Aaron Hernandez: Late NFL Star Suffered "Severe CTE," Autopsy Reveals
It’s quite possible that there’s no more tragic story in the history of professional football than that of Aaron Hernandez.
Back in 2015, Hernandez was convicted of first-degree murder in connection with the death of Odin Lloyd.
In April, the world was shocked by the news that Hernandez had taken his own life inside his cell at the Souza-Barankowski Correctional Facility in Lancaster, Massachusetts.
Today, Hernandez’s autopsy results have been made public, and they confirm what many who followed his case closely have long suspected.
Doctors have revealed to The New York Times that the 27-year-old was suffering from CTE, a brain injury that’s shockingly common to football players.
According to the Times a team of neurologists stated that their examination revealed “the most severe case they had ever seen in someone of Aaron’s age.”
Sadly, the news does not come as much of a surprise.
CTE has had devastating effects on innumerable football players, both professional and otherwise.
The condition has been linked to the suicides of Junior Seau and Tyler Sash, the decline of late New York Giants legend Frank Gifford, and countless other NFL stars.
It seems impossible that we’ll ever understand the full impact of the disease on America’s best-loved sport.
But today, we know a little bit more about the devastating impact it’s had on Aaron Hernandez, Odin Lloyd, and their loved ones.
Now, Hernandez’s fiancee, Shayanna Jenkins, is suing the NFL and the New England Patriots as a result of the diagnosis.
Lawyers for Jenkins claim “Aaron had stage 3 CTE usually seen in players with a median age of death of 67 years.”
The suit filed this afternoon claims that the Patriots “were fully aware of the damage that could be inflicted from repetitive impact injuries and failed to disclose, treat or protect him from the dangers of such damage.”
Attorneys say that Jenkins, who has a 4-year-old daughter with Hernandez, is seeking “redress for the loss of parental consortium she has experienced based on the negligent conduct of Defendants that deprived her of the companionship and society of her father, Aaron Hernandez.”
The suit concludes by stating bluntly:
“On April 19, 2017, Aaron succumbed to the symptoms of CTE and committed suicide.”

Antonio Banderas: Suffered Major Heart Attack?!
At this point in time, thanks to his many, many legendary film roles, his fragrances, and his face, it’s pretty safe to say that Antonia Banderas is an international treasure.
But at 56 years old, he’s not as young as he used to be. And no one can say that the man hasn’t done a whole lot of living.
So it shouldn’t have come as surprise when Antonia revealed last night that he suffered a heart attack back in January, you know?
But still, it really, really did.
As you may remember, we heard back in January that he was taken to a hospital just outside London because he’d began feeling pains in his chest while exercising.
At the time, his rep claimed in a statement that “Antonio was released that same day after doctors performed a check-up which confirmed his good health.”
Sounds like no big deal, right?
Wrong.
Last night, Antonio made an appearance at the Malaga Film Festival, and he admitted what really went down.
“I suffered a heart attack on January 26th,” he explained. “It was a benign attack, it hasn’t caused any permanent damage and now I’m in a recovery period.”
“It was something that happens every day to a lot of people,” he added. “I didn’t hide it, but I didn’t want it to receive more importance than those suffered by other people.”
He also said that though doctors implanted three stents to help out with those narrowed arteries in his heart, “It wasn’t as dramatic as it was made out to be.”
And while it sounds pretty damn dramatic to us, apparently he really did get released that same day.
He was also well enough to pose for a selfie with his girlfriend, Nikole Kimpel, and to throw it up on Instagram just a few days after the heart attack.
“Enjoying nature after a startle,” he captioned the photo.
Bless his heart.
The issue that brought on the heart attack, he explained last night, was likely the stress he’s experienced for decades. After all, he’s worked a lot during his career, and it’s involved an unbelievable amount of traveling.
“I’m now reviewing a lot of things,” he said, to get his health under control.
And it’s a good thing, too — just last week, he reportedly experienced more chest pains, bad enough to go to another hospital.
He claimed that that hospital visit was just a check-up, but if he’s able to hide a heart attack for two months, we wouldn’t hold our breath on that one.
Feel better, Antonio. Please.

Kanye West Suffered Near-Total Memory Loss After Breakdown: Report
Back in November, Kanye West was hospitalized after suffering an emotional breakdown.
Little is known about the rapper’s recovery process, other than the fact that he spent more than two weeks receiving in-patient care at an LA hospital and that he and Kim Kardashian lived in separate homes after his release.
These days, Kim and Kanye are cohabiting once again, but it seems Kanye’s treatment process is far from over.
West was not in attendance at the 2017 Grammy Awards on Sunday night, but his protege, Malik Yusef, attended on his behalf.
During a candid red carpet interview, Yusef opened up about West’s condition and made the startling revelation that the music icon is struggling with profound memory loss:
“His memory is coming back, which is super good. He’s healing,” Yusuf said.
“He’s spending time with his family. Saint is big and he’s walking and playing with toys, so that invigorates him,” Yusuf added.
Kanye canceled his Saint Pablo tour shortly before his breakdown, and his protege and collaborator says fans shouldn’t hold out hope for new music any time soon.
“He’s not working, just going through processes,” Yusuf says.
So the good news it: Kanye is on the mend.
The bad news is that it sounds as though he’s at the beginning of a long and difficult healing process.
Back in Kanye expressed support for Donald Trump, which is a recognized symptom of severe mental illness.
Just kidding, Trumpers!
West has since dialed back his endorsement of the president, deleting all tweets mentioning Trump’s name and stating that he in no way supports Trump’s controversial Muslim ban.
If nothing else, the fact that he’s back on the same political page as his wife and in-laws has gotta be making life a lot easier at home.
Clearly, there’s no telling when Kanye might be back to his old, prolific self, but regardless of your feelings about him, the man’s commitment to his art is unparalleled.
Hopefully, he’ll soon be able to incorporate his creative process into his healing.
The raw, confessional nature of Kanye’s music has always been one of the things that sets him apart from other mainstream hip hop artists, and after all that he’s been through, we may be in store for his most emotionally honest work to date.
We’re looking forward to it – but we’re also encouraging Kanye to take his time and put his emotional health first.

Azealia Banks: I Suffered a Miscarriage! LOL!
Azealia Banks is a riot, folks.
Actually, let us amend that statement:
Azealia Banks may cause an Internet riot as a result of what appears to be a joke she just made online about having a miscarriage.
Confused? Intrigued? Confused AND intrigued… and already annoyed? Scroll down and we’ll explain.
On Tuesday morning, Banks took Facebook followers by surprise when she said very plainly that she just suffered a miscarriage.
The singer had made no previous mention of even being pregnant, but she wrote the following on her official page a few hours ago:
“So I’ve just had a really major life event happen and I want to talk about it because this wouldn’t be an Azealia Banks page without loads of oversharing right?
“Anywho, I’ve just had a miscarriage and am pretty taken aback by it all and really confused and in shock and guilty and a bit depressed and like a failure and and [sic] very ashamed.”
This would typically be the point in a story such as this where we express sympathy for the subject.
Especially after Banks seemed to be genuinely shaken up by the experience, asking for advice from women who could relate.
“Has anyone else had this same experience who cares to share some words of wisdom or words of anything regarding this topic,” she asked, adding:
“The self-loathing bit is a real struggle for me at the moment so share any words here. They will be greatly appreciated.”
Continued the controversial artist:
I feel really stupid because I think I’m so big and bad an in control and In this situation I’m so powerless and when I first saw the embryo I felt this full spirit around me and was looking down at this little bean in horror/amazement and now I just can’t NOT have an awareness of this person and wont stop feeling like any and everything I’ve ever done in my life or want to do is pointless.
However, Banks – who is no stranger to saying some truly outlandish things – made this confession not long after slamming frequent rival Nicki Minaj.
When one follower questioned the timing of the miscarriage admission, Banks replied:
“Do you want to see a picture of the mess?”
She provided no such picture, but she does appear to have deleted the entire miscarriage thread, virtually laughing over how she’s “not the same person” anymore.
Banks then made it pretty clear that she made up the entire miscarriage thing because… umm… she has some very serious mental issues?
Is there any other reason why anyone would ever joke about such a sensitive topic?
“Hope you Lot got your screenshots. It’s all jokes guys. Calm down and enjoy the holiday,” Banks wrote as a follow-up on Facebook.
Hilarious, right?
(No… wait: wrong. So very, very messed up and wrong.)
“HOPEFULLY the tabloids don’t get tacky about this Azealia Banks headline. I’ve had a real rough 2016. I honestly need a break from the public crucifixion,” Banks later added on Facebook for some reason.
We have no idea what it manes to “get tacky” about a headline.
But any time a celebrity jokes about having a miscarriage, you better believe we’re going to call her out over it.
“This is a women’s health issue that many others may or may not be able to relate to. Please don’t fuck UP an opportunity for clear, open and beneficial discourse between WOMEN,” Banks also wrote, making even less sense.
We guess we shouldn’t expect much from someone who once told Iggy Azalea to kill herself.
But we somehow didn’t think that even Azealia Banks was capable of lying about a miscarriage.
We’d love to see her make this same so-called joke to any one of the following celebrities.
