Lamar Odom Hits Back After ESPN Host Mocks Drug Use!
Let’s be real: Lamar Odom’s been through enough.
He lost his mother at a very young age, he lost his third child, he lost the love of his life, and he lost his career.
And yes, some of those things were more in his control than others, but still, the guy has had a tough life.
He doesn’t need to deal with others carelessly mocking him about his lowest moments.
But still, that’s what happened Thursday on the ESPN show, First Take.
Host Stephen A. Smith went off on Phil Jackson, the president of the New York Knicks — a team that signed Lamar in 2014.
“His very first move as executive was to sign Lamar Odom — who was on crack!” Smith screamed on the show.
“I love Lamar Odom the person, and God bless him and we’re wishing nothing but the best.”
“But,” he added, “metaphorically speaking, his first move as the executive of the New York Knicks was to sign Lamar Odom, who was on crack!”
As you can see, Smith wasn’t even upset about anything Lamar himself did — he just used his history with addiction to slam someone else.
And Lamar isn’t standing for it.
He had his lawyer, Saam Zangeneh, write up a letter to ESPN, and he shared the entire thing on Twitter.
In the letter, Lamar’s lawyer pointed out that “Lamar passed all the required physicals and medical tests necessary to play in the league.”
But, putting that aside, he asked the network to “look at what this statement does, not only to Lamar, but to any and all professional athletes that are struggling with addiction.”
The letter explains that addiction is a disease, and “Mr. Smith chose to jokingly disparage Lamar for having a disease.”
“Mr. Smith chose to shout out the fact that Lamar was sick, and to use his disease as the butt of a joke.”
“To say that his conduct was outrageous and unacceptable does not scratch the surface.”
“Think about the others that are battling addiction,” Lamar’s attorney suggested.
“Those that have not had the strength or opportunity tp share their struggle like Lamar.”
“Imagine the effect this grotesque statement would have on any young athlete who is privately fighting this disease. To become the punch line of a vulgar joke.”
In closing, the letter asked that “those at ESPN will actively voice their disdain for Mr. Smith’s inappropriate statement and take the proper action to support those that are fighting this disease.”
“We would hope that your network would use this situation as an opportunity to become more actively involved in this case.”
When he shared the letter on Twitter, Lamar added the hashtags “slander” and “I hope we are better than this.”
Like we said, Lamar’s been through enough, and that includes his battle with drug addiction.
Good for his lawyer for standing up for him — and shame on anyone who would use his past in such a vulgar way to insult someone else.
As Lamar pointed out, we should all be better than this.

Lamar Odom"s Family Lays Into Khloe Kardashian: What a Disgrace!
If Lamar Odom is really trying to win back Khloe Kardashian, he may want to tell certain family members to stop slamming his ex-wife.
Following the reality star’s admission that she actually faked trying to get pregnant while married to Odom, the former basketball player’s cousin has come out with some harsh words against Kardashian.
“There’s no way to defend what Khloe did. It is disgraceful,” Simone Greggs tells In Touch, holding very little back.
Odom’s relative goes on to acknowledge certain devious actions committed by her loved one, but says they don’t compare to what Khloe pulled.
“Yes, Lamar deceived Khloe with his infidelities, but she deceived him too by faking fertility treatments when she knew all along she didn’t want to bring a baby into the world.
“That’s betrayal.”
On the season finale of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Khloe admitted that she told Lamar she was undergoing IVF in order for the couple to conceive after many years of trying and failing.
But she was apparently misleading her then-husband.
“I knew the circumstances weren’t the healthiest,” Khloe said on camera, referring to her toxic marriage with the NBA star that ended more than three years ago.
“So I just kept pretending I was doing it.”
Khloe and Lamar were married for four years, but the latter struggled with an addiction to drugs and alcohol during a significant portion of their relationship.
“I had to stop [the treatments[ because there was much deeper stuff that was happening in our marriage,” Khloe said during a confessional last Sunday night, adding:
“It wasn’t the right kind of situation to bring a child into, and I think I’ve done a lot of covering up for him.”
We’re guessing Khloe would admit at this point that she didn’t handle the situation so well.
She likely should have been up front with Lamar.
But we can’t begin to understand what she was going through at the time, in terms of Lamar’s drug use and, later on, his admitted infidelity.
At this point in her life, meanwhile, it sounds as if Khloe is ready to take this major step in her personal life.
She’s been dating Cleveland Cavaliers power forward Tristan Thompson for several months now and sources say he wants to have kids.
Actually, he wants to have many kids and Kardashian is all for it.
“Tristan and I definitely talk about starting a family,” Khloe told Kim Kardashian on this same finale, adding of her boyfriend:
“He wants to have five or six kids with me and that’s lovely. We could start at one and we could grow from there.”
And they may be starting at this exact moment, as you’re reading this… considering Khloe also confessed she has gone off birth control.
As many viewers may be aware by now, Keeping Up with the Kardashians suffered a ratings crash on Season 13.
Its popularity has fallen pretty far these days, meaning producers may soon be looking for fresh and exciting storylines to freshen things up for Season 14.
In other words: Can anyone else hear wedding bells? Does anyone else think a televised ceremony may be in the works for Khloe and Tristan?
Sorry, Lamar. You really need to move on, buddy.

Lamar Odom: Heartbreaking New Details of Drug Use Revealed
Does any celebrity have a story that’s more tragic than Lamar Odom’s?
Well, probably, but still, Lamar has dealt with some unimaginable things in his 37 years, and that much is undeniable.
Lamar’s father was a heroin addict, and even in recent years, he’s been in and out of his life. His mother died from colon cancer when he was 12.
He went on to have an extremely successful career in the NBA, but obviously that didn’t last.
Lamar hasn’t played professional basketball since 2013 — about the same time he fell deep into addiction.
That addiction led to him losing his wife, Khloe Kardashian, and almost losing his life. Who could forget his 2015 overdose, the one that very nearly killed him?
But, according to a new interview with Lamar’s first ex-wife, Liza Morales, his drug use began because of another loss in his life.
The loss of his infant son, Jayden.
Jayden was Lamar and Liza’s third child — they also share a daughter, Destiny, and a son, Lamar Jr. — and he was born in 2005.
He passed away when he was just six months old from SIDS, and his death obviously had a huge impact on Lamar and Liza.
But, as Liza explains in an interview with Radar Online, “I leaned on my spirituality. I leaned heavily on my family, my friends.”
“And he didn’t.”
“There was a lot of denial,” she continues.
“When it comes to an addict, you cannot force them to get help, you cannot want it more than them. Back then we wanted it more than him.”
Lamar’s daughter, Destiny, who’s 17 years old now, elaborates on that in her own interview, this one with People.
“I’ve had conversations with him just letting him know that I want him to get help,” she says.
“But at the end of the day he’s a grown man and you have to want it for yourself.”
She also reveals that after his 2015 overdose, the entire family thought “he was going to pass away,” and when he didn’t, she gave him a choice.
“I basically gave him the ultimatum that it was rehab or him not speaking to me anymore.”
Destiny then opens up about Lamar’s relationship with Khloe, which she calls “toxic.”
“Things changed when my dad married Khloe,” she says. “Things were a lot more public.”
“When your dad’s an NBA player, that’s already enough, but when he’s marrying a reality TV star, things are so public that you don’t have a private life anymore.”
Destiny, who was 11 years old when Khloe and Lamar got married, adds that “It was crazy that my dad was getting married to this woman that I used to watch religiously.”
“It was a whirlwind, really.”
And though she struggled with that marriage, she says “I wouldn’t say it was a matter of my dad loving Khloe more than me.”
“I think my dad has an addictive personality, so he was addicted to the attention he got with Khloe more than me.”
She says that “there were regular snide comments at school” about the marriage, “and when his addiction became public, then it became a social media thing.”
“Even people that I thought were my friends were saying stuff on social media. It was humiliating.”
Thankfully, Lamar seems to be doing somewhat better these days, and it looks like his relationship with his children is improving.
And hey, from where he was, there’s nowhere to go but up, you know?

Khloe Kardashian: I Lied to Lamar Odom About My Infertility!
Something strange has happened … something that’s happened so few times in the history of the world that we have no clue how to handle it.
Something went down on Keeping Up with the Kardashians has really, truly surprised us.
After all, the show is called Keeping Up with the Kardashians for a reason — it’s not Finding Out About the Kardashians.
Everything that’s happened on the show is pretty much a recap of things we already know have happened in real life, so it’s hard to come across any new information.
Or at least any new information that’s actually interesting.
But that’s all changing now.
Yesterday, we saw a sneak peek of Khloe Kardashian visiting her doctor to talk about her fertility.
She learned that she has fewer follicles on her ovaries than the average 32-year-old woman, meaning that when she does try to get pregnant, she could have a hard time.
Khloe seemed shocked, but we honestly didn’t understand why.
After all, as we’d seen on earlier seasons of the show and in several episodes of that old gem, Khloe and Lamar, she tried for a long time to conceive with Lamar Odom.
It never happened for them, and since Lamar’s fathered children before, we assumed that something must be going on with Khloe.
But, according to information Khloe reveals in another sneak peek, that’s not exactly the case.
In the clip, which shows another part of her doctor’s appointment, she says that she’s never been pregnant before, but she has tried.
Well, she clarifies, “I fake-tried.”
Come again?
“I was married,” Khloe explains, “but I knew the circumstances weren’t the healthiest, so I just kept pretending I was trying.”
In a confessional, she says that “When I was doing my fertility treatments, like, they were more so for Lamar. I had to stop because there was much deeper stuff that was happening in our marriage.”
“I knew, you knew, that it wasn’t the right kind of situation to bring a child into, and I think I’ve done a lot of covering up for him.”
“Like, even when it made me look like I was the problem,” she adds.
“But I was fine taking on that burden on my shoulders because he had a lot of other, deeper sh-t to deal with.”
It makes sense — on all those delightful reality shows, Khloe and Lamar seemed to have a perfect, adorable marriage, but that obviously wasn’t the case.
We know that he cheated on her, and that he struggled with addiction even while they were together, but we still don’t know the extent of their problems.
However, if she felt the need to lie about trying for a baby, it’s safe to say that things were worse than we ever could have imagined.

Khloe Kardashian: Lamar Odom is STILL Trying to Win Me Back!
It may be quite some time before we find out exactly what’s going on between Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson.
Insiders say Cleveland Cavaliers forward has dumped Khloe in order to eliminate off-court distractions, but we may not know for sure until the Cavs are eliminated from the playoffs – or King James and company manage to slay the giants coming out of the West for a repeat championship.
One thing we do know for sure is that the odds of Khloe ever getting back together with Lamar Odom are virtually non-existent.
Khloe and Lamar’s divorce was finalized back in December, and while Odom has expressed hopes for a reconciliation, Khloe seems to have fully moved on.
Back in March we learned that Odom is dating Khloe look-alike, and while that may seem like an encouraging sign that he’s finally ready to leave his marriage in the past, sources close to the former NBA star say that’s not actually the case.
According to Radar Online, Khloe believes that Lamar still wants her back, and his decision to get involved with a Khloe doppelganger is just the latest in a long line of attempts to make her notice him.
“She assumes this new romance is another desperate attempt to catch her attention and she’s right,” one insider tells the site, adding:
“Lamar’s obsessed with winning Khloe back, even though it will never happen.”
Tipsters who know the former couple best say the indications that Odom still has Khloe on the brain go far beyond his decision to date a dead-ringer.
In fact, they claim even the fact that he still lives in LA is a sign that he still pictures a future with his ex:
“He promised to move back to New York and live with his dad once the divorce came though, but now he’s acting like a bigger fame whore than ever,” says one source.
“The worst part of it is that he hits up all of Khloe’s favorite hangouts and still tries to force himself on her friends – even her family,” the insider adds.
The worst part, sources claim, is that just as she was starting to feel like she and her ex was getting to a place where they could be friends, Khloe is now back to fearing that she’s not safe around Lamar.
Witnesses claim that back in March, Odom tried to fight Thompson following an argument over Khloe, and the incident left the reality star feeling as though she may soon need legal protection.
“She’ll end up having to take out a restraining order eventually,” says one anonymous friend.

Lamar Odom Laments Letting D-ck Out of Pants, Blowing Lines & Career
In the latest issue of Us Weekly, Lamar Odom opens way about up his history of drug use, his past of cheating on Khloe Kardashian and where his troubled life stands at this point.
It’s easily the most revealing Odom has ever been in one interview.
The former basketball star, who is almost better known at this point for his four-year marriage to Kardashian, admits that he probably should be dead.
He refers to himself as a “walking miracle” after he fell unconscious in October while taking drugs and having sex with a lot of women at a brothel in Las Vegas.
Odom tells the magazine that he suffered 12 strokes and two heart attacks as a result of the incident.
The 37-year old completed a stint at San Diego’s Casa Palmera rehab center in January; is working on an autobiography; and says he must be “winning” at life.
Why?
Simply because he’s alive.
Asked if Khloe was aware of his drug problem during their marriage, Lamar says yes.
He then delves into her reaction after his wife caught him doing cocaine in his “man cave” some time in 2009.
“She was disappointed. So was I,” Odom says in this cover story, adding;
“The sad thing about it is, I don’t know if I was disappointed because I was actually doing the drug or because she caught me. She knew I was doing cocaine the whole time after that. It was my drug of choice.
“I’m not going to say she accepted it because that would be the wrong word. Tolerated would be a better word.”
Does Lamar regret any appearances on Keeping Up with the Kardashians?
Or his spinoff with Khloe? Or just making his romance so public in general?
Yes and no.
Lamar says this exposure opened up new “business opportunities” for him, even referencing the fragrance (actually called “Unbreakable”) that he developed with Khloe.
But it also made him better known and painted him as “enticing” to other women.
Yes, Lamar Odom cheated on Khloe. He’s here to fully admit that.
“Bitches and THOTs came out of the woodwork,” he says to Us Weekly.
“If there is one thing I regret when I was married, it was having multiple affairs with different women. That wasn’t the stand-up thing to do. I wish I could have kept my d–k in my pants.”
Khloe finally had enough and filed for divorce in 2013.
And that’s when Odom moved into an apartment with a friend and really let loose, in the most dangerous way possible.
“I was in a very dark place and very confrontational,” he explains.
“I wasn’t trying to repair my marriage; I was just trying to get high. My life was all about drugs at that point. It probably helped the end of my career come along a little faster because drugs killed my drive to want to train and be in shape.
“It killed that and my sex drive. The only time you can f–k is when you take coke.”
Lamar goes on to say he went to the Nevada brothel almost out of boredom.
He doesn’t recall taking many drugs or doing anything particularly outlandish. But…
“When I woke up four days later, I was trying to pull the tubes out of my mouth.”
Despite all he had put her through, Khloe was by his hospital bedside when Lamar awoke.
“She played a major role in me getting my memory back. She would bring pictures of my mother and my grandmother.
“I kept thinking, ‘Am I paralyzed forever? Am I mute forever?’ It was scary shit. Faith got me through.”
Odom says he hasn’t been “intimate” with Kardashian in years and that he felt “blessed” just to be near her as he recovered; he wasn’t trying to rekindle any flame.
Why did he finally enter rehab this year?
Because his daughter basically said he had to do so… or else she’d stop talking to him.
“Living sober, meaning no drugs, is a great feeling,” Lamar says now, swearing that he’s clean and concluding:
“Being in the moment is important – how you react, respond, create. If I would have done coke last night, you would have gotten some dickhead here trying to get out of here fast.
“But you’re getting Lamar now.”
