Cardi B Denies Responsibility for Transphobic Meme on Her Facebook Page

Cardi B says a transphobic meme that showed up on her Facebook page this weekend wasn’t her doing and blames a former “team member” who had access to her account. The meme in question is a highly edited screen grab of Rolf from the show “Ed, Edd n…

PewDiePie Apologizes for Offensive Demi Lovato Meme

PewDiePie has issued a mea culpa for being a misguided, insensitive, offensive moron.

Three days after Demi Lovato was hospitalized for a drug overdose, the YouTube star thought it would be funny to make fun of the singer and her situation.

How could it not be, right?

This is a young woman who has batted self-esteem issues and mental health issues for years… who had admitted to having suicidal thoughts at the age of seven… and who nearly died after a night of hard and dangerous partying this week.

Talk about prime material for a joke, right?!?

Yes, according to PewDiePie.

Shortly after news broke about Lovato’s overdose, PewDiePie (what kind of name is PewDiePie?!?) shared a meme online that depicted the trouble artist asking her mother for money in order to buy a burger.

After receiving the money, however, Lovato turns around and buys heroin instead.

Here is the since-deleted image:

demi meme

demi meme

A couple of quick thoughts come to mind:

FIRST, this simply isn’t funny. Like, at all.

If you’re going to go out on an offensive limb to crack a joke, you better make sure it’s a funny joke.

This is just dumb and non-sensical. (Why would Lovato need to borrow cash from her mother? The whole thing makes no sense.)

SECOND, what the heck is wrong with you, PewDiePie?!?

We weren’t the only ones asking this question, as the YouTuber was forced to take down his stupid meme and then issue a statement in the wake of severe backlash.

“Deleted meme,” he wrote to start his apology, which concluded as follows:

“I didnt mean anything with it and I didnt fully know about the situation. I realize now it was insensitive, sorry!”

PewDiePie says

Please, dude.

You knew that Lovato overdosed on heroin (it has since been reported that the substance actually was NOT heroin) and you went ahead and posted that meme.

What misinterpretation about the situation are you claiming here?

Lovato, tragically, was found unconscious by her assistant around 11 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

This assistant then dialed 911 (listen to the call HERE) and paramedics revived the star prior to taking her to the hospital.

It is believed that Demi will soon head to a treatment facility somewhere far away from Los Angeles, but this has not yet been confirmed by the singer or anyone close to her.

It is simply what various anonymous insiders have reported.

In the meantime, practically everyone in Hollywood has sent his or her best wishes, as an entire industry worries about a young woman who has been so open over the years about her substance abuse issues.

We are all just praying she gets better.

And hoping she knows how many folks out there love her.

Kanye West Says Slavery Was a Choice, Accidentally Spawns a Meme

On top of espousing his love for Trump, sporting a MAGA hat, and claiming to have "dragon energy," Kanye West decided to also essentially blame black people for slavery.

It did not go over well. At all. And neither did Kanye"s attempted explanation.

Since Kim Kardashian has insisted that this is not a mental health issue, and since mental health advocates are discouraging people from blaming mental illness for bad behavior, many are left to assume that Kanye is just … bad.

Or at least suffering from the Dunning-Kruger Effect.

After this latest claim, that 400 years of slavery was somehow a choice that black people made, Black Twitter was all over it.

In real life, people know that slaves were separated from their families, forbidden to read or write, forced to abandon their religions, shackled, and often mutilated as punishment.

But, in order to satirize the absurdity of Kanye"s claims, these hilarious tweets try to imagine a world where slavery somehow was a choice.

The results are much, much funnier than the very grim subject matter. Take a look:

1. Imagine clocking out of slavery

Kanye slavery choice meme 01 clocked out

If slavery were a choice, many imagine that it would be similar to working today. Which can be less than fun, but definitely isn’t like real slavery.

2. So THAT was the secret!

Kanye slavery choice meme 02 text stop

The number that she chose is not random. It of course refers to the date of the Civil War.

3. Whoops!

Kanye slavery choice meme 03 select no

If only real life had been so civilized.

4. Some imagined how they’d choose masters

Kanye slavery choice meme 04 careerbuilder slavecare

“Slavecare” is a hell of an idea. Oh no, we hope that the writers of HBO’s trainwreck of a series “Confederate” don’t see this.

5. One "job" title was clearly coveted

Kanye slavery choice meme 05 house gif

Even slaves have varying levels of status. That’s a grim fact from history.

6. If it’s a choice, they could have said "no"

Kanye slavery choice meme 06 no thanks

Again, if only the colonizers and slavers had been more civilized.

Jennifer Garner Has Epiphany, Is Now the Ultimate Meme

The 90th annual Academy Awards was not chock full of many surprises.

The expected actresses, actors, directors and movies all took home the major trophies, prompting social media users to get a bit desperate in terms of what they had to comment on.

Enter Jennifer Garner.

At one point in the ceremony, the actress was clapping…onlyto stop suddenly and appear to come to some kind of realization.

About what? That"s the question!

And Twitter is here to offer a few answers…

1. The Act That Started It All

Jennifer garner oscars meme

What did Jennifer Garner just realize? This is what social media decided to ponder after the actress stopped clapping at the Oscars and made THIS face.

2. Take It Away, Twitterverse!

We start with ESPN employee Jemele Hill, who had a thought on this topic.

3. Inclusion What Now?!?

I do like anything that involves “inclusion,” but I may need some more information here.

4. Maybe Ben Can Turn It Off?

But he’s probably drunk right now. Darn it!

5. I Don’t Know What She’s Thinking

Chrissy Teigen Slams Seal For Oprah-Bashing Meme

There are random feuds, and then there’s whatever the hell this is.

As you may have heard, millions of grownups want Oprah to run for president because she made a nice speech at the Golden Globes, and having a former TV star in the White House is currently working out so well for us.

But apparently Oprah only managed to win over roughly 99.99999 percent of the Earth’s population.

Sadly, she’s missing the all-important Seal vote.

Yes, Heidi Klum’s ex holds opinions on matters other than which flower is the most kissable.

(Surprisingly, it’s the one with all the thorns.)

For instance, he belongs to the microscopic minority that believes Batman Forever is the finest superhero film ever produced.

And he also thinks Oprah needs to sit her ass down because she’s just another Hollywood heathen.

Oprah Meme

Seal posted the above meme to Instagram this week, and in case it was too subtle for you, he did whatever the British equivalent of spiking the football is with this scathing caption:

“Oh I forgot, that’s right…..you’d heard the [rumors] but you had no idea he was actually serially assaulting young [starry]-eyed actresses who in turn had no idea what they were getting into. My bad. #SanctimoniousHollywood.”

Yes, Seal is accusing Oprah of being complicit in the Harvey Weinstein sex scandals.

Because now is a great time to dogpile on women and blame them for the revolting actions of a disgusting dude.

Fortunately, powerful females like Oprah and Meryl Streep–both of whom have been crucified for having once associating with a guy who was later accused of rape–have an equally powerful defender in Chrissy Teigen.

You may be thinking that Oprah can certainly fight her own battles, and you would be right.

But she also can’t stoop to the level of being with freakin’ Seal on Instagram.

For that, she needs a pitbull like Chrissy in her corner.

The model and media personality basically burned Seal to the ground with a single comment on his dumb anti-Oprah meme.

“Hmm. Let’s just say we’ve all heard things about each other, haven’t we?” she wrote.

Teigen didn’t go into detail, but clearly, she’s got the goods on ya boy Seal.

Here’s hoping he tries to call her bluff and she pulls the trigger.

Or should we say … seals the deal?

We’ll show ourselves out.

Cutest Mom Ever Creates First Meme.. And It Goes Viral!

Perhaps you heard (approximately six million times), but there was a total eclipse this past Monday.

The Internet went even crazier for it than it went for the last Kim Kardashian nude pictorial, with infrequent users even getting in on the action.

Take the mother of a 21-year old named Sasha who uses the Twitter handle @Junglefushimi, for example.

As documented below, this woman created her first meme in honor of the historic occasion… and she was REALLY proud of it.

She told her daughter she hoped it would go viral, and the Internet was only too happy to oblige!

1. This is the Meme the Mother Made

This is the meme the mother made

We’ve seen far worse. As X-Men franchise fans, we strongly approve.

2. I Made That!

I made that

Think it can go “viral?” That’s what the kids call it, right?

3. Just Call Me… Memer Mom!

Just call me memer mom

Did I really go viral? Hooray!

4. Everyone Loves Memer Mom

Everyone loves memer mom

She’s cute AND helpful.

5. A Plus?

This is setting the bar a little low. We’d give it a B. Let Memer Mom work for that A.

More like excellent mom!

Ivanka Trump"s Magazine Cover Gets the Meme Treatment from Twitter

The Trump family might not be making too many people happy these days, but they sure are providing the internet with a lot of entertainment.

This time, it"s Ivanka who"s spawning Twitter memes.

In an almost comical ploy for sympathy and brand distance, Ivanka Trump appeared on the cover of Us Weekly with

The headline, "Ivanka Takes A Stand: Why I Disagree With My Dad," was a beautifully giftwrapped present that Twitter opened with great alacrity.

Sure, some people just mocked the headline, referring to it as "Daddy, You"re Hurting My Brand!" But others got a little more creative with it.

From reimagined versions of the cover to references to popular culture — particularly when it comes to parent-child conflicts — Twitter had no shortage of fun parodies of Ivanka"s headline.

But first, the original magazine cover.

1. Nice Try, Ivanka

Ivanka us weekly cover

More like “Why My Brand Needs Distance From My Dad,” right?

2. Spot The Difference …

Ivanka us weekly memes 01

This one’s almost the same, but just a bit more honest.

3. Star Wars Reference Number One

Ivanka us weekly memes 02

What’s more quintessentially Star Wars than disagreeing with your dad? And don’t say lightsabers …

4. If She Doesn’t Get What She Wants …

Ivanka us weekly memes 03

This one might actually be TOO accurate. Ugh.

5. Nice Game of Thrones Reference

Ivanka us weekly memes 04

Does this one technically qualify as “potty humor?”

6. Star Wars Reference Number Two

Ivanka us weekly memes 05

A second dose of Star Wars dad-disagreements; this time with Carrie Fisher feels.

Rihanna Hilariously Claps Back at Body-Shamers with Gucci Mane Meme!

Forget every politician you’ve ever loved or hated — memes are the real great communicators.

And that’s exactly how Rihanna’s seen fit to respond to body-shaming. With a meme.

Bless her, honestly.

Rihanna’s kind of amazing.

Her music is wonderful and she’s a stellar performer.

… Though Tom Holland did recently one-up her performance of Umbrella. But that’s no insult to her.

Unfortunately, like all female celebrities and most female humans, she’s subject to body-shaming.

Part of it’s standard misogyny familiar to many women, part of it’s her celebrity status meaning that all eyes are on her.

Some people just can’t resist wondering if she’s pregnant if the wind so much as makes her top billow out in front.

So, as you can imagine, these same people had a field day when she showed up wearing an outfit that could have covered two Rihannas.

That’s a baggy outfit, sure.

Baggy enough that, in addition to an infamous “Is Rihanna going to make being fat the hot new trend?” article, pregnancy rumors resurfaced with gusto.

But if every time that people wore baggy clothes, it meant a pregnancy, we’d live in a world of perpetual, universal pregnancy.

And no small number of “medical miracles,” since there’s no shortage of cisgender men who favor loose-fitting clothes.

Well, Rihanna finally clapped back.

She’s known for being pretty savvy about social media and memes in particular — so she’s in way less of a celebrity bubble than most.

Gucci Meme

Now, this meme isn’t exactly body-positive.

Or nice to Gucci Mane.

Or nice to overweight people in general, if we’re being honest.

But she didn’t invent it — she’s just using it to communicate.

Her point? It’s a little ambiguous, since memes have a lot to do with context.

But we think that part of it is poking fun at the people who are obsessed with her body size.

Another part is just the meme’s straightforward meaning — that even if she were fat, she’d still be Rihanna.

Any of her real fans will still adore her.

She’s not gonna care about the haters either way.

Perhaps, even more to the point, it was an indirect way of saying that yes, she’s seen that nasty Barstool Sports article floating around.

This is exactly how we’d expect her to respond: coyly and with a meme.

Remember, this is the woman who’s currently planning to do a film with Lupita Nyong’o based on a popular Tumblr post.

Rihanna’s an artist of the people, and she knows how to speak their language.

Chris Rock DISSES Selena Gomez With Mean Beyonce Meme!

Whoa, Chris Rock. What you got against Selena Gomez?

The comedian is constantly cracking jokes, and the butt of his latest is Ms. Gomez.

Rock recently posted a meme that includes a photo of the singer in a gold bodysuit and reads, “When you buy your formation tickets on craigslist.”

“Formation,” of course, is the name of Beyonce’s latest album and tour.

Queen Bey is also loves to rock bodysuits during stage performances, so Rock seems to imply that Selena is some kind of lesser version of the “Formation” singer.

“This is true,” he tweeted alongside the meme.

Pretty harsh. Admittedly kinda funny, though.

The simple tweet unleashed an all-out war between Selena and Beyonce fans alike.

“This is literally so stupid im so pissed! I’d go see Selena over Beyonce anyday,” wrote one SelGo supporter.

Naturally, the Beyhive was on alert as well.

“Selena can’t sing. Don’t compare her to beyonce,” wrote one member.

And, of course, Rock took some heat himself.

“When nobody will buy your stand up comedy tickets so you come on Twitter to slander someone more successful than you,” wrote one angry fan.

Selena has not responded to the tweet herself, but she is currently on tour promoting her “Revival” album and not thinking about Justin Bieber.

Rock was recently taken to task for a far more offensive joke during the 2016 Academy Awards, when he brought three Asian kids to the stage and joked about them being accountants and also child laborers.

Kim Kardashian: SHADED By Beyonce Fans With Cruel Meme

The internet is an unsafe place, folks.

Especially when you’re Kim Kardashian, who is ironically one of the most popular and most hated celebrities on the planet.

Kim can be annoying as all get-out, and sometimes she deserves the criticism she gets.

But we’re not sure why she’s being targeted in the latest campaign by Beyonce fans.

The shade comes in the form of a meme that juxtaposes photos of both women wearing braids in their hair.

The first, an image used from Beyonce’s visual album “Lemonade,” which dropped last week to rave reviews from fans.

The second, a pic of Kim with the words “Tap Water” written across the image.

Hardcore.

Witty, okay, but why is the Beyhive so mad at Kim?

Who knows? It seems that these days, the busy Beys are set off by nearly anything.

They went hard on Rachel Roy earlier this week after they suspected that she was “Becky,” Jay Z’s alleged mistress.

The swarm also went after Rachael Ray, Rita Ora, Iggy Azalea, Wendy Williams, and finally, the cheater Jay Z himself.

So what does Kim have to do with any of this?

It could be because Kim has a longtime friendship with Rachel, which means the selfie queen is somehow guilty by association.

(It should be noted that Kim has not commented on Beyonce, Rachel or the entire “Becky” situation since the allegations came to light.)

Or it’s possible that Bey fans are dissing Kim for cultural appropriation by styling her hair in boxer braids, as “Lemonade” has been hailed as an ode to strong black women.

Whatever the case, we think it’s time for the Beyhive to put their stingers away.

This is one rare instance when Kim really didn’t ask for any of this.

Wentworth Miller Responds to Fat-Shaming Meme With Heartbreaking Open Letter

Though best known for his work on Prison Break and The Flash, Wentworth Miller has a number of impressive accomplishments to his name.

Miller is a Princeton grad, an accomplished screenwriter, and as of this week, an advocate for others who have been bullied on social media:

The above meme went viral on Instagram this week, prompting Miller, who has spoken about his struggles with depression and anxiety in the past, to post a moving open letter to his Facebook page.

In a post that hs accrued more than half a million likes in less than 24 hours, Miller writes:

In 2010, semi-retired from acting, I was keeping a low-profile for a number of reasons. First and foremost, I was suicidal. This is a subject I’ve since written about, spoken about, shared about. But at the time I suffered in silence. As so many do.

“The extent of my struggle known to very, very few. Ashamed and in pain, I considered myself damaged goods. And the voices in my head urged me down the path to self-destruction. Not for the first time.

“In 2010, at the lowest point in my adult life, I was looking everywhere for relief/comfort/distraction. And I turned to food. It could have been anything. Drugs. Alcohol. Sex.

“But eating became the one thing I could look forward to. Count on to get me through. There were stretches when the highlight of my week was a favorite meal and a new episode of TOP CHEF. Sometimes that was enough. Had to be.

“And I put on weight. Big f–king deal…One day, out for a hike in Los Angeles with a friend, we crossed paths with a film crew shooting a reality show. Unbeknownst to me, paparazzi were circling.

“They took my picture, and the photos were published alongside images of me from another time in my career. ‘Hunk To Chunk.’ ‘Fit To Flab.’ Etc.”

Miller goes on to say that a friend of his mother’s first alerted him to the photo in a tabloid.

He says he was at first horrified to see it resurface as a meme – but then found inspiration in the reminder of his darkest days:

“Now, when I see that image of me in my red t-shirt, a rare smile on my face, I am reminded of my struggle. My endurance and my perseverance in the face of all kinds of demons. Some within. Some without.

“The first time I saw this meme pop up in my social media feed, I have to admit, it hurt to breathe. But as with everything in life, I get to assign meaning. And the meaning I assign to this/my image is Strength. Healing. Forgiveness…Of myself and others.”

Miller concluded by encouraging those who are suffering to seek help and offering a list of websites that can provide assistance.

This, of course, isn’t the first time that the actor has been praised for using his personal struggles to inspire to others.

Miller came out as gay in 2013 after spending most of his public life in the closet.

Then, as now, he was hailed for his powerful words and the example he set for young fans.

Like all actors, Miller has no obligation to be so open about the difficulties he’s endured – but there are certainly many who appreciate it.

Justin Bieber Mocks Steve Harvey Gaffe with "Sorry" Meme

Sorry, Steve Harvey.

But Justin Bieber is not really sorry.

A day after Harvey made the PR mistake to end all PR mistakes, Bieber has joined the chorus of those who are giving the comedian some guff for his gaffe.

On Sunday night, Harvey hosted the Miss Universe pageant, coming out toward the end to announce the competition’s winner.

Only he announced the wrong winner, initially crowning Miss Colombia before admitting he had made a mistake and handing the hardware to Miss Philippines instead.

Here. Take a look for yourself:

In light of the snafu, Donald Trump Tweeted that the situation was “very sad” and even came out with a decent idea as a resolution.

As for Bieber, well, check out the meme above.

He came across a meme on Instagram that featured Harvey’s face superimposed over his own, along with the song lyric “Is it too late now to say sorry?”

“It’s so sad but this is too funny had to post no disrespect,” Bieber wrote as a caption upon sharing the image.

Clearly, Bieber mean some disrespect here.

He used the plight of someone else as a source of humor for himself.

But Steve Harvey accidentally said the wrong name of a beauty pageant winner here. It isn’t exactly the end of the world.

In 2015, it’s probably a far bigger deal that competitions still even exist in which women are judged on their bodies, their evening gowns and their answers to dumb questions.

But that’s a question for another time, we suppose.

What do you think of Bieber mocking Harvey’s mistake?
