This week’s format for the eight guys remaining: A second two-on-one date, plus a regular one-on-one date and the one group date.
First up? Wells’ one-on-one, which was preceded by him telling the guys that he was the only one who hadn’t kissed the beauty yet.
Naturally, the guys had a field day with that one.
The date didn’t help. Unlike Jordan Rodgers, who got to chill on a yacht last week, already anxious Wells had to do performance art.
Pretty awkward. But he kissed her in the end!
Sadly, that was the high point. After sitting down to dinner and discussing life, previous relationships, perspectives on love, and so on?
Wells just seemed like he didn’t want to be there, or was at the very least uncomfortable, and JoJo was not feeling any sort of connection.
He did not get the rose, and was sent home.
Next up? A group date with Jordan Rodgers, Luke Pell, Robby Hayes, James and Alex, who explored Buenos Aires with The Bachelorette.
The tension was getting pretty palpable.
James started to crack a bit, telling JoJo how he got into a big fight playing poker with Jordan, but not being clear on his overall point.
More than anything, it felt like James was just annoyed that he was going up against the handsome, athletic brother of Aaron Rodgers.
Word got back to the former football star, however, after JoJo asked if he felt “entitled,” and he called out James in front of Robby and Alex.
It was Luke Pell, meanwhile, who got the group date rose, while Derek and Chase prepared for their do-or-die two-on-one with Ms. Fletcher.
While Derek was definitely more open about his feelings, and really confident about his chance, she took Chase, sending Derek home.
Even Chase was a little surprised by that one. At the cocktail party, JoJo faced the unusual situation of being unsure what to do next.
Luke and Chase already had roses, and Jordan and Robby Hayes were obviously getting them, so it was between Alex and James.
When it came time for the rose ceremony … she still couldn’t make up her mind and decided to take both along to the following week.
Despite surviving and advancing by any means necessary, which is all that matters in this came, Alex was kind of pissed about this.
Why? He felt they both got “pity roses” and that he should’ve earned it for real over James. Hey, if you’re still in, take what you can get.
