Scarlett Johansson: Did She "Audition" to Date Tom Cruise?!
We haven’t heard much from Tom Cruise lately, and it’s anyone’s guess as to why that might be.
The safest bet is that he’s just keeping a low profile because it’s not a great time to be a Hollywood power player with a reputation for domineering behavior and problematic sexual proclivities.
Of course, there’s always the possibility that he’s been traveling the universe, protecting Earth from intergalactic invaders, the ascoted ghost of L. Ron Hubbard his co-pilot.
Either the way, Suri isn’t the only one who rarely sees Tom these days.
Cruise’s devotion to Scientology has always been one of the weirder aspects of his very weird personal life.
But Cruise’s relationship with the opposite sex is just as bizarre and unsettling as his relationship with the alien overlords who condemned us thetan-infested mortals to lifetimes of penance in this godforsaken solar system.
And when Tom’s religion meets Tom’s sex life, the collision results in some seriously strange and often very troubling behavior.
Take for example, Cruise’s habit of “auditioning” potential girlfriends in order to decide if they’re worthy of dating him.
These sex try-outs are allegedly orchestrated by Scientoloigist leaders such as David Miscavige.
They were brought to light by a Scientology defector named Cathy Schenkelberg, who revealed details of the creepy-ass process in an intervierw with The Daily Mail:
“I didn’t know I was being auditioned, so I was being asked on camera: ‘Where are you from? What level are you on?’ Then, ‘What do you think of Tom Cruise?"” Schenkelberg told the outlet.
“I was like, ‘Huh, I thought this was a training video.’ When I left the room, there was another actress outside and she asked: ‘How did you do?’ I said: ‘What do you mean?’
“She said: ‘Well, that’s an audition to be Tom Cruise’s girlfriend,’ and I said: ‘I don’t think I got the gig."”
Yes, there was a freaking line of Scientologist actresses waiting to audition for the “role” of Tom Cruise’s girlfriend.
But it’s not just young up-and-comers who are put through the process:
Sources say Katie Holmes had to audition before top Scientologist brass would grant her permission to breed with their golden boy, and Penelope Cruz was reportedly subjected to a similar process.
Recently, it was rumored that Scarlett Johansson once found herself sight-reading lines like, “Yes, Tom, 5’4″ is totallt average height.,”
But the actress has now vehementkly denied those claims in a statement issued to The Hollywood Reporter.
“The very idea of any person auditioning to be in a relationship is so demeaning. I refuse for anyone to spread the idea that I lack the integrity to choose my own relationships. Only a man aka Brendan Tighe would come up with a crazy story like that,”
Tighe is a former security guard for Cruise who made the allegation during an interview on Megyn Kelly Today this week.
“Another actress, Erika Christensen, had to disconnect from Scarlett Johansson because it didn’t go well. That was in that report,” Tighe told Kelly.
The Church of Scientology has also issued a statement denying Tighe’s claim.
“Brendan Tighe was a Church of Scientology Flag Service Organization security guard/night watchman from 2002 to 2009,” says spokesperson Karin Pouw.
“The ‘access’ he boasts of having was largely limited to viewing security cameras from a guard booth. He was removed from that position for dereliction of duty.”
These days, Johansson is dating Colin Jost of SNL fame.
As for Cruise, well — he’s keeping mum as usual. We think.
It’s possible he’s evolved to a form of communication that cannot yet be understood by humans, like those aliens in Arrival.

Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost: Dating!
The 42nd season of Saturday Night Live came to an end this week, and for the first time in quite a long time, the show will be widely missed during its summer hiatus.
Of course, that’s almost entirely due to Alec Baldwin’s Trump impression and Melissa McCarthy’s Sean Spicer, as the show’s non-political sketches remained wildly uneven.
(We’re sure to incur the wrath of the entire Internet for saying this, but when David S. Pumpkins provided the season’s most quotable bit, you know you didn’t exactly knock it out of the park.)
But as is usually the case with SNL, there were just enough highlights to keep us tuning in week after week:
Kate McKinnon remains as sharp as ever.
Leslie Jones’ mock romance with Kyle Mooney was a running gag that never wore out its welcome.
And of course, Colin Jost and Michael Che’s Weekend Update provided some of television’s most genuinely LOL-worthy takes on the apocalyptic three-ring circus that is the Trump administration.
And it seems one of this season’s most high-profile hosts was duly impressed by the incisive commentary and easy raport of the segment’s dual anchors:
As you may have heard, Scarlett Johannson is newly single following her divorce from Romain Dauriac.
Or perhaps we should say she was newly single, as Radar Online reports that ScarJo has been smitten with Jost ever since she hosted SNL earlier this season.
The site reports that when Johansson stopped by the show to briefly reprise her role as Ivanka Trump she and Jost were inseparable throughout much of the night.
“ScarJo hung out in Colin’s dressing room all show [on Saturday],” an insider close to the show tells Radar.
“They went to the after party together.”
The source says Jost and Johansson made no effort to hide the fact that they’re romantically involved.
“It wasn’t like they showed up separately and met for the first time,” the insider added.
“She was after him and all over him. He was star struck.”
Interestingly, it seems Johansson was the one who pursued Jost:
“She’s the one pushing for it,” says the source.
“They met when she hosted the show months ago and have been talking ever since.”
Another source close to the show confirmed the rumors to Page Six:
“Scarlett and Colin were making out at the bar at the ‘SNL’ season finale party at 30 Rock … They would make out a bit, then go back to talking,” says the source.
There you have it, kids.

Scarlett Johansson Channels Ivanka Trump on Saturday Night Live: Watch!
Scarlett Johansson isn"t having the greatest time in life right now — she"s just filed for divorce from her husband, Romain Dauriac, and it looks like there"s going to be quite the custody battle for their three-year-old daughter.
But even though Scarlett may be going through an inner struggle, she"s still a professional.
And right now, that means that she was still able to absolutely kill it as the host for Saturday Night Live last night.
For one of her skits, she did a little perfume ad.
But not only that … she did a perfume ad as Ivanka Trump.
"Every man knows her name," the voiceover for the ad begins. "Every woman knows her face. When she walks into a room, all eyes are on her."
"She"s Ivanka."
Cue Scarlett"s pouty-lipped, vacant-eyed impression of Ivanka. And it only gets better from there.
The perfume, as it turns out, is called Complicit. Amazing, right?
"A feminist," the voiceover continues. "An advocate. A champion for women, like … huh?"
"She"s loyal, devoted, but probably should have bounced after the whole Access Hollywood bus thing. Oh well."
"Complicit," the ad finishes. "The fragrance for the woman who could stop all of this, but won"t."

Romain Dauriac to Scarlett Johansson: Please Don’t Divorce Me!
Romain Dauriac isn’t taking “No” for an answer.
He isn’t even taking “No, Seriously, I Don’t Want to Stay Married to You and Really Think We Ought to Go Our Separate Ways for the Rest of Our Lives” as an answer.
After announcing their separation in January, Johansson took the break-up a legal step further this week by filing for divorce.
In a statement provided to Us Weekly and other outlets, the beautiful actress acknowledged this decision by saying the following:
“As a devoted mother and private person and with complete awareness that my daughter will one day be old enough to read the news about herself, I would only like to say that I will never, ever be commenting on the dissolution of my marriage.
“Out of respect for my desires as a parent and out of respect for all working moms, it is with kindness that I ask other parties involved and the media to do the same.
“Thank you.”
It all sounds very reasonable, just like the statements made by many celebrities before Johansson who filed for divorce.
But Dauriac has responded in an unexpected way.
As part of her filing, Johansson is asking a judge to give her primary custody of the ex-couple’s three-year-old daughter, Rose Dorothy Dauriac.
She was born shortly after the pair got married in 2014.
Dauriac, however, has asked the actress to withdraw her divorce petition, citing the little girl as his basis for wanting to work things out.
“It is indeed unfortunate, especially for our daughter, that Scarlett filed in court and made our personal differences so public,” Dauriac’s statement in response reads.
“I would implore her to withdraw her action promptly and to go back, as uncomfortable as it might be, to the negotiating table.
“We are the parents of a lovely daughter whom we will continue to co-parent for many years and share her joys and sorrows as only a parent can.”
Dauriac’s attorney tells People Magazine the two were engaged in private negotiations when Johansson filed her papers.
“We were shocked that they filed these proceedings in court,” he tells People, adding:
“We had been negotiating information relevant to their child Rose and also economic issues, so we were stunned when they did this. We’ve told [Johansson and her lawyers] that we would go to any means to try to avoid this.”
This is an unusual back-and-forth that does seem to be more centered on the future of little Rose; not on Dauriac simply wanting to stay married to one of the best looking women on the planet.
The divorce papers were served on Tuesday afternoon and an insider tells People that Johansson didn’t mean to start an all-out war.
“Under the law in NYC, the filing of an action for divorce is merely procedural,” this insider says.
“No request for a judge was requested. While her lawyer did request that Scarlett get residential custody, again, for procedural purposes, they preserved all rights she had if they didn’t resolve the case. It wasn’t a secret that the parties were separated. So filing for divorce is no big deal.
“This is not a hostile act by Scarlett.”

Scarlett Johansson: Monogamy Is Unnatural!
Scarlett Johansson has every right to have mixed emotions on monogamy.
It was revealed earlier this year that she and Romain Dauriac had parted ways after almost three years of marriage.
This was a surprise to some because of the way Scarlett previously spoke out about the importance of her husband being on a different career path than her.
That was around the time Scarlett shaded her ex-husband, Ryan Reynolds about his insecurities.
Now, with two marriages in the can, Scarlett has some words about monogamy, and she does not think it comes naturally.
The actress opened up about her thoughts to Playboy in an interview that was seemingly conducted before her most recent split.
“Well, with every gain there’s a loss, right? So that’s a loss. You have to choose a path. I think the idea of marriage is very romantic; it’s a beautiful idea, and the practice of it can be a very beautiful thing,” the actress says.
“I don’t think it’s natural to be a monogamous person. I might be skewered for that, but I think it’s work. It’s a lot of work.”
As you are probably aware, celebrities tend to be placed under the highest scrutiny whenever they make controversial comments.
“And the fact that it is such work for so many people—for everyone—the fact of that proves that it is not a natural thing,” Johansson continues.
“It’s something I have a lot of respect for and have participated in, but I think it definitely goes against some instinct to look beyond.”
The star even went as far as saying that marriages are not entirely about the couple initially. Instead, she thinks there are a lot of people involved that should not be.
“I think marriage initially involves a lot of people who have nothing to do with your relationship, because it’s a legally binding contract, and that has a weight to it. Being married is different than not being married, and anybody who tells you that it’s the same is lying.”
“It changes things. I have friends who were together for 10 years and then decided to get married, and I’ll ask them on their wedding day or right after if it’s different, and it always is. It is,” says Johansson.
“It’s a beautiful responsibility, but it’s a responsibility.”
The famous actress went as far as saying that things were different after she married Dauriac in 2014.
“I had a really young baby at the time, so that also—our family dynamic was just different. I don’t know. Whatever that is, the thing you can’t fully put words to, it changed,” she says.
Understandably, some of that change came from Dauriac living in another country.
“I had a baby, and also my husband was coming from another country and becoming a citizen of this country,” Johansson recalls.
“It was a huge transition for both of us, and certainly for him—moving here, committing to the States. But I think my husband has embraced America, and New York in particular, in this really endearing way…”
With the Johansson and Dauriac living in two different countries and splitting their time, Johansson was quick to reveal who was the driving force behind their decision.
“My job takes me all over the place, so I don’t even know where I live,” she admitted.
“I guess now we’re kind of committed to living here because with our daughter we have to commit to someplace. She’ll be in school in a hot minute. The time passes like crazy.”
There had been a lot of speculation about Scarlett’s previous relationships, but she was quick to reveal that she was not dating in her earlier years.
“I would never want to be in my early 20s again, though I did a lot of fun stuff. I wish I knew that everything changes and that nothing is forever—except death,” she says.
“It probably would’ve freed up a lot of space in my brain.”
“I was listening to this TED Talk about relationships, and the person who was giving the talk was saying that in moments when you’re starting a new relationship and your friends and family say, ‘No, this is a red flag. This person is not for you.’ Why do we ignore those people who know us so well in the moments that we don’t?”
“And then we distance ourselves from them because we’re embarrassed or whatever. It’s interesting how sometimes all you need is your good friend to tell you that you’re not acting like yourself,” the Ghost in the Shell actress explains.
“Or that they see something in front of you that is not beneficial for you or true to who you actually are. “I don’t know,” Johansson admits. “It’s so easy to just go, ‘No, I don’t want to hear that."”
While Scarlett was unsure about romantic love, she was very sure about maternal love.
“Just the process of being pregnant and giving birth was incredibly profound,” she says.
“Also surrendering to the fact that with babies, and particularly infants and toddlers, you have to let go of your expectations and of whatever instincts you have to take control of the situation.”
“Of course, being a mother, you have to make decisions all the time that affect this person who is completely dependent on you, but you also have to surrender to the experience, and that in itself is really liberating. For me, it’s the best thing that has ever happened. Ever.”

Scarlett Johansson and Romain Dauriac: It"s Over!
After four years together and more than two years of marriage, Scarlett Johansson and Romain Dauriac have called it quits.
Reps for Johansson confirmed the separation to People magazine in a statement released today.
Though their divorce is not yet finalized, Johansson and Dauriac have reportedly been living in separate homes for the past several months, and sources neither party is holding out hope for a reconciliation.
Johansson and Dauriac married in a small private ceremony in 2014 and managed to keep the union a secret for several weeks.
Johansson had given birth to the couple’s first and only child, Rose Dorothy, just a few months prior.
Insiders say the decision to separate was mutual and that Scarlett and Romain will remain friends and business partners.
The former couple co-founded a gourmet popcorn brand, and they will reportedly both remain active in its day-to-day operations.
Aside from their joint involvement in one of the most random celebrity business ventures of all time, little is known about Johansson and Dauriac’s time together.
He’s a French journalist; the two of them met two years after her divorce from Ryan Reynolds, and she says she fell for his intellect instantaneously.
Johansson has spoken at length about how much she enjoys the domestic life, but her comments usually take the form of praise for her daughter:
“When [Rose] came out of me I was so surprised,” she recently told .
“I had a very strong picture in my mind of what my baby would look like, and, of course, she is completely different. Perfect, but not what I’d imagined.”
Johansson and Dauriac were last photographed together in December, but it is believed they were already separated at that time.
Johansson appeared at the Women’s March on Washington on Saturday, where she spoke of her experiences with Planned Parenthood, and appealed to President Trump.
Neither party has publicly confirmed the separation yet.
Insiders say they did have a pre-nup, and the split has been amicable thus far.
They’ve reportedly made co-parenting their top priority, and it is believed that they will evenly spkit physical custody of young Rose.

Scarlett Johansson Named Highest Grossing Actress in History, But Still Disappointed
Scarlett Johansson just scored a major milestone in her career, but the achievement is bittersweet.
The actress was recently named the highest grossing actress in history by Box Office Mojo.
However, the Avengers star was the only woman to come in the top 10, and she finds the lack of her female peers on the list “disappointing.”
“It’s exciting to be the only woman in the category,” Johansson told Extra.
“It is kind of disappointing, actually, to be the only woman in this category. That was a little bit of a surprise to me,” she explained.
Even more surprising is that only one other woman, Cameron Diaz, made the top 20 on the list.
Earlier this month, Johansson spoke to Cosmopolitan about the gender pay gap in Hollywood.
“There’s something icky about me having that conversation unless it applies to a greater whole,” she said.
“I am very fortunate, I make a really good living, and I’m proud to be an actress who’s making as much as many of my male peers at this stage…
“I think every woman has [been underpaid], but unless I’m addressing it as a larger problem, for me to talk about my own personal experience with it feels a little obnoxious.
“It’s part of a larger conversation about feminism in general.”
Johansson joins a number of celebrities, including Patricia Arquette, Meryl Streep and Jennifer Lawrence who have expressed chagrin at the Hollywood double standard when it comes to salary.
Coming in at number one on the Box Office Mojo list is Harrison Ford, followed by Samuel L. Jackson and Morgan Freeman.
