Steve Carell: Did He Announce a Reboot of The Office on Saturday Night Live?!
It"s been over five years since the last episode of The Office aired …
You still miss it, don"t you?
It was just such a fun, funny, delightful little show, and so very many people loved it so very much.
And since we"re in a time right now when many beloved shows are getting reboots — Roseanne, Murphy Brown, the new Sabrina series on Netflix, just to name a few — fans have been clamoring for a reboot of The Office, too.
There have been rumors about this for a while now, and even a few somewhat promising reports.
We"ve heard that a reboot could happen with just a few of the old cast members and some new characters.
But, over the years, Steve Carell, the man behind the World"s Best Boss, Michael Scott, has maintained that it wouldn"t be a great idea.
He"s also made it pretty clear that if it did happen, he most likely wouldn"t be involved.
Well, Steve hosted Saturday Night Live last night … and he may have changed his tune!
After he kicked off his opening monologue, an audience member interrupted him to ask if he"d ever reboot the show.
"No, actually, I don"t think so," he answered. "It was a great experience, I love all those people, but I just don"t think it"s the best idea, I think maybe we should just leave it alone."
Then Kenan Thompson popped up in the audience to tell him that no, it would be the best idea.
"It would be like someone wanted you to reboot Kenan and Kel," Steve argued.
Kenan told him that it "would be an honor" if that happened — so seriously, can that happen?
But then Ellie Kemper stood up.
Ellie Kemper who played that adorable, goofy receptionist, Erin, in later seasons.
"People would really love to see an Office reboot," she told him. "Especially me. I need that money. Let"s get that money, Steve!"
He still refused, so she called him a jerk and sat back down.
So it was Ed Helms" turn.
Ed Helms has gone on to star in tons and tons of movies, but many people still know him as Andy Bernard, that good ol" Cornell graduate who loves singing and has anger management issues.
"I just don"t think you understand how much money we"re talking about," he said to Steve. "Like, you wouldn"t have to do all those sad movies anymore."
(Steve is hosting SNL because he has a new movie, Beautiful Boy, coming out in which he plays a father with a drug addict son.)
He explained that he doesn"t do those movies for money, and so it was time to pull out the big guns:
Jenna Fischer, AKA Pam Beasley-Halpert.
"Steve, do you remember the last words Pam secretly whispered to Michael as she left for Denver?" she asked, referencing a fan-favorite moment.
When he said he didn"t, she told him "She said, "Steve, don"t be a dick, do the reboot.""
Finally, Steve"s actual wife and kids urged him to do it … so was what enough?!
"Seems like everyone wants this to happen," Steve said to the audience. "Do you want to see an Office reboot?"
Everyone cheered, because honestly, everyone does want to see that.
He asked Ellie, Ed, and Jenna to come up on the stage with him, then said "I am proud to announce officially …"
"We have a great show tonight!"
Yep, he really did play us like that.
Obviously there"s still no reboot in the works, but hey, maybe this was them sort of testing the waters, trying to see if people would want to watch?
We can dream.

Saturday Night Live Slammed for "Racist" Aer Lingus Skit
Aer Lingus sounds a lot like a certain sex act.
This was the initial premise of a sketch on Saturday Night Live that closed out a November 2017 episode hosted by actress Saoirse Ronan.
It featured the young star as a flight attendant named Colleen, wearing a green uniform, rocking a bouffant bob hairstyle… and making jokes about Irish stereotypes such as potatoes and dogs.
Watch the sketch below and then check out the strong reaction on Twitter…

Eminem SLAMMED for Saturday Night Live Performance!
It"s official: Eminem is back!
Well, it"s not like he was ever officially gone — though it"s been four years since he released his last album, he"s recorded a few songs here and there.
But right now he"s preparing for the release of his latest album, Revival. We don"t know exactly when the album will drop, but this month he shared the first single, "Walk on Water."
To promote the album, he performed the single on this week"s episode of Saturday Night Live, and while Beyonce wasn"t there — she sings on the album track — his longtime collaborator Skylar Grey was.
And since he had a lady singer there with him, he took the opportunity to perform two of his old hits along with his new one — after "Walk on Water," they did bits from "Stan" and "Love the Way You Lie."
Considering all that, it should have been amazing, right?
Eminem fans should have lost their collective mind.
But unfortunately, that"s just not what happened.
People were ruthless in their reactions to his performance, and, as always, they took to Twitter to express their displeasure.
"I would rather listen to the woman on the piano sing a dozen songs than try to understand what Eminem is saying for one rap," one person wrote.
Another said that "As a USED to be fan I checked in to see what was up….. #stfu #wtf was this [poop emoji] #pathetic attempt. Just retire into the trailer park you"re #nothing anymore."
One person tweeted directly to Eminem, telling him that he is "a washed up hack" and "no one wants to see someone"s dad who can barely grow a beard mumble some "rhymes" on SNL."
In perhaps the most harsh criticism of them all, one person even wrote "I"m not sure Rihanna could have saved that performance as good as she is."
Even some of his diehard fans were willing to admit that perhaps the performance wasn"t his best — one of them tweeted "So what @Eminem didn"t have his best performance on #SNL? He"s still a G.O.A.T."

Larry David: SLAMMED for Doing Holocaust Jokes on Saturday Night Live!
So last night, Larry David hosted Saturday Night Live.
It should have been a wonderful opportunity for some solid Bernie Sanders sketches, and he did do a Bernie impersonation at one point, but that’s not what people are talking about.
Nope, instead people are focusing on his opening monologue.
Specifically the segment during the monologue in which he made a few Holocaust jokes.
He kicks off the bit by saying that he’s “always been obsessed with women,” and “I’ve often wondered, if I’d grown up in Poland when Hitler came to power and was sent to a concentration camp, would I still be checking out women in the camp?”
The audience started laughing nervously, and he answered his own question with “I think I would.”
“The problem is,” he continued, “there are no good opening lines in a concentration camp.”
“How’s it going?” he asked an imaginary women in this wacky scenario. “They treating you OK? You know, if we ever get out of here, I’d love to take you out for some latkes. You like latkes?”
When the line didn’t land — for the audience, too, but mostly for that imaginary lady — he said “What, what’d I say? Is it me, or is it the whole thing?”
From there, Larry wrapped up the monologue and went into the typical “We got a great show tonight …” SNL thing.
But, thanks to the internet, that certainly would not be the last we heard of those jokes.
“I’m not a Jew,” one person tweeted, “but I’m low-key offended by Larry David’s holocaust jokes on #SNL. Not cool.”
“I can’t believe they did jokes about a concentration camp I just can’t believe what I just saw it will never be okay to do,” another wrote.
Some people used a popular hashtag, #ReallyMakesMeCringe, to express their feelings about the monologue, for example “#ReallyMakesMeCringe when we have people denying the holocaust & Larry David opens the door for them to think it’s fine to joke about.”
There were a lot of photos shared of actual women in concentration camps to really drive home the point that the joke was offensive.
“Comedy does NOT mean everything can be funny,” someone stated. “Always wrong to joke about the Holocaust, even if you’re Jewish.”
Which is another thing — Larry is Jewish himself, so many people believe that he had the right to make those jokes.
“Don’t get why non-Jews think their opinions matter on whether or not Larry David is allowed to reference the holocaust in his jokes,” one such person tweeted.
Another explained that “If anyone is upset with Larry David’s holocaust jokes on SNL they are likely not Jewish. Comedy can help people deal with tragedy.”
So was he offensive, or does he have the right to make jokes like this?
Does anyone have the right to make jokes like this?
Sound off in the comments!

Kate McKinnon Does Pennywise in HILARIOUS Saturday Night Live Clip: Watch!
Saturday Night Live gave us such an incredible gift last night.
Well, honestly every single episode of Saturday Night Live is a gift, as long as Kate McKinnon is in the cast. Because seriously, how perfect is that woman?
From her incredible Hillary Clinton impersonation to her turn as Kellyanne Conway, literally everything she does is just magic.
But this skit she starred in last night?
It"s beyond wonderful.
The skit begins with Alex Moffat as Anderson Cooper at CNN headquarters, and he discusses the possibility of having Kellyanne Conway on his show.
"Are we that desperate?" he asks before he heads out for the night — famous last words.
As he leaves the building, he pulls on a yellow raincoat and grabs a newspaper, and if you feel like this is turning into the opening scene from It, you"re right.
But instead of seeing Pennywise in the sewer, Anderson meets Kellywise … Kellyanne in clown makeup.
It sounds a little ridiculous, sure, but Kate McKinnon manages to pull it off.
In It, we saw Pennywise the Clown peek out from the sewer at little Georgie, asking him repeatedly if he wants his paper boat back.
But here, Kellywise asks Anderson if he wants a quote, because the poor girl just wants to be on TV again.
Finally, Anderson is lured in by Kellywise pretending to be Hillary Clinton, and (spoiler alert!) she grows those crazy clown teeth and bites off his arm, just like in the movie.
And if you wanted to see Kate do another iconic scene from It, perhaps, say, that darling little Pennywise dance?
Let"s just say you won"t be disappointed.

Katy Perry Performs Taylor Swift Diss Track on Saturday Night Live: Watch!
Katy Perry sure knows how to get people talking.
Earlier this week, she dropped a brand new song from her upcoming album called "Swish Swish." The song features the talents of Nicki Minaj, and it"s … well, it"s OK.
But nobody"s talking about the quality of the song or its guest performers — everyone"s talking about the possible subject of the song.
Because "Swish Swish" is almost certainly about none other than Taylor Swift.
The lyrics seem to reference Katy"s legendary feud with Taylor, and even when directly asked, Katy hasn"t denied that the song is about her.
Ruby Rose, one of Taylor"s key squad members, took the time to absolutely tear Katy apart soon after its release.
It"s all very scandalous, and Katy brought that scandal with her when she performed the song last night on Saturday Night Live.
And it sure was a show.
We analyzed it to see if there were any references to Taylor, and if there were, we missed them.
But to be fair, it"s hard to understand anything about what"s happening in this performance.
Katy sings the song to the best of her ability — with no Nicki, it does drag a little — while surrounded by many, many people.
There are drag queens, dancers, a guy in a skeleton suit, and one very enthusiastic boy with a backpack who moves his arms really fast.
And while all these shenanigans are going on around her, Katy is just as serious as can be. Because it doesn"t get more serious than "swish, swish, bish."

Melissa McCarthy Hosts Saturday Night Live: Watch Sean Spicer Make Out with Donald Trump!
Melissa McCarthy is just the best. Really, just an amazingly funny, top-notch human being.
We"ve seen it in interviews, we"ve seen it in her movies, and most recently we"ve been seeing it in her appearances on Saturday Night Live.
For the past few months now, Melissa has been making guest appearances on Satuday Night Live to do her incredible impersonation of Sean Spicer, White House press secretary.
But last night, she hosted the show. And that means that her Spicer skit was out of this world.
At the beginning of the skit, Sarah Huckabee Sanders is filling in for Spicer while he — wait for it — hides in the bushes outside.
It"s already beautiful.
He"s asked questions about the Comey firing and the Russia investigation, which, as you can imagine, he doesn"t handle with much patience.
"Let me just put this whole Russian thing to bed, once and for all," he finally yells. "Trump is innocent. How do we know? Because he told us so. Period."
It"s easy to forget that this is satire, isn"t it?
Finally, reporters ask Spicer about rumors that Trump plans on firing him and hiring Sarah in his place. And poor Spicey … he doesn"t handle it well.
And that"s how we came to have footage of Melissa McCarthy dressed as Sean Spicer, roaming the streets of New York City on the White House podium, looking for Trump.
When the president is finally found at a golf course in New Jersey, the conversation gets heated fast.
Spicer says that he doesn"t think he can do the job anymore, and Trump tries to convince him to stay, finally asking him to kiss him.
"I can"t," Spicer objects, "I have a wife, I took vows."
But Trump — good ol" Trump — tells him "I"m famous, it"s OK."
And so Melissa as Spicer and Alec Baldwin as Trump make out. Hard.
Watch it all go down in the clip below:

Melissa McCarthy Returns to Saturday Night Live as Sean Spicer: Watch!
Melissa McCarthy is a pretty big star, with countless opportunities to do big movies, high-paying TV gigs … but still, she manages to find time every once in a while to stop by Saturday Night Live.
For the past couple of months, Melissa has been coming on the show to do just the loveliest impression of White House press secretary Sean Spicer.
And this week, considering the mess that the real Sean Spicer got himself into, we were extra glad to see her.
In case you missed it, Spicer has made some questionable comments about Hitler — about how he never used chemical weapons like Syria.
He also referred to concentration camps as "Holocaust centers." Yes, for real.
His statements were obviously horrible and wrong and really just inexcusable, but we"re glad Melissa was able to make light of them.
And in an Easter bunny costume, no less!
In the skit, Spicer makes a statement to apologize for the Hitler comments.
"Everybody shut up so I can apologize," he screams. "Yes, you all got your wish this week, didn"t you, huh? Spicy finally made a mistake."
As for the "Holocaust centers" statement, Spicer says that "duh," he knows that"s not what they"re really called. They"re called concentration clubs!
After clearing the air about the his earlier speech, he tries to make things right by telling the story of Passover, and … well, it doesn"t go well.
Watch Melissa be smiply amazing in the clip below:

Kendall Jenner Pepsi Ad: ROASTED by Saturday Night Live!
It"s been a rough week for Kendall Jenner.
And for Pepsi. And for people who like commercials that aren"t literally the dumbest thing they"ve ever seen.
On Tuesday, Pepsi debuted their brand new ad: the idea was that a bunch of people of all sorts of walks of life come together for a peaceful protest. Kendall Jenner is nearby modeling, and decides to get involved.
Just when it looks like the police might be ready to take action, Kendall hands an officer a Pepsi. Everyone cheers, because the Pepsi has saved them all.
It"s utterly ridiculous, and it"s hard to believe that it got made in the first place.
But thank goodness it did, because last night, Saturday Night Live took it on in just the most delightful skit.
In the skit, the director of the commercial takes a phone call from his sister, and describes the premise to her. And it does not go well.
She tells him it"s "sorta tone-deaf," so he talks to her husband instead, who tells him that he"s just using people from different races to sell soda.
He then asks his sister put a neighbor on the phone, "a black one." He only gets as far as saying the commercial is "an homage to the Black Lives Matter movement" when she tells him not to even touch it.
There"s even a special appearance from Kendall Jenner, telling one of her sisters how "cute" the ad is going to be.
Oh, you guys …
Check out the skit in the video below:
Alec Baldwin Returns to Saturday Night Live; Destroys Donald Trump
It"s been just about a month since Alec Baldwin came to Saturday Night Live to do his lovely Donald Trump impression.
And, in case you missed it, a lot of things have happened with Trump in the past month.
He bombed Syria, for one, but he also had that massive Trumpcare disaster. Throw in the constant rumors that Melania refuses to move to the White House with him and a bunch of general discontent …
Things haven"t been going too great for ol" Donnie.
And so in this skit, Baldwin"s Trump did just want the real Trump does — he met with his supporters so he can feel good about himself.
Stopping at a little gathering down in Kentucky, Trump gave a short speech about all the "good" things he"s been doing lately.
"The media is saying nice things and no one is talking about Russia," he said. "Wow, what a difference just 59 Tomahawk missiles can make."
Yikes.
Trump was asked questions about new jobs, healthcare, the federal rehab program, afterschool programs, and his answer to all the problems!
To just get rid of all of it, of course! And through pain and anger and tears, the people still told him "You"re my president!"
"See, that"s why I came here," Trump said, "you people stand by me no matter what. It"s like you found a finger in your chili, but you still eat the chili because you told everyone how much you love chili. It"s tremendous."

Scarlett Johansson Channels Ivanka Trump on Saturday Night Live: Watch!
Scarlett Johansson isn"t having the greatest time in life right now — she"s just filed for divorce from her husband, Romain Dauriac, and it looks like there"s going to be quite the custody battle for their three-year-old daughter.
But even though Scarlett may be going through an inner struggle, she"s still a professional.
And right now, that means that she was still able to absolutely kill it as the host for Saturday Night Live last night.
For one of her skits, she did a little perfume ad.
But not only that … she did a perfume ad as Ivanka Trump.
"Every man knows her name," the voiceover for the ad begins. "Every woman knows her face. When she walks into a room, all eyes are on her."
"She"s Ivanka."
Cue Scarlett"s pouty-lipped, vacant-eyed impression of Ivanka. And it only gets better from there.
The perfume, as it turns out, is called Complicit. Amazing, right?
"A feminist," the voiceover continues. "An advocate. A champion for women, like … huh?"
"She"s loyal, devoted, but probably should have bounced after the whole Access Hollywood bus thing. Oh well."
"Complicit," the ad finishes. "The fragrance for the woman who could stop all of this, but won"t."
Let Scarlett make you cry with tears of laughter (and just regular tears) in the video below:
Saturday Night Live: Alec Baldwin Does Trump in the Alien Apocalypse!
Let"s be real with ourselves for a minute: if anyone could bring on an actual apocalypse, like an honest to goodness, for real apocalypse, it would be Donald Trump, right?
His amount of power plus his amount of ignorance … it"s just not that hard to imagine.
And, according to this glorious skit Saturday Night Live aired last night, it could happen sooner than we think.
Yes, Alec Baldwin brought his half-hilarious, half-terrifying Trump impression back to SNL last night, and instead of poking fun at something ridiculous the president has already done, they looked to the future.
One year into the future, specifically, which is when they predict "aliens from the planet Zorblatt 9" will land on earth and kill us all.
An Army troop is gathered, determined to save the human race from the aliens, who are quickly destroying the world. But before they begin their mission, Trump has some words to share.
He rambles for a moment — so true to real life, right? — and someone asks him what they should do. Trump"s response?
"We are going to bring coal back."
Is it funny or tragic? Then again, isn"t that always the question?
Baldwin"s Trump throws in an Arnold Schwarzenegger jab, a reference to "fake news," and he even manages to work in a racist joke!
Check out the possible future of our country in the video below:

Saturday Night Live Takes on Jeff Sessions Scandal: Watch!
OK, so Kate McKinnon is easily one of the best parts of Saturday Night Live these days, right?
And Kate McKinnon as Jeff Sessions, as we saw last month, is just brilliant.
So Kate McKinnon as Jeff Sessions as Forrest Gump?
Yeah, it"s pretty much guaranteed to blow your mind.
In last night"s cold open, Kate put on that spectacular costume, sat at a bus stop, and told Jeff Sessions" story to a series of strangers.
"I"m the Attorney General of the whole United States," SNL"s Jeff said at one point, his mouth stuffed full of chocolates.
And it really only gets better from there.
Where Forrest Gump had Jenny, Jeff has Kellyanne, his "best good friend." He pulls out the now-infamous picture of Kellyanne Conway kneeling on the Oval Office couch, saying "She ain"t got no legs."
"I always say life is like a box of chocolates," he says, taking another of Forrest Gump"s catchphrases. "Sure are a whole lot of brown ones in there!"
Well, that last part isn"t exactly how it went in Forrest Gump, but it"s fitting for the character of Jeff Sessions, right?
Jeff also talked about that little scandal he found himself in a few days ago, the one where it turned out that he may have committed perjury during his confirmation hearing by lying about meeting with a Russian ambassador during Trump"s campaign.
At one point, Putin himself even showed up.
Watch the glorious, glorious skit below:

Saturday Night Live Takes on Sean Spicer and Jeff Sessions in Hilarious Opening!
These are dark times, friends, and there"s no denying that.
But while these are dark times — maybe even the darkest, who knows? — we also have quite a few rays of light to carry us through.
One of those rays is Saturday Night Live and the brilliant work they"ve been doing with mocking and belittling the complete and utter mess that is the U.S. government these days.
And last night, they really went for it.
For the opening, Melissa McCarthy did her amazing impression of Sean Spicer, Donald Trump"s press secretary.
She was loud, unnecessarily aggressive, obnoxious — just like the real Sean Spicer!
Another highlight of the skit was Kate McKinnon"s simply incredible impression of Jeff Sessions, who sadly didn"t make it too long into his speech before he started getting racist, so he had to leave.
The whole thing is even more delightful when you remember that last week, we heard a report that Trump didn"t appreciate Melissa"s version of Spicer because "Trump doesn"t like his people to look weak."
And he looked weak, naturally, because he was played by a woman.
So with Melissa coming back as Spicer, plus Kate"s debut as Jeff Sessions, the White House crew must not be too happy right now.
Keep up the good fight, SNL.
Watch the hilarious video below:
