Elton John Mourns Shocking Death of His Mother

Elton John has some terrible news to share with his fans:

The artist’s mother has passed away unexpectedly.

Her name was Sheila Farebrother and she had only just recently rekindled a relationship with her famous son.

“So sad to say that my mother passed away this morning,” wrote John on Instagram and Twitter this morning, adding:

“I only saw her last Monday and I am in shock. Travel safe Mum. Thank you for everything. I will miss you so much. Love, Elton.”

The legendary star did not explain the circumstances surrounding his mother’s death.

But he did include the following image of the pair along with his unfortunate message:

john, mom

The iconic musician announced just this past spring that he had made up with his mom after a nearly decade-long estrangement.

He wasn’t open (nor need he have been) about why he and Farebrother had not been in close contact for many years, but he posted a different happy picture of parent and child on Mother’s Day.

“So happy we are back in touch,” he wrote as a caption at the time.

While John was mostly silent about the reason why he and his mother had a fallout in 2008, Farebrother opened up a bit to The Daily Mail about why she scarcely spoke to her son.

In 2015, she cited her refusal to cut off contact with two of John’s oldest friends – Bob Halley and John Reid – as the catalyst for their severed relationship.

John had previously cut ties with both men.

Said Farebrother to the aforementioned publication two years ago:

“‘I told him: ‘I’m not about to do that and drop them. Bob is like a son to me. He has always been marvellous to me and he lives nearby and keeps an eye on me.’”

She added:

“Then to my utter amazement, [John] told me he hated me. And he then banged the phone down. Imagine! To me, his mother!"”

Last year, however, there was a thawing out between the two.

“Out of respect for my mother’s privacy, I have always shied away from speaking publicly about our relationship,” John said in an interview.

“However, I can say that we are now back in touch and have been so since my mother’s 90th birthday.”

We send our condolences to Elton John and his family.

Bella Thorne Mourns Ex-Boyfriend Lil Peep In Tearful Video

On Wednesday, the music world was shocked by news that Lil Peep had died of an apparent overdose.

Sadly, many who knew the rapper and singer were also aware of the drug problem that eventually claimed Peep"s life.

But the advance knowledge that Peep (real name Gustav Ahr) was on a fatal collision course doesn"t appear to have lessened the grief experienced by his loved ones.

Among those who mourning Peep today is actress Bella Thorne.

Thorne and Peep dated briefly over the summer, and they remained close friends in the months after their breakup.

Thorne took to Instagram today to pay tribute to her departed companion.

“I just wanted to say anybody out there who is a Lil Peep fan, you guys know how talented he was, you guys know how great he was… well he was even more f—king great as a person,” says a teary-eyed Bella in the clip below.

Delilah Mourns Son’s Suicide in Emotional Tribute: My Heart is Struggling to Beat

Beloved radio host Delilah is speaking out about the loss of her son, Zachariah, who tragically took his own life earlier this month.

Delilah says her “heart is struggling to continue to beat” after the death of her child, who succumbed to a battle with depression.

The 57-year-old posted a number of childhood photos of her late son, along with a poem by Mary Jean Irion, in his memory.

She writes, “Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart.”

“Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow. Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so.”

“One day I shall dig my nails into the earth,” she adds.

“Or bury my face in the pillow, or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky and want, more than all the world, your return.”

“There will not be another ‘normal day’ with my Zack-Attack, at least not in this life time,” Delilah wrote in her emotional post.

Delilah Tribute

“No more cooking his favorite foods or bringing home gallons of his favorite juice, no more laughter around the bonfire or Christmas mornings.”

“My heart is struggling to continue to beat.”

“Thank you for your prayers, love and support. Please pray for his grandparents, his siblings, his dad and his friends,” she added.

“We are all doing our best to focus on his joyful heart, his wild free spirit and his smile,” she concluded, still reeling from the pain.

Fans first learned of Delilah’s son’s suicide after she shared the sad news with her friends and fans on Facebook on October 7.

She wrote that he was “being treated, counseled, and embraced fiercely by family and friends while battling depression for some time now.”

My heart is broken beyond repair and I can not fathom how to go on… but I have to believe he is at peace with the Lord.”

She hopes “that God will get us through.”

Delilah revealed that Zachariah left a suicide note behind, though she did not reveal its specific contents for obvious reasons.

The “Queen of Sappy Love Songs” also announced that she would be taking some time away from work in light of all this.

“I will be absent from the radio and on social media for a time as I grieve and try to process this loss with my family,” she said.

“Please pray for my beloved Zacky, and I will pray for all suffering from this debilitating disease called depression.”

Delilah

Delilah’s radio show, simply known as Delilah, based in the Pacific Northwest, regularly reaches more than eight million listeners.

It’s unclear when that will resume.

Sadly, Zachariah isn’t the first child the mother of 13 – yes, she has 13 children, 10 of whom are adopted – has lost already.

One of her adopted sons, Sammy, tragically passed away back in 2012 from complications from sickle-cell anemia.

On her Facebook page, Delilah also shared the number for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 1-800-273-8255.

We urge anyone who may be considering such action – or who knows someone who may be – to call it immediately.

Survivor of Livestreamed Crash Speaks Out, Mourns Girlfriend"s Death

There is no part of this story that isn’t absolutely tragic.

Remember how an 18-year-old girl livestreamed herself appearing to lose control of her vehicle, resulting in the death of her own younger sister? There was a third person in the car who wasn’t initially identified in reports.

That third person, a girl named Manuela Seja, survived with a leg injury and is now speaking about the death of her girlfriend, Jacqueline Sanchez.

Obdulia Sanchez is 18 years old, and was driving her younger sister, Jacqueline, and Jacqueline’s girlfriend, Manuela Seja, back home to Stockton, California.

Obdulia Sanchez’s statements in the alleged recording of the incident are already pretty famous.

“I f-ing killed my sister, okay. I know I’m going to jail for life alright. I understand that. This is the last thing I wanted to happen — okay. Alright, I don’t f—ing care though — I’m-a hold it down.”

Understandably, she was and very likely is overwhelmed with feelings of grief and guilt.

(They may also end up being used against her in court)

Obdulia has been arrested on the suspicion that she was under the influence of alcohol or drugs, as well as for the accident and death itself.

Police are investigating the vehicle and looking into the livestream video, which could potentially be used as evidence.

Precisely what caused Obdulia to lose control and ultimately for the vehicle to flip are unclear.

Initial reports suggested that Obdulia had struck a curb and overcorrected, losing control at such a high speed.

It is also possible that a tire blew out.

While she obviously should not have been livestreaming while driving, it’s important that we wait to condemn her until we find out exactly what was going on.

Jacqueline Sanchez and Manuela Seja met on Instagram and became friends.

Over time, their friendship became romantic, and Jacqueline and Manuela dated for seven months before Jacqueline’s death.

Manuela lives in Fresno and Jacqueline lived in Stockton.

130 miles is a long distance for a teenage relationship, but young love is powerful.

The girls had made a commitment to see each other every weekend.

Obdulia was helping her younger sister by driving the girls so that they’d be able to hang out and see each other.

This time, they didn’t make it — the tragic crash happened in Los Banos.

Manuela remembers Jacqueline, who was supposed to celebrate her quinceanera on Sunday.

She’ll treasure those memories for the rest of her life.

A huge part of how she describes Jacqueline is her sense of humor.

“She wasn’t like everybody else. She was just funny and she would be funny. She didn’t even need to try.”

She has a box of treasured memories with her girlfriend — a gift that Jacqueline had made for her.

“I never thought this would happen.”

No one does, but especially not a 14-year-old who has probably had very little experience with death.

Like Jacqueline father said in his own statement, Manuela doesn’t seem to be angry with Obdulia.

“Honestly, I’m not mad at anybody and I don’t blame anybody.”

The fact that this girl who lost her girlfriend of seven months and was a witness isn’t blaming Obdulia makes us hope that investigators take a good, hard look at the evidence before they move things any further.

Obdulia’s excited utterance over her sister’s body is inflammatory, but not proof that it was genuinely her fault.

Manuela has some words of wisdom after the crash.

“It’s all affected by social media. That’s what life is now. And it’s going to advance more and more. That what it’s going to be about.”

It’s not clear if she’s talking about people recording for social media when they should be driving, or if she just means people talking about blame via social media.

Either way, Manuela is right.

A teen streamed her own death on Facebook Live late last year.

Just weeks ago, a woman livestreamed her own horrific death in a car accident in which she was the passenger.

Whether technology plays a role in distracting drivers or not, streaming means that there can be dozens or millions of witnesses to someone’s death.

Sometimes without any warning whatsoever.

Very likely the only thing that will put an end to livestreamed vehicular deaths will be when autonomous cars dominate the roadways, making them much safer for everyone involved.

But until almost every car is driving itself, it looks like we’re going to see another decade or so of people recording their own deaths.

Drake Bell Mourns Death of Stevie Ryan, Breaks Our Hearts with These Tweets

Drake Bell often uses his Twitter account to engage in feuds with other, better known celebrities.

Over the years, he’s gotten into it with stars such as Justin Bieber (along with the singer’s passionate fans) and Caitlyn Jenner, among others.

Over this past weekend, however, Bell was in no mood to feud.

He was simply stunned and sad over the death of Stevie Ryan.

According to the Los Angeles Coroner’s office’s, the viral video star and aspiring actress hanged herself in her home on July 1.

While details continue to pour in and while we may never know what drove Ryan to commit this tragic act, her final Tweet was posted just a day earlier.

And it was in remembrance of her grandfather.

“The man of my dreams will now only be in my dreams,” she wrote. “I’ll miss you everyday, forever. I love you my Pa.”

Ryan was clearly in a very low place at the time.

Bell, meanwhile, dated Ryan – a YouTube star perhaps best known for her celebrity impressions – from 2005 to 2006.

They attended the 2006 MTV Movie Awards together, walking the red carpet and posing for photographers.

“No no no!!!! I can NOT BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING!!!! Please wake me from this nightmare @StevieRyan I loved you and will forever miss you!” wrote Bell in response to the awful news on Sunday.

bell and ryan

He later linked to a Fox News report on Ryan’s passing and added:

“This is too much. My heart is crushed. @StevieRyan I love you and miss you…”

A short time later, Bell re-Tweeted a video of Ryan and Perez Hilton from 2007, quoting the celebrity gossip blogger, who wrote that he was “sending so much light to [the loved] ones” of the late 33-year old.

Ryan was outspoken about her struggle with depression over the years on social media.

She even created and co-hosted a podcast about the mental illness called “Mentally Ch(ill)” with Kristen Carney.

Along with a few broken heart emojis, Carney Tweeted the following in response to Ryan’s suicide:

RIP @StevieRyan. The coolest girl I’ve ever known.

The California native sky-rocketed to fame on YouTube thanks to her impersonations of stars such Kim Kardashian, Amy Winehouse and Justin Bieber.

She then starred her own sketch comedy show on VH1, “Stevie TV,” and co-hosted a relationship program (“Sex with Brody”) with Brody Jenner.

She was reportedly found unresponsive at her home on Saturday and pronounced dead at the scene.

Bell may have actually dated Ryan, but he wasn’t alone in mourning her death.

Here’s a look at a few other responses to her shocking suicide:

Erin Moran: Husband Reveals Cause of Death, Mourns Actress in Moving Letter

Earlier this week, Happy Days and Joanie Loves Chachi actress Erin Moran passed away at the age of 56.

Little was known about Moran’s cause of death in the days after the news of her passing went public, but that didn’t prevent one of her former co-stars from speculating.

Scott Baio, who played the other title character in Joanie Loves Chachi, stated that he was “not surprised” by Moran’s death, and incorrectly attributed her premature demise to her history of drug and alcohol abuse.

“I feel bad because her whole life, she was troubled, could never find what made her happy and content,” Baio said in an interview on Monday.

“For me, you do drugs or drink, you’re gonna die.”

After it was revealed that Moran likely died of cancer and not of an overdose, the criticism of Baio grew louder, with many demanding the actor apologize.

Instead, Baio defended his comments in a bizarrely Trump-ian Twitter tirade:

“This is so wrong. Now I know what fake news is!” the 56-year-old tweeted, adding:

“I said ‘IF’ (You abuse drugs/alcohol). My wife @MrsScottBaio spoke to Erin less than 1 month ago.”

Now it seems that Baio has finally realized he should be trying to make amends to Moran’s family, not flailing about in an effort to salvage what’s left of his career.

Moments ago, Baio posted a lengthy open letter penned by Moran’s husband, Steve Fleischmann, which confirms what law enforcement officials revealed yesterday:

Moran was battling stage four cancer at the time of her death.

Fleischmann revealed that the cancer acted fast, having only been discovered in November:

“Erin woke up and had about a dime size blood stain on her pillowcase,” he wrote.

“She said I think i bit my tongue. A couple days go by and there’s a bigger spot of blood. We get like 4 days into December, there’s more blood. I get a flashlight and say let me look. It was not her tongue it was her tonsil on the left side. I thought it was tonsillitis.”

He added:

“So we went to an ENT who said they wanted to biopsy it. It came back squamous cell carcinoma. She started radiation and chemo. Five days a week radiation and chemo only on Thursdays. We did that the whole time. It got so bad so fast.”

Fleischmann went on to offer a heartbreaking account of his wife’s final moments:

“I laid down next to her held her right hand in my left. I feel asleep woke up about a hour later still holding her hand and she was gone, she was just gone. Norton Cancer Institute never said how bad it was,” he wrote.

“The coroner told me it was really really bad. It had spread to her spleen, she had alot of fluid in her lungs and part of her brain was infected.”

He added that by the time the cancer was discovered, it was already too late:

“The coroner said even if she was in the hospital being pumped full of antibiotics she still would not of made it. He said it was the best that she was with me and went in her sleep.”

Fleischmann concluded with a plea for sensitivity from fans and the media:

“PLEASE feel free to send the above to Any and ALL news outlets The press has been relentless,” he wrote.

“They knock on the door constantly.”

Our thoughts go out to Fleischmann and the rest of Moran’s family at this difficult time.

Rico Rodriguez, Modern Family Star, Mourns Late Father

Rico Rodriguez is in a state of mourning.

The 18-year old Modern Family actor took to Instagram on Sunday in order to bid farewell to his father, Roy Rodriguez, who passed away several days ago at the young age of 52.

The death was sudden and unexpected, multiple sources confirm.

“This has been the toughest week of my life,” Rodriguez wrote as a caption to the aboe photo.

It features father and son sharing a milkshake and looking adorable.

Continued the young star:

“My Dad was the most kind hearted, loving, hard working, determined, and funny man I have ever known.

“He was like a super hero, he had the ability to get the best out of you day in and day out.”

He concluded as follows:

“I’m gonna miss your hugs. I’m gonna miss your advice. I’m gonna miss your smile, and I’m gonna miss your laugh. I know you’re looking down at us right now giving us the green light to move forward.

“I miss you Daddy. I’ll love you forever – Your youngest.”

Roy Rodriguez was laid to rest at a funeral on Saturday.

In addition to Rico, he is survived by the actor’s mother and his wife, Diane, along with kids Raini; Ray; and Roy Jr.; and 10 grandchildren.

The family patriarch is also survived by his mother, his stepfather and five siblings.

The late father, husband and grandfather owned and operated Rodriguez Tire Service in Bryan, Texas.

He was described as a car enthusiast, serving as founder and president of La Compania Car Club of Bryan, reads his obituary.

The same life review also states that, at age 47, Roy got his first tattoo: portraits on his arm of his entire family, including his wife, kids, grandchildren and parents.

How sweet, right?

Roy “made it a priority to thank God for the good things he had in life, ensuring that his children appreciated Him, as well,” his obituary reads, adding:

“In essence, Roy laughed and loved his way through life, making the most of each moment he was given.”

Rico has received an outpouring of support from friends, colleagues and social media followers in the wake of this tragedy.

“I love you,” his on-screen mom, Sofia Vergara, Tweeted in response to the milkshake photo above.

We join all of those who have wished Rodriguez well and we send all of Roy’s loved ones our condolences during this difficult time.

Donald Faison Mourns Death of Ex-Wife with a Touching Tribute

With iconic roles in Scrubs and Clueless, we’re used to Donald Faison bringing us so much laughter.

But today, Donald is bringing the tears.

Seriously, this will very likely break your heart.

Because while Donald is happily married to CaCee Cobb these days, she wasn’t his first wife.

In 2001, he married a woman named Lisa Askey, who was a nursing student when they met. They were married for four years, and in that time, they had three children — twins Dade and Kaya, and a son named Kobe.

Unfortunately, Lisa passed away this week.

We don’t yet know what happened, but we do know that Donald and his children are mourning her death … and that they’re moving us to tears.

Donald posted this photo, originally posted by his son Dade (we’re assuming these are the hands of Dade and his mother), and his caption was absolutely heartbreaking.

“My son Dade is very brave,” he wrote. “Today he and his brother Kobe and sister Kaya lost their mother. Lisa Askey Faison.”

“She and I never really saw eye to eye,” he admitted, “but one thing we did share was our love for our children. RIP Lisa. You raised three beautiful children into fine adults and I am forever grateful for that.”

“May god bless your soul with light and love.”

Donald also shared his son’s original tribute, which read “I just wanted to say thank you so much mom! You have been there for me when I needed you most.”

“I can’t believe it has come to this but I know you are in a better place right now. I love you with all my heart and one day we shall meet again.”

“You worked so hard and never gave up no matter how hard times got. R.I.P. mom and until next time!” he finished.

Donald and Lisa’s twins, Dade and Kaya, just turned 18, but their younger son, Kobe, is only 16 years old.

Donald is a very active father, and obviously a very caring father, so we’re sure he’ll be helping his children through what has to be a rough time.

Our condolences to the whole family … they clearly lost a very special woman.

Luke Bryan Mourns Death of Infant Niece

Luke Bryan has spoken out in the wake of his latest family tragedy.

On Tuesday, the country artist sadly lost his niece Sadie Brett Boyer, who born last summer with a number of cardiac problems.

The young girl was the daughter of Luke’s wife’s brother, Bo Boyer, and his wife, Ellen, the latter of whom often provided updates on the child’s health via her Facebook page.

And, on Monday, Ellen shared that her daughter “declined overnight.”

Sadie was reportedly being treated at the time for an infection that affected her liver.

“Please flood the heavens with prayers,” Ellen wrote to friends and family members. “We will not give up on our tough, brave Brett.”

Unfortunately, however, the baby lost her battle and passed away yesterday.

“We thank all of you for your prayers,” the country crooner wrote to his 8.34 million followers in response to their support in the wake of this development.

“Love y’all,” he added.

According to mom Ellen’s Facebook account, Sadie had been seeking treatments in a Nashville hospital for her condition.

On Thursday, February 16, Ellen informed followers that Sadie had her “best week this yet,” adding:

“I am so so grateful and so proud of our girl. She’s fighting so hard!”

Three days later, though, Ellen revealed that her daughter’s health had taken a sharp decline.

“Brett seems to have an infection of some sort. The team is leaning toward blood infection/sepsis. Her blood pressures and her temp have been really low today and got pretty scary low around 3,” she wrote. “

“She is on several antibiotics so our prayer is that they will be the correct ones to treat this infection. … Please pray for the team as they work hard to help our girl.”

This isn’t the first time the 40-year-old country artist has dealt with a family tragedy.

Bryan’s brother, Chris, was died in a car accident in 1995 at the age of 26.

Moreover, his sister, Kelly, passed away in 2007 at her home of undetermined causes. She was only 39 years old at the time.

“My only siblings gone from the world in a flash, in two different, crazy, tragic manners,” Bryan told ABC News in 2013.

A year later, he said in another interview, when these unbearable losses were brought up:

“Losing my brother changed me tremendously and losing Kelly, even more. I literally do not take one second for granted.”

We truly cannot imagine suffering through one of these tragedies, let alone three.

We send our thoughts to Luke Bryan and his family during this very difficult time.

Christian Evans Dies; Ricki Lake Mourns Ex-Husband

Ricki Lake has shared some tragic news with fans.

In an emotional Instagram post, the former talk show host confirmed on Tuesday that her ex-husband, Christian Evans, has passed away.

He was 45 years old.

“It is with a heavy heart that I share that my beloved soulmate, Christian Evans has passed,” Lake wrote as a caption to the above image.

For those unfamiliar with Evans and his struggle, Lake continued:

“The world didn’t understand this man, but I did. He succumbed to his life long struggle with bipolar disorder. For anyone who has ever lost a family member or friend to mental illness, my heart goes out to you.

“I am a greater person for having known him and spent the past 6 and a half years of my life with him. He was a man of love and what mends my broken heart today is knowing that he is finally at peace and his spirit is free.

“Rest in peace, my love.”

Lake and Evans got engaged in August 2011 and eloped in April of the following year.

They were husband and wife for two years.

In October of 2014, The Ricki Lake Show host split from the jewelry designer, filing for divorce a week due to irreconcilable differences.

It wasn’t an amicable break-up, however.

Evans claimed in the divorce that Lake defrauded him in negotiating the prenuptial agreement and attempted setting it aside, asking for more than the couple initially agreed to.

The divorce became final in 2015.

Back in 2011, Lake told People Magazine of Evans:

He’s a “normal guy. We met through my best friend. He’s a nobody, but he’s somebody to me. He’s everything to me.”

In 2012, she told the same publication:

“We just clicked. It just feels like he was the right one all along.”

Lake was previously married to Rob Sussman, with whom she shared a 19-year old son named Milo and a 15-year old son named Owen.

We send our condolences to Ricki Lake and all who knew Christian Evans well.

May he rest in peace.

Jamie Otis Mourns Late Son, Shares New Photo

Jamie Otis has spoken out again about the pain she experienced in July when she lost her son to a miscarriage, four months into her pregnancy.

The Married at First Sight star and husband Doug Hehner endured the worst sort of loss this summer, writing at the time that “there are no words to express the pain and sorrow associated with losing our baby.”

We truly cannot imagine.

Even now, a few months after this tragedy, Otis cannot stop thinking or talking about her late child.

“October is pregnancy and infant loss awareness month. I can’t sleep well tonight so I blogged about my sweet boy, Johnathan Edward,” Otis wrote in the Instagram caption alongside a black-and-white photo of herself and Hehner in the hospital with their tiny boy. “

Added Otis:

“I realize there is a great stigma associated with sharing photos of your baby who was born too early and has already gone to heaven so I want to say sorry if this offends you.

“However, if there’s one thing my husband has taught me it’s this: ‘Don’t live life trying NOT to offend anyone and trying to please everyone."”

Concluded the former reality star:

“I hope by me sharing my sweet boy, Johnny (as Doug and I call him), you’ll realize that he’s a harmless, helpless baby who deserves to be remembered, not hidden away because his image may offend someone.

“And if you’ve lost your baby early, please know that you’re not alone. Unfortunately, 1 in 4 women are affected by this. Yet, no one talks about it. I hope this can change. I’ll be the first in my circle. You be the first in yours.

“My prayers go out to everyone who has lost their sweet baby too early.”

Soon after this terrible loss, Otis wrote a message to little Johnny.

“Not a day goes by that I don’t wake up thinking of you, Baby Hehner,” she wrote in mid-July, adding:

“I know I have to get back to ‘normal life’ but I just don’t know how to. Today daddy and I are going to pick out a perfect name for you. We love you so much.

“I hope you’re bouncing on clouds and feeling loved all the way up in heaven. #ourangel #LoveYou #angelbaby.”

Regarding this latest photo, Otis told Entertainment Tonight that her hope is to spread awareness of something that happens often… yet is rarely talked about.

“I’ve realized that there are SO many women who have experienced a similar loss and feel so isolated from it,” she told that program.

“It wasn’t until I blogged [that I realized that] so many women feel the same way as me. It’s taboo to share photos and talk about miscarriage.

“I really want to desensitize this topic. I want to show [other women who have miscarried] that they aren’t alone, and I want to give them a space where they can share their sweet baby who was taken from the world too early.

“I hope by me sharing my story and my son, Johnny, it helps women who have gone through similar circumstances or who are going through a loss now.”

Concluded Otis:

“Since we lost our son I’ve felt so alone and sad. It’s been one of the worst experiences in my life. My biggest fear is that my sweet little baby will just be forgotten and it will be like he never even existed.

“I wanted to share Johnny so as he looks down from Heaven he’ll know how loved, cherished, and important he still is to his mommy and daddy.”

Johnny was 17 weeks and one day old when he died.

May he rest in peace.

When it comes to the topic dominating all celebrity gossip headlines at the moment:

It"s true. This controversial relationship has come to an end.

Where did Swift and Hiddlesto go wrong? We may never know. We"re not even clear on who dumped whom.

Heck, was the relationship even real at any point? You can vote on that question below:

Especially because he spent so much time with Tom and Taylor. Kind of. Sort of.

Okay, not at all. But still.

According to CNN and other outlets, Nykea Aldridge died while pushing a stroller down a South Side street when a multitude of men started shooting at each other.

She was simply an innocent bystander.

Tweeted Wade in response to the tragedy:

“My cousin was killed today in Chicago. Another act of senseless gun violence. 4 kids lost their mom for NO REASON. Unreal. #EnoughIsEnough.”

CNN has reported that one of the bullets struck Aldridge in the head, while another hit her in an arm.

She died approximately 45 minutes after the shooting at a nearby hospital.

Aldridge’s aunt told an ABC affiliated that she was on her way to an elementary school when she was gunned down.

Two suspects are reportedly in custody.

Wade’s mother, Jolinda Wade, spoke on behalf of the family last night while holding her inconsolable sister close outside the emergency room where Aldridge was pronounced deceased.

“Just sat up on a panel yesterday, The Undefeated, talking about the violence that’s going on within our city of Chicago, never knowing that the next day we would be the ones that would be actually living and experiencing it,” Jolinda Wade said.

“We’re still going to try and help these people to transform their minds and give them a different direction, so this thing won’t keep happening.

“We’re still going to help empower people like the one who senselessly shot my niece in the head.”

Chicago has been hit especially hard by violence this year. More than 2,600 people have been shot in the city, mainly on the South and West sides.

In July, Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul and LeBron James opened the ESPYs by standing on stage and addressing this exact topic in front of a national audience.

They were responding at the time to the Black Lives Matter movement and the rash of African-American deaths at the hands of police officers.

They were also responding to the misguided responses of those who attached members of law enforcement in response to these incidents.

“The endless gun violence in places like Chicago, Dallas, not to mention Orlando, it has to stop. Enough. Enough is enough,” Waed said on stage.

This is not the first time Wade’s family has been touched by gun violence, either.

His nephew, Darin Johnson, was shot twice in the leg in 2012 but recovered.

We send our thoughts, prayers and condolences to the entire Wade family at this time.
