The Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 2 Recap: Big Bad Wolves

We learned early on during The Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 2 just for whom the horn tolled at the end of last week’s premiere:

Wolves.

Rick’s plans to clear Alexandria of endless walkers last Sunday was interrupted by the arrival of a herd of terrifying maniacs, all of whom had the letter W carved into their foreheads.

The hour actually opened with a flashback to the day a car breakdown led to Enid’s parents being killed by zombies.

Following this incident, a teenage Enid wandered through the woods, eating anything she could find and writing “JSS” everywhere possible. For what reason? Keep reading…

From here, we returned to present day, with Alexandria residents going about their regular routines.

But this idyllic afternoon was ruined by the wolves, who were both inside the gates and outside the gates, prompting Carol to go into full Badass Mode.

While Carol was making sure the newly dead did not turn, Jessie jumped out to protect her family, using her haircutting scissors to stab a wolf very much dead.

Spencer, meanwhile, took out a wolf with his rifle. The villain proceeded to fall on the horn, which is what we heard to wrap up The Walking Dead Season 6 premiere.

With Alexandria turning into a war zone, Denise needed a pep talk from Tara and Eugene to snap into medical action, although she failed to save her first patient.

Amidst all this chaos, Enid stopped by to say goodbye to Carl. Before slipping away, she left him a note that read Just Survive Somehow. And there it is: JSS!

Elsewhere: Morgan tried to reason and plead with a wolf, asking him nicely to leave. But Carol intervened and shot the guy, disagreeing violently with Morgan’s pacifist philosophy.

Later on, Morgan was surrounded… but he still chose not to kill any wolves.

Instead, he scared them away by claiming they were surrounded by survivors with gun, telling one of his attacks from the episode “Conquer” if “you keep choosing this life, you will die,” to which his old foe replied:

“We didn’t choose.”

At the conclusion of a VERY bloody hour, Carol nearly smoked one of her late neighbor’s cigarettes out of exhaustion and sadness… Aaron found his old backpack (with photos of Alexandria inside) on one of the felled walkers… and Morgan was once again faced with his ex-adversary, this time having no choice but to kill him.

Once Upon a Time Season 5 Episode 4: A Royal Pain

Most of our long-time heroes and heroines took a backseat on Once Upon a Time Season 5 Episode 4, as the characters from Camelot were thrust into the spotlight.

We learned during the hour that King Arthur grew so obsessed in his quest for the Dark One’s dagger (aka Excalibur) that it drove him and Guinevere apart.

The latter even decided to seek out the sword one day with Lancelot by her side.

However, after butting heads with Rumplestiltskin, all these two received for their trouble was a vial of the Sands, something that can supposedly “fix” anything.

Upon returning home, Arthur seized the Sands and used it to cast a spell on Guinevere, turning her into the perfect, robotic wife. He then used the rest of it to make his kingdom “whole.”

In the current Camelot timeline, meanwhile, Regina and the Charmings gathered around Emma during a moment of weakness, with the latter couple debating the merits of Arthur.

Afterward, David told Arthur that they’ve been lying about daughter Emma, and that he’s ready to reunite the dagger with Excalibur… except the box ended up bring empty. How so?

Because Snow grabbed the dagger and, with Lancelot, planned to hide it beyond the door at the bottom of the Dark One’s vault.

Enter Arthur, who showed up to steal the weapon – yet when he used it to to summon Emma, he realized it was a fake.

Turns out, the Charmings pulled a fast one on Arthur, overcoming their differences to keep Emma safe.

However, no sooner had they detained the King inside Granny’s than hypnotized Guinevere appeared to rescue her man, using more of the Sands on the Charmings. (How much of that stuff was there?!?)

The spellbound Charmings proceeded to lie to Regina about Arthur being good and Lancelot being bad and said they needed to marry the dagger with Excalibur.

Meanwhile, imprisoned LanceloIt met his spunky cellmate – Merida! – who was all too excited to take on Arthur.

Over to Emma: she kept seeing visions of Rumple, which prompted Hook to suggest a horseback ride through the country. This led to a passionate kiss between the couple in a meadow overflowing with flowers.

Finally, we returned to present-day Storybrooke, where Dark Emma had Rumple strapped to a gate and broke out her “secret weapon” against the man she deemed to be a “dull knife.”

It was Merida, who had been tied to the Bug’s front fender! Dark Emma gave the sassy Scot her mission: go ahead and make a coward “brave.”

So there you have it. Catch up when you watch Once Upon a Time online and sound off on the latest installment below.

Lamar Odom to Survive Overdose, But Months of Rehab (and Likely Some Permanent Damage) Ahead

It’s looking increasingly likely that Lamar Odom will survive his near death experience from last week, but it will be a long, uphill battle ahead.

Lamar’s friends and family are being told by doctors that the rehabilitation process he faces will take many months, with uncertain success.

Reports that Lamar Odom is awake and talking, when many felt he was a goner just days ago, were a surprising and welcome development.

He is not out of the woods yet, however. Far from it, it turns out.

According to medical insiders, he needs physical, speech, and other therapists working with him around the clock for the foreseeable future.

Odom was obviously not declared brain dead in the sense that he can never recover, but doctors say the extent of the damage is unclear.

Will he ever be back to full strength, physically and mentally?

The term “near death experience” is thrown around casually to the point where we’re numb to it, but here it was quite literally the case.

Lamar’s heart and brain were on the verge of shutting down when the 35-year-old fell unconscious at a Nevada brothel early last week.

A pair of prostitutes found Odom and called for help, and had they not done so right away, he might not even be with us at this juncture.

His estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian, is by his bedside in Vegas and has vowed to stay with him through the entire ordeal, rehab and all.

She has kept a constant vigil by his side since Odom was found, despite the fact that they finalized their divorce documents this summer.

The divorce papers will not be signed by a judge for 2-4 months, however, due to a court backlog, meaning they remain legally married.

Call it semantics or not, Khloe has always said that if it were up to her, they would still be married and happily; Lamar is her true love.

Khloe has said nothing about her intentions with Lamar going forward, or how her this might impact things with boyfriend James Harden.

It’s clear that by sticking by him through this, and by dragging out their divorce for two years prior, what she wants most is to save him.

We wish both of them the best on the road ahead.
