Demi Lovato: Fires More Staff, Shudders Website Amidst Relapse Drama
It’s been three weeks since the world learned that Demi Lovato relapsed after six years of sobriety, and it seems the recovery process has been a long and difficult one for the troubled pop songstress.
To her credit, it wasn’t the tabloids that publicized her latest struggles with substance abuse but Demi herself.
In June, she released the song “Sober,” which detailed her fall from the wagon with heartbreaking and surprisingly personal lyrics.
Unfortunately, the release of the song did not signal the start of Demi’s long road back to sobriety, as many had hoped.
Instead, those who know her best say Lovato is still drinking and has no immediate plans to get clean.
“Demi has gone off the rails,” a source tells Radar Online.
Equally troubling is the fact that the singer has reportedly been severing ties with those who wish to help her.
Demi fired her manager earlier this week, and it seems she’s ended her relationship with several other staffers in the days that followed.
“She’s completely dropped her family members, friends and everyone in the sober community, including all of the people at CAST [Demi’s former recovery program],” the source claimed.
“And now she is cutting off her staff who have worked with her forever.”
As Radar reports, Lovato also shut down her website earlier this week.
The site is now back up and running, but the hiatus left many with the impression that Demi is badly in need of some time away from the spotlight.
The fact that Lovato is cashing in on her relapse by actively promoting “Sober” on her social media pages has led some to label her a hypocrite:
“She is making money off her relapse,” says the insider.
“But she is a walking contradiction, because she is does not have a game plan to get clean right now.”
Friends and family already staged an informal intervention, but sadly, it seems their concerns fell on deaf ears.
“[They] suggested to her that she should get some help and go to rehab,” the source claims.
Clearly, Demi didn’t heed that advice.
On social media, Lovato has been the subject of a massive outpouring of concern, but unlike in years past, she seems to have little interest in communicating directly with fans.
Here’s hoping she’s able to find the help she needs before it’s too late.

Steve Harvey to Talk Show Staff: STAY AWAY FROM ME!
Steve Harvey will be moving his surprisingly popular talk show to Los Angeles this fall.
But this doesn’t mean sunny skies are ahead for all who work on the program, at least not when they encounter their boss anywhere near the set.
A memo sent from Harvey to his employees surfaced online yesterday via Robert Feder’s Chicago media blog – and it doesn’t exactly paint the host in a positive light.
It actually makes Harvey sound like more of a diva than Mariah Carey.
Among the requests he makes of his staff members?
- Do not come to my dressing room unless invited.
- Do not approach me while I’m in the makeup chair unless I ask to speak with you directly.
- Do not wait in the hallway to speak to me… make an appointment.
Sources tell Variety that this memo was sent to Harvey’s staff in Chicago prior to the start of the fifth season of his former daytime program, “Steve Harvey,” which ran for five seasons in national syndication.
Beginning in a few months, the revamped series will tape in Los Angeles at Harvey’s request, with a brand new crew.
Insider also say the messages may have been leaked by an ex- staff member, who was bitter about being let go.
Harvey is a busy and annoying man.
He also hosts Family Feud and Little Big Shots, along with a number of random pageants and awards show.
The comedian emceed something called the State Farm Neighborhood Awards late last year, for example.
He got in trouble earlier this year for slamming Asian men as ugly, while he made headlines in 2015 for announcing the wrong winner of the Miss Universe pageant.
But that debacle (which you can watch below) may have helped Harvey’s career.
He was asked to host the same pageant in 2016 and has gone viral with a few jokes about it since.
Here is a look, meanwhile, at the entirety of the memo Harvey sent to his employees:
Good morning, everyone. Welcome back.
I’d like you all to review and adhere to the following notes and rules for Season 5 of my talk show. There will be no meetings in my dressing room. No stopping by or popping in. NO ONE.
Do not come to my dressing room unless invited.
Do not open my dressing room door. IF YOU OPEN MY DOOR, EXPECT TO BE REMOVED. My security team will stop everyone from standing at my door who have the intent to see or speak to me.
I want all the ambushing to stop now. That includes TV staff. You must schedule an appointment.
I have been taken advantage of by my lenient policy in the past. This ends now. NO MORE.
Do not approach me while I’m in the makeup chair unless I ask to speak with you directly. Either knock or use the doorbell. I am seeking more free time for me throughout the day.
Do not wait in any hallway to speak to me. I hate being ambushed. Please make an appointment.
I promise you I will not entertain you in the hallway, and do not attempt to walk with me. If you’re reading this, yes, I mean you.
Everyone, do not take offense to the new way of doing business. It is for the good of my personal life and enjoyment.
Thank you all, Steve Harvey.
It is for the good of his personal life and enjoyment?
Sounds to us like Harvey basically wants to be left alone in his dressing room to engage in sexual intercourse with anyone he wants.
But that’s just our opinion.

United Airlines CEO to Staff: Way to Beat That Guy Up!
With the entire Internet and most of the free world aghast and appalled by the actions of United Airlines on Sunday, CEO Oscar Munoz has sent an email to employees assuring him he’s on their side.
What about the doctor who was violently removed from a Louisville-bound flight this weekend despite sitting in a seat he had legally paid for?
Pishaw! He totally deserved his bloody fate!
That’s basically what Munoz told his staff in a message that was obtained by TMZ and other prominent outlets.
As a quick refresher:
On Sunday evening, United boarded all passengers in Chicago for a flight bound for Kentucky.
However, four United employees needed to be included on the plane in order to get to their subsequent posts in Louisville.
In response to this overbooking, United offered passengers $ 800 to change their plans and get on a later flight. When no one volunteers, the airline randomly selected four individuals to leave the plane.
A 69-year old doctor was among these individuals.
When he refused to get up from his seat (reportedly due to patients he had to get home and see), members of the Chicago Police Department were called in.
Then THIS happened:
Reaction to the shocking incident has been swift.
The above video, which was filmed by a fellow passenger, has been viewed over 200 million times in China alone.
Many residents of that nation believe the doctor was singled out because of his ethnicity and they are calling for a boycott of United Airlines.
Munoz didn’t help his company’s cause at all when he issued the following, tone deaf statement in response to what amounts to assault of a passenger:
“This is an upsetting event to all of us here at United,” Munoz wrote.
“I apologize for having to re-accommodate these customers.
“Our team is moving with the sense of urgency to work with the authorities and conduct our own detailed review of what happened.
“We are also reaching out to this passenger to talk directly to him and further address and resolve the situation.”
Yes, he really did use the phrase re-accommodate for what transpired here.
So this brings us back to the email Munoz sent to his employees.
“While I deeply regret this situation arose, I also emphatically stand behind all of you, and I want to commend you for continuing to go above and beyond to ensure we fly right,” the executive actually said, adding:
“As you will read, this situation was unfortunately compounded when one of the passengers we politely asked to deplane refused and it become necessary to contact Chicago Aviation Security Officers to help.”
In this memo to employees (below), Munoz describes the doctor as “disruptive and belligerent.”
After he was dragged limp from the plane, the man – blood streaming from his mouth – reentered and ran down the aisle, repeatedly saying, “I have to go home, I have to go home.”
He was clearly confused and disoriented; maybe because he just got assaulted for simply being a passenger on a plane that had been oversold.
With reference to that disturbing scene, Munoz wrote that the man in question “continued to resist – running back onto the aircraft in defiance of both our crew and security officials.”
It’s worth noting a few things here:
- The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) disagrees with Munoz. In a statement of its own, the CDA says the incident “was not in accordance with our standard operating procedure and the actions of the aviation security officer are obviously not condoned by the Department.”
- United made $ 2.3 billion in profit last year. At the very least, they could have increased the compensation amount from $ 800 to a figure where actual volunteers would have emerged.
- United also denied flight entry to a 10-year old girl in leggings last month.
We’ll continue to update this story as more news breaks.
In the meantime, we’ll continue to hope this beaten-down passenger is okay and we’ll continue to assert that United’s skies are anything but friendly.
