Matt Brown, Alaskan Bush People Star, Checks Into Rehab
Matt Brown has taken the first step in his hopeful path to recovery.
The Alaskan Bush People star has admitted he needs help.
Speaking to People Magazine, the Discovery Channel personality says he is checking into rehab for the second time in order to receive assistance for a dependency on alcohol.
“I struggle with substance abuse, and after a year of ups and downs, I decided to return to treatment,” the oldest Brown son tells the publication in this week’s issue.
He adds:
“I’m really grateful for everyone’s support and hope to have my life back on track soon.”
The reality star first entered a treatment facility of this nature in the spring of 2016.
What made him realize that he had to try again and that he had to turn his life around?
“I could see myself spiraling,” Brown explains, acknowledging that he had been spending more and more time drinking over the previous year.
“I was more withdrawn. I was slower. Things didn’t excite me the way they used to.”
On a recent episode of Alaskan Bush People, Matt got injured while helping to build the family’s new residence.
Overall, meanwhile, the Browns have been through a whole lot over the past two years; most notably, of course, the loved ones have been dealing with matriarch Ami’s very serious lung cancer diagnosis.
It was believeed for awhile that Ami would not survive the Stage 4 illness, but she remains a major part of the series and of the family.
Due to her need for medical care, however, the Browns have left Alaska and settled in rural Washington.
Now, they’ll be without Matt for an unspecified period of time.
(It’s unclear at the moment just where Matt will receive treatment and for how long he will be there.)
“It’s hard not having one of my babies here with us,” says Ami, who is now cancer-free, yet has been informed she should undergo tests every three months for the rest of her life.
“He was so strong for me, and I want to be strong for him,” she adds to People.
“We miss him terribly, but we’d rather lose him from home for a little while than lose him forever,” dad Billy says.
“We just want him to do what he needs to do to get better.”

Demi Lovato: Getting Back Together With Wilmer Valderrama While In Rehab?!
It’s been nearly two months since Demi Lovato suffered an overdose that nearly claimed her life.
After spending more than a week recovering in a Los Angeles hospital, Lovato headed straight to rehab, where she’s been devoting herself to the hard work of getting sober ever since.
Fortunately, Demi enjoys the support of a vast network of family, friends, and fans who are committed to assisting her in any way they can.
And it seems one special person in the singer’s life has really been going the extra mile to ensure that she knows she’s not alone during this dark and difficult time.
Despite the fact that Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama broke up back in 2016, the pair have remained close as friends, and it seems Demi has been leaning heavily on her ex in recent weeks.
According to TMZ, Demi recently transferred to a different rehab facility.
Her whereabouts are being kept under wraps, but sources have confirmed that she relocated in part so that she could be closer to Valderrama.
The actor has been spotted visiting Demi at the facility several times, and witnesses claim that the two of them have visited a nearby Starbucks together several times.
The facility reportedly has an “open door” policy, and patients are permitted to come and go as they please.
In fact, going for walks and frequenting local businesses is said to be encouraged, as the treatment center is a long-term facility that seeks to help residents transition back into everyday life.
Sources close to the facility say that it features a group-based recovery program, a claim that seems to be confirmed by the fact that Demi has been spotted at Starbucks with large groups of fellow patients.
As for the question of her relationship with Wilmer, sources claim the exes are nothing more than platonic friends, but fans have their doubts.
There have long been rumors that Demi is still in love with Wilmer, and the fact that he appears to have put his life on hold in order to assist with her recovery has been interpreted by many as a signal that the two of them are romantically involved.

Ben Affleck: Staying In Rehab Is For Poor People
Wealth and fame can certainly help to insulate you from the many perils and pitfalls of life, but no one among is completely immune to suffering.
Not even the mighty Batfleck, who’s currently learning the hard lesson that kicking an addiction ain’t easy, even if you’re super rich.
As you may have heard, Ben Affleck checked into rehab for the third time last month.
And this was no mere sobriety tune-up either.
The decision to seek treatment came on the heels of an epic bender and an intervention staged by Jennifer Garner.
You know the situation is bad when your estranged wife you seems to want nothing to do with you feels the need to swoop in and save your life.
Anyone who’s seen the photos of an exasperated Jen driving Ben to rehab (after a quick stop at Jack In the Box, of course) knows that this is not a woman who was enjoying the view from atop her high horse.
She acted on behalf of her children because she really thought their dad might die.
Anyway, you might assume that under such dire circumstances, Ben would treat his recovery as a matter of life and death and devote all of his energy to the hard work of getting sober.
Sadly, you would be wrong.
You may have heard the many reports about Ben leaving rehab.
And you may have been confused by the subsequent reports about Ben returning to rehab.
You’re right to be baffled, as no one has ever done rehab like this in the history of rehab.
As it turns out Ben leaves the facility several times a week in order to work out at his home gym.
He then heads back to the treatment center in time for lights out.
It’s worth noting that during his time at home Ben is usually visited by Shauna Sexton, his 22-year-old Playboy model girlfriend.
Gosh, we hope those visits don’t cut into his workout time.
This is a man who needs regular physical activity!
The extent to which Ben is half-assing what was supposed to be a life-saving rehab stint is so ridiculous that it’s hard to believe.
But folks, this is no mere tabloid gossip — earlier today, Ben’s reps essentially confirmed that he spends the lion’s share of his “treatment” time just chillin’ out at home.
“He has a specialized program to suit his needs — meetings, working out, reading, therapy,” a source close to Affleck tells People magazine.
“Everyone’s journey with addiction and treatment is different and built for the individual. [Affleck’s] is a good mix of mental and physical work. This is what was outlined by his doctors and team
“He recently put in a gym at his home and is most comfortable there,” adds the insider.
“Ben continues to work hard on himself and is committed to his rehab program, which includes a daily routine of multiple meetings and indoor and outdoor exercise”
Folks, Ben hasn’t been this thoroughly coated in BS since the last time he put on the Bat Suit.
(That joke sounded a lot better in our heads.)
Ben’s team wants us to believe that his doctors really think it’s a great idea for him to head home every afternoon so he can “work out” with his girlfriend.
Funny, we thought patients in rehab were generally encouraged to, ya know … stay in rehab.
We kid, but this has gotta be seriously discouraging for the many people who are relying on Ben to get and stay sober.
We wish him the best of luck … but we can’t help being a bit skeptical.

Luann de Lesseps Slams Dorinda Medley"s Claim About Rehab Stay!
At the reunion special for The Real Housewives of New York City, a number of the stars aired what they claimed was the "truth" about the countess — Luann de Lesseps.
Now, Luann is getting the chance to respond to those accusations and to set the record straight.
As you"ll see in this video, she"s starting with Dorinda, who claimed that Luann entered rehab just to stay out of jail.
At the reunion special, Luann was absent — and therefore, she was not there to defend herself.
Dorinda Medley jumped at the chance to gossip behind Luann"s back.
"Luann didn"t go to rehab because she had some huge revelation," Dorinda claimed to Andy and the entire audience.
She went to rehab because she needed to stay out of jail," Dorinda accused.
"And," Dorinda threw in. "it was practically court-ordered."
On Watch What Happens Live, Andy Cohen asked Luann how she would like to respond.
"I was not court-ordered to go to rehab," Luann begins.
She has a lot more ignorance to clear up.
"I went on my own recognizance, first of all," Luann says.
"So," Luann summarizes. "Dorinda doesn"t know anything about me."
That much is very obvious.
Luann makes it clear why she chose to enter rehab.
"I went because I felt that I needed to go and take care of myself," Luann explains.
"And," she continues. "I take it very seriously."
That has been very clear, for months.
"It"s 51 days today, by the way," Luann tells the audience. The audience applauds.
Good for Luann! Sobriety can be difficult, even for celebrities. This is especially true for stars who use alcohol as a coping mechanism for stress.
Luann then responds to a claim that Ramona Singer made at the reunion, that she had been "out of it" at the Beacon following rehab.
"Ramona, look at me, with those eyes," Luann says. "I was never at the Beacon this summer so that is a total lie."
"And at Chris Birch"s party," Luann continues. "I was not kicked out, Ramona."
Luann adds: "So you"ve got to stop making stuff up to make yourself look better, Ramona."
As a final jab, Luann tells Ramona: "It"s not going to happen."
The video closes on Jerry O"Connell doing his best impression of Ramona Singer.
But the real takeaway is that Dorinda made a real butt of herself in front of fans with claims that she absolutely cannot substantiate.
If Luann did enter rehab with the intention of avoiding prison time, it was a two birds, one stone scenario — because she"s clearly serious about her sobriety.
In the mean time, Dorinda is just leveling accusations based upon what might as well be spectral evidence. The fans know that, and they"re not loving it.
Some even commented that Dorinda seemed fun when she first joined the series, but now she appears to be toxic.
We get it — they"re Real Housewives. Feuding, gossiping, and assuming the worst go with the territory. But attacking someone"s sobriety seems like a low blow.
Shauna Sexton Actually Visits Ben Affleck in Rehab
All across the Internet these days, there are cries of concern over Ben Affleck.
That’s what happens when you sadly enter rehab for a third time.
But if you listen closely enough, there’s another sound starting to make its way around the Web.
Or at least the possibility of a sound.
By which we mean the following:
Might wedding bells be ringing down the line for Shauna Sexton and Ben Affleck?!?
This is not anything we could have imagined writing back when the actor started dating the Playmate this summer. It seemed at the time like the epitome of a fling.
Mere weeks after talk of the romance spread throughout the globe, Affleck entered rehab because it had become clear that he fell hard off the wagon while partying with Sexton.
But… well… Sexton is still around.
She and Affleck may be about more than bumping proverbial uglies after all.
Last week, we reported that Affleck actually left his treatment center for a brief period of time in order to hang out with Sexton.
And now comes the news that Sexton paid Affleck a visit in rehab on Sunday morning.
The 22-year-old was spotted leaving the Malibu treatment facility at which Affleck has been staying at for the last three weeks, according to People Magazine and other outlets.
She was even driving Affleck’s Ford SVU at the time.
This seems like a big deal for two reasons:
FIRST, because a man does not just lend a woman his wheels unless things are very serious.
SECOND, because this means Affleck is letting Sexton see him at his most vulnerable… and that she wants to see him at his most vulnerable.
The previous assumption had been that she was just sticking around for the booze and the wealth and the Hollywood lifestyle. But here she remains. Still around.
Sexton recently clapped back at a fan on Instagram who accused her of getting Affleck “thrown in rehab.”
She made it clear that she isn’t about to take misguided flak from a bunch of strangers.
“Never drank around or with him for the record,” Sexton wrote in a number of responses in the comments section of a photo of her drinking red wine, adding:
I love to drink and party! Absolutely dude. Most 22 year olds do…
“Do these mistakes mean I would disrespect someone’s hard-earned sobriety by drinking with them or in front of them? Hell no. I have limitless respect for those who take action and actually do something about it.
“With that being said, Ben is a grown ass man, baby. He makes his own decisions. Blaming a 22-year-old for someone’s 3rd time in rehab is just ridiculous.
“He is human. I am human.”

Ben Affleck Returns to Rehab Following Visit With Playboy Model Girlfriend
As you’ve likely heard by now, Ben Affleck checked into rehab last month following an intervention from his estranged wife, Jennifer Garner.
What you may not have heard, however, is that the Oscar winner lasted just two weeks in treatment before retreating to the comfort of his Batfleck Cave and his 22-year-old girlfriend.
Yes, Affleck left rehab yesterday and was spotted being driven to his Pacific Palisades home looking disheveled and out of sorts.
Shortly after his arrival, Ben’s rumored girlfriend Shauna Sexton paid him a visit.
At first, there was an outpouring of concern on social media, as it was widely assumed that Ben had decided to bail on his treatment program several weeks ahead of schedule.
Fortunately, several media outlets have reported today that Ben has returned to rehab after spending just a few hours at home.
Reps for the actor claim he made the trip simply so that he could utilize his home gym.
Of course, since Shauna stopped by during Ben’s brief furlough, we’re guessing his workout session wasn’t limited to free weights.
So the good news is, Ben returned to treatment after stopping by the crib to keep his bat-body in fighting form.
The bad news is, those who know him best are deeply concerned about his casual attitude toward recovery and his continued association with Shauna.
“He had stayed in touch with Shauna the entire time he was in rehab and the people at the facility and friends had huge concerns about it because she isn’t sober,” a source tells E! News.
“She is a huge, red flag to everyone that is trying to support Ben with his process. Shauna is giving him false confidence and that is their biggest concern.”
During Ben’s brief visit home, the insider claimed that Jen was so angry that she considered paying her ex another unannounced visit.
“Jen knows he is back at the house with Shauna and she is so painfully frustrated,” the source stated at the time.
She held off, however, ultimately realizing that Ben must be the author of his own recovery:
“She knows he has to do this for himself,” the informant claims.
While Jen may be taking a more hands-off approach at this point, she’s well aware of just how high the stakes are:
“It has been an intensive challenge but he had no choice,” the source says.
“For Ben this was a life-and-death situation. It was very dire and that is the main reason Jen had no choice but to get involved.”
Unfortunately, despite realizing the severity of the situation, Affleck has been choosy about what sort of advice he’ll accept from the professionals assisting with his treatment:
“He believes he is strong enough to venture outside the facility with sober coaches,” says the source.
Here’s hoping Ben is able to accept the help he needs before it’s too late.

Shauna Sexton: You Think I Sent Ben Affleck to Rehab?!?
Yes, Shauna Sexton makes a living by taking off her clothes.
But the Playboy model is not about to take it from misguided and very mean critics.
No way and no how, people.
Sexton rose to mainstream fame a few weeks ago after it came out that she was spending time with Affleck.
Almost immediately after the actor split from long-time girlfriend Lindsay Shookus, paparazzi snapped pictures of him out and about with Sexton.
And then almost immediately after that, Affleck checked into a rehab facility for the third time.
Putting two and two together and jumping to a really dumb conclusion, some folks out there blamed Sextion for Affleck’s troubles.
They figured Affleck would have remained clean and sober if not for Sexton’s bad influence, which is obviously absurd.
But plenty of people out there are absurd, especially when given the chance to write things to strangers on the Internet.
Which brings us to the photo above.
In response to a follower on Instagram who accused her of getting Affleck “thrown in rehab,” Sexton clapped right on back.
And she did so with force.
“I love to drink and party! Absolutely dude. Most 22 year olds do. Yes you’re correct,” she wrote to a hater, acknowleding a couple run-ins with the law and adding:
“I got put in the drunk tank when I was 17 for having a fake ID and drinking underage at a bar in Virginia Beach, and despite the fact most people have used a fake ID as well as drank underage, it was a dumb mistake on my behalf and an embarrassing one at that.
“Then the weekend of my 21st birthday I got obliterated and wound up getting left at a bar at the ocean front in Virginia Beach.. where I was again taken to the drunk tank for being intoxicated publicly ..while attempting to find a ride home.”
She continued:
“Do these mistakes define me? No, stupid minuscule shit I learned from. Do these mistakes mean that I am human? Yes. Do these mistakes mean i would disrespect someone’s hard earned sobriety by drinking with them or in front of them? Hell no.
“I have limitless respect people who have the humility and maturity to admit when they need to fix something in their life. I have even more respect for those who take action and actually do something about it.”
And when it comes to Affleck in particular?
“With that being said, Ben is a grown ass man, baby. He makes his own decisions. Blaming a 22 year old for someone’s 3rd time in rehab is just ridiculous.
“He is human. I am human. You are human. We all are going to fuck up it’s just a matter of learning from it. Don’t be so quick to throw shade on people. Take a step back, accept that we are all on our own journey, and be a little less critical.”
BOOM. ROASTED.
What a perfect response.
Affleck admitted himself to a treatment facility back on August 22.
In the days that followed, multiple reports gave credit to ex-wife Jennifer Garner for swooping in, staging a mini intervention and convincing Affleck that he needed professional assistance.
For someone who has a disease, this clearly would have been the case at some point whether or not he ever met Sexton.
Insiders have said Affleck tumbled off the wagon awhile back and recognized fairly quickly that he was in trouble.
It’s unclear at the moment just when Affleck will emerge from rehab, but we hope he’s a healthier man when he does so.

Demi Lovato: Losing Control of Her Life While in Rehab?!
It’s been over a month since Demi Lovato suffered a heroin overdose that nearly claimed her life.
During that time, the singer has been proactive about seeking the sort of treatment that might prevent her from coming so close to tragedy a second time.
These days, Lovato is in rehab, and sources say she’s fully devoted to the hard work of recovery.
Not only has Demi checked herself into an in-patient treatment facility in Arizona, she’s also been making regular trips to Chicago to meet with the team of therapists who helped her to get sober for the first time, six years ago.
Of course, in some respects, it’s easier for someone in Demi’s position to put everything on hold in order to focus on self-care.
After all, most addicts don’t have the luxury of taking months off work and checking into a pricey rehab center.
But in other ways, Lovato’s battle with substance abuse is complicated by her wealth and fame.
Sources close to the pop star say all the touring and performing made it easier for her to fall back in with the wrong crowd, and it was reportedly one of Demi’s backup dancers who provided her with the drugs on which she overdosed.
Now that Demi is taking a break from presiding over a one-woman media empire in order to focus on herself, she has to trust that the people she’s hired will uphold their responsibilities in her absence.
And sadly, it seems she may have placed her trust in the wrong people.
“Her bodyguards have taken over her house,” a neighbor of Demi’s told Radar Online this week.
“They’re the same two men who are with her around-the-clock when she’s home,” the source adds.
“They have been living at her house since she was hospitalized.
The insider says not only do the men appear to be treating the property as their own, they’ve also invited multiple female guests to join the party.
“They’re there and so are two women who are possibly their girlfriends or wives,” the source adds.
“Demi must really trust them because these two men have taken over her house completely and haven’t left since she was hospitalized.”
Unfortunately, it seems there’s little that can be done about the situation, as Demi placed her trust in her bodyguards, and no one wants to alarm her with reports of their behavior.
Here’s hoping the guys don’t do too much damage to the place.

Ben Affleck: Sad Details of His Final Days Before Rehab Revealed
It’s been almost a full week since Ben Affleck checked into rehab following an intervention by his estranged wife Jennifer Garner, but new details are still emerging about the state of affairs that led the Oscar winner to seek help.
Sources close to Affleck revealed today that he had reached a new rock bottom in the days before he decided to accept treatment.
“Ben had been drinking alone for days,” a source tells People magazine.
“He was in bad shape. He had barely been eating and had not showered. It didn’t take much convincing. He wanted to go, and he cooperated.”
The insider claims that despite reports of Ben Affleck drinking heavily with Lindsay Shookus during their relationship, the SNL producer was actually a good influence and a stabilizing force in Ben’s life.
Apparently, it was only after Affleck and Shookus broke up that a distraught Ben went back to the bottle.
“He’s battled addiction for a long time now,” says the source, noting that Ben had been “constantly working on himself” but suffered a debilitating relapse after he and Lindsay parted ways.
The insider claims that after the breakup last month, Ben “went into a darker and darker place until he had to reach out for help.”
“When it was good it was really really good. When they were in the same time zone and not focused on other things it was good,” the source says of the tumultuous relationship.
“It became incredibly complicated with their families, with their jobs.”
“He really liked her. He loved that she was smart, funny, opinionated,” the tipster adds.
“When they were together it brought him a bit outside of his comfort zone. She brought a bit of fresh air into his life that he needed.”
After the breakup, Affleck became involved with Shauna Sexton, a 22-year-old Playboy model with a well-known penchant for partying.
It seems it was then that Garner decided to take action and intervened.
With the help of a professional sobriety coach, Garner arrived at her ex’s house unannounced.
While sources claim Affleck was drunk and belligerent throughout the intervention, he eventually agreed to seek treatment.
Jen was so intent on ensuring that he stayed true to his word that she drove him to the facility herself.
There’s no way of knowing how Ben has fared in the week since he first checked in, but those closest to the situation say he checked in with every intention of getting sober for the sake of his children.

Mel B to Enter Rehab for Sex, Alcohol Addiction
Mel B may typically be in the news these days for judging acts on America’s Got Talent, but the former Spice Girl is now making headlines for admitting to something personal.
The singer has got a very big problem.
She actually has two very big problems, according to an interview Brown gave to The Sun over the weekend.
Citing an “incredibly difficult” past six months, Brown says she is seeking professional treatment for alcohol addiction and sex addiction.
“I’ve been working with a writer on my book, Brutally Honest, and it has been unbelievably traumatic reliving an emotionally abusive relationship and confronting so many massive issues in my life,” Brown told the British publication, adding:
“I am being very honest about drinking to numb my pain but that is just a way a lot of people mask what is really going on.”
Added the 43-year old:
“Sometimes it is too hard to cope with all the emotions I feel. But the problem has never been about sex or alcohol – it is underneath all that.
“I am fully aware I have been at a crisis point. No one knows myself better than I do, but I am dealing with it.”
Back in April of 2017, things for very heated and very ugly between Brown and ex-husband Stephen Belafonte.
The artist and NBC personality accused Belafonte at the time of abusing her physically and emotionally, while forcing her to have threesomes … and then blackmailing her by threatening to release secret tapes he had made of these encounters.
Brown even shared photos (such as the one below) of bruises she said she received a result of being punched and shoved by her husband.
Mel allegedly told friends at the time that she was afraid to go public with these allegations for awhile because she feared Belafonte would have her murdered.
According to a friend who spoke to The Sun, Brown responded to this trauma by becoming “sex-crazed” and even slept with three men in one day at one point.
She was looking for affection and comfort wherever she could find it.
But Brown now acknowledges she has serious personal demons and issues and will check into a rehab facility in England to deal with them.
“I am still struggling, but if I can shine a light on the issue of pain, PTSD and the things men and women do to mask it, I will,” Brown tells the newspaper, adding:
“I am speaking about this because this is a huge issue for so many people.”
In November of, 2017 the exes reached a private settlement and, in exchange for doing so, Brown withdrew her domestic violence restraining order against Belafonte.
In addition to her statement, Mel B tweeted “Knowledge is power” on Sunday, along with a link to a website detailing PTSD.
She also retweeted a post from her mother, Andrea Brown, mentioning Mel’s decision to enter rehab.
This is what it says:
I’m so proud of my daughter. She has the courage to face her demons head on and deal with them.
I know what hell she has been through and I know what trauma she has suffered and still suffers.
Do not judge because so many people have PTSD and try and numb the pain any way they can.
I am proud of her honesty and I am proud my daughter speaks out on a subject that affects so many people.
Ben Affleck Finalizes Divorce From Jennifer Garner ... From Rehab
As you’ve likely heard by now, Ben Affleck is back in rehab to receive further treatment for the alcohol addiction that’s plagued him throughout his adult life.
Interestingly, the decision to seek further help was prompted by Ben’s estranged wife, Jennifer Garner, who staged an intervention with the help of a professional sobriety coach.
Though Ben is set to remain in treatment for at least the next 30 days, major developments have taken place in his life in the meantime.
E! News is reporting today that Affleck and Garner have finally finalized their divorce more than two years after they separated.
The timing, of course, is no coincidence.
Jen has been hoping to work out a mutually amicable custody agreement for years.
She held off on taking Ben to court until she felt he could be trusted to properly care for his kids.
Yes, Jen put her kids’ relationship with their dad above whatever selfish impulses she may have felt.
Despite allegations that Affleck cheated on her and was generally not the greatest partner, Jen knew that if she went nuclear, it would mean essentially taking her kids away from their father.
And so, even when Ben wasn’t willing to put work into his sobriety, Jen was.
It’s official folks — no one is allowed to make a joke at Jennifer Garner’s expense ever again, no matter how many cheesy crossover Capital One ads she stars in alongside Captain Obvious from Hotels.com.
As for Ben’s treatment, there’s no way of knowing how he’s progressed during the notoriously difficult first week, but those who know the actor best say that he checked in with every intention of getting sober.
“Ben was doing well for the last few months and very committed to his sobriety,” said one source when discussing Affleck’s latest relapse.
“But recently he started to slip up and began drinking again.”
The source revealed that Ben’s fall from the wagon was the result of many things, including an influx of downtime and his recent breakup with Lindsay Shookus.
But the biggest factor was Ben’s relationship with Shauna Sexton, a 22-year-old Playboy model with a penchant for hard partying.
“He wrapped his movie and had some downtime,” the source claimed.
“This week, he was heavily drinking alone at home and with the Playboy model.”
We wish Ben all the best with his treatment — and we applaud Jen for her commitment to her kids’ happiness.
