Ariel Winter Mourns Jackson Odell, Shares Heartbreaking Message
Shock and sadness continues to emanate around Hollywood when it comes to the death of Jackson Odell.
As detailed over the weekend, the young actor and musician was found dead on Friday at what most outlets have reported as a sober living facility.
(Other outlets have written that the 20-year old was actually found dead inside his own home.)
Best known for his role as Ari Caldwell on eight episodes of The Goldbergs, Odell also appeared on episodes of Modern Family, The Fosters and Nickelodeon’s iCarly.
His movie resumes includes 2011 children’s movie Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer.
Over the past couple years, Odell had transitioned from acting into the music, having penned numerous tracks for the soundtrack of the 2018 movie Forever Your Girl, including the Lauren Alaina hit, “Wings of an Angel.”
Numerous celebrities and close friends have shared their condolence over social media since this tragic news broke, with Odell’s family releasing a statement that reads as follows:
The Odell family has lost our beloved son and brother, Jackson Odell, on Friday.
He will always be a shining light and a brilliant, loving and talented soul. He had so much more to share. Our family will always carry that truth forward.
Our wish is that the rest of the world who knew and loved him does as well.
Along with his loved ones, Modern Family actress Ariel Winter also left a note that has left the Internet in tears.
She had known Odell since he first broke into the acting business and responded to his passing with a note on Twitter. It reads:
Devastated to hear about the passing of Jackson Odell.
I knew Jackson since we were 12 years old, and he even appeared in an episode of Modern Family. We didn’t talk much as we entered our high school years, but I’m glad I got to spend time with him before his end.
Very hard for me to hear about anyone passing away, but someone so young really saddens me. Sending love to his family and friends.

Odell’s cause of death is yet to be determined.
We expect to know more this week after an autopsy is performed and the results are made public.
Radar Online has reported that he passed away from a heroin overdose, but it offers little evidence to back up this speculation and we do not want to get ahead of ourselves.
We simply hope Jackson Odell is resting in peace.
The young actor’s passing concluded a sad week overall in Hollywood.
It followed the suicide of designer Kate Spade at age 55 and the suicide of celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain at age 55.
We’ll continue to follow the details as they relate to all of these deaths and we’ll continue to keep readers up to speed regarding the latest.

Lisa Vanderpump Mourns Late Brother, Sends Message of Gratitude
Lisa Vanderpump is in mourning.
But she’s out of hiding.
The Bravo personality has understandably remained out of the spotlight for a few weeks now, ever since learning that her brother, Mark, had been found unconscious at his home in England and then pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
He was only 59 years old.
Initial reports indicated that Mark Vanderpump died of a drug overdose, although no official autopsy has been performed.
Or, if it has, the results have not been made public.
The DJ’s death actually took place on April 30 and it sounds as if his loved ones have been careful to keep various details as private as possible, which is very much their right, of course.
According to his fiancee Gemma Walker, Vanderpump deliberately took too many drugs late last month, as the British model told Radar Online yesterday that Mark committed suicide.
“It was for sure suicide,” the 36-year-old tells Radar. “I was the last person he spoke to.”
Walker went on to say that Vanderpump texted her that he was going to a “better place” shortly before he died, while even adding that he apparently texted her while in the process of passing away.
(“My fingers are getting slower,” was the final message Gemma says she was sent.)
Whether or not Mark killed himself, this is tragic news.
In response to her heartbreaking loss, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills veteran took to Instagram on Tuesday night and shared a throwback photo of the siblings.
“Rest In Peace big brother,” she wrote.
In a second picture of herself riding her horse – while dressed in black, head bowed – Lisa added:
“It’s been a devastating couple of weeks… one day at a time… I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all your love and support. Love Lisa xo.”
Vanderpump had originally said via statement that she was “shocked and saddened” by Mark’s passing, adding when this news first went viral:
“I am trying to be supportive to his two young sons that he has left behind, and help them get through this tragedy. We appreciate your consideration in this private and extremely difficult family time.”
The SUR owner’s employees and Lisa’s Vanderpump Rules co-stars took to the comments section of her Instagram account this week to send their condolences.
“I’m so sorry Lisa! Sending all my life and prayers to you and your family,” Brittany Cartwright wrote. “We love you Lisa!”
And then there was this from Tom Sandoval: “Hang in there Lisa we all love u so much!”
And this from Billie Lee chimed: “Aw babe! I’m so sorry! I love you.”
Mark Vanderpump lived in Gloucestershire, England and was once married for 22 years.
He had been with Walker for three years at the time of his death.
“This has come as a shock to us all,” Lisa said earlier this week, adding that she and her sibling were close and had just been in touch prior to his passing:
“My brother and I had connected the day before this tragedy and I was completely unprepared for this.”

Ivanka Trump: Trolled Hard for Frosty Mother"s Day Message to Ivana
Sunday was Mother’s Day, and like so many other celebrities who wrote tributes to their moms, Ivanka took to Instagram to architect a post of her own.
But she’s being slammed in the comments — even by people who seem to like her — for her brief, impersonal post about Ivana.
Is she deliberately giving her mom the cold shoulder?
Alongside an image of Ivana Trump, her mother who is one of Donald Trump’s ex-wives, Ivanka writes:
“Happy Mother’s Day to my amazing mother and the best skier I know!”
That’s a … super specific bit of praise.
“Love you.”
She follows that with a double heart emoji and a “#MothersDay” tag.
This was the accompanying image:
A number of commenters weren’t exactly overcome with emotion when they saw this glamour shot of Ivana or when they saw her daughter’s message.
“That was a weak Mother’s Day wish. Ivana, you deserve better than that.”
“How nice… but I’m sure she has some pretty amazing attributes as a mother than just being the best skier.”
“You are who you are because of her. She deserves more honor. Happy Mothers Day all!”
“Wow, that’s it?! And she’s @itsivanatrump supposed to visit you in #prison?? #prisonprep101 #LockThemAllUp.”
“Your dad should’ve been a better husband to her.”
Some of those are more political than others, obviously.
We included this image, because seeing it may highlight the brevity that alarmed so many commenters.
For a comparison, let’s look at Ivanka’s sister, Tiffany Trump, and the post that she made to her mother, Marla Maples.
Tiffany writes:
“Happy Mother’s Day! [double heart emoji] @itsmarlamaples I love you with all of my heart and I’m so grateful for all of your love!”
This caption accompanied a digital collage of photos of Tiffany and Marla:
Tiffany’s post is nearly as terse and frosty as Ivanka’s, but the photo collage is much more personal.
So perhaps it runs in the family?
At the same time, we should consider that even some of the criticisms that were not overtly political may have been politically motivated.
After all, it’s not like Ivana Trump has hordes of eager fans looking to defend her honor.
Rather, when someone is the daughter of the most hated man on the planet and plays an active role in his policies, everything that she does looks like a mistake.
That is understandable — the Mueller investigation is trudging along, but the wheels of justice move slowly.
Entertaining revelations about Trump, Russia, and Stormy Daniels aren’t really enough to distract from the waking nightmare of every day’s news.
People are looking to vent, and when the First Daughter can’t seem to synthesize enough human emotion to publish a personal Mother’s Day message, that’s as good of an opportunity as any other.
Ivanka and Tiffany’s Christmas video was much, much better than anything that they had to say about their moms.
In Ivanka’s defense, she and Jared are very busy at the moment and, in fact, they’re overseas.
In her … offense, we suppose … she and Jared are in Israel to oversee the deeply controversial moving of the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
This is seen as an insult to the Palestinian people, but some evangelical Christians believe that Trump is fulfilling biblical prophecy and ushering the world towards the End Times.
(Hey, both sides of the aisle agree that Trump is leading the world towards its destruction! A rare moment of unity, we suppose)
In the mean time, dozens of Palestinian protesters have been killed by Israeli snipers and countless others wounded.
In that context, Ivanka’s icy Mother’s Day post is sort of the least of people’s worries.

Audrey Roloff Sends Inspiring Message to Fellow Moms
Audrey Roloff recently ran through a list of seven things she loved about her daughter.
But while we’re sure the Little People, Big World star could come up with an even longer list, she’s actually here to talk about the one thing she hates about being a parent:
GUILT.
You know what she means, don’t you, fellow parents around the Internet?
This is a topic Audrey has touched on in the past, writing to her Instagram followers at one point:
“I feel guilty sometimes for not being able to just stay in bed and play with [my daughter], or for putting her in the play gym to be entertained by the dangling animals instead of me.”
That’s silly, of course.
It’s understandable and relatable, but still silly… because of course we cannot be with our kids at all times, tending to their every need 24/7.
In her latest Instagram post, Roloff again brings up the subject of guilt, but she does so in different manner.
The reality star tries to help other parents feel better about any one of a number of reasons why they may feel at the moment as if they messed something up with their child.
“Moms,” Audrey opens simply, adding:
“You’re not the only one who cut your baby’s nail too shoot. You’re not the only one who had to watch countless YouTube tutorials to figure out how to properly baby wrap.
“You’re not the only one who didn’t know what to do when your baby smacked her head on the hardwood for the first time.”
We can see what Audrey is doing here and we admire the effort.
We’d just like to point out that she could have written this note to Moms AND Dads — because there are plenty of men out there who take parenting very seriously and who feel all the the feelings Roloff is describing in this caption.
Which continues as follows:
You’re not the only one who didn’t know it’s not safe to put your baby in a puffy coat in the car seat.
You’re not the only one who didn’t know you’re supposed to start brushing your baby’s teeth from the moment you see them emerge.
You’re not the only one who is constantly googling what foods to give your baby, and how much they should be eating or how much they should be sleeping.
It’s all so very true.
Being a parent is like trying to avoid one landmine after another, on a near daily basis.
It’s impossible to ever relax, to ever feel as though you have a full grasp on what is best for your son(s) or daughter(s) because a new challenge or obstacle is always just around the corner.

You’re not the only one who has been criticized or glared at for doing something wrong. I have too. You’re not the only one. You’re not alone. Even though you might feel like it sometimes, we are all figuring out this motherhood thing as we go.

Tag a mom friend that you want to encourage.
Audrey and husband Jeremy welcomed Ember Jean into the world last September.
Both have been open about how difficult it was at first, especially for Audrey, who suffered a great deal of pain while breastfeeding.
But here they are, having overcome those initial fears and tears and confident enough to pass along all they’ve learned to other new parents across the world.
Once again, we appreciate Audrey’s intention here.
Next time, though, she can just go ahead and address both genders.

Kourtney Kardashian Shares a Message About Her Broken Heart
Kourtney Kardashian may be furious with Sofia Richie, but she has a lot of love for herself.
But when Kourtney opened up with an artistic message about how much she appreciates her amazing body, she also talks about her broken heart.
There’s a real sense of sadness, here.
Baby sister Kylie Jenner may not use Snapchat anymore, but Kourtney’s still making use of the embattled app.
Kourtney shared photo of a poem, and it really fits her brand.
It is titled:
“A love note to my body.”
And the poem begins:
“First of all, I want to say thank you.”
Very quickly, it talks about broken hearts.
“For the heart you kept beating even when it was broken.”
Kourtney has certainly known her share of heartbreak. The initial breakup with Scott Disick, of course. But it cannot have been easy to watch him be a human vortex of bad behavior throughout 2017.
And there are other heartbreaks in life that aren’t even romantic. That’s part of being a person.
“For every answer you gave me in my gut.”
Intuition can be a real life-saver.
“For loving me back even when I didn’t know how to love you.”
After that line about struggling to accept her own body, she thanks her flesh prison for its endurance.
“For every time you recovered when I pushed you past our limit.”
As a fitness-obsessed Kardashian, she’s done a lot of that.
“For today,” the poem concludes. “For waking up.”
Life itself is a great thing to celebrate.
It’s really no surprise that Kourtney is talking about her body.
Most of the Kardashians are in some way body-centric. Kylie and Khloe went through famous transformations. Kim made headlines with a sex tape and later broke the internet. Kendall is a professional supermodel.
For Kourtney, it seems to be an obsession.
Did you know that Kourtney Kardashian only weighs 98 pounds?
The fact that she has the bodyweight of a child isn’t solely the result of her being the height of one — at 5-foot-0.
She’s obsessed with fitness and with restricting things like sugar from her diet.
She also tries to avoid processed foods, and even goes so far as to make her own salad dressings at home.
You know what? It’s always possible that we’re reading too much into this.
Maybe Kourtney just found a poem that celebrates her majorly epic body and decided to share it with her followers.
Sometimes, artistic expression can really help people with things like self-acceptance and body image. The vast majority of people, even the hottest folks on the planet, would like to make some changes to their bodies.
Others would like a refund on their meat suits and ideally a replacement.
Kourtney may have chosen the poem purely for its body-appreciation qualities, and might not be sharing that she, personally, has recently felt brokenhearted.
But we do have to ask ourselves if the Kardashians ever share anything on social media by “accident.”

Selena Gomez Shares a Bikini Video and a Powerful Message
Fans weep, either with grief or relief, at the news that Selena and Justin have broken up.
Selena is also processing it … by donning a bikini and adventuring Down Under on a yacht. She won"t let her surgical scars hold her back from living her life.

Selena Gomez uploaded a fun video of herself and her companions on a yacht.
She wrote a caption for this video.
"The beauty myth," she begins. "An obsession with physical perfection."
There is actually a non-fiction book by Naomi Wolf titled The Beauty Myth, but this is not the book that has a cameo in the video below.
Selena then says that this obsession "traps modern woman in an endless cycle of hopelessness, self consciousness, and self-hatred as she tries to fulfill society’s impossible definition of flawless beauty."
Some might deride Selena, who is famously beautiful, for this statement, but, as we"ll explain, she has every right to make this statement.
"I chose to take care of myself because I want to, not to prove anything to anyone."
In the video itself, Selena Gomez and her companions are taking it easy on a yacht off of the coast of Australia.
Before you salivate at your screen wishing that you could quantum leap into Selena or one of her companions and live a similar life of luxury, remember that Selena"s been in the entertainment industry since she was a child.
Also, she very nearly died last year. She"s earned her lifestyle and she"s also earned the right to have some fun.
As for why she chose Australia — viewers can see that she"s in Sydney Harbor during at least parts of the video — we can only guess.
Maybe Selena figured that if Lupus can"t kill her, then Australia"s notoriously scary fauna can"t, either.
it is widely believed that Selena"s message about body image and her appearance on video in a bikini is not a coincidence.
And no, it"s not because she"s trying to land a replacement now that the Biebs is destroyed, devastated, and broken by their breakup.
She was recently spotted out and about in a bikini, with her scars on display.
Fans know this, so she"s speaking from the heart to make sure that they understand that she"s not ashamed of her scars, but she is conscious of them.
They"re new, and they"re a reminder of how close she came to losing her life.
So … please don"t ask why she might feel that body image issues and beauty standards are sometimes unfair, folks.

Catelynn Lowell Shares Touching Message After Returning Home from Rehab!
If you’ve been keeping up with Catelynn Lowell, then you know that these past several months have not been so kind to her.
In a way, the past several years haven’t been too kind to her, but let’s just stick with these current bad times, OK?
We’ve seen glimpses of what’s been going on, thanks to all the updates Catelynn and Tyler have shared on social media, and now that we’re getting further into this season of Teen Mom OG, the story is coming together.
Last fall, Catelynn and Tyler discussed having another child, and she was able to get pregnant pretty quickly. They told family members, and they were very excited.
But then she had a miscarriage, and it was very difficult for them both.
Things were so bad that Cate admitted to contemplating suicide, and she made the tough decision to check into a treatment center to deal with everything.
She stayed for a while before checking out early to spend the holidays with Tyler and their daughter, but quickly realized she wasn’t ready yet, so she checked back into rehab.
After completing the full six weeks, she returned home, but a few weeks after that, she announced that she’d be checking back into the same center to deal with childhood trauma and to get her medications adjusted.
She completed those six weeks of treatment, and went home just in time to film the Teen Mom reunion special.
So right now, she’s back in Michigan with her family, and hopefully she’s feeling much better now.
Well, we kind of know she’s feeling better now — she said so in a new post she made on Instagram!
The post is in the form of one of those inspirational memes you see floating around social media all the time, and it starts off with “I AM ENOUGH.”
“I am full of sparkle and compassion,” the text reads. “I genuinely want to make the world a better place. I love hard. I practice kindness. I am not afraid of the truth.”
“I am loyal, adventurous, supportive, and surprising. I am a woman. I am enough.”
The message, which Catelynn apparently thinks represents herself — and we do too, just to be clear! — continues with “I make mistakes, but I own them and learn from them.”
“Sometimes I make a lot of mistakes.”
In her own caption, she just added a bunch of emojis, like a heart and one of those kissy faces.
It is just a little Instagram post, but this is still a good sign, right?
It’s good that she’s thinking of herself in this way, and we’re hoping this means that she’s really done a lot of work in dealing with everything she’s been through.
And we’re not the only ones loving this kind of positivity — her comments were flooded with fans who are just as proud as can be of her.
“You are a beautiful, strong, amazing woman, mama, and wife!” one such person told her. “Keep fighting, girl!”
Another wrote “You ARE enough! Your journey has been inspiring & I thank you for always sharing with others because I can say it’s definitely helped me. Keep your head up!”
“Sweet girl!” yet another fan told her. “You’ve been through hell in your life and you are working through those traumas. You are beautiful, strong and an inspiration. Don’t forget that!”
It must be so nice for her to be able to hop on Instagram and see so much encouragement, right?
Of course, she does have some haters — she is a reality star, after all.
But it really does look like most people are being kind and considerate and uplifting, which is heartwarming, and almost enough to restore some faith in humanity.

Audrey Roloff Sends Farewell Message to Fans
How is this for irony?
TLC has confirmed that Audrey Roloff and her family will return to the small screen on April 3, when Little People, Big World premieres its highly-anticipated 13th season.
But just as Audrey is about to come back into your life in this regard, she’s set to depart your life in another one.
Indeed, Audrey and husband Jeremy Roloff confirmed to fans last week that they are taking a social media hiatus.
Tragically, you will not be treated to any new photos of daughter Ember Jean or any fresh musings on faith and family from this beloved twosome.
Not any time in the near future, at least, for one pretty cool reason:
The Roloffs are writing a book!
The book will “essentially [be] our love story,” Audrey explained upon making this major announcement, adding on Instagram at the time:
“We are spilling never before told tales from our dating journey, and all the ups and downs and ins and outs of our love story.
“The pages are filling up with our failures and successes, what we learned from dating and long distance, and how we prepared more for our marriage than our wedding.”
In order to complete this project and dedicate time to making it the best they can be, Audrey and Jeremy are going away for a little while.
Social media wise, that is.
Before she takes this break, though, Audrey has a few things she wants to tell her 705,000 followers.
“In case you missed our big news, @jeremyroloff and I will be taking a bit of a social media break,” she wrote over last weekend, expounding as follows:
“We’re not exactly sure how long, but we need to unplug for a bit. I saw a quote the other day that said, ‘Almost anything will work again if you unplug it for a minute or two. Especially you."”
Here’s the thing, however: Audrey is signing off for more just a minute.
She says it will be a minimum of a “few weeks in order to give undivided attention to writing our book and being with our baby girl.”
Those are two very important things, no doubt.
So, what are fans to do in the meantime?
They can go watch Little People, Big World online to get their fill of the Roloffs, as always.
And also…
“Turn on post notifications for my account so you know when I’m back! Otherwise the Instagram algorithm will make me disappear from your feed forever,” Audrey notes.
In the meantime, she leaves loyal supporters with three pieces of advice:

Khloe Kardashian Shares Message of Hope for Unborn Daughter
Khloe Kardashian is over it.
She was taken aback at first by the reveal her her child’s gender, as witnessed by viewers of the Keeping Up with the Kardashians finale on Sunday night, but now Khloe has shifted her focus.
She’s not just down with having a daughter…
… she has some words of wisdom to pass along to this unborn small human being.
The 33-year old posted a new blog entry on her app yesterday, where she answered fill-in-the-blank questions about her impending little girl.
It was titled “All My Hopes For My Daughter” and it focused on Kardashian’s fondest aspirations for her future bundle of joy.
It also took us back to the moment during which Khloe learned she was not having a son, despite her strong convictions otherwise.
“I can’t believe I’m having a girl! It was such a special moment and I’m so happy I got to share it with you guys,” she wrote to open this blog post.
That’s quite the turnaround for Khloe, who simply could not believe on the aforementioned finale that she was growing a girl inside her womb.
“I don’t feel like I’m having a girl at all. I’m like in a state of shock,” Khloe said over and over on air, making it sound like she was disappointed by the news.
But she later clarified a few things:
- She has a boy named picked out, so that simply would have been easier.
- She was simply surprised, due to her premonition of giving birth to a son.
- She is pregnant, remember.
“God gives us what we need! His timing is never wrong! my hormones were IN RARE FORM for that news,” Khloe joked on Twitter shortly after the finale aired, adding:

“We listen to it now. All Anita Baker, Michael McDonald, Marvin Gaye, Patti LaBelle, Michael Jackson…real music!”
As for dating? And as for when she’ll let her daughter watch Keeping Up with the Kardashians online or on television?
Not before she’s a teenager, Khloe says. For both these activities.
But Kardashian also tackled some more serious topics in this post.
For example, the long-time star said she wants her baby to develop “loyalty and family unity.”
And, when asked if her daughter could excel at just one thing, the Revenge Body actress answered that she hopes it will be “self-love.”

Farrah Abraham Sends Final Message to Teen Mom Cast
As many adult entertainment fans know well, Farrah Abraham has no problem with the backdoor.
But the long-time MTV personality has now been shown a door of a very different kind:
She’s been fired from Teen Mom OG.
Not only has the controversial parent been let go from this franchise, she’s already been replaced.
Sources tell The Hollywood Gossip that former Teen Mom 3 star Mackenzie McKee is already shooting episodes as the latest OG series regular.
How does Abraham feel about this development?
She previously told Us Weekly that the show will miss its “biggest star” and that she’s content to focus now on “scripted opportunities, taking a pretty high road for someone who has never been afraid to hurl some serious shade at producers and colleagues over the years.
And now Farrah has spoken out again about her departure.
Did she slam the living heck out of McKee or any of her veteran co-stars?
Not really, we’re very sad to report.
“I wish all the women of Teen Mom the best as their jealousy, hatred, and women-hating should stop and more so lift up and empower women,” Abraham told PopCulture.com on Friday, adding:
“This show lacks [confidence], [security], honesty and integrity, which is why the adults of this show must be controlled and puppeteered by producers and staff.”
Not exactly a sweet parting shot.
But nothing like what Abraham has said in past about the series, either.
Speaking specifically to Catelynn Lowell, Maci Bookout and Amber Portwood, Farrah said she hopes these women really take a long look in the mirror.
If not for themselves, then for their kids.
“The effect on their children is concerning,” she says. “I deeply hope the mothers and fathers take their children’s development and safety more serious.”
As someone who keeps nude photos of her young daughter on her phone, Farrah does know a thing or two about proper child development and treatment.
“As I start a new chapter, I wish all the families the best in safety and health,” she concluded in this interview, ending on as mature a note as she could muster.
Having seemingly accepted her fate, Farrah also sent a message to her haters and critics.
She knows they are out there. She knows they are waiting to jump on her every word and action.
But they can talk all the walk they want, she taunts; she’s out here walking the damn walk!
“To make a change in society, ‘see something say something,"” she explained here.
“Many [trolls] aren’t leaders and making world changes. I chose this life, I will always continue to make this world a better place above all the lies and attacks against me.”
What kind of legacy does Farrah think she has left?
Where does she rank herself among all time villains or favorites on MTV or even on other networks?
She didn’t say, exactly.
However, just like the erect penises of men who view her sex tape are pointing toward the ceiling, she is holding her head up high:
“I think I’ve done this better than most in reality TV.”

Aly Raisman Poses Nude, Shares Inspiring Message
Aly Raisman is one of the survivors of the disgraced Dr. Larry Nassar’s “treatments.” She’s also an accomplished Olympic gymnast.
Now, she’s using her fame — and her body — for a very good cause.
And she’s doing it by defying her critics and posing nude.
Back in November, Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman revealed that she had been molested by Dr. Larry Nassar, her team doctor.
In speaking out, she joined McKayla Maroney and others in condemning the man. His accusers now number over 140.
Bravely, Aly Raisman shared the details of the sick abuse. Under the guise of medical treatment, she and so many other girls were molested over the course of years.
Now, Aly is a grown woman and she’s lending her voice to an important cause — gender equality.
A huge part of that is helping to erase the horrifying, patriarchal notion that a woman is only worthy of respect or personhood if she dresses “modestly.”
In the captions of this bold nude photo, Aly writes:
“Women do not have to be modest to be respected– Live for you!”
Women do not have to be modest to be respected is also what she has written along her torso and leg.
“Everyone should feel comfortable expressing themselves however makes them happy.”
That is absolutely true. Whether a woman wants to wear nothing but pasties and glitter or a full-on niqab, that’s her business. It really shouldn’t be anyone else’s.
And neither outfit is morally superior to the other.
“Women can be intelligent, fierce, sexy, powerful, strong, advocate for change while wearing what makes them feel best.”
She’s absolutely right.
“The time where women are taught to be ashamed of their bodies is OVER.”
Some suggest that, as a sex abuse survivor, she should feel compelled to hide her body. It’s sickening that some people would try to use her tragic history to impose their views of sexuality and nudity upon her.
“The female body is beautiful and we should all be proud of who we are, inside and out.”
And of course she gave a big shout-out to the people who made that photo possible:
“Thank you so much @si_swimsuit @mj_day @darciebaum @ja_neyney @taylorbphoto & the rest of the team.”
It is, of course, wonderful to see Aly Raisman speaking loudly and bravely about women’s equality.
Particularly just after Dr. Larry Nassar has received so much attention — for sex abuse and for possessing child pornography.
One cannot help but note that Aly’s quote, which she has scrawled upon her body, seems to be a reference to that time when Gabby Douglas seemed to victim-blame Aly Raisman.
“It is our responsibility as women to dress modestly and be classy,” Gabby wrote in a cringeworthy post. “Dressing in a provocative/sexual way entices the wrong crowd.”
One, it literally does not entice the wrong crowd. If someone’s a sexual harasser or a more serious predator, they’re not deterred by clothing.
if a predator targets a woman, it’s always the predator’s fault.
Gabby Douglas admitted that she, too was a survivor of Dr. Nassar’s abuse. Different people cope with and react to trauma in different ways, and what she said may have come from a place of her own personal pain.
We’re curious about the eclipsing of Aly’s arm, where “Fierce” is written. Is this photo merely an outtake?
Or is she taking the word “fierce” out of the equation, because the rest of the statement is true for all women — fierce or otherwise.
Regardless of the meaning — photography is art, and open to interpretation — it’s a beautiful photo.
Aly Raisman is an incredible young woman.

Kim Cattrall Sends VERY Clear Message to Sarah Jessica Parker
Kim Cattrall was known on Sex and the City for portraying a character who always spoke her mind.
And it’s now evident that that the role of Samantha Jones was a bit of type-casting, considering the simple and direct share Cattrall just hurled in the direction of a former co-star.
In a very straightforward Instagram message shared on Saturday morning, for ex-HBO star addressed Sarah Jessica Parker, the former lead on the series that made both women very rich and very famous.
“My Mom asked me today “When will that @sarahjessicaparker, that hypocrite, leave you alone?” opened Cattrall on social media.
She then set her sights specifically on Parker and wrote:
“Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now. Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already):
“You are not my family. You are not my friend.
“So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona.”
The bold up above is our own because thought these words required emphasis.
There had long been rumored tension between Cattrall and Parker, dating back to when the actress co-starred on Sex and the City the TV show.
They put aside their differences for many seasons, however, and then also through a pair of movies.
But everything blew up publicly last fall after Parker told Extra that a script had been penned for Sex and the City 3 and that everyone was on board to film…
… except for Cattrall.
She referred to this hold out as “disappointing.”
Cattrall then took exception to Parker taking her beef public, considering Kim says she was never, ever open to shooting another movie.
She held no bitter feeling. She even encouraged producers to find another actress for Samantha.
She had simply moved on — and here was Parker, taking her to task for simply making a personal and professional decision.
“At this very moment it’s quite extraordinary to get any kind of negative press about something that I’ve been saying for almost a year of ‘no’ that I’m demanding or a diva,” Cattrall told Piers Morgan in an interview last October, adding of Parker in particular:
“And this is really where I take to task the people from Sex and the City and specifically Sarah Jessica Parker, in that I think she could have been nicer.”
So it was obvious at that time that the stars weren’t very close.
But then Cattrall’s brother went missing and was eventually found dead.
In response to the tragedy, Parker wrote the following on Instagram:
Dearest Kim, my love and condolences to you and yours and Godspeed to your beloved brother. Xx.
This appears to be the basis for Cattrall’s latest message.
She feels as though Parker wasn’t being sincere, pretending as if she and Cattrall were good friends when, in reality, they are anything but.
Wrote Cattrall shortly after she learned of her brother’s death:
“It is with great sadness that myself and my family announce the unexpected passing of our son and brother, Chris Cattrall.
“At this time we ask for privacy but we want to thank you all on social media for your outpouring of love and support in this trying time.”
Did Parker mean well with her Instagram reply to this confirmation?
Or was she exploiting the sad situation for PR sake, to make it look like she’s a caring individual when, according to Cattrall, there’s no relationship of any kind about which Parker should care.
It’s clear on which side of this debate Cattrall falls.
And it’s also now VERY clear that there will no Sex and the City 3, not with Cattrall as Jones at least.
