Donald Trump to Piers Morgan: Why Should I Apologize For Racist Tweets?

The campaign and presidency of Donald Trump have brought all manner of D-list boot-lickers out of the woodwork, many of whom have attempted to forge second careers out of their willingness to publicly fellate the Donald.

Scott Baio, Omarosa, Ted Nugent, and Stacey Dash are just some of the lackeys to emerge from the “where are they now?” file in hopes of winning Trump’s favor.

But of all the has-beens who have put their remnants of their reputations on the line for a man who clearly has no loyalty to his minions (ask Steve Bannon about that one) perhaps none is more perplexing than Piers Morgan.

In the States, Morgan might be best known as the guy who once co-hosted a cut-rate talent show with Sharon Osbourne, but in his native UK, he still has a career.

As the host of Good Morning Britain is basically the British equivalent of Matt Lauer … and we say that with full awareness that Lauer is a creep who was despised by his co-workers and received praise only when he announced his decision to finally go away.

On this morning’s show, Piers was as giddy as a schoolgirl, having finally secured an interview with his longtime Twitter crush, DJT.

For the most part, Morgan lobbed a bunch of softball nonsense at the president, but remarkably, he did actually broach a difficult subject by bringing up Trump’s retweets of Britain First, a bigoted hate group whose views have been universally condemned by British politicians.

Trump didn’t deny that he retweeted the group three times (“Well, three times. Boom, boom, boom. Quickly. Yeah,” he hilariously described the action), but he also refused to apologize for one of the dumbest moves of a presidency characterized solely by dumb moves.

“Here’s what’s fair: If you’re telling me they’re horrible, racist people I would certainly apologize, if you’d like me to do that. I know nothing about them,” Trump said.

When Morgan basically replied, “That’s some Palin-caliber word salad there, boss, but folks hane more finely-tuned BS detectors on this side of the pond,” Trump elaborated thusly:

“I don’t want to be involved with people like that. But you’re telling me about these people because I know nothing about these people.”

That was apparently good enough for Piers who took to Twitter after the interview to declare that Trump had “publicly apologised.”

Now, obviously, dumb Trump tweets are nothing new, but the Britain First links took things to a dangerous new level, as for the first time, the president was presenting an immediate physical threat to civilians of an allied nation.

Britain First followers have been known to engage in racially-charged hate crimes, and when their views are legitimized by none other than the president of the United States, it makes life measurably more dangerous for civilians in the UK and throughout the world.

As this week’s CNN threats reminded us, the president’s words have real-world consequences, and what’s nothing more than a petty social media feud to Trump is a literal call to arms for some of his followers.

But hey, if his apology is good enough for Piers Morgan, were sure it’s good enough to quell the homicidal rage of a heavily-armed far-right militia group.

Serena Williams Covers Vogue, Gets Bashed By Racist Trolls

Yes, we know everyone wants Oprah to be president after her Golden Globes speech on Sunday night, but for our money, if there’s anyone who can unite this divided country, it’s Serena Williams.

Serena is one of the world’s most dominant athletes; she’s an inspiration to millions; she won a freakin’ Australian Open while pregnant, and she’s married to a tech gazillionaire.

What we’re saying is, we will personally engage in fisticuffs with anyone who has even the slightest complaint about Serena.

Which sadly means we’re gonna have to fight a bunch of basement-dwelling, bigtoted troglodytes.

As you can seen, Serena covers the new issue of Vogue with her adorable 4-month-old daughter.

And as further proof that we’re living in the Darkest Timeline, people are upset about it.

Yes, as hard as it might be to believe that anyone could be so bitter about their own crappy life that they would take issue with a photo of a world-class athlete and her 4-month-old baby, it seems the goal of 2018 is to remind us each and every day that the planet is populated by humans so cartoonishly evil that they wouldn’t be welcome in Slytherin House.

As you may already know, Serena is married to Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit.

You would think that as one of the creators of the internet’s most popular anonymous sh-t talking dens, Ohanian would be beloved by anonymous sh-t talkers.

But apparently that’s not the case.

In fact, it seems many of the people who commented believe Serena and Alexis should never have married or reproduced because–long, pained sigh–she’s black and he’s white.

“Serena is a disgrace to her parents, grandparents, African ancestors because she married and mated with a European knowing that his ancestors owned Africans as SLAVES,” wrote one commenter who’s probably a lot of fun at parties.

A good rule of thumb is that no one who uses the word “mated” in casual conversation is even remotely sane.

As usual, there were also people who talked disparagingly about Serena’s appearance and even–anguished, audible groan–the appearance of her baby.

But we’re not going to reproduce those comments here.

In fact, we’re leaving all that negativity and BS in 2017, folks!

It’s all positive vibes and hydration and whatnot from here on out!

Now if you’ll excuse us, we have Real Housewives to make fun of.

Damn, we’re messing this up already, aren’t we?

H&M Apologizes for Extremely Racist Sweatshirt

H&M is very sorry.

The clothing company says it knows it messed up big time by selling a sweatshirt online with the saying “Coolest Monkey in the Jungle,” especially when one considers the model it used to sell said item:

A young African-American.

Yes.

Someone in the marketing department (likely multiple someones in the marketing department) approved the idea of an African-American child modeling something that reads “Coolest Monkey in the Jungle.”

This actually happened.

And it was noticed by a few famous people on the Internet.

Wrote Questlove, for instance, along with a photo of the boy and his shirt:

I’m sure the apologies are a coming. And the ads will be pulled. I’m certain there will Be media fixers and whatnot and maybe a grand gesture like a donation to some charity (donations under these circumstances are the corporate version #SomeOfMyBestFriendsAre move if there ever was one).

All this tells me about @HM is that the seats in the boardroom lack something…wanna take a guess?

LeBron James, meanwhile, dunked all over the retailer.

LBJ response

On his Instagram page, the basketball legend replaced the controversial slogan with the photo of a crown, while also editing in a crown on the child’s head.

And he wrote in a passionate caption:

@hm u got us all wrong! And we ain’t going for it! Straight up! Enough about y’all and more of what I see when I look at this photo. I see a Young King!!

The ruler of the world, an untouchable Force that can never be denied!

We as African Americans will always have to break barriers, prove people wrong and work even harder to prove we belong but guess what, that’s what we love because the benefits at the end of the road are so beautiful!!

As for Diddy?

He went a similar route, photoshopping “Coolest King in the World” on to the shirt and writing:

Put some respect on it!! When you look at us make sure you see royalty and super natural God sent glory!! Anything else is disrespectful.

Other World Wide Web users were less generous, writing responses such as the following:

hm backlash

As of Monday morning, H&M had removed the ad from its website, a spokesperson confirmed CNBC, yet it continued to sell the hooded top online, just not in America.

It also said via statement:

“We sincerely apologize for offending people with this image of a printed hooded top.

“We believe in diversity and inclusion in all that we do and will be reviewing all our internal policies accordingly to avoid any future issues.”

With this terrible decision, H&M joined other retailers who were forced to apologize for various kinds of offensive attire.

Remember the Kent State sweatshirt with blood splatter, for instance?

Or that “I Drink You’re Cute” top?

Relive some of the worst clothing decisions in capitalism history below:

Cardi B GOES OFF on "Racist" Albany, Says She Hates Weed

It’s a controversial time these days to be a member of the Love & Hip Hop community.

And, yes, we know what you’re thinking:

When is it NOT a controversial time for those who star on this VH1 franchise?

But a couple of recent incidents have really shed some scandalous light on two legendary Love & Hip Hop personalities.

First, Hazel-E positively slammed gay people and dark-skinned women via an Instagram rant that must be read to be believed.

And now Cardi B is here to insult an entire city in the state of New York.

The artist was given the boot over the weekend from a Hilton hotel in Albany because her and her entourage were accused of smoking marijuana.

While no one from the hotel itself has confirmed this took place, local police have at least told E! News that they responded to a report from the establishment.

Shortly afterward, TMZ shared a video of Cardi B exiting the premises and screaming at some “racist motherf-cker” nearby… while also seeming to known down a display.

Then, on Sunday morning, Cardi B went ahead and addressed the controversy. As only she can.

“So me & my team got kicked out of this hotel in Albany cause my floor smell like weed… I hate weed,” she Tweeted yesterday morning.

Okay, simple enough. There’s her side and her defense.

But Cardi B was far from finished.

“You wanna know something? Albany is known for being racist,” she added in a separate Instagram video, getting worked up and elaborating:

“The floor that I was staying in in my hotel room, it smelled like weed.

“So the cops came in the middle of the night, knocking on my manager and on my door, talking about that we were smoking weed and we gotta get kicked out.”

These cops clearly aren’t among the nearly 11.8 million people who follow Cardi B on Instagram or watch her antics on television, however.

Otherwise, she says, they would know “I do not smoke weed; I get very paranoid.”

As for her friends and colleagues?

“None of my team members smoke weed. We could all get drug tests – nobody smokes. Nobody smokes.

“Especially when I’m sleeping and…you’re not gonna do that to me. Mind you, everybody on the floor was Caucasian but you wanna kick us out.”

She continued:

“And then n—as is just gonna pick out of everybody on the floor, Caucasians, that it was us that was smoking the weed in the middle of the night?

“That s–t is not f–king right. Like, n—as was really being racists. Motherf–kers was being prejudiced and picking on who the f–k they thought that was smoking weed and you got the wrong f–king one.

“I’m telling you, I do not smoke weed.”

Cardi B concluded that she hesitates to pull the “race card” because typically she doesn’t roll like that.

But what choice does she have in view of what happened?

“That is the only explanation that I could f-cking find because I don’t understand,” she said, adding:

“I don’t walk around with a whole entourage; it just be me, my manager, my security guard, the DJ and my dancers and nobody smokes weed.

“So for motherf-ckers to just say like, ‘Oh, we’re kicking you guys out because there’s a smell of marijuana,’ so why don’t ya’ll search the room? And then they told us that earlier, there was some rap artist that was smoking weed and they got kicked out too.

“We’re not associated with them. So why- I just can’t. I can’t, really. I really can’t.”

Kim Zolciak: SUING NeNe Leakes for Calling Her a Racist!

You always assume that at least a decent chunk of the drama on the Real Housewives franchise is because everyone knows that the camera is there. People want screentime, they want fans, they want gifs, and they know that stirring drama and acting out can get that for them.

But sometimes, those conflicts spill off of the show and even off of social media. And now the feud between two stars of The Real Housewives of Atlanta could be on its way to court.

Kim Zolciak is fuming at NeNe Leakes’ recent comments, and it’s enough that she’s hired a lawyer. Oh, boy.

The long-standing (thought occasionally on-again, off-again) feud between NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak has been a real asset to The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

People don’t tune in to reality television to watch people getting along and talking about having their pool installed. They want conflict.

We don’t know that this says anything great about human nature, but peaceful coexistence is not entertainment.

Anyway, unfortunately, when it comes to reality shows, the line between what’s just for show and what’s personal can so often become blurred.

The most recent spat between these two Housewives revolves around what NeNe Leakes said about Brielle Biermann.

Quite frankly, you don’t have to be Brielle’s mother to feel that NeNe crossed the line.

Basically what happened was that Brielle has been a tangential part of her mom’s feud with NeNe for a while.

We suppose that it’s not uncommon for adult daughters — Brielle is 20 years old and old enough to, you know, have opinions about her mom’s frenemies.

In a video that Brielle recorded at NeNe’s home, Brielle mentions what appears to be a roach infestation and shows footage of multiple dark beetles that appear to be roaches.

Gross!

Let’s be clear — sometimes a few roaches can end up in someone’s house, especially if there’s a party where doors spend any amount of time being open. That’s just how life works. It doesn’t mean that the house is filthy or whatever.

And also, even extremely nice, clean homes can have infestations of multiple varieties. Sometimes it’s just a matter of where your house is located and what creatures live there.

NeNe did not appreciate Brielle’s video. At all.

She blasted Brielle Biermann in a public manner, telling her what to do with her appearance and calling her racist (a claim that NeNe has also made many times against Kim Zolciak).

Part of NeNe’s message was especially creepy and gross:

“We don’t have roaches! If you found 1, u brought it with u or it fell outta ur funky pussy!”

YIKES.

So Kim Zolciak apparently decided that enough was enough.

TMZ reports that the Don’t Be Tardy star hired an attorney at a high-powered law firm and is threatening to sue NeNe Leakes for millions if she doesn’t apologize to Kim and to her daughter.

Specifically, NeNe needs to apologize for calling them racist.

NeNe has made numerous comments on social media along these lines.

“Kim & her child did something very wrong & disgusting! Black people and roaches in the same sentence don’t work for me boo.”

(People of all races get bugs in their homes, NeNe)

NeNe has also said: “Kim & her daughter oops whole family are racists!”

In her rant against Brielle, NeNe included the tags “#racisttrash” and “#KKK.”

A lot of people in this world are racist and might not even realize it, though NeNe doesn’t seem eager to provide examples of racism (and also seems fine with Kim when they’re getting along).

But the “KKK” line is either the worst use of hyperbole that we’ve seen in a while or a serious accusation that deserves either evidence for why she thinks that the Zolciak-Biermann women are in a racist terrorist organization or a very solemn apology.

Again, there are countless instances of real-world racism. It gets people killed and it makes them feel like outsiders in their own communities.

For NeNe to throw around the word at Kim because they don’t get along, which is what appears to be happening, is unconscionable.

And if NeNe truly believes that they’re racists, she should present to the world whatever it is that makes her think that.

This is all right on the heels of NeNe Leakes wishing her heckler would get raped and then later issuing a less-than-perfect apology for it.

Yes she was sorry, but she should not have said that in the first place.

We know that NeNe has become famous for being such a reality television firebrand and saying whatever pops into her head, but even she needs to learn to filter or she’ll be doing a lot more apologizing in the future.

Or, if not apologizing, she just might end up paying for it — literally.
