Spirit Airlines Cancels Flights in Florida, Mass Chaos Erupts
Move over, Florida Man.
Take a seat, Florida Woman.
We need to talk for a moment about… Florida Airport?!?
Yes.
On Monday, May 8 police officers were called to the Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport in Fort Lauderdale to deal with mass commotion after a multitude of passengers grew irate over the cancelation of their flights.
"There were several people there that were upset," Broward County Sheriff"s Office spokeswoman Gina Carter told ABC News in response to the incident, adding:
"We were called in to just make sure that things were kept from getting very unruly."
As you can see in the following footage, however, things most definitely became unruly.
Three people were reportedly placed under arrest for their roles in the melee, as angry travelers yelled at staffers while cops tried to restore order.
One witness told ABC"s Florida affiliate WSVN that numerous people were detained.
"I saw two people go down on the floor and get … handcuffed and dragged out of here," said the passenger, who was not named in the report.
Spirit is in the middle of a union dispute with the Airline Pilots Association and its pilots, who refused to fly yesterday of protest.
Said a spokesperson for the company in light of this footage;
"We are shocked and saddened to see the videos of what took place at Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport.
"This is a result of unlawful labor activity by some Spirit pilots designed to disrupt Spirit operations for our customers, by canceling multiple flights across our network."
The incident comes at a bad time in general for the airline industry.
Over the past several weeks…
- United has dragged a man out of his seat because it overbooked his flight.
- Delta has kicked off a passenger for using the bathroom.
- Virgin has refused to let a three-year old cancer patient on board a plane.

Florida Woman Offers to Trade Blow Job for Chicken McNuggets, Gets Arrested
We have good news for Kim Zolciak:
Despite asking Chrissy Teigen whether her young daughter could give someone head in exchange for meeting John Legend, the reality star has somehow managed NOT to have made the most ridiculous blow job offer of the week.
Nope.
That (dis)honor falls to Alex Direeno.
A 22-year old Florida resident (of course), Direeno was arrested at 10:15 p.m. on Tuesday and charged with prostitution and possession of drug paraphernalia.
She is being held at the Manatee County jail on bonds totaling $ 620.
But you need to read why…
Earlier that evening, Direeno walked out of a gas station in Bradenton and waved at a stranger.
It turns out that stranger was an undercover detective with the sheriff’s office and he told the woman he was talking to that he was there to pick up Direeno.
So she got into his car.
Soon after the pair started on the road together, the officer solicited Direeno.
He told her that he wanted oral sex and she agreed to perform the act for $ 25.
As they briefly negotiated the price, she finally agreed to go down on the guy for $ 25 … and some Chicken McNuggets.
It’s unclear at this time just how many Chicken McNuggets.
After the detective showed Direeno he had cash on him, he pulled over in the 4200 block of 14th Street West, where other detectives were waiting to take her into custody.
Upon searching the woman, cops found two hypodermic needles, several small baggies, a spoon and a burnt glass pipe; consistent with either heroin or crack cocaine use.
Last month, Direeno was placed on probation for three years after she pleaded guilty to grand theft auto and possession of drug paraphernalia.
She will likely end up in jail for this violation.
We sincerely hope Direeno at least got her Chicken McNuggets.
Because it’s probably the last tasty meal she’ll have for awhile.
In reality, this is a very sad story, but we had to share it nonetheless.
Hopefully, Direeno gets some help and turns her life around.
Being a Florida Woman, however, she has now earned a spot in the Hall of Shame featured below, one that shines a light on the scandalous world of The Sunshine State…

Florida Man Sentenced to Jail for Sex-Based DUI Crash That Killed Wife
Matthew Notebaert has been sentenced to five years in prison for his role in a car accident that killed his wife three back in 2014.
But it’s the shocking details behind this fatal crash that has caused the story to go viral.
On March 8, 2014, Notebaert and his wife, Amanda, attended a concert for their first official night out as a couple since welcoming a daughter named Stacey into the world a few months prior.
According to Notebaert’s testimony, he and Amanda drank from a flask of Crown Royal during the event, eventually getting into the car and calling friends to try and hang out more before returning home.
At one point, they pulled over to the side of the road and started having sexual intercourse.
The following details are a bit unclear, but Notebaert pulled back on to Southern Boulevard in Florida with Amanda sitting on his lap.
All Matthew remembers next is waking up in a destroyed car, alongside Amanda’s body.
Investigators say that Notebaert turned onto East Stallion Drive at about 12:30 a.m..
He drove the couple’s Chevrolet Equinox at a speed of around 55 miles per hour (in a 30 mile per hour zone), flying through three signs on the dirt road that warned of a canal ahead.
Based on the arrest report, the vehicle then hit the canal back at such velocity that the SUV went airborne for 30 feet and came to a stop on the opposite bank of the canal.
Amanda Notebaert’s head slammed into the dashboard and windshield.
She died at the scene.
A toxicology report following the crash determined Matthew Notebaert’s blood alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit in Florida.
He also had marijuana in his system.
“I miss her more than words can express,” Notebaert said of his wife during a tearful plea to Circuit Judge Laura Johnson.
But Her Honor still sentenced Notebaert to time in jail, referring to the crash that killed Amanda as one of “the most senseless, tragic acts” she had ever come across in court.
Lisa and Mike Stacey, Matthew’s in-laws, expressed pain and anger at Notebaert during the trail, saying he restricted their time with their grandchildren since their daughter passed away.
“You had a responsibility to get your wife home safely,” Mike Stacey told Notebaert before asking Johnson to give his son-in-law the “maximum allowable sentence.”
But even prosecutors thought the maximum penalty of 10 years behind bars for this crime was too harsh, given the circumstances.
They asked for a seven-year sentence instead.
In the end, the judge referenced Notebaert’s criminal history, which includes accusations of reckless driving and leaving the scene of a crash.
Notebaert’s list of prior cases includes five felonies, ranging from cocaine possession… to burglary… to grand theft.
“This isn’t your first chance. You’ve been to jail before, you’ve been on probation,” Johnson said, adding:
“You failed your wife, you failed your children and you failed all your family that is here today.”
Matthew and Amanda have a 12-year old son at home and a three-year old daughter.

We already know who took top honors at the Academy of Country Music Awards, but the biggest shocker of the night was The Backstreet Boys performing with Florida Georgia Line.
Yes, we"re still not over that electric performance that made a dull awards show a little bit more worthwhile.
The song they performed to was none other than "God, Your Mama, and Me" and it was a solid performance. It"s not very often the rug can be pulled from under us, but we were definitely surprised.
The performance started off with Florida Georgia Lane, but then Nick Carter appeared, and things took an interesting turn as the audience went into overdrive.
The audience was also treated to a performance of iconic hit, "Everybody."
Nicole Kidman was part of the audience, and you could tell she loved every single minute of it.

Florida Woman: Yes, I Tried to Impregnate My Slave with My Boyfriend"s Sperm
Here is a story you don’t read about everyday:
A Florida woman has pleaded guilty to paying $ 3,000 in order to have a Mexican woman smuggled into the United States…
… prior to holding this woman captive for two years and attempting to impregnate her with syringes containing her boyfriend’s sperm.
According to actual court documents (obtained by People Magazine), 47-year old Esthela Clark confessed to a single count of forced labor during an appearance in federal court Monday morning.
The Jacksonville native faces 20 years in jail at her sentencing next month.
Clark paid the aforementioned sum to a group of men (known as “coyotes”) in 2012 for bringing a 22-year-old woman across the border.
The victim was apparently promised $ 4,000 to serve as a surrogate for Clark and her boyfriend.
However, the legal papers indicate she told authorities she was told the process would be overseen by medical professionals, as is often the case in these kinds of situations.
The victim has not been unidentified.
But she explained to federal agents how Clark forbade her from leaving her one-bedroom condominium in Jacksonville, telling her quasi slave that the neighborhood was dangerous and that she “would most likely be killed” if she went outside.
Clark warned this victim that she read Tarot cards and told her that if she ever tried to hide anything, “Clark would find out,” the documents read.
Things get even more disturbing from there.
Other takeaway from the legal documents include:
- The woman was forced to sleep on a mattress in the dining room.
- A week after arriving in the United States, the woman alleges that Clark tried to inseminate her with syringes containing sperm, which had been retrieved from used condoms.
- According to court filings, Clark and her unnamed boyfriend would have sexual intercourse and she would later extract semen from the contraceptive.
We’ll give you a few moments to pick your jaw up from off the floor and/or to go deposit your latest meal in the toilet…
The woman told police that Clark would occasionally inject her three to four times a day with these syringes.
After nine months of impregnation failure, the woman said Clark grew physical and psychologically abusive, forcing her to perform “domestic labor.”
The documents detail this labor as such chores as looking after Clark’s dog and cleaning her residence.
From there, the victim says Clark began rationing her food because she believed her captive was too fat and that her difficulty getting pregnant stemmed from her excessive weight, according to the documents.
The woman was fed only beans and lost 65 pounds.
“Clark isolated the victim from her family,” a statement from federal prosecutors reads. “She also attempted to collect from the victim’s family the cost she had paid to the ‘coyotes,’ with interest.”
Oh, and then there’s this:
Clark forced the woman “to have sex with two complete strangers through threats of force and coercion,” authorities state on the record, saying she threatened to hurt her family if she ever attempted to escape
A.t one point, Clark made the woman to work in local restaurants … but kept all of her earnings.
After an acquaintance of the victim learned what was going on, she contacted authorities with various sordid, illegal details.
Clark was indicted in 2015 on charges of bringing in and harboring aliens, sex trafficking of children, forced labor and furthering slave traffic.
Neither her nor anyone on he legal team has spoken out on this horrific accusations.

Florida Man Threatens Cop with Screwdriver, Claims His Pants Ran Away on Their Own
On Sunday morning, police in Pensacola, Florida were called to check on a man in a car wash parking lot.
They were alerted to the situation and asked to do something about it because 52-year-old Charles William Raulerson was just standing around… naked.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they reported they saw Raulerson, listed as ex-military, without pants on and blaring music from his vehicle.
Officers naturally asked Raulerson to put his clothes on, to which he replied that he could not do so.
Why?
Because his pants, “they took off running by themselves without me,” he explained.
While confusing and likely untrue, this statement in and of itself was not illegal.
However, when the cops simply asked Raulerson to remain his car (due to the whole nudity thing), he allegedly threatened one of them with a screwdriver.
And then when he tried to get out of his vehicle, despite repeated warnings to stay-put, an officer shocked him with a Taser stun gun, according to police.
Raulerson was charged with aggravated assault on an officer, a second-degree felony. He is being held at the Escambia County Jail in lieu of a $ 10,000 bond.
It’s unclear at this time whether or not Raulerson’s were ever found or if they were charged with any kind of crime.
What is clear, however, is that this Florida man has to work a lot harder in the future if he wants to earn a place among all-time Florida Men.
Raulerson only sat in his car, pantsless, for example.
Compare that to a previous Florida man who drove around naked with wires attached to his penis.
Or the Florida Man who learned he was married to his granddaughter… and then remained married to her, even after learning this critical piece of information.
There was also the Florida Man who blamed masturbation for his vandalism arrest.
He’s hard to beat, that Florida Man.
He’s a Man. He’s a Myth. He’s a Legend. He isn’t really a beer, but he should be, right?
We’d chug a few ounces, if only to see whether or not our pants remained in place afterward.

Enormous Alligator Wanders Around Florida, Goes Viral
Over the years, Florida Man has given us plenty of reasons to be scared of him.
Like the time he had sex with a tree while high on Flaka.
The same goes for Florida Woman.
She once got wasted on Fireball and destroyed a close friend"s wedding.
But these incidents did not prepare us for what"s truly frightening about The Sunshine State; it"s not (always) the men and women who call it home.
It"s the presence of the Florida Alligator.
On Sunday, a massive reptile (estimated to be at least 14 feet long) was spotted at a a Polk County nature preserve, casually strolling around in front of tourists.
Kim Joiner, who spotted the animal and chose to film it (as opposed to run for her life from it), told WFLA that it was “very exciting to see” the alligator in action.
As you can see below, the alligator did not feel the same way about the people around him. He seemed not to notice or not to care one bit.
Or maybe he was trying to play it cool, afraid he might get noticed, grabbed and tossed into a Wendy"s drive-thru window otherwise.
That is how they often roll in Florida.

Florida Bridesmaid Downs Bottle of Fireball, Destroys Wedding
Are you getting married in 2017, but can’t afford a destination wedding in a tropical climate?
Well, just invite Amanda Willis to the reception, and she’ll bring the Florida experience to you!
So who is this embodiment of the Sunshine State way of life?
Well, prior to this week, she was just a run-of-the-mill Floridian with sun-dappled skin, a bloated liver, and en extensive police record.
At the recent wedding of her friend Jennifer Butler, turned all the way up, behaving in a fashion that has witty local news anchors all over the country calling her a maid of dishonor! Zing!
The pun was handed to your area Men’s Wearhouse-clad talking head on a silver platter, because Willis was actually the maid of honor at the Charlotte County, Florida nuptials of Jennifer and her new husband, Brian Butler.
We imagine the couple came to regret that decision, however, as Amanda’s behavior landed her behind bars for charges including larceny, battery, grand theft of a motor vehicle, and violation of probation.
It all started – as most great stories do – when Amanda downed an entire bottle of Fireball within the first 20 minutes of the reception.
Now, the only thing more volatile than a Florida Woman is a Florida Woman with a bellyful of the Satan’s Cinnamon, and within minutes of polishing sugary liqueur to stun a mule, Amanda was off and running.
She began by asking guests for their car keys.
When that tactic failed for a number of obvious reasons, she stole the groom’s keys, and proceeded to try and run him over with his own car.
Witnesses say Butler was able to stop the vehicle with the emergency brake, but only after being dragged while holding onto the passenger side door for several hundred feet.
Other guests helped wrestle Willis back into the building … which went about as well as you would expect:
“She went back inside, grabbed up the big bottle of Captain Morgan and just guzzled it,” the bride told WBBH TV.
The best man reportedly attempted to take the bottle away from Willis, and she responded – how else? – by striking him in the head.
Police were called to the scene and were somehow able to take Willis into custody.
Due to the amount of liquor she consumed, they brought Willis to an area hospital, where she proceeded to expose herself to the arresting officers and assault two EMTs, one of whom was elderly.
The incident marks Willis’ ninth arrest in Charlotte County.
“[Jennifer] had her be her maid of honor, and it was a bad decision,” said best man Robert Templeton.

Florida Mall Brawl: Store Manager WRECKS Unruly Shopper!
An outright brawl broke out between the manager of a Steve Madden store and a Swiss shopper inside a mall in Sunrise, Fla., on Wednesday.
Amazingly, and yet not surprisingly, it was caught on video.
The drama started when the employee at Sawgrass Mills Mall told the would-be customer the store was closed at 5:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
A tad early for businesses who want to make money?
Clearly, but that"s beside the point. The hours are what they are, which most people would begrudgingly accept and move on with their lives.
This woman is not most people, quite clearly.
At first, a male staff member blocked the blonde tourist from various attempts to enter the store, which she was oddly determined to do.
Repeatedly, he told the disgruntled woman no, she couldn"t shop there today, and to back away from the door that was closed for the day.
Local radio DJ Andy Slater captured the chaos that followed on his phone, as she refused to take no for an answer and all hell broke loose.
When the Steve Madden store’s manager came over to settle the altercation, she was promptly greeted with some bottled water to the face.
As onlookers gasped, the manager responded with a shot to the woman’s face, shortly followed by another punch as she backed away.
After the skirmish, the Steve Madden employees barricaded themselves inside the store and locked the door, finally securing the premises.
Police arrived on the scene shortly thereafter.
Sunrise Police officials say they “interviewed both parties,” and despite the crazy scene, “no one was injured or taken to the hospital.”
Moreover, “No one was arrested or charged.”
The pissed-off woman in the video threatened to sue, because obviously she would threaten that, but no lawsuit has been filed. Yet.
