Hulk Hogan Isn"t Racist, Just Stupid

A red-eyed Hulk Hogan (real name: Terry Bollea) donned his finest palm tree knit and a head hanky for a Mach 23rd appearance on The View.

The former pro wrestler won a lawsuit against Gawker Media for the 2012 publication of a sex tape in which he bedded the wife of his former best friend.

The Florida jury awarded Hogan $ 140 million in damages, which Gawker"s lawyers plan to appeal.

Hogan"s lawyer, Reno, NV-based David Houston spent the majority of the interview answering the co-hosts" questions, but Hogan himself spoke when Sunny Hostin brought up his using the racial slur, "n*****."

“It’s probably the stupidest thing I ever said,” Hogan told Hostin. “The people who know me know I’m not a racist.”

Hogan pointed out that his second marriage to Jennifer McDaniel was performed by an "Afro-American" minister, and that he attends an "Afro-American church."

Hogan also defended the WWE"s decision to terminate their professional relationship.

“Even the WWE knows I’m not a racist,” he explained. “They had to do what was best for business, for their company.”

Hogan said the reason he used the term was because he was furious about his daughter, Brooke"s relationship with a "black guy"s son" and the fact that she wasn"t taking his advice.

“I said something horrible and I will live with it forever,” he said, “but that’s not me, that’s not who I am.”

All in all, it was a pretty civilized interview.  No one got fired up, no one cut the other person off.

Well played, Hulk Hogan.
