Glenn Weiss Wins Emmy, PROPOSES ON STAGE!
Barry, Game of Thrones and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel all had big nights at the 2018 Emmy Awards.
But no one had a bigger night than Glenn Weiss.
First, the heretofore little known director won Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special due to his work at the Academy Awards.
Then, he won the eternal love of girlfriend Jan Svendsen.
After hearing his name called, Weiss walked up to the stage and he thanked his daughters and friends at ABC. The acceptance started out as your typical speech.
From there, he started speak about his mother, who died just two weeks ago, telling the audience:
“Part of my heart is broken. I don’t think it will ever be repaired. But she’s in me and she always will be."
Weiss explained how his mother always believed in “finding the sunshine,” leading him to denote Svensen as “the sunshine in my life," as he continued:
"And Mom was right, don’t ever let go of your sunshine. You wonder why I don’t like to call you my girlfriend? Because I want to call you my wife."
At this word, the crowd erupted in a loud cheer and Svensen shouted "yes."
It really was an awesome moment.
Svendsen was quickly ushered up to the stage by Milo Ventimiglia and a few other stars until she reached the arms of Weiss.
As she was walking up, he joked that “I didn’t ask yet. I didn’t ask yet."
But once she was in front of him, Weiss pulled out his dad"s engagement ring and got down on one knee.
"Jan, I want to put this ring that my mom wore on your finger in front of all these people and in front of my mom and your parents watching from above. Will you marry me?" he asked.
And you can guess how she responded, right?
By saying YES!
Later on, backstage, the newly-engaged couple told reporters how they met 10 years ago and both have daughters and both produce television shows and how Jan had no idea this was going to happen.
“I had no suspicions whatsoever, I had no idea,” she said. “I really hoped he was going to dedicate the award to his mother, and he did, and then some.”
Really beautiful stuff.

Javi Marroquin Proposes to Briana, Gets Brutally Rejected
WARNING:
This is about to get very awkward.
On the June 25, 2018 episode of Teen Mom 2, Javi Marroquin proposed to Briana DeJesus.
This is especially weird to read right now, considering Javi is expecting a baby with Lauren Comeau and his relationship with Briana has been over for months.
But the installment was filmed a long time ago and it"s worth revisiting exactly how this shocking proposal came to be.
Note that we wrote shocking and not romantic because… well… you"re about to find out why. This may not have been Javi"s finest moment.

1. What Is It About This Guy?!?
We don’t know if it says more about Javi or the women he chooses, but the dude has slept with Briana, Kailyn Lowry AND Comeau over the course of about six months. (Some) women just can’t resist him for some reason.
2. RIP, Javi and Briana
Their relationship burned hard and bright for a few months toward the end of 2017, but then it fizzled out. Briana has hinted that Javi wanted another kid, which was never on her mind, and has also said she never would have considered moving to his home state of Delaware.
3. But Wait a Second…
… let’s go back in time. Marroquin and DeJesus have been hot and heavy for the duration of this new Teen Mom 2 season, culiminating in a proposal that no one really saw coming this past Monday evening.
4. Check Out This Rock!
Ahead of possibly being deployed by the Air Force, Javi bought an engagement for his short-time girlfriend, telling his sister, who said it was too soon to pop the question.
5. A Surprise, Ruined
On this new episode, Javi asked for the blessing of Briana’s mother, Roxanne, which was guess was a noble and nice thing for him to do. But it backfired on him.
6. In What Way?
In this way: Roxanne told her daughter of Marroquin’s plans! She then asked Briana if she would say yes, to which DeJesus replied “I don’t know” and then simply added “it’s nobody’s business really.” (NOTE: This is not true, Bri. You literally said this in front of MTV cameras. It’s the business of anyone watching.)

Carlos Correa Wins World Series, Proposes on Field, Has Won Life
Carlos Correa is a handsome 23-year old shortstop who is one of the best young players in baseball.
He helped his team, the Houston Astros, win their first-ever World Series on Wednesday night, as they defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers by a score of 5-1.
The guy could have gone out on the town afterward and had his pick of women to take home.
But it turns out Correa had already selected his woman a long time ago: Daniella Rodriguez, who was crowned Miss Texas USA in 2016.
Therefore, after celebrating with his teammates on the field, the All-Star stopped to chat with reporter Ken Rosenthal, only to interrupt his own interview because he simply could not wait any longer.
You make me the happiest person in the world, he told Rodriguez while the Fox camera rolled.
Will you marry me?
The 22-year old beauty pageant champion didn"t even reply at first. Not verbally, at least.
She burst into tears and simply kissed Correa right smack on the lips for an extended period of time.
"I was planning if we were World Series champions, I was going to do it right there," Correa told ESPN later in the night, adding:
"I don"t think that"s a stage you can create; it just has to happen. And we were able to win tonight, so perfect timing for me to get engaged."
The shortstop said he told a clubhouse attendant to please go fetch the ring in the ninth inning, once victory really did seem imminent for Houston.
"It doesn"t get any better," the 23-year-old Correa later said.
That"s for sure.

Kit Harington Bends the Knee, Proposes to Rose Leslie!
To conclude Game of Thrones Season 7, Jon Snow bended the knee and pledged his loyalty to Daenerys Targaryen.
He then made sweet, sweet love to her on a boat.
Now, in a prime example of life imitating art, the actor who portrays Jon Snow on this HBO epic has gotten down on one knee and proposed marriage to Rose Leslie!
And she said yes!
So we can only presume some sweet lovemaking commenced following this exciting development as well.
(We can also presume that Leslie is NOT Kit Harington’s aunt, making their relationship far less sordid and controversial than the fictional one between Jon Snow and the Mother of Dragons.)
Harington and Leslie met on the set of Game of Thrones.
Leslie’s character of Ygritte was a Wildling who took Jon Snow’s virginity inside a cave and who was later killed off during a battle at The Wall on Season 4.
The stars themselves, meanwhile, have been dating for about five years now.
Speculation over their engaged status started in earnest over the summer, with The Sun now reporting that Harington and Leslie have been telling friends and loved ones that they are, indeed, betrothed.
Details on the proposal aren’t clear at this time, however.
“They’re yet to set a date, but told friends and family last week that they’ve got engaged,” an insider tells this British newspaper, adding of the actor:
“Kit’s known for ages he’s wanted to marry Rose but he wanted them to get a house and settle down a bit first.”
The couple recently moved in to a mansion in East Anglia, setting up this next logical move in their relationship.
“He felt it was the right time to take the next step,” a source says of Harington.
The handsome star, of course, has anchored Game of Thrones in the vital role of Jon Snow ever since the drama premiered on HBO.
Leslie, meanwhile, also appeared on numerous episodes of Downton Abbey and is now a series regular on The Good Fight.
Seeing as the pair shot down engagement rumors reported by Life & Style a few months ago, and yet have NOT denied this new round of chatter, we’re going to go ahead and assume it’s accurate.
In which case: Congratulations to Harington and Leslie!

Best Man Proposes to His Girlfriend During Wedding Ceremony: Not OK
Weddings are beautiful, special, happy occasions, full of love and good feelings and just so much joy.
Except when they’re not.
And in a story shared in in Slate’s advice column, Dear Prudence, we see what happens when perfectly lovely weddings take a dark, scary turn.
A woman wrote in to Dear Prudence, asking for advice about a certain event that occurred at her wedding.
As she explained, “My husband and I started dating, got pregnant, had a child, moved in together, bought a house, and got a dog in that order.”
She wrote that in all that time, friends and family kept asking them when they planned on getting married, but that they just kept postponing it “to build better lives.”
After a while, they were able to afford a “huge blowout wedding,” and so they did.
Her now-husband chose his best friend, who she called John, to be his best man — and John was also able to officiate the ceremony. How special, right?
On the day of that great big wedding, “everyone seemed happy” and the guests were “overjoyed” that this moment had finally come.
The bride wrote that “the entire atmosphere felt moving” — in fact, it was so moving that John “stopped mid-ceremony to propose to his longtime girlfriend, ‘Jane,’ and reveal her pregnancy.”
Hold the damn phone.
The best man is actually performing the ceremony, and in the middle of everything, he stops to have his own moment?
Well, at least it can’t possibly get worse, right?
Ha ha, just kidding, of course it can.
This poor woman said that “I couldn’t even hear the vows my husband wrote or the rest of the ceremony over the noise of Jane’s happy sobs, her very surprised family who were also guests, and people seated nearby congratulating her.”
“Even the videographer cut to her frequently during the ceremony, and you can’t hear anything over the chatter.”
And when, when the best man gave his toast, “he apologized for being caught up in the moment, and then proceeded to talk about he and Jane’s future with nary a mention of us.”
… Well, surely it can’t get worse than that.
Except that “During the reception John and Jane became the primary focus of our guests. John even went out of his way to ask the band for a special dance just for him and Jane on the dance floor.”
This woman wrote into Dear Prudence to ask for advice on how to move forward, because she’s “shocked and angry” about what happened.
And honestly, it’s a miracle that she isn’t shocked and angry and in prison awaiting a murder trial.
Her husband, meanwhile, hasn’t spoken to the best man, and “has joked that he’ll resume his friendship when John and Jane give him a $ 40,000 check for ‘their half of the wedding."”
So not only were things bad enough that this couple feels like the best man stole their thunder hard enough that half of the wedding was theirs …
But this was an $ 80,000 wedding.
Good ol’ Prudence advised the woman to encourage her husband to have “a difficult conversation” with the best man about what happened in an attempt to save the friendship.
However, Twitter was not so kind.
“Unbelievably rude and self-absorbed,” one person tweeted. “During the fecking ceremony?! Their asses wouldn’t have got into my reception!”
“DO NOT TRY THIS AT MY WEDDING,” another advised. “I can fight in a tux.”
One particularly imaginative person gave the advice to “Stay friendly. Go to their wedding. Take a [poop emoji] in the aisle mid ceremony. Walk away. Even Steven.”
Makes sense to us.

Khloe Kardashian: If Tristan Thompson Proposes, I"ll Say Yes!
We’ll say this about Khloe Kardashian: girl knows what she wants in life, and she’s not afraid to go after it.
For example, even though she’s only been dating Tristan Thompson for about seven months, she is completely ready to not only marry him, but to start a family with him.
You’d think she’d be a little more cautious — she married Lamar Odom just weeks after meeting him, and though they were happily married for a good few years, it ultimately ended in just so much heartbreak.
It also seems important to note that a few months into Khloe’s relationship with Tristan, he welcomed a child with another woman, which seems a little … complicated.
But still, the heart wants what it wants, and Khloe’s heart is pretty set on Tristan right now.
And in a new interview with the Evening Standard, Khloe told the whole world all about it.
She explains that last August, a friend of hers told her “I have someone that I want you to meet.” She told the friend, “Absolutely not, I don’t go on blind dates.”
But — surprise, surprise! — the man Khloe was to be set up with was Tristan, and she finally did end up going on the blind date.
And when they met, she says “we both felt this strong energy. I was like, oh, this is such a nice, normal man — the normalcy is what I was craving.”
She adds that “I’m a Christian; he’s a believer in God and that’s important to me. Tristan’s morals and ethics are everything I’ve wanted and need in my life.”
She says that they split their time between her home in L.A. and his in Cleveland, and that while he’s “great” with all the public attention that comes with dating a Kardashian, she’s “sure it’s overwhelming.”
One time they were on vacation, and though they thought they’d avoided paparazzi, photos from their time together were published anyway.
“I was like ‘I’m so sorry,"” she remembers, “and Tristan was like ‘It’s OK.’ You could tell that it was a big pill to swallow.”
“But he accepts who I am. He likes to protect me, which I haven’t had before — someone looking out for me almost before himself.”
At one point in the interview, Khloe was asked if she’d say yes if Tristan were to propose at this point in their relationship.
“Yes, I would,” she answers. But that’s not all …
When asked about any goals she has yet to achieve, she says “I would love to have a family.”
She says she and Tristan have “talked about it,” and “He is a father, and I know for a fact that he would be an impeccable father.”
“I definitely want to be a mom. But I don’t put the pressure on it. It’s not like, ‘the clock is ticking.’ I feel in my soul it would happen.”
So it really does seem like she’s on the fast track to marrying and procreating with Tristan, right?

Journalist Proposes to Girlfriend, Immediately Vomits
Darrell Hamilton, Jr. is a California-based video journalist who had a very romantic idea last month.
He wanted to propose to his girlfriend, Rheanna Lopez, during a private plane ride on February 11.
How nice, right? How sweet, no? How… gross and disgusting?
In the end, yes. But also: how memorable!
As documented in the video below, Hamilton underestimated the sensitivity of his stomach while on board such a small air craft.
He felt extreme nausea building up as the plane bobbed and weaved through the air, but he at least kept any and all vomit down until after he pulled out a diamond ring and asked the key question.
And then he immediately threw up.
"Rheanna just really likes outdoors and nature and I thought it"d be a cool idea to give her a nice view," said Hamilton in an interview with ABC News on Sunday, adding that his girlfriend of two years had only flown in a commercial plane once before.
Earlier in the day, the couple walked along Reedley Blossom Trail in Reedley, California, where Hamilton snapped photo.
Following their hike, Hamilton whisked Lopez off to a nearby airport to kick off the surprise.
"It had nothing to do with being nervous," he says of getting ill, explaining:
"I got sick from being inside the plane. It was a really small plane and the pilot was helping me look for the sign I made her. The tilting kind of messed with my stomach…
"I couldn"t hold it much longer. I just tapped her on the shoulder. I didn"t even ask her. I just gave her the ring."
