Game of Thrones Season 7 Photos Are Here!

Sigh. It"s just not April without incest, beheadings, and sassy eunuchs.

But sadly, production issues have forced the premiere of Game of Thrones Season 7 to be pushed back until July 16.

Fortunately, summer is coming (eventually), and with it, the promise of more wacky shenanigans from our favorite power-hungry, bloodthirsty aspiring despots.

(Feel free to fill in your own joke about the Trump administration here.)

Check out the first official photos from GoT Season 7 in the gallery below, and watch Game of Thrones online if you"re somehow not caught up.

You can"t expect your friends to keep allowing you to live a spoiler-free existence forever!

1. Daenerys in Westeros!

Daenerys in westeros

Dany has arrived on the other side of the Narrow Sea. We get the feeling the Lannisters fortunes are about to take a turn for the worse.

2. Jon Snow Fo’ Sho’

Jon snow fo sho

Jon Snow still looks like he’s in deep thought at all times. It’s not easy beng the King in the North.

3. Arya Looking Sinister

Arya looking sinister

It looks like Arya is still on the scene of the murder of Walder Frey. We know revenge can make you hungry, but hopefully she won’t eat the pie.

4. Lyanna Mormont Is Back!

Lyanna mormont is back

Can we just get Lyanna her own spinoff or talk show or something? We didn’t think it was possible, but she’s too badass for GoT.

5. Davos Seaworth: Still Grizzled

Davos seaworth still grizzled

Davos Seaworth is still doling out advice. More importantly, he’s still rocking a beard like he invented facial hair.

6. Essos in the West

Dany’s motley crew is ready to kick some ass in the West. The Seven Kingdoms won’t know what hit ‘em.

Game of Thrones Season 7: First Promo!

… And then there were three.

HBO has released the first official trailer for Game of Thrones Season 7, and while it doesn"t depict any new footage from upcoming episodes, it does give fans a pretty clear idea at which trio of characters will be featured most prominently.

Here"s a hint:

One committed mass murder to conclude Season 6, while the other two have something very similar in common.

Like DNA.

Set to the song "Sit Down" by James, the trailer gives us a look at Cersei, Jon Snow and Dany each making their way to the Westeros throne.

When we last left this beloved villain and her two foes, Cersei had just killed pretty much everyone and taken control of the Seven Kingdoms…

… while viewers learned what had been hinted at for so long: Jon Snow and Dany are related.

Will they finally meet on Season 7, which premieres in July? It"s very safe to assume.

But the following footage also reminds fans that a battle for the throne isn"t all that will be at stake over the final two seasons of this epic drama.

Or, to be more clear, a battle for the throne between humans only isn"t all that will be at stake.

Another creature has a role to play this summer and beyond.

You shouldn"t need to visit our section of Game of Thrones spoilers to know who we mean.

Click PLAY right now and then place your bets on the only question that matters:

Who will win the Game of Thrones?

Game of Thrones Season 7: Premiere Date Announced!

Summer is coming.

Doesn’t exactly have the same ring to it, does it?

But it remains true, and with summer will come the return of the most popular show on television.

Via a Facebook Live “event” that was really just a block of ice slowly melting away to reveal a date, HBO announced today that Game of Thrones Season 7 will premiere on July 16, 2017.

Mark your calendars. Set your DVR. And plan all vacations accordingly.

The network has also unveiled the first official poster for this beloved series, which will debut in July for the first time in show history.

The teaser image – first seen this week at the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas – evokes a pair of the the iconic fantasy series’ favorite themes:

  1. Fire (typically represented by Daenerys and her “children,” of course).

  2. Ice (most commonly associated with northern son Jon Snow).

What might this mean? You’re guess is as good as ours.

But it’s safe to assume that Dany and Jon will finally meet this season.

What else do we know at this time about Game of Thrones Season 7?

According to a script that allegedly leaked, fans can look forward to the following storylines. (Consider yourselves SPOILER WARNED.)

Jon Snow and Daenerys spend a great deal of the season together at Dragonstone.

Arya and Sansa will be reunited, with the former essentially acting as a killing machine at this point.

Under orders from Sana, Arya will kill Littlefinger.

Cersei will be pregnant (no word yet on the identity of the father) and will form an alliance with Euron Greyjoy to do battle against Jon and Dany.

Sam, Gilly and Bran will piece together that Jon Snow the rightful heir to the Iron Throne.

Jon will head north of the Wall to capture a wight and bring it back as evidence of the very dangerous threat that exists there.

Oh, and The Night’s King will actually possesses Dany’s dragon Viserion and turn him into an ice dragon that destroys the fall. WHOA!

This all should be taken with a grain of salt the size of Tyrion’s ego, of course.

But it all sounds rather epic.

No official announcement has been made, meanwhile, but Game of Thrones is expected to come to an end after Season 8.

We have no idea what we’ll do on Sunday nights after that. We really don’t want to think about it.

Neil Fingleton Dies: Game of Thrones Actor Was 36

The sad news keeps coming this weekend — just as we’ve learned of beloved actor Bill Paxton’s death, we’re learning another star has also passed away.

Neil Fingleton, an actor whose work was featured on shows like Game of Thrones and Doctor Who, has died.

He was only 36 years old, and the cause of death has been listed as heart failure.

In addition to his acting, Neil was known for one other thing: at 7’7″, he was one of the tallest men in the world. In 2007, he was officially named the Tallest Man in Britain.

In an interview with the Guinness book of World Records in 2007, he explained that “I have always been taller than everyone since I remember.”

“My height really took off when I reached 11 and was touching 7 foot. By the time I was 16, I was 7-foot-5 and stopped growing at 18 when I was 7-foot-7.56.”

But he said that while he was undoubtedly the tallest person in nearly any room, “I have never been self conscious about my height. I am more conscious of going bald so that should tell you.”

“I never let my height play a negative part in my life,” he went on. “I always do what I want.”

Born in England, he came to the U.S. to play college basketball for the University of North Carolina and the College of the Holy Cross in Massachusetts.

After graduating, he went on to play professional basketball in several countries, including England, Spain, Italy, Greece, and China.

But it wasn’t too long before he returned home to England to begin his acting career.

Neil had roles in movies like X-Men: First Class, 47 Ronin, and Jupiter Ascending. He was also the motion capture actor for Ultron in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Though he was perhaps best known for his television roles.

He played the Fisher King on Doctor Who, and Mag the Mighty in Game of Thrones.

Both shows have huge fan bases, so it should go without saying that his fans are mourning him right now.

“RIP Neil Fingleton,” one fan wrote. “A real life giant and a badass one on TV.”

Another wrote “So sad. Just wanted you fall in #gameofthrones season 6, only to read of your death online. 36 with achievements.”

Fellow Game of Thrones actor Ian Whyte tweeted “Very sad to hear of the tragic passing of Neil Fingleton. He followed his dreams. Rest in peace.”

Our condolences to his friends and family.

Peter Vaughan Dies; Game of Thrones Star Was 93

Peter Vaughan, the actor best known stateside for his role as the elderly Night’s Watch maester Aemon Targaryen on Game of Thrones, has passed away.

Vaughan was 93 years old.

U.K. television fans will also recognize Vaughan for his work as Grouty in the beloved sitcom Porridge.

The news of Vaughan’s passing was made public this morning by his agent, Sally Long-Innes, who issued a press release reading:

“This is to confirm that very sadly Peter Vaughan passed away at approximately 10:30 this morning.

“He died peacefully with his family around him.”

Peter Vaughan

First appearing in the Season One episode “Lord Snow”, Vaughan’s Maester Aemon was a semi-regular on the wildly popular HBO fantasy series.

When his character passed in Season Five, it was noteworthy as the only time a character on the show died onscreen of natural causes.

Fans of the series have been paying tribute to Vaughan with the familiar refrain “and now his watch is ended” a reference to the phrase uttered at funerals for members of the Night’s Watch.

Beginning with stage roles while he was still in his teens, Vaughan’s career spanned more than 75 years.

He racked over 200 credits in that time, receiving his television role in 1959.

In addition to his work on Porridge and GoT, Vaughan received great deal of acclaim for his work as an Alzheimer’s patiend in the beloved British miniseries Our Friends to the North.

Over the course of his wildly prolific career, Vaughan acted opposite some of the biggest names in entertainment.

He received second billing to Frank Sinatra in 1967’s The Naked Runner.

He starred alongside Anthony Hopkins in the beloved 1993 film The Remains of the Day.

One of the better-known TV character actors in his native U.K., Vaughan developed a reputation with playing hardened chatacters such as police officers and stern elders.

It’s somewhat ironic that his final role is that of the kind and nurturing Maester Aemon, but friends and family say the character’s gentle good nature was closer to Vaughan’s real-life personality than any of the cranks that had previously made him famous.

Vaughan’s name became a trending topic on Twitter within minutes of the announcement of his passing.

And now his watch has ended…

Game of Thrones Season 7: ENTIRE PLOT Leaks Online!

Sigh. This is why we can’t have nice things, Internet.

While the rest of the world was worried about Russian hackers and Hillary’s email, something far more unsettling than all of the Anthony Weiner dick pics combined happened on Reddit.

A Redditor who has since deleted his account claims to have all the details of the plot of Game of Thrones Season 7, and of course, he “leaked” them online in great detail.

We know what you’re thinking:

Wow, there’s a guy on the Internet who claims to have inside information about Game of Thrones?!

What’s next, you’re gonna hit me with the bombshell that Donald Trump is occasionally disrespectful toward women?!?!?!

To that we say, you have a real attitude problem, hypothetical reader.

Also, you make a good point, but there’s a reason to believe that this particular guy – who went by the Reddit handle awayforthelads – actually knows what he’s talking about.

The most compelling evidence is that his information seems to match up with other Game of Thrones Season 7 spoilers that have already emerged from the set.

Here’s a rundown of what awayforthelads says will happen in the show’s final 13 episodes.

In case it wasn’t perfectly clear, the remainder of this article is dark and full of spoilers:

According to awayforthelads, Jon Snow and Daenerys spend much of the season together at Dragonstone.

They eventually have sex as the Wall crumbles.

Kind of weird considering they’re related, but we already seen that GoT is willing to “go there” in terms of incest.

Elsewhere in Westeros, Arya and Sansa are reunited, and the former is basically a PTSD-addled killing machine at this point.

She eventually executes Littlefinger under orders from Sansa.

Meanwhile, a pregnant Cersei (no word on who the father is) forms an alliance with Euron Greyjoy to fight against Jon and Dany, and that goes about as well as you would expect.

Sam, Gilly and Bran piece together that Jon is the rightful heir to the Iron Throne, but this part is sparse on details, and it’s unclear if he does eventually become king.

In fact, the only ones who are assured to live through the final episode (according to awayforthelads, of course) are Sansa and Arya.

At some point, Jon goes north of the Wall to capture a wight and bring it back as proof that the Westerosi equivalent of climate change is a real and imminent threat.

The Night’s King (remember him?) possesses Dany’s dragon Viserion and turns him into an ice dragon (ed. note: ?!?!?!?!) that destroys the Wall.

There. Now we’re all in the same boat of having that thing we enjoy ruined.

A Redditor who claims to be close to one of the show’s “major actors/actresses in the show” says the revelations are all BS, but thus far, the reports and photos that have emerged from filming bear out the major plot points outlined by awayforthelads.

We don’t know what’s worse, that all of this information is out there, or that we’re doomed to spend the next eight months thinking Cersei bringing another child into the world.

Things tend to not work out great for her kids.

Watch Game of Thrones online at TV Fanatic to hold yourself over until the now-thoroughly-spoiled seventh season premieres.
