The Crown Controversy: Wait... Claire Foy Earned HOW MUCH?!?
The Crown may be the most critically-beloved show on all of Netflix.
But the drama is being roasted left and right at the moment for a reason that has nothing to do with what you see on screen…
And everything to do with something that happened off screen.
During a panel discussion about the series at the INTV Conference in Jerusalem on Tuesday, producers acknowledged a discrepancy between the salaries of its two stars, Claire Foy and Matt Smith.
The former portrayed Queen Elizabeth, while the latter takes on the role of her husband, Prince Philip.
Asked directly whether Foy was paid the same as Smith, producer Suzanne Mackie surprised those in attendance by answering in the negative.
No salary figures were discussed, but Mackie admitted Smith earned more for his two seasons of work than Foy.
“Going forward,” she then noted. “No one gets paid more than the Queen.”
This change, however, will not benefit Foy, earned earned an Emmy Award for her work on Season 1.
Due to a time jump for Season 3, Olivia Colman will step in as the Queen.
(Helena Bonham-Carter will play Princess Margaret and Netflix has not yet confirmed which actor will portray Prince Philip.)
In light of the ongoing #MeToo movement and the important conversation surrounding how women are treated in Hollywood, this salary difference has become a source of disgust and debate on social media.
Yes, Smith was a better known star when the series started shooting, having established himself for multiple seasons as the titular character on Dr. Who.
But Foy played THE QUEEN HERSELF on a show about… THE QUEEN.
Moreover, Foy simply appeared on screen a significant amount of time more than Smith over the show’s first two seasons.
Earlier this year, it was disclosed that Michelle Williams was paid a fraction of what her All The Money In The World co-star Mark Wahlberg earned for reshooting sections of the film.
As in: Williams was paid $ 80 per day and Wahlberg was paid $ 1.5 million total.
Once word of this discrepancy leaked out, Wahlberg agreed to donate that entire sum to charity.
The third season of The Crown, which begins filming in July, will move into the Camilla Parker Bowles years; it will also introduce a young Princess Diana.
“Those are going to be extraordinary, those episodes,” said Mackie.
But will fans keep tuning in, now that viewer favorite Foy is no longer a part of the cast?
And will this scandal have any long-term affect on the success of the series?
Mackie didn’t address these concerns or questions, instead joking around a bit when considering where else The Crown may go.
Like into very modern times, perhaps?
“I want to see an episode where [Donald Trump] comes to Buckingham Palace,” the producer said.
As for Meghan Markle?
“She can play herself.”
We’d be down with that. But Markle better get paid more than Trump for her appearance!

The Bachelorette Recap: Who Earned Hometown Dates?!
As The Bachelorette spoilers (or any Bachelor Nation member) could’ve told you, the final episode before hometowns did not lack for drama.
With Rachel Lindsay’s half dozen remaining suitors leaving it all on the table, there were plenty of intense conversations and hard choices.
The million-dollar question heading into Monday:
Would the final four as predicted by Bachelorette spoilers all season long hold true? Or would an unexpected contender pull an upset?
Certainly, three of the six guys left had an edge.
Rachel announced at the onset that there would be three one-on-one dates and one three-on-one, clearly raising the stakes for each.
Obviously, if you’re going on that three-on-one, you’re in the lower tier, which is undesirable. Bryan Abasolo did not end up there, clearly.
He and Rachel enjoyed a luxurious date in Geneva, Switzerland, buying expensive things and making out. Life could be a lot worse.
Later, Bryan said that the last time he brought a girl home, the romance ended soon after, but he promised his family would love Rachel.
“I was on cloud nine after my last date with you, and I’m going higher,” Rachel said, giving him a rose. “I have to come and meet your family.”
Dean Unglert’s date after that was … awkward by comparison, as they went to a Catholic mass conducted in French which they don’t speak.
Moreover, he was just nervous and generally off, unable to open up about feelings or even make small talk for whatever reason.
Perhaps his youth was showing at last.
Dean, 25, later admitted a lot of “internal conflict” about getting a hometown date, as he feels like the “black sheep” of this group.
His family, he said, is less than perfect.
Every family is, but after Rachel called out his weird behavior, he opened up about it finally, saying his mother died a decade ago.
As for his father, “he is not a person that has any bearing on my emotional experience … my concern is that you would judge my family.”
Not judging them on their own merit, he meant, but using that first impression to determine “what our potential family could be.”
Rachel assured him she would not, He got the rose.
Peter Kraus received the final one-on-one date, and rose, soon after that. Unlike Dean, he talks about his feelings quite freely.
One of the early favorites, he told Rachel that the process had been hard for him, knowing she was also dating the other guys.
Kraus admitted he’d never been with a black girl before, but told Rachel that his parents would be supportive of anyone he fell for.
He also said, in a bit of a jarring admission, that if he got to the end and proposing didn’t feel like the right thing, he wouldn’t do it.
Of course this gave her pause, how can it not, but at the end of the day, it’s honest and refreshing that he would be so true to himself.
On to hometowns for Peter!
Finally, it was the dreaded three-on-one between Adam, Eric and Matt, all of whom knew the odds weren’t good and they had to go all in.
Matt was the first to go, though not for lack of trying. Rachel said through tears that other relationships had progressed faster than theirs.
Adam felt he was a lock to win this three-on-one, and Rachel conceded that he was a guy who cherished every “single second” together.
That wasn’t enough.
She sent him packing too, ultimately choosing Eric, which Adam felt was a huge mistake on her part. Clearly she doesn’t agree.
Eric Bigger spoke about his tough upbringing and how he is motivated to help others because no one ever helped him in life.
He has also never brought a girl home, because he was never shown love and it’s all new to him to feel what he’s feeling now.

Jennifer Lopez Slams Haters: I Earned My Abs!
Jennifer Lopez is one of the most famous celebrities on the planet and for very good reasons. She’s talented and very hot.
The 47-year-old took to Instagram yesterday with a picture of her toned abs, and as you can probably expect, the trolls appeared relatively quickly to complain that the celebrity was using photoshop to alter the appearance of her body.
Jennifer is not one to bite her tongue, so she swiftly responded to the haters with plausible excuse for the whole mishap.
“Omg…Just a smudge on the mirror…lol…not photoshop. #lordblessthehaters #gymrat #youshouldtryit #wishtherewasphotoshopforhaters,” she wrote, referencing the small smudge placed next to her side in the photo.
For what it’s worth, there was a visible smudge on the mirror, and the haters are likely grasping at straws because they are jealous of the superstar’s physique.
It’s not uncommon for people to be so jealous of someone that they will pick out their flaws at every point to know their self-confidence.
Thankfully, Jennifer has thick skin and is not about to let a group of keyboard warriors get her down. Jennifer has been in the spotlight for many years, so we think it’s fair to say she knows first hand what the trolls are like.
One thing they won’t be jealous of is Jennifer’s romance with Alex Rodriguez. You will probably already know they have been all over each other since they got together earlier this year.
Unfortunately for Jennifer, there have been a string of cheating rumors because, well, A-Rod does not have the best track record for staying faithful to his lady friends.
There’s word that A-Rod has been indulging in some wild sexting sessions with his ex-girlfriend Lauren Hunter. Would he really cheat on Jenny from the Block?
We have no idea, but Jenny seems to think things are going alright.
Did you see those baecation pictures? They sure looked like they were having fun. Like we said earlier, Jennifer has been in the industry a long ass time, so she probably knows how crazy some of the rumors can be.
Time will tell if the couple manages to stay together, but they sure look like they’re having a lot of fun with one another.

Kylie Jenner Earned HOW MUCH in 2016?!?
Kylie Jenner closed out 2016 with a revealing bathroom selfie.
It was nothing fans of the reality star haven’t seen before, really.
But Forbes has now released a revealing list that ought to make jaws drop to the floor faster and harder than any close-up of Kylie’s cleavage ever could.
According to that publication’s annual 30 Under 30 list, Kylie is the second-richest member of her family, behind only half-sister Kim Kardashian.
The youngest person on this list, Jenner reportedly earned about $ 18 million last year.
She’s only 19 years old. That’s approximately $ 1 million for every year she’s been alive!
“The reality TV star’s Kylie Cosmetics line has gone from strength to strength, with each incarnation of her $ 29 lip kits selling out upon release,” Forbes writes of Jenner, adding:
“Sources close to the teenager suggest the glosses did seven figures in revenues in 2016 alone. Jenner also puts her name to an apparel line, alongside model sister Kendall.”
She has her foot in multiple industries, that’s for sure.
And it apparently makes no difference to Kylie’s bottom line if the Better Business Bureau gives her company an atrocious rating.
Back in July, we learned that the company had racked up nearly 140 customer complaints on that website in the nine months since it opened for business.
Then, just this week, we learned that Kylie’s official 2017 calendar got her own birthday wrong.
For real.
It lists Jenner’s birthday as August 10, when it is actually on August 20.
But whatever, apparently.
Jenner has over 82.6 million Instagram followers and they are clearly loyal to the teenager, even if she does promote subpar products.
“Forbes 30 under 30 .. Thank you,” Kylie wrote on that social media platform in response to her inclusion on this magazine’s rundown.
The mysteriously popular teen is featured in the latest issue of Forbes along with other young entrepreneurs such as Alli Webb, the founder of blowout chain Drybar.
She’s also alongside Toni Ko, the founder of NYX Cosmetics; and Jennifer Hyman, the cofounder of fashion tech giant Rent the Runway.
Combined, those individuals can’t come close to matching Jenner’s social media power… although Jenner herself can’t come close to matching her sibling’s earning potential.
Forbes states that Kardashian brought in $ 51 million last year – and that’s with Kim basically taking the final three months of the year “off” after being robbed at gunpoint in Paris.
Might this explain why Kim has returned to social media, however?
Might she want to ensure that she remains on top for 2017 and beyond?
You never know with this family.
Yes, they love each other.
But they also love to compete with each other.
Soon enough, though, as evidenced by the collection of Kylie Jenner photos above, we may not even be able to tell the difference between Kim and Kylie.

Katy Perry vs. Taylor Swift: Who Earned More in 2015?
When it comes to the music business in 2015, the big bucks are in touring, not album sales.
At least that seems to be the number one lesson that we can take away from this year’s annual Forbes list of the highest earning musicians.
We already knew Katy Perry was the highest-earning female musician of the year, but now we know that she also beat out the boys to take the year’s top spot overall.
As impressive as that accomplishment is, we’re guessing Katy is happier about besting her rival Taylor Swift by a wide margin.
Ms. Perry pulled in an astonishing $ 135 million in the past 12 months. She’s followed on the list by One Direction ($ 130 million) and Garth Brooks ($ 90 million).
Taylor pulled in at number four with a paltry $ 80 million How does she even live on that?!
We kid, of course, but it’s pretty surprising that she’s so far down the list, considering 2015 will forever be remembered as “the year of Taylor Swift.”
Obviously, both ladies did incredibly well, but the Forbes list serves as further evidence that Katy is quietly winning the war against Taylor Swift.
Of course, industry analysts note that with an average of $ 4 million per show, Taylor is a contender to top the list in 2016.
However, she may have some competition from that other queen of the breakup ballad, as Adele is currently gearing up for a 40-city world tour.
Sheesh, that Taylor Swift just can’t catch a break!
