of Josh, of course.

While his parents and siblings made a rather smooth transition back to the spotlight, Josh remains exiled from both fans and his family.

Currently, Josh works on a used car lot owned by his father, and he lives several miles away from the neighborhood in Tontitown, Arkansas that most of them call home.

Of course, the clearest indicator of the rift between the former lobbyist and the rest of his family might be that Josh no longer worships at the Duggar family church.

Josh is reportedly in dire financial straits, as he attempts to raise five children on a car lot attendant’s salary and with little financial help from his wealthy family.

But that’s just one of the reasons that fans are wary of Josh’s latest “fundraising” efforts.

Josh returned to Facebook this week with little fanfare, and he’s apparently on a mission.

Thus far, Josh’s activity on the site has been extremely limited:

As In Touch Weekly points out, he changed his profile picture to a photo of his son Matthew — and he announced that he’ll be raising money for two family friends who were involved in a car accident.

Of course, this is Josh Duggar we’re talking about, so it wasn’t long before fans noticed something deeply suspicious about his philanthropic efforts.

As one Facebook user quickly pointed out, the fundraiser that Josh is encouraging fans to contribute to was apparently started by someone named Janie Williams.

The only problem there is the fact that Janie doesn’t appear to be a real person.

“Both names are listed on the GoFundMe as running the campaign,” the fan wrote on Facebook.

“When I click on Janie’s name, it led me to Josh’s profile,” she continued.

“I can see Josh using the common [names] Janie/Joe and common last [names] Williams/Smith to try [and] hide. I [don’t see] a Janie Williams listed as a friend on Josh’s page.”

Yes, it appears that Josh has constructed yet another alias for himself.

In the past, he’s been caught using the name Joe Smithson on social media.

And of course, there was the fake Ashley Madison profile that Josh used to try and cheat on his wife.

So what exactly is going on here?

Well, it’s tough to say, but the Duggars have a long history of begging fans for money under suspicious pretenses.

Now, it looks like Josh is attempting to supplement his meager income with a little light fraud.

All in a day’s work for one of the shadiest figures west of the Mississippi.

Kate Gosselin: I Demand Every CENT of Jon Gosselin"s Money!!

In case there was ever any doubt, yes, Jon Gosselin and Kate Gosselin still hate each other.

And now it’s more than just personal — they’re facing each other in court.

This time, it’s about more than just their long-running custody battle. It’s about money. Is Kate trying to bleed him dry?

RadarOnline reports that Kate Gosselin is demanding a major payday from her ex, Jon Gosselin, according to court records that the tabloid obtained.

How much money? To the tune of about $ 132,000.

She apparently filed this lawsuit in March, but Jon isn’t going down without a fight.

“He’s contesting it.”

But a $ 132,000 dispute isn’t something that you work out over coffee. This is a civil dispute.

“They’re fighting it out in court.”

It sounds like this battle has been waging for about two months.

Their research indicates that Jon Gosselin was personally served with a complaint by a shariff on April 5.

On April 6, Jon issued his response — in the form of a petition to strike. He has lawyered up.

As to why Jon would wage this legal battle with Kate in the first place, the answer is pretty simple.

“It’s a lot of money.”

Six figures is no laughing matter, especially when, like Jon, you’ve struggled as a famous person without a reality series to keep you afloat.

“Both parties are contesting it.”

And the insider suggests that this court battle could drag on for ages.

“It’s not over yet.”

It’s clear that they’re willing to fight.

So far, this has only cost Kate an estimated $ 300 and Jon an estimated $ 200.

But court battles usually include attorneys and other expenses that can cost more than a few hundred dollars.

And, of course, whoever wins, at least one of them will be losing out on a sizable chunk of cash.

It is not immediately clear, RadarOnline notes, why Kate is demanding this cash or in this amount.

Back in 2012, in simpler times when people feared that the world would end for mystical reasons rather than through unstable despots with nuclear stockpiles, Kate said that Jon owed her child support.

Specifically, she said that he owed her $ 3,500 in child support. That’s not a lot to have, but that can be a lot to owe, you know?

Back then, Jon told her frankly that he could not afford to pay it. Kate voluntarily waived it at the time. Which seems … uncharacteristically nice of her.

This lawsuit seems more like the Kate with whom viewers are familiar.

But … what is her angle?

Online estimates put Kate’s net worth at about $ 200,000. They put Jon’s net worth at about $ 10,000.

We don’t really know what Kate expects to get out of this. We don’t even know why Kate believes that she is entitled to this money. Is it child support or something else?

We’re glad that Jon Gosselin and his daughter spent some quality time together in recent weeks.

We hope that he gets to spend time with all of his children, even during this court battle.

It’s all sure to be a mess.

Tori Spelling: Having a SIXTH Kid to Squeeze More Money From Her Mom?!

Back in March of 2017, Tori Spelling welcomed her fifth child.

Fans were somewhat surprised by Spelling’s decision to expand her family, not only because she’s 44 years old, but because her extreme financial difficulties have been well-documented in recent years.

But over one year later, Spelling and husband Dean McDermott are holding things together, and it looks as though their relationship might actually be on the upswing for the first time in a very long time.

So we suppose it should come as no surprise that Tori is talking about having another kid.

“You know, I do, I like even numbers, they keep asking, they all want one more because they want a little baby sister now,” Spelling recently told Us Weekly.

Fortunately, she seems well aware of the fact that bringing another child into the world would likely send Dean running back to the probably-fictitious Emily Goodhand

“But I can’t imagine dad being sane if we have one more. It would push dad over the edge. He’s doing the best he can!”

And Dean would have every reason to lose it if Tori announced her desire to get pregnant again, right?

After all the Spellings are broke.

Not celebrity broke, mind you, but regular folk, coupon-clipping broke.

The situation is so bad that McDermott was nearly arrested for unpaid child support.

But believe it or not, those financial issues might actually help motivate Tori and Dean to welcome yet another child.

Mary Jo Eustace has a son by McDermott, and she says she and her boy both expect Tori and Dean to pop out another tyke.

“I think my son would not be surprised if they had another one,” Eustace says.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if she had another one.”

And why wouldn’t she be shocked?

Well, it seems the payout that Tori and Dean will eventually receive from the trust of her mother, Candy Spelling, is entirely dependent on how many children they have.

“So, there’s incentive there,” says Eustace.

As for life with five kids under one roof, Tori says it’s a dream come true:

“It’s going amazing. You know, we had four kind of back-to-back. I was pregnant for years, and then there was a little break, so now that we have started over basically, Dean always says we got all the amount of diapers, all of them self-sufficient, and then started all over again with Beau,” Spelling told Us.

“But Beau is going to be the happiest, well-adjusted baby ever because he has four doting brothers and sisters,” she adds.

“We joke, he hasn’t started walking yet and we’re like, ‘Well why should he? Everyone carries him everywhere.’ And he knows too.”

Why walk when others will carry you?

There’s a metaphor for Tori’s financial situation in there somewhere.

Rudy Giuliani: Trump TOTALLY Paid Stormy Daniels Hush Money!

By now, you’re almost certainly familiar with the ongoing Stormy Daniels sex scandal.

And depending on where you land on the political spectrum, you’ve likely reached one of two conclusions about it:

Either you think it’s a witch hunt designed to bring an end to the Trump presidency, or you believe this is the loose thread that will cause Trump’s vast tapestry of corruption to finally unravel.

Whatever the case, Stormy and her charismatic lawyer, Michael Avennatti, won’t be going away anytime soon, particularly after comments Rudy Giuliani made during a recent interview with Sean Hannity.

In either a major slip-up or a baffling strategic move, Giuliani admitted that Trump reimbursed his attorney Michael Cohen for the $ 130,000 payment Cohen made to Daniels as part of a non-disclosure agreement.

“Funneled through a law firm, and the president repaid it,” Giuliani said of the hush money.

After the interview, Giuliani doubled-down on his statement, clarifying that his comment was no mere slip of the tongue, but a planned statement intended to absolve the president of violating federal election laws:

“That removes the campaign finance violation, and we have all the documentary proof for it,” he said.

In case you’ve been avoiding all forms of media like the proverbial Nero busting out a sick Charlie Daniels solo while Rome burns to the ground, here’s a rundown of what exactly that means:

Trump previously denied any knowledge of the Cohen payment, but getting caught lying is like eating a Big Mac for the president – he does it every day without a second thought about the consequences.

The reason this is such a bigger deal than all of those previous falsehoods is that Trump may be on the verge of getting caught in a major violation of campaign finance law.

Individual contributions to campaigns are limited to $ 2,700.

Obviously, Cohen’s payment to Daniels exceeds that by a large margin, and since the payment directly benefited the Trump campaign, Cohen looked to be in pretty clear violation of FEC regulations.

By admitting that Trump repaid the cash, Giuliani is essentially arguing that $ 130,000 was a zero-interest loan, not a campaign donation.

Obviously, this raises a lot of other questions, primarily:

Why does a billionaire need to borrow $ 130,000 from his lawyer; what did Cohen stand to gain from the arrangement, and why did Trump feel the need to lie about the whole thing?

Since Cohen’s office was raided by the FBI last month, these questions might be answered sooner rather than later.

So stay tuned for the exciting series finale of the bonkers reality show that is the Trump presidency!

It should be a doozy!
