Rick Genest Commits Suicide; Lady Gaga Mourns Death of Music Video Co-Star
Rick Genest, a model best known to music fans for his appearance in Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” video, was found dead in his Montreal home on Wednesday.
He was 32 years old.
According to local reports, the Canadian model took his own life, although no further details are available at this time.
In a message on Facebook, Genest’s management company said he “was loved by all those who had the chance to meet him and know him.”
Translated from French, this is what the message reads:
The whole dulcedo family is shocked and pained by this tragedy. Zombie boy, Rico, was loved by all those who had the chance to meet him and know him. Icon of the artistic scene and the fashion world, this innovator, against popular culture, has been able to charm all hearts.
We received the unfortunate news at the beginning of the afternoon and members of the team have come to support his family and relatives in this dark and difficult moment.
We want to present our deepest condolences and the legend will survive human.
Thank you zb for these beautiful moments in your company and for your radiant smile.
Lady Gaga, meanwhile, who has spoken out often about her own struggles with mental health and about the challenges others face in this area, also paid tribute to Genest on Instagram.
T”he suicide of friend Rick Genest, Zombie Boy is beyond devastating,” the artist wrote, adding:
“We have to work harder to change the culture, bring Mental Health to the forefront and erase the stigma that we can’t talk about it. If you are suffering, call a friend or family today.
“We must save each other.”
The singer subsequently added two other messages along these same sad lines:

Kindness and mental health aren’t one time practices. They aren’t just to do list items.
This fall, in partnership with @btwfoundation, I’ll explore the power of habits to build cultures of kindness and wellness.
SECOND:
Science tells us that it takes 21 days to form a habit, if you are suffering from Mental Health issue I beckon for today to be your first day or a continuation of the work you’ve been doing.

Genest holds a Guinness World Record for the most insect tattoos on his body (a total of 176), as well as another record for the most human bone tattoos at 139.
Prior to his passing, Genest was involved with the Home Depot Canada Foundation, an organization that aims to bring awareness to youth homelessness.
Per iHeartRadio, Genest found work as a model after being featured in the Gaga’s aforementioned music video, modeling for magazines such as GQ, Vanity Fair, and Vogue Hommes.

Edgar Hansen, Deadliest Catch Co-Star, Confesses to Sexual Abuse
Edgar Hansen, one of the stars on the Discovery Channel’s Deadliest Catch, pleaded guilty in court late last week to the sexual abuse of a 16-year old.
According to The Seattle Times, Hansen confessed to a charge of fourth-degree assault with sexual motivation on Friday.
In exchange for his plea, he received a 364-day suspended prison sentence and was ordered to undergo a sexual deviance evaluation.
He also received two years’ probation and various fees and fines totaling $ 1,653, with an additional $ 4,800 fine suspended, court records show.
Hansen will not serve any time behind bars.
The 47-year old fisherman is the deck boss and key crew member of a Seattle-based crabbing boat helmed by his older brother, Sig Hansen.
The siblings have risen to fame and fortune due to their popular Discovery Channel reality series.
As for the details of this ugly case?
A 16-year-old girl told her therapist in October of last year that Hansen sexually assaulted her at a suburban Seattle home on September 30, 2017.
The aforementioned newspaper cited a probable-cause affidavit filed in Snohomish County District Court to back up this allegation.
This teenager also relayed to the police these same allegations.
In a brief handwritten statement accompanying his guilty plea, Hansen acknowledged “touching [the victim’s] private areas … for the purpose of my own sexual gratification.”
He added:
“I committed this assault… I am very sorry for that conduct and I have commenced treatment to ensure that nothing like this assault ever happens again.”
The victim (unnamed because she is a minor) said Hansen “kissed her on the lips, touched her vagina and had her touch his penis,” prosecutors said in their probable cause affidavit.
Investigators also spoke with Hansen’s wife, who said she “confronted him” after learning of the abuse.
He “initially denied” it, but “eventually admitted that he kissed [the victim] and touched her inappropriately.”
Edgar Hansen’s guilty plea comes just weeks after his famous brother, Sig, was sentenced to probation for spitting on an Uber driver last year.
This Deadliest Catch caption was given a deferred sentence, ordered to undergo alcohol treatment and placed on a year of probation.
Sig told People Magazine at the time that he was “terribly sorry” and “very embarrassed” for his role in this incident.
Sig Hansen is also currently awaiting a decision from the state Court of Appeals over a King County judge’s ruling that would allow a sexual-abuse lawsuit brought by his estranged daughter, Melissa Eckstrom, to proceed to trial.
He has denied her claims referring to Eckstrom’s law suit “an old-fashioned shakedown.”
Also of note, in regard to Deadliest Catch, Blake Painter, a former captain on the show, died in May of a suspected drug overdose.
Neither Hansen sibling nor any Discovery Channel representative has spoken yet on Edgar Hansen’s crime.

James Kennedy: Gay Affair Confirmed By Vanderpump Co-Star?
Earlier this week, we reported on rumors that James Kennedy is being urged to come out of the closet by co-stars who are suddenly deeply concerned with his ability to live his best life.
Kennedy’s Vanderpump castmates seem to believe that he’s engaging in an affair with his roommate, Logan Noh.
James has been dating Raquel Leviss for over a year, and thus has been quite keen to deny reports that he’s sleeping with anyone on the down-low.
Unfortunately for him, Kristen Doute and company fancy themselves the WeHo equivalent of th Scooby Gang, except instead of haunted amuesment parks, they investigate other people’s sex lives.
For reasons that remain unclear, Kristen has been as dogged as Robert Mueller in her pursuit of the truth about James’ wang.
And she may have just gotten the break in her case that she’s been waiting for.
You may remember Faith Stowers for sleeping with Jax Taylor and then lying and claiming that she was pregnant with his baby at the beginning of this season.
Vanderpump thrives on drama, but Faith went a little too hard for an ancillary character, and now it appears she won’t be returning to the show.
But that doesn’t mean she’s done stirring up sh-t:
“I’m not going to not say he’s gay,” Stowers said of James in a recent interview with Radar Online.
“I think he has one foot in the closet, and one foot out.”
Faith says that as James’ former bestie, she had a front-row seat to the clandestine affair between the two roommates:
“I hung out with him every day. We were always together. We would go out and get wild,” Stowers says.
“Raquel would come with James, and Logan would be there. Logan is a very likable, lovable guy. But when it comes to James, he is very territorial. Logan is in love with James.”
Faith claims there’s no doubt that James and Logan are more than just friends, and she insiste Kennedy is keeping up appearances for the sake of his girlfriend:
“James wants to make Raquel feel comfortable, but he loves Logan,” she claims.
“They’re so weird, fighting, cussing each other out, and then I might look over and see Logan kissing James,” she claimed. “It is so intense!”
Just in case there was any lingering doubt, Faith adds that she once dropped by James’ and Logan’s place and made note of an unmistakable post-coital vibe:
“The place was super sweaty and had a post-sex smell,” she said.
“Logan’s hair was damp, he was sweaty. And James was in bed.”
We’re torn on this one.
On the one hand, James Kennedy is a terrible human being.
But on the other hand, we hate to see his private affairs made public like this, particularly when he’s being called out by a woman who’s already established herself as a liar.
It’s times like this we’re forced to remind ourselves that everyone on this show is an unrepentant sociopath and this group of “friends” fully deserve one another.

Allison Mack Was Recruited into Sex Cult by Smallville Costar Kristin Kreuk!
Has anybody else been having weird cult nightmares since hearing that Allison Mack is a “master” in a self-help sex cult? It’s only been a week and I’ve had two such dreams. Two.
The thing is that while we sort of understand how Allison Mack slid up the ranks to allegedly become the second- or third-in-command of DOS, we’ve never really had a clear picture of how she got started in it.
As it turns out, she was recruited … by Smallville costar Kristin Kreuk.
Allison Mack is reportedly either the second or third in command of a master-slave sex cult called DOS.
According to an alarming expose by The New York Times, DOS is a cult that operates within NXIVM
NXIVM is a “self-help” organization that features programs that allegedly promote female empowerment … in exchange for a large chunk of money. Oh, and recruiting new members.
Based upon descriptions and reports, one might think of NXIVM like what would happen if the Church of Scientology had a baby with a more run-of-the-mill pyramid scheme.
At some point, certain women start going on starvation diets (seriously — no reputable doctor would recommend this) and taking only cold showers … and submitting incriminating photos that could later be used against them as blackmail.
And then these women are required to submit to branding, having Keith Raniere’s initials branded into their pubic region. They are “slaves,” each serving a “master,’ all the way to the top.
Brainwashing and corporal punishment are reportedly standard fare for these members of DOS.
And while Raniere is at the head of this alleged cult, Allison Mack is said to be right below him. Having undergone brainwashing herself, Mack is described as “both a perpetrator and a victim” of the cult’s abuse.
But how did she get started with all of this?
That’s where Kristin Kreuk comes in.
Kreuk is best known for her work on Smallville, playing Clark Kent’s adolescent romantic interest, Lana Lang. She was eventually written out of the series in a particularly goofy way.
Kristin Kreuk also starred on Beauty and the Beast, the 2012 series, which … was not a great show and finally came to an end in 2016.
And it’s now reported that she was the one who first recruited Allison Mack to NXIVM.
A woman named Susan Dones told HollywoodLife about Kristin Kreuk’s involvement with the cult.
“Yes Kristin Kreuk and Allison Mack were members of Nxivm. Kristin recruited Allison.”
Dones herself was a member.
Before you worry, it doesn’t sound like Kristin Kreuk has anybody’s initials branded near her genitals.
“But Kristin left shortly after I left in 2009. She got out before it became really bizarre and wasn’t involved with anything sexual.”
Dones speaks about when and why she left:
“I joined in 2000 and left in 2009 when I found out that Keith Raniere was manipulating women into having sex with him. He wouldn’t approach the women for sex directly. He would send one of the women working for him, a woman named Pat, on his behalf.”
It sounds like a precursor to Allison Mack’s current job.
“Pat would say to the chosen woman, ‘Keith wants to spend some one on one time with you.’”
And when you’re in a cult, you want to spend time with the leader.
“Whatever they were doing with their lives, whether it was acting or business or a sport they were good at, they would be told Keith can help you if you spend some one on one time and she could set that up. He would meet them and do his seduction thing.”
We don’t care to imagine what Keith Raniere’s alleged “seduction thing” looks like.
These days, Allison Mack is still submitting to Keith Raniere’s will.
She reportedly eats only 500 to 800 calories per day, which is absolutely not enough food.
She is also said to run 40 miles a week.
All of this is to keep herself incredibly thin, per DOS’ requirements. With authority comes very high standards.
Women within DOS who fail to obey Allison Mack’s orders are reportedly paddled as punishment, reinforcing Keith Raniere’s will.
As for Allison’s particular responsibilities?
Why, she’s allegedly in charge of selecting women to be Keith’s sex partners.
All the while, Allison Mack continues to praise NXIVM and recruit more “slaves” to the cause.
There is, unfortunately, no part of this story that isn’t gross an alarming.
So both women were recruited while filming Smallville in Vancouver.
Kristin apparently got into it because her boyfriend was part of NXIVM. There are a few men involved in the organization, but it sounds like DOS is made up entirely of women.
And Keith Raniere.
We’re glad that Kristin got out as early as she did, but so saddened that Allison Mack did not.
We can’t imagine how Kristin or any other former recruiter must feel, knowing what they got other women into. Even if they had no idea, it’s a lot to live with.
And we can’t help but wonder how many other familiar faces might be part of the organization.

Meghan Markle, Suits Co-Star Caught Up In Social Media Controversy
For weeks now, we’ve been hearing rumors that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are secretly engaged.
According to those who believe the reports, there’s good reason for the couple’s secrecy.
Royal engagements can be messy affairs that require the approval of numerous parties.
Sources say Meghan met the Queen last week, and many believe Harry asked for his grandmother’s blessing to marry Markle.
It was initially reported that several Royals weren’t crazy about the idea of a Harry-Meghan marriage.
They had nothing against Meghan personally, the insiders claimed, they were just a bit put off by the PR nightmares that might stem from Harry marrying an American actress.
And now, it looks as though the concerned parties might be seeing their worst-case scenario come true.
For obvious reason, there’s intense interest in Meghan’s personal life on both sides of the pond.
This has resulted in numerous ridiculous tabloid rumors, such as the one that had Meghan cheating on Harry.
Americans who weren’t previously Royal watchers have taken a greater interest in Meghan than in Harry’s previous girlfriends, not only because it really looks as though the couple is actually headed for the altar, but also because she’s the star of a long-running American television series.
(That airs on the USA network, no less!)
Now, Meghan’s the other stars of Suits are beginning to experience the complications that can arise from having a future Royal as a co-worker.
Life & Style is reporting today that actor Patrick J. Adams was forced to delete his entire Instagram account after posting a photo of Meghan.
Sources say Adams posted a photo of himself and Markle on set, with a caption reading:
“Ross and Rachel — the next generation.”
Yes, that was all it took for fans to start commenting about the possibility of Meghan cheating on Harry with Adams, or of Adams and Markle hooking up in the past.
Marrying a prince might be a pretty common fantasy, but it looks like Meghan is already experiencing the downside, and she and Harry aren’t even officially engaged yet.
Perhaps that’s why she’s avoiding the press at all cost these days.
“I don’t read any press,” Meghan said in a recent interview.
“I haven’t even read press for Suits. The people who are close to me anchor me in knowing who I am. The rest is noise.”
That’s probably a wise move.

Nelsan Ellis: Read This Heartfelt Tribute from Ex-True Blood Co-Star
As previously and tragically reported, Nelsan Ellis is dead at the age of 39.
The actor, best known for having played Lafayette Reynolds throughout the run of True Blood on HBO, died on Saturday due to complications from heart failure.
In response to this awful news, countless actors and actresses who worked with Ellis took to social media over the weekend to express their shock and condolences.
We’ve included many of their reactions in the slideshow below.
But Stephen Moyer has stood out for the extra considerate tribute he posted to Facebook on Sunday.
Moyer played lead vampire Bill Compton on the former HBO drama, starring opposite Ellis from the very first day of filming.
He shared a photo of the late star behind the scenes on his Facebook page yesterday, writing a lengthy caption along with the image.
“One of the first places we shot on the pilot of True Blood was Sam Merlotte’s Bar,” wrote Moyer, adding:
“The kitchen Suzuki Ingerslev built in Merlotte’s had a walk in freezer & working gas burners.
“It remained my favourite set throughout all 7 seasons – when shooting in Louisiana many months later she took us to the actual bar she had used as inspiration.
“It was almost as amazing as our Merlotte’s, but not quite – They didn’t have a Lafayette.”
Moyer then expounded in emotional fashion.
We can’t do his words justice and we want the actor to speak for himself… so we’ll just post Moyer’s Facebook tribute in full below and we’ll continue to hope that Ellis is resting in peace:
In the scene that was being shot that day, Lafayette, a male cross-dressing short order cook in the show, was expounding on his theory of men’s fear of the female anatomy.. specifically, the vagina.

I’m not sure I have ever seen, before or since, people crowd around a monitor at video village with their hands clapped to their mouths from shock, sheer laughter and wonder as the actor playing Lafayette jiggled and shook and humped the butchers block to get his point across.
it was completely original, funny, sardonic, risqué and brilliant.
That was Nelsan Ellis. All of the above.
I turned to Alan Ball when the scene was finished and whispered… ‘you can’t kill him!’ (Lafayette’s death at the of the first book is the cliffhanger that leads to Book 2… )
Nelsan Ellis was the only actor in the 7 years of True Blood whom Alan allowed to improvise. Actually, I’m going to take that back.
It wasn’t that Alan allowed him to do it, it was more that when Nelsan inhabited the world of Lafayette, he quite literally COULDN’T STOP himself. It was like he was possessed.
In actuality Nelsan was quiet, smart, thoughtful, warm and kind. A published playwright himself.
I think it would be fair to say that he taught all of us that intent and courage and fearlessness and freedom are the aspects of playing make-believe that spark the corners of the room where the dark is most impenetrable…
To shine a light on those corners within ourselves is the very reason we go back time and again to Movies, TV shows and Theatre. To see that spark ignited.
Nelsan had that electricity in an abundance I have rarely seen. I can’t believe he’s gone.
Ellis leaves behind a son, along with an array of awe-inspired former co-stars and friends.
