Ami Brown: Honored by Children on a Birthday They Feared She"d Never See

Considering how serious Ami Brown"s cancer battle was at times, there were many who feared that the Alaskan Bush People matriarch would not see this year"s birthday.

But August 28 has come and gone, and Ami is now 55 yeras old.

Rain and Bear joined forces on Instagram to give their mother a series of birthday tributes, as you can see in the video below.

On Rain"s Instagram, she and her brother, Bear, give Ami a shout-out on this very special birthday.

"Just want to say happy birthday to mom," Bear says while arm-in-arm with Rain.

"Seriously," Bear says. "It’s awesome to still have our mother around, quite frankly."

Rain chimes in, saying: "Amazing."

Rain then says "Happy birthday, mom!" and Bear echoes the sentiment.

That"s all very sweet, but Rain also wrote up a message of her own.

"Dear mommy," Rain writes. "Happy birthday to the greatest woman I know!!!"

We know that Rain is going to turn 16 in a few months, but ti"s sweet that she still calls her mother "mommy."

"You inspire me beyond compare," Rain continues. "If I turn out to be anything like you my life would have purpose."

"You listen to me even when I’m having an anxiety attack over the dumbest things," Rain says. "You comfort me just by being in the room."

We should note that Rain has spoken about her mental health before, and also that anxiety attacks are like allergies — it seeming "dumb" doesn"t make it so.

"You mean absolutely the world to me," Rain"s sweet birthday tribute message to her mom continues. "And I would be lost without you."

Rain writes: "it’s been an amazing honor to not only know a legend such as you but to call her mommy."

"I can’t wait until we’re both super old ladies together," Rain imagines. "Sipping tea with the grandkids."

"Happy birthday mommy," Rain concludes. "I love you more than the world."

Rain isn"t the only one who wanted to put her affection for her mom in writing.

In addition to the video that we"ve included, Bear also wrote his own message.

"Today was my Moms birthday!!" he writes with his characteristic lack of chill. "I have no words to describe how I feel to still have my Mom!"

A lot of people use exclamation marks on social media to show that they are being friendly in tone. Bear just seems enthusiastic.

"She’s always been there for me! My whole life!" Bear writes. "And I’ve been trying my hardest to be there for her!"

"Thank you everybody!!" Bear says in a shout-out to fans. "All the fans and family’s!! All the production crews we’ve worked with!! Everybody at discovery!"

"Life is too short not to enjoy every moment!!" Bear writes.

That is a very on-brand sentiment for him.

But Bear makes sure to remind people that Ami"s birthday is, of course, all about Ami.

"Happy birthday to the strongest and best mother ever!!!"

Bear concludes: "I will never give up and I will never surrender!!"

Dennis Shields: Final Words Shed Light on His Tragic Death

Just a week ago, Dennis Shields was found dead in his Trump Tower apartment.

Though the ex-boyfriend of Betheny Frankel’s cause of death has yet to be officially declared in an autopsy report, we now know his final words.

And his final statement may shed a lot of light on what preceded his unfortunate passing.

TMZ reports that Dennis Shields was able to speak a few words to EMTs who arrived and attempted to save his life.

Sources say that, in those final moments, he told paramedics and police that he had taken his prescribed oxycodone and Vicodin and a sleeping pill.

His intention, he revealed at the time, was to address the pain from his back injury.

Though his assistant had already administered Narcan before emergency responders arrived, everyone’s best efforts were unable to save him.

That combo of drugs turned out to be tragically lethal.

As TMZ notes, that combination of drugs can be dangerous and even potentially deadly.

Doctors and other medical experts strongly advise against mixing opioids with sleeping pills or any type of sedative.

Taking these medications in what are individually safe amounts can become unsafe, due to interactions between the powerful medications.

Had this been a simple overdose of oxycodone, perhaps the three doses of Narcan — two from his assistant and one from EMTs — that Shields received would have been able to save him.

This is so heartbreaking.

TMZ‘s law enforcement sources report that they did find prescription pill bottles scattered throughout his house.

They did not find any ilicit substances or drug paraphernalia which might be associated with them.

If you are overdosing or experiencing another medical crisis, it is always adviseable to be honest with the people who are trying to save your life.

The “pill bottles scattered everywhere” image might seem suspicious for some, but it’s not uncommon for folks to accidentally hold on to their empty prescription bottles.

(They may cling to them as a reference, or forget that they have them, or decide that they want to remove the label for privacy before recycling them)

Earlier this week, The Real Housewives of New York City star and Skinnygirl mogul Bethenny Frankel broke her silence on Shields’ death.

Though they were not dating at the time of his passing, they have had an on-again, off-again relationship for ages.

Bethenny is mourning his passing. At his funeral, she broke down in tears.

On Instagram, she shared a throwback photo of him and her late dog, Cookie, back-to-back.

Both Shields and Cookie have since passed.

“Rest In Peace,” Bethenny captioned the image. “My sweet babies who gave me endless unconditional love.”

It is important to stress that the medical examiner’s office has yet to announce an official cause of death for Dennis Shields.

It is always possible that the dangerous combination of drugs that he took in a desperate attempt to quell his back pain were not the cause, or not the sole cause.

The medical examiner is likely waiting for the results of a toxicology report. Those can take time, especially when investigators are checking for every possibility.

We hope that Shields’ loved ones, including his four children, can find peace and closure after this tragic loss.

Liza Koshy and David Dobrik Break Up, Shed All the Tears

They rose to fame on YouTube.

They expressed their love and affection for each other on YouTube.

So it"s only appropriate that Liza Koshy and David Dobrik have now broken up on YouTube as well.

In a six-minute video that featured a few attempts at humor and a great number of tears being shed, the Internet stars talked openly about the end of their romance.

(Which actually took place six months ago, but which they only chose to share with their fans now.)

Based on the footage below, it sounds as if Koshy is the one who chose to split from Dobrik, as she acknowledged she"s been going through a "rough" patch in life.

“Liza broke up with me because she felt like we’ve been distant because we’ve been so busy,” Dobrik said, adding;

“As much as I hate to admit it, I was feeling it on my side too, but I just don’t have the balls to pull the trigger on that.”

Koshy rose to prominence online by posting comedy videos on Vine in 2013, prior to going on to become a huge YouTube star on her two YouTube channels, as well as a television presenter and actor.

Dobrik, meanwhile, took a similar path to fame via Vine and YouTube, where he also has two channels.

Between the two of them, Koshy and Dobrik have more than 20 million followers. Yes… 20 MILLION!

They started dating back in 2015.

Together as a couple, Liza and David let fans in on their funny adventures comedic bits/skits, helping Web users feel as if they really knew the pair well.

Hence the viral sadness that has accompanied this split.

"This is going to sound so lame but I really want to spread love but I have to have it first," Koshy says at one point.

"It’s like saying you’re going to spread mayonnaise when you only have mustard."

For the duration of the video, the stars tried to keep things light, but they kept breaking down once reality set in.

“All jokes aside,” Dobrik said. "We are broken up.”

Jennifer Lawrence Told to Get Naked, Shed 15 Pounds for Role

Jennifer Lawrence did not get personally assaulted or harassed by Harvey Weinstein.

But that doesn’t mean the actress can’t relate to those who allegedly and unfortunately did undergo this horrible experience.

As has been well documented over the past several days, Weinstein is accused of paying off eight women over the years in exchange for their silence over his sexual misconduct.

But countless others have spoken out and claimed the movie producer either treated them inappropriately or even raped them.

The sordid situation has is made even worse by the apparent fact that many Hollywood insiders (from actors… to directors… to writers…) were well aware of Weinstein’s behavior.

They just chose to ignore it.

In response to the ongoing situation, actresses are admirably sharing their own stories of abuse.

Reese Witherspoon, for example, says she was assaulted by a director at the age of 16.

America Ferrera says she was assaulted by a much older man at the age of 9.

And Lawrence detailed an example of the pressures young actresses face in the industry while speaking last night at an Elle’s Women in Hollywood event.

“When I was much younger and starting out, I was told by producers of a film to lose 15 pounds in two weeks,” Lawrence said, prior to revealing something even more heinous about the audition.

“During this time a female producer had me do a nude line-up with about five women who were much, much, thinner than me. We are stood side-by-side with only tape on covering our privates…

“After that degrading and humiliating line-up, the female producer told me I should use the naked photos of myself as inspiration for my diet.”

Yes, this really happened.

And we’re sure many other female stars have similar stories.

Lawrence went on to say she tried to stand up for herself, telling another producer she thought the weight loss demands were not appropriate.

“He said he didn’t know why everyone thought I was so fat, he thought I was ‘perfectly f-ckable.”

This is what the person told Lawrence in her defense.

Lawrence did not identity the people involved.

But she said she felt “trapped” by the ordeal.

“I let myself get treated a certain way because I felt like I had to for my career,” she continued.

“I was young and walking that fine line of sticking up for myself without being called difficult, which they did call me, but I believe the word they used was ‘nightmare."”

“Every human being, no matter how successful they are, should have the power to be treated with respect because they’re human…

“In a dream world, everyone is treated with the exact same level of respect, but until we reach that goal, I will lend my ear, I will lend my voice to any boy, girl, man or woman who does not feel like they can protect themselves.”

After the Weinstein story came to light, Lawrence also released the following statement:

“I was deeply disturbed to hear the news about Harvey Weinstein’s behavior,” she said. “I worked with Harvey five years ago and I did not experience any form of harassment personally, nor did I know about any of these allegations.

“This kind of abuse is inexcusable and absolutely upsetting.”

“My heart goes out to all of the women affected by these gross actions. And I want to thank them for their bravery to come forward.”

Blac Chyna Poses with Dream, Prepares to Shed Weight

Blac Chyna is clearly savoring this time with her brand new daughter.

But she’s also making plans to leave that child behind.

Or to leave the weight gained while carrying that child to term behind, we should say.

First, the two-time mother and fiancee of Rob Kardashian has shared yet another precious photo of herself and her newborn baby, Dream Renee Kardashian.

Chyna simply posted a sleeping emoji face for this photo’s caption.

It’s good to see she’s cherishing such a moment, however. Because babies don’t sleep very much during their first couple months of life!

But while Chyna is clearly making the most out of parenthood, she also said in a Snapchat video that she has her eyes on one particular post-pregnancy prize:

Major weight loss.

On Monday, Chyna posted a Snapchat of her healthy meal, saying on video: “I’m about to get this body back right – rice, salmon, salad.”

Which is great and all. She should absolutely want to eat healthy.

But we took up this same issue back when Kim Kardashian talked at painful length about wanting to shed her excess baby weight so soon after giving birth to Saint West.

It sets a bad example for other mothers out there.

There are more important things right now than returning to one’s former weight. You just gave birth to a human being! You were just at the center of a miracle!

Sit back. Enjoy it. Appreciate it. Savor it.

At the very least, don’t publicize your desire to get right back into shape because most mothers out there are so overwhelmed by parenthood that they simply can’t think that way.

Moreover, they may not be able to afford to think this way.

Chyna and Kim are far better off than a significant majority of people on this planet; they can afford personal chefs or personal trainers and they can pretty much set their own work schedule.

All that venting aside, Chyna and Rob look so gosh darn cute with little Dream!

It’s almost hard to believe this is the same couple that spend every episode of their reality show arguing, fighting and screaming.

Since becoming parents, it’s been impossible to wipe the smiles off their faces, with Chyna sharing a photo of her breastfeeding Dream and Rob gushing like a proud papa.

“I am so lucky!! Thank you @blacchyna for having our baby and being so strong! I love you so much and can’t wait to see her get older day by day with you Chy!” he wrote shortly after Blac Chyna gave birth.

He later added:

“I love you and Dream so much and Appreciate both of you. I know everyone saying that’s my twin but that’s def your nose Chy lol.”

New aunt Khloe Kardashian was also excited about this addition to the family, Tweeting on Thursday afternoon:

“My new niece is absolutely stunning!!! So thankful I was able to land in time to witness this miracle happen! Praise God!”

“I can’t stop looking at her. Congrats @robkardashian @blacchyna She’s so beyond beautiful, a dream,” she wrote.

We’re yet to hear from Kim and Kanye West, but they did send Dream her very first pair of sneakers. Of the Yeezus variety, of course.

Rob Kardashian: Going Under The Knife To Shed Excess Pounds?

Most people hit the gym and cut out carbs before their wedding.

Unless you’re a Kardashian, in which case you head right to Dr. Feel Good for immediate results.

Rob Kardashian, according to OK! Magazine, has hit an “exercise plateau” and wants to do something about it.

“Rob needs to drop 50 more pounds to reach his goal so [Blac] Chyna referred him to her plastic surgeon, who suggested Rob immediately start noninvasive liposuction on his back, buttocks, arms, belly, check and neck,” a source told the tabloid.

Chyna has been instrumental in helping Kardashian get healthy after three years of weight gain and depression.

The source adds that Kardashian doesn’t lead a 100% sober life.

“Rob isn’t clean and sober by any means.

“Alcohol and pot are readily available through the crew that he and Chyna hang out with. He’s not abusing like he has in the past, but he hasn’t completely cut that stuff from his lifestyle, and that’s become a factor in his inability to lose the weight.”

The source also mentioned that Kardashian has been indulging in “sympathy cravings,” since Chyna is expecting their first child later this year.

The sole male Kardashian isn’t the only family member who’s gone under the knife prior to a big event.

Kris Jenner had a facelift before Kim Kardashian’s August 2011 nuptials to Kris Humphries, and had it filmed for Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Rob & Chyna, the couple’s new reality show, has already started filming, and we wouldn’t put it past Kardashian to discuss the topic on air.

Since their relationship went public back in January, Kardashian and Chyna have shared Instagrams and Snapchats documenting their workouts and meals.  

Chyna has been credited with turning his life around.

“Everything about him has changed,” a friend of Kardashian’s told Us Weekly back in February.

“She’s been so good for him. He says he can’t believe a girl this hot is into him.”

Khloe Kardashian Explains Why She"d Never Cheat

We’re not sure what they were serving this week on Kocktails with Khloe.

But the talk show’s lead star appears to have downed some truth serum.

First, Khloe confirmed that James Harden cheated on her at some point in their relationship, saying she has the “receipts to prove” this unethical act.

Next, Khloe explained why she would never be unfaithful to her boyfriend or husband.

And her reasoning went back multiple decades, as she referenced an affair mother Kris Jenner admitted to having had when married to Khloe’s dad, Robert Kardashian.

“I saw how it destroyed my dad,” Kardashian told her guests. “I saw what it it did to my dad so I don’t want to do that. I also saw the regret from my mom.”

Jenner revealed in her 2011 memoir Kris Jenner…And All Things Kardashian that she had an affair with a producer when she was 30 and married to Robert.

The two divorced in 1990 and Robert died from cancer in 2003.

On this episode of Kocktails with Khloe, meanwhile, Kardashian also opened up about her marriage to estranged husband Lamar Odom, who has admitted himself to cheating on Khloe back when he was battling a substance abuse problem.

“People can say whatever they want about Lamar, but our relationship was so unbelievable,” Kardashian said.

“The good outweighed the bad … I still have only great things to say about him. But he also set the bar [high for future relationships].”

Despite all he did to her, and despite the fact that he fell unconscious last October while frequenting a brothel in Nevada, Khloe remains committed to Odom.

“I want Lamar to be happy with his life,” Kardashian said. “I feel like that is my role.”

It’s really pretty admirable, if you think about it.

You can make fun of Khloe Kardashian for many legitimate reasons, but this really does seem to be a prime example of true love.
