Jennifer Lopez is going from the judges’ table to the hosting chair.
We can confirm that the American Idol panelist has been tapped to emcee the 2015 American Music Awards, which will air in Las Angeles next month and which will also feature Lopez as a performer.
Lopez, who will take over for good friend Pitbull in this role, Tweeted a number of photos of herself at the ceremony over the years, writing on Twitter in making the announcement:
“From my first @TheAMAs nomination 15 years ago to HOSTING the 2015 #AMAs! It’s going down 11/22 on ABC!!”
The beloved artist and actress also participated in last year’s show, performing “Booty” with Iggy Azalea.
Nominations for the 2015 American Music Awards will be unveiled by Joe Jonas and Charlie Puth on Good Morning America next Tuesday.
We’re just gonna go ahead now and congratulate Taylor Swift on leading the pack. Because, come on.
