Demi Lovato to Leave Hospital Today: Will She Head to Rehab?

It’s only been three days since Demi Lovato suffered an overdose that left her hospitalized.

Lovato has remained under doctor’s care ever since, but according to Radar Online, she’s scheduled to leave the hospital later today.

But if her family and friends have their way, Demi will head straight from one treatment facility to another.

Sources tell Radar that Demi’s loved ones are imploring her to check into rehab immediately.

Lovato reportedly concedes that she needs treatment, but is hoping to rest at home for a few days after leaving the hospital.

“She completed a detox, and will soon be out,” a hospital source tells the site.

While we know that Demi will seek treatment outside of the Los Angeles area in hopes of avoiding potential triggers, there’s no word yet on when she’ll begin the process of getting clean.

The good news is, she’s said to be fully aware that she’s back to square one in terms of her battle with addiction.

The bad news is, insiders believe that she’s not fully aware of the gravity of the situation.

In fact, they say Lovato feels the road to sobriety will be easier this time, as she’s been down this path before.

Demi reportedly began drinking and using several weeks before her overdose.

But it was one lengthy bender that constituted Lovato’s rock bottom and landed her in the emergency room.

“She had been partying for 12 straight hours and it caught up with her,” one source tells E! News.

“This was going on for a few weeks and the warning signs were there. She slipped up and thought she could handle it.”

The insider adds:

“This is obviously a huge wake-up call. Demi doesn’t want to die and she’s very grateful to be alive. She will be leaving the hospital and heading straight to rehab.

“Her family has been by her side supporting her and is getting her the help she needs.”

Just hours before she overdosed at home, Demi was spotted at the Saddle Ranch Bar in LA “taking shots with her friends,” per one source.

Questions remain about what sort of drugs Demi was using and how she was revived after the OD’ed.

For right now, however, the biggest concern among fans is that Lovato receives the care and treatment she seems to so desperately need.

Our thoughts go out to Demi and her family during this difficult time.

Heather Locklear Rushed to Hospital After Apparent Overdose

Heather Locklear was taken to the hospital for the second time in just over two weeks on Monday afternoon.

As previously detailed, the veteran actress was placed under doctor’s supervision earlier this month after she allegedly assaulted her parents and threatened to shoot herself.

She was then released after receiving a psychiatric evalution.

Yesterday, however, the extremely troubled ex-Melrose Place and Spin City star was hospitalized for a different reason.

And a scarier one, really, too.

TMZ confirms that a 911 call was made from Locklear’s home around 3 p.m. after the actress overdoses on prescription medication.

Paramedics quickly arrived on the scene in Thousand Oaks, California and transported the star to Las Robles Hospital & Medical Center.

She is now in stable condition, with an insider telling Us Weekly:

“She didn’t want to leave her home [Monday] afternoon to get further treatment that she had agreed to get earlier in the day.

“Authorities were called when Heather said she had taken prescription medication and there [were] concerns she had taken more than she had been prescribed.

“The family is asking for privacy at this time.”

There’s no way to know right now whether Locklear accidentally took more than she had been prescribed; or if she did so on purpose.

Just 24 hours prior to this frightening incident, Locklear was released from jail after she allegedly attacked both a police officer and an EMT.

They had been called to the 56-year old’s home because the actress was acting drunk and beligerent.

“This is a very serious situation,” a second source told the aforementioned tabloid, adding of the star:

“Heather refuses to get treatment. … Heather’s parents are asking [her boyfriend] Chris [Heisser] to stay away from Heather for a bit to give her some space to get the help she needs.”

This really is a very scary time for the former soap opera and primetime television mainstay.

Locklear has had numerous run-ins with the law over recent years and checked into rehab on at least one occasion.

We had previously heard that Locklear planned to voluntarily check herself in for another round of treatment following last week’s uproar at her home, but it now appears as if that was never on the docket… or Heather changed her mind.

All that’s really certain at the moment is that those close to the actress and/or those who were close to her in the past are very afraid of what may happen next.

“I love Heather… [and  have] loving thoughts and prayers for her and her family and her daughter, Ava,” ex-boyfriend Jack Wagner recently told Entertainment Tonight.

Ava is Locklear’s 20-year old daughter with Bon Jovi drummer Richie Sambora.

She “has had to watch her mother’s ups and downs and this is far worse than it has ever been,” another source tells ET, concluding:

“No one should have to deal with their mother behaving the way Heather does. Especially the way Heather has treated the police.

“Something has to change, there has to be some sort of reality check here.”

We’ll be keeping both Heather and Ava in our thoughts for awhile.

Heather Locklear Threatens to Kill Herself, Gets Sent to Hospital

Heather Locklear, the veteran actress best known for roles on Dynasty, Spin City and Melrose Place, was hospitalized over the weekend after reportedly threatening to shoot herself.

According to TMZ, the Ventura County Fire and Sheriff’s Departments responded to the veteran star’s home on Sunday after a relative called 911.

Audio of the dispatch obtained by the aforementioned website says that Locklear was “agitated and violent,” threatening to hurt herself and those around her.

Although she did not have access to weapons, based on this 911 call, the operator said she was looking for a gun to shoot herself.

In a follow-up to its original post, TMZ quotes an insider who says Locklear’s parents were at her house when the actress grew so violent that she actually choked her mother and struck her father.

It was the former who called the police.

No criminal chargers were filed against Locklear.

Instead of being transported to prison, she was transported to a local hospital and placed under psychiatric supervision.

Public records do confirm that Locker resides on the street from where this 911 call was placed.

“At that location we contacted a person who had medical needs, and they were treated by the Ventura County Fire Department, and they were later transported to a local hospital,” Capt. Kuredjian tells People Magazine, adding:

“There was no criminal activity. The person was not arrested.”

Locklear, for those who have followed her career closely or who are up to date on the celebrity gossip world, has had her fair of legal and personal trouble over the years.

In February, for example, Locklear was arrested on suspicion of felony domestic battery, along with three counts of battery on a police officer.

Police later searched her home for a firearm that was allegedly registered in her name.

Two weeks later, the actress entered a rehab program.

“She didn’t go because she was forced,” a longtime associate told People at the time, explaining;

“There was no intervention. She went in on her own. She wanted to feel better and get to the bottom of what was troubling her.”

In March of 2008, meanwhile, Locklear’s doctor dialed 911 and reported that the celebrity was suicidal; that June, Heather sought help for psychological issues.

Back during her recent February incident, Locklear threatened to shoot police officers on the spot and also if they ever returned to her house.

Given this history, the Sheriff’s Department confirms that multiple units were sent to Locklear’s residence in response to Sunday’s situation.

Let’s all hope and pray that Heather Locklear finds the assistance she so desperately needs.

Ami Brown: Returning to Hospital Amid New Cancer Battle

Last year, Alaskan Bush People family matriarch Ami Brown beat the odds — and her lung cancer. But, as we grimly noted at the time, she would need to remain vigilant.

Then, in March, fans feared that Ami’s cancer had returned. In April, Ami’s emergency hospitalization was confirmed.

Now, new details have emerged and fans are fearing the worst. But there’s hope.

RadarOnline reports that Discovery Executive Vice President Laurie Goldberg has confirmed Ami’s new cancer battle to them.

“Ami’s battle with cancer is very real.”

Ami has already undergone new treatments.

“Her chemo and radiation was tough, but she got through it and is recovering well.”

Just as she had to in the past, Ami has had to return to more comfortable and convenient surroundings so that she can live near a first-rate hospital and receive the care that she needs.

“She is going to L.A. for a routine three month check-up but is optimistic and surrounded by nothing but love.”

That is good to hear, all things considered.

Back in January, we mentioned that some fans who were amazed at Ami’s recovery started to doubt if Ami had ever really had cancer to begin with.

Goldberg does not mince words about that kind of hateful speculation.

“It is just disgusting that anyone would say her cancer is not real or that it was created for the show.”

We absolutely agree.

Asking questions is one thing. And it’s nothing short of amazing that she was able to fight back a cancer whose prognosis gave her an estimated 3% chance of survival.

But no, Ami did not stage having lung cancer and the agony of chemo and radiation therapies for a ratings bump.

We only wish that it were some fabrication. Cancer is very real.

Golberg reveals that, despite her health battle, Ami will be featured on Alaskan Bush People.

“The fans will get to see her journey alongside the rest of the family on the upcoming season.”

That will be great to see!

And something that fans won’t have to worry about is a season filled with interpersonal conflict.

“There is definitely no drama between her and anyone in the family.”

Thta makes sense.

“They love her very much and would do anything for her.”

The Brown family of course is rallying around Ami to support her during this difficult time.

Ami, in the mean time, is liking the family’s new situation.

Goldberg says:

“Right now Ami is so happy with the family’s move to Washington.”

We told you that Billy Brown made a large land purchase and has reportedly gotten on the bad side of a number of locals in the rural community in Washington State.

Ami herself apparently already knows how she wants to help them settle in to their spacious new home.

“She has so many big plans for their new home.”

It’s great that Ami is receiving proper medical care, is continuously surrounded by those whom she loves, and is making plans for the future.

These are all great things that can contribute to her once again kicking cancer to the curb.

We wish Ami the best in her latest health battle.

As we cautioned when the news that Ami was cancer free first broke, the odds of getting cancer (again) are higher for someone who has had and beaten cancer than they are for someone who has never had cancer.

It is our sincerest wish that Ami make a full recovery. For her sake and for her family’s.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Rushed to Hospital For Emergency Heart Surgery

Frightening news out of Hollywood today, as multiple sources have confirmed that Arnold Schwarzenegger is currently hospitalized following an emergency open heart surgery.

According to TMZ, the 70-year-old screen icon and former governor of California is currently recovering at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles following a catheter valve replacement that went awry.

Sources say doctors were prepared for the possibility that the valve replacement might fail, and they quickly made the decision to perform emergency open heart surgery.

While the second procedure reportedly went as planned, family, friends, and fans are said to be deeply concerned, and understandably so.

Adding to their fear is the fact that this is not the first time Schwarzenegger has undergone heart surgery.

The actor had an aortic valve replaced in 1997.

Doctors reportedly informed Schwarzenegger that the procedure wasn’t urgently needed at the time, but he decided to get it out of the way while he was still young.

It’s not currently clear if Schwarzenegger’s recent problems are related to the condition he was treated for back then.

At the time of his first procedure, Schwarzenegger stated that the condition was congenital and not the result of past steroid use.

While this week’s open heart surgery was an emergency procedure, sources say it went as well as could be expected, given the circumstances.

There’s no word yet on when Schwarzenegger will be fully recovered, but those who know him best expect the famously ambitious fitness fanatic to be back on his feet in no time.

Arnold, of course, has been a mainstay in American pop culture and politics for the past four decades.

The Austrian-born former bodybuilder is on the short list of celebrities who are so iconic they can be referred to by a single name.

At 70, he remains as relevant as ever, and Schwarzenegger’s feud with Donald Trump recently made headlines and reminded the world of just what a sharp wit Arnold truly is.

Schwarzenegger has yet to issue a statement regarding his latest health scare, but you can bet that one is coming soon.

Arnold famously loves his public as much as the public loves him.

We’ll have further updates on this developing story as more information becomes available.
