Pete Davidson Deletes Instagram Page. But Why?!?

It is all over for Pete Davidson.

His presence on Instagram, that is.

But also his relationship with Ariana Grande? That’s the major question here, folks.

On Monday, fans took note of Davidson taking an axe to his entire Instagram page — and doing so on the same day that Grande’s ex-fiance, Mac Miller, commented on the singer’s romance with the comedian.

“I was in love with somebody. We were together for two years. We worked through good times, bad times, stress and everything else. And then it came to an end and we both moved on,” Miller said in an interview, adding:

“It’s all positive energy. I am happy for her and [the fact that she’s] moving forward with her life, just as I’m sure she is with me.”

So… why would this prompt Davison to do away with his social media presence?

Does this mean he and Grande really are about to break up?

Not necessarily.

The move also came just hours after Davidson got into it with a few online trolls.

On Sunday, Davidson shared a note on Grande’s recent Instagram post about the artist’s late grandfather in honor of the anniversary of his passing, writing “omg what a cutie.”

Some fans interpreted this remark as one directed at Grande, thinking it was wildly inappropriate of Davidson to comment on his lover’s looks, considering the basis of the photo.

But Davidson grew quickly irritated at anyone making this claim.

“Are you guys all insane?” he wrote to these critics, adding:

“I was talking about how cute her grandpa is. What’s wrong with that? You guys will really look for anything to attack people. It’s sad.”

pd insta

As a result of this frustrating exchange and result, it’s very possible that Davidson deleted his Instagram page because he simply didn’t want to deal with idiots any longer.

It’s very possible he and Grande are happier than ever and really may get married in the near future.

The thing is… Davidson made this decision shortly after Grande Tweeted something cryptic:

“The energy u put out is exactly what u get back, please create a beautiful life for yourselves.”

Could this have been directed at the aforementioned trolls? Yes.

Could it also have been directed at Davidson? Yes.

This is the price Ariana and Pete are going to need to pay until they’re together for a very long time.

That’s what happens when you get engaged after about a month of dating; questions arise quickly and easily regarding the stability of your relationship.

Recently, for example, Grande had to defend her choice to include the song “Pete” on her upcoming album “Sweetener.”

“He’s my fiancé. This is my album. I’m an honest and emotional artist and human being and if my openness in my work isn’t for you, that’s OK,” she wrote to one fan, concluding:

“I won’t be offended. Still wishing y’all all the love in the world.”

But do Ariana and Pete have real, true, long-lasting love for each other?

That’s the big question.

Ellen Page and Emma Portner: MARRIED!

Ellen Page didn’t just flip the calendar to 2018 this week.

She flipped her marital status from single to…

… MARRIED!

The actress took social media followers and fans around the globe by extreme shock on Wednesday night when she confirmed that she recently exchanged vows with girlfriend Emma Portner.

“Can’t believe I get to call this extraordinary woman my wife,” the former Juno star wrote on Wednesday, tagging Portner in a post that included one very special photo.

The photo featured Page and Portner’s hands, fingers barely touching, wedding rings on full display for all to see.

Portner also announced the surprise marriage on her Instagram page, using the same sweet snapshot and writing as a caption:

 “@ellenpage I LOVE YOU.”

page rings

The actress first started sharing photos with Portner on social media over the summer.

A teacher at the Broadway Dance Center, the new Mrs. Ellen Page originally hails from Ottawa, Ontario, according to her biography on the dance school’s website.

Page and Portner have a number of interpretive dance videos online together, while the newlyweds have also occasionally sang cover songs as a duo.

Before romancing Portner, the Oscar nominee went steady with Samantha Thomas from September 2015 to early 2017.

In 2014, Page came out as gay at a Human Rights Campaign event in an inspiring speech that earned her a standing ovation at the time.

“I’m here today because I am gay,” Page told the crowd, adding:

“And because maybe I can make a difference. To help others have an easier and more hopeful time. Regardless, for me, I feel a personal obligation and a social responsibility.”

She concluded as follows:

“You have ideas planted in your head, thoughts you never had before, that tell you how you have to act, how you have to dress and who you have to be.

“I have been trying to push back, to be authentic, to follow my heart, but it can be hard.”

Shortly after making this announcement, Page appeared opposite Ellen DeGeneres on the latter’s talk show and said:

“I knew I would be a happier person. I knew that I was gonna feel better and I did not anticipate just how happy I would feel in just every aspect of my life.

“Just an ease and a comfort and it’s really been quite extraordinary to feel just the shift. It was pretty much overnight.”

That’s so wonderful to hear.

And so is this news about her marriage.

Congrats to Ellen Page and Emma Portner!

Kim Kardashian: Throwing Shade at Taylor Swift on Selena Gomez"s Instagram Page?!

When confronted with unnecessary drama, we often remark that the situation is “like something out of high school.”

The sad truth that we don’t want to admit to ourselves is that the adult world is frequently characterized by pettiness, backstabbing, grudges, and rumors, and high school is just our earliest exposure to it.

Take the the three-way shade-fest between Kim Kardashian Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez, for example.

As you may recall, the Kim vs. Taylor feud began last year, when Swift got upset over some lyrics on Kanye West’s album, and Kim busted out the receipts proving that Taylor had (as Kanye claimed) given him permission to record the offending line.

It was a mess, and Swift came away from it looking shady AF, but until recently, it looked as though Kim and Taylor had put their beef behind them.

Considering they’re two of the world’s most influential women, they’re 36 and 27 years old, respectively, and one of them is soon to be a mother of three, letting bygones be bygones seemed like the most appropriate course of action.

That’s where Selena Gomez enters the equation.

Selena, as you may know, has a lot on her plate these days, what with being the recipient of a life-saving kidney transplant and rekindling her romance with arguably the world’s most famous recording artist.

So these days, Selena probably has very little time for Mean Girl drama, but the same can’t be said of Kim “Cool Mom” Kardashian.

According to Hollywood Life, Kim has been “liking” and “favoriting” Selena’s social media posts non-stop lately.

The site insists its Kim’s way of “taunting” Selena’s bestie, Taylor Swift.

That’s a bit of a stretch, but it’s a holiday week, and content that doesn’t include the word “grope” is hard to come by these days, so we’ll allow it.

Sure, it’s possible that Kim was liking Selena’s Instagram selfies simply because she liked the selfies, but where’s the fun in that?

Those party poopers over at Gossip Cop have taken things a step further, suggesting that all those “likes” might be Kim’s way of extending an olive branch to Taylor.

We literally can’t think of a more lame-ass, timid, roundabout way of getting back into someone’s good graces, and Kim doesn’t strike us as the shy type, so we’re gonna go ahead and toss that notion.

It’s one thing to meticulously dissect a situation in search of drama, but to squash it?

Didn’t these people to to high school?!

Ellen Page: Brett Ratner Outed Me, Was a Disgusting Creep

We already know that more than six women have accused Brett Ratner of sexual harassment and worse. Following the initial story, more women began contacting publications with their own allegations against the director.

The latest woman in Hollywood to share her #MeToo story was Ellen Page. And she describes experiencing horrifying, homophobic harassment from Ratner while she was still a teenager.

And Ellen’s experience with Brett Ratner isn’t the only one that she’s sharing from her teenage years in the entertainment industry.

Ellen’s lengthy post on Facebook begins … bluntly.

“‘You should f–k her to make her realize she’s gay.’ He said this about me during a cast and crew ‘meet and greet’ before we began filming, X Men: The Last Stand. I was eighteen years old.”

“He looked at a woman standing next to me, ten years my senior, pointed to me and said: ‘You should f–k her to make her realize she’s gay.’ He was the film’s director, Brett Ratner.”

That’s disgusting.

In case there’s any doubt, costar Anna Paquin has tweeted that she stands with Ellen Page, and was present for that particular comment.

Ellen continues:

“I was a young adult who had not yet come out to myself. I knew I was gay, but did not know, so to speak. I felt violated when this happened. I looked down at my feet, didn’t say a word and watched as no one else did either.”

Ellen Page is one of the most famous young gay women in Hollywood, but sexuality is complicated. Deciding when to come out is more so.

No one should be outed, particularly in such a disgusting way.

“This man, who had cast me in the film, started our months of filming at a work event with this horrific, unchallenged plea. He “outed” me with no regard for my well-being, an act we all recognize as homophobic.”

That wasn’t the end of it.

“I proceeded to watch him on set say degrading things to women. I remember a woman walking by the monitor as he made a comment about her “flappy pussy.””

Ugh.

“This public, aggressive outing left me with long standing feelings of shame, one of the most destructive results of homophobia. Making someone feel ashamed of who they are is a cruel manipulation, designed to oppress and repress. I was robbed of more than autonomy over my ability to define myself.”

Remember, there are still young actors whoa re advised against coming out when they get to Hollywood.

Sexuality can influence your career. It can also impact how fans perceive you.

(In recent decades, the prevalence of the name “Ellen” has taken a plunge exactly twice — once, when Ellen DeGeneres came out. Another when Ellen Page came out. Bigotry is still all around us)

“Ratner’s comment replayed in my mind many times over the years as I encountered homophobia and coped with feelings of reluctance and uncertainty about the industry and my future in it. The difference is that I can now assert myself and use my voice to to fight back against the insidious queer- and transphobic attitude in Hollywood and beyond.”

It’s so good that she uses her platform to make the world a better place.

“Hopefully having the position I have, I can help people who may be struggling to be accepted and allowed to be who they are –to thrive. Vulnerable young people without my advantages are so often diminished and made to feel they have no options for living the life they were meant to joyously lead.”

There was more between her and Brett Ratner, however.

“I got into an altercation with Brett at a certain point. He was pressuring me, in front of many people, to don a t-shirt with ‘Team Ratner’ on it.”

Who would want to wear a shirt like that?

“I said no and he insisted. I responded, ‘I am not on your team.’ Later in the day, producers of the film came to my trailer to say that I ‘couldn’t talk like that to him."”

This is where the huge power imbalance between young actors and big-name directors comes into play.

“I was being reprimanded, yet he was not being punished nor fired for the blatantly homophobic and abusive behavior we all witnessed. I was an actor that no one knew. I was eighteen and had no tools to know how to handle the situation.”

Sadly, her experience at 18 wasn’t Ellen’s first foray into harassment in Hollywood.

“I have been a professional actor since the age of ten. I’ve had the good fortune to work with many honorable and respectful collaborators both behind and in front of the camera.”

But

“But the behavior I’m describing is ubiquitous. They (abusers), want you to feel small, to make you insecure, to make you feel like you are indebted to them, or that your actions are to blame for their unwelcome advances.”

Sadly, that is so true.

“When I was sixteen a director took me to dinner (a professional obligation and a very common one). He fondled my leg under the table and said, ‘You have to make the move, I can’t."”

Probably so that he could, if caught, throw up his hands and say “she came onto me!” Which shouldn’t matter.

But, by our reasoning, groping someone’s leg and telling her to make a move is the first move and the second.

Ellen Page got away, but it was a rude awakening about her professional life.

“I did not make the move and I was fortunate to get away from that situation. It was a painful realization: my safety was not guaranteed at work.”

Let that sink in for a moment.

“An adult authority figure for whom I worked intended to exploit me, physically.”

And it got worse.

“I was sexually assaulted by a grip months later.”

Horrible. No one should have to endure that.

“I was asked by a director to sleep with a man in his late twenties and to tell them about it. I did not. This is just what happened during my sixteenth year, a teenager in the entertainment industry.”

Ellen Page almost seems to count herself lucky — when she talks about others in Hollywood who have been preyed upon and died too soon.

“Look at the history of what’s happened to minors who’ve described sexual abuse in Hollywood. Some of them are no longer with us, lost to substance abuse and suicide. Their victimizers? Still working. Protected even as I write this.”

Naming abusers — even if we all know who we’re talking about — carries heavy risks. Massive lawsuits, blackmail conspiracies. A sternly worded legal letter can be enough to make some claims go away.

We’ve recently heard new claims about Corey Haim’s abusers, but unfortunately Ellen Page could be talking about so many different young victims of predatory men in power.

“You know who they are; they’ve been discussed behind closed doors as often as Weinstein was. If I, a person with significant privilege, remain reluctant and at such risk simply by saying a person’s name, what are the options for those who do not have what I have?”

That’s a good point. We shouldn’t shame people for remaining silent out of fear.

But we can still praise Ellen Page for coming forward with her #MeToo story.

Justin Bieber: Stolen Nude Photos Appear on Selena Gomez"s Instagram Page

Every time a new round of explicit photos stolen from a celebrity’s private collection goes public, there’s a renewed outcry to tighten security and ramp up enforcement of existing laws.

Unfortunately, most of the time, the perpertators go unpunished, and it’s not long before a new round of celebrity nudes goes public.

The latest victim is Justin Bieber, and in a bizarre twist, Bieber’s ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez was also victimized by the hackers.

According to TMZ, several nude photos of Bieber appeared on Gomez’s Instagram page Monday afternoon.

The site reports that the hackers captioned the photo with lewd comments about Bieber and boasts about their hacking abilities.

“LOOK AT THIS N-GGA LIL SHRIMPY,” they wrote, before encouraging users to follow three Instagram accounts, each of which only has a handful of posts, but several thousand followers.

“We run da scene,” they concluded.

Gomez quickly deactivated her account after the hack.

She is now back on Instagram, and has not yet publicly commented on the incident.

Bieber has also not yet commented on the situation, and it’s possible that both singers will simply refuse to acknowledge the hackers, as they seem to be seeking notoriety.

This is not the first time that Bieber has been hacked, and sadly, it looks as though it may not be the last.

There are those who have argued that like obnoxious paparazzi and over-zealous fans, a lack of digital priivacy is just a reality of life as a celebrity in the 21st century.

The problem with that argument, of course, is that sharing someone’s nude photos without their consent constitutes a sex crime, and a world where famous people are forced to come to accept being victimized by sexual predators, is surely one that none of us wants to live in.

We don’t pretend to have the answer to the growing problem, but we’re certain that a complacent shrug is not the solution.

This time, the photos were removed quickly, but both Justin and Selena have no doubt been left with lingering feelings of vulnerability.

Both celebrities and non-famous folks who have been victims of hacks are accutely aware of a reality that most of us do are best to ignore at 2017:

Each of us is more exposed than ever before, and few among of us have any real sense of what it takes to keep out personal data safe.

Today it’s Justin Bieber, but tomorrow it could be anyone.
