Calvin Harris Collaborates with Katy Perry, And Taylor Swift Fans Can"t Deal
Remember back in the day, about this time last year, when Taylor Swift’s relationship with Calvin Harris was coming to a most dramatic end?
Oh, what a deliciously dramatic time that was.
Taylor had been dating Calvin for well over a year, and their relationship was quiet and private, but the breakup was anything but.
They split, she was spotted frenching Tom Hiddleston on a beach shortly after … and things got nasty.
But more on that in a minute.
OK, now let’s shift back one more year, to this time in 2015: Taylor was just about to release her music video for “Bad Blood,” the song widely rumored to be about Katy Perry.
See, Katy and Taylor used to be friendly, but had a falling out after, according to Taylor, Katy “basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour.”
Katy had some backup dancers on a tour, and then later the same dancers toured with Taylor. In the middle of Taylor’s tour, Katy’s people asked the dancers to come on her new tour, and they did.
Is that enough to fuel a feud for the ages? It’s hard to say.
But the point is that Taylor considers Katy a mortal enemy, she had her worst breakup yet with Calvin Harris, and now something truly delightful is happening.
Calvin is releasing a new album next month, and one of the tracks will feature Katy.
Oh, the shade of it all!
It’s extra amazing because last summer, when things were getting extra messy with Taylor and Calvin, Calvin was the one who actually named Katy as Taylor’s arch-enemy for the first time.
Remember, Taylor tried to take credit for writing his hit song “This Is What You Came For,” and he wasn’t having it.
“Hurtful to me at this point that her and her team would go so far out of their way to try to make ME look bad at this stage,” he tweeted.
“I figure if you’re happy in your new relationship ou should focus on that instead of trying to tear your ex bf down for something to do.”
“I know you’re off tour,” he continued, “and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy ETC but I’m not that guy, sorry. I won’t allow it.”
“Please focus on the positive aspects of YOUR life because you’ve earned a great one.”
Katy responded with a “told you so” Hillary Clinton gif, and she retweeted an old tweet of her own: “Time, the ultimate truth teller.”
So for the two of them to come together now for a song, after all that went down … it’s going to be interesting, that’s for sure.
And it seems like most people are Team Taylor on the matter.
“People are stupid if they think Calvin’s collab with Katy is not out of his pettiness towards Taylor like c’mon,” one person tweeted.
Another wrote “Katy Perry and Calvin Harris went from this mess to a collaboration for pettiness. The power of Taylor Swift and her savage ice queen ways.”
And since “petty” seems to be the word of the day, one more Taylor fan wrote “THE POWER OF TAYLOR SWIFT Calvin and Katy collab is happening. I hope your two petty asses credit Taylor Swift for it!”
Whatever the reason for the collaboration and whatever comes from it, we are 100% here for it.

Will Katy Perry Trash Taylor Swift on New Album?
It seems like just yesterday Katy Perry released her fourth studio album, Prism.
That album was released in 2013, and we’re feeling a little old. Naturally, fans have been questioning when the 32-year-old will drop her fifth album.
Perry opened up to Entertainment Weekly about her break from the music industry, new album details and an update on whether she will be firing a song back at Taylor Swift after Bad Blood.
In the interview, Katy confirmed that she did, indeed, take a break from the limelight after her grueling Prismatic World Tour. She hit up Santa Barbara, California for some respite.
“The energy is just totally different — it’s not thirsty or desperate or clingy,” Perry tells EW.
“It’s a really beautiful kind of Zen-like feeling place. I just went there to gather myself, and I started making a record in June of last year.”
Being in the public eye must be a tough experience when you’re promoting an album, attending public appearances and embarking on a world tour, but at least Perry admits to taking breaks.
There are some stars out there that just don’t stop, and it likely ruins the fun of being one of the most popular singers on the planet.
Perry confirmed that she wrote 40 songs for her new album, but had to whittle that down to 15 to have the album made. The star never let the publication in on the big secret about the title of her latest album.
Instead, she detailed the sound of it.
“It’s really quite brave,” Perry continued.
“Sonically, it’s fun and dance-y and dark and light. It’s all of these things. It definitely is a change.”
Katie also admitted that her latest effort will chart her move into her 30s.
“I left my 20s, and I’ve gone to my 30s,” she says.
“I’ve embraced. I’ve surrendered. I’ve healed some of my issues with my family, with my relationships. Today I’m sober, but I don’t know about tomorrow! One day at a time, right? [Laughs] It’s all kind of beautiful. I built up Katy Perry, and she was so fun. And I still am Katy Perry, and I love her so much but, at the core, I’m Katheryn Hudson, and I think that’s being revealed as I embrace who I really am.”
On new song titles, Perry confirmed two, with “Bigger Than Me” and “Swish Swish” will be released later this year with the album.
Another pressing topic discussed was whether Katy planned to target Taylor Swift for allegedly making “Bad Blood” about her and if the song was actually about Perry in the first place.
Her response is pretty eye-opening.
“Well, that’s not my question to answer — if it’s about me. I think [my new album is] a very empowered record. There is no one thing that’s calling out any one person. One thing to note is: You can’t mistake kindness for weakness and don’t come for me. Anyone. Anyone. Anyone. Anyone. And that’s not to any one person and don’t quote me that it is, because it’s not. It’s not about that.”
“Honestly, when women come together and they decide to unite, this world is going to be a better place. Period end of story. But, let me say this: Everything has a reaction or a consequence so don’t forget about that, okay, honey. [Laughs] We got to keep it real, honey. This record is not about anyone else!”
“This record is about me being seen and heard so that I can see and hear everyone else! It’s not even about me! It’s about everything that I see out there that I digest. I think there’s a healing in it for me and vulnerability. If people want to connect and be healed and feel vulnerable and feel empowered and strong, God bless and here it is.”
It sure sounds like Katy is playing coy about the whole thing. Maybe she and Taylor are actually friends and are sitting giggling like school girls over some wine that the internet thinks they’re against each other.

Katy Perry Shoots John Mayer Down in Hilarious Fashion
John Mayer is in the midst of some sort of douchiness apology tour.
The idea is to make the public forgive him for his many years of being a douche, but ironically, the whole venture is tremendously douchey.
Through confessional ballads and self-deprecating interviews, Mayer is attempting to turn back the clock to a time when the mention of his name didn’t conjure up images of a text left on “read” for four days and anxious wait for the results of a VD test.
Mayer’s redemption campaign has mostly been harmless (and ineffective), but now it seems he’s dialing the whole thing up to 11 by attempting to worm his way back into the life of one of his most famous exes.
Yes, sources say Mayer is trying to win back Katy Perry.
It might seem like a ludicrous proposition, but believe it or not, Mayer and Perry have gotten back together several times since their original breakup, so it’s not so crazy for John to think she’d be willing to give him another shot.
Fortunately, Katy is older and wiser these days, and it seems she’s far less susceptible to Mayer’s BS.
According to Life & Style, Mayer recently tried to swoop in on Katy following her breakup with Orlando Bloom.
The singer reportedly sent his ex a massive bouquet of 100 roses to her house, along with a note reading, “I’m here for you.”
According to a source close to the situation, Katy was having none of that, and she immediately had the bouquet donated to a nearby nursing home.
To make sure that Mayer got the message, she then had her assistant send a pic of the flowers – presumably just chillin’ in the middle of the bingo room – to John’s phone.
“She’s horrified that he’s pining for her so publicly,” an insider tells the tabloid.
“She’s hardened her heart against him.”
Unfortunately for Katy, it seems Mayer has no intention of giving up:
“He’s desperate to convince her he’s a changed man, but she’s told friends she’ll get rid of anything he sends her,”
You’re barking up the wrong tree, John!
Katy Perry isn’t impressed by massive flower arrangements and grand declarations of love.
They’ll only get you a restraining order and a sternly-worded letter from attorneys.
At least that’s what we’ve heard, anyway.

Twenty years from now, when you’re enjoying a dinner of roast cockroach at the tree stump that serves as your kitchen table, your children will ask about what led to this moment, and you’ll finally have to tell them about the election of 2016.
You won’t want to leave anything out:
You’ll talk about Russia, #FakeNews, nasty women, bad hombres, and of course, the connection between Taylor Swift and Donald Trump.
That last part might not seem important now, but it’ll be essential for your twins, Barack and Bernie, to understand why Taylor announces the contestants for the annual Hunger Games, while her former rival, Katy Perry, is pelted with rotten fruit in the town square every day at noon.
You’ll explain to them that while Katy spoke out against Trump (who will then be a head in a jar serving his sixth term in the Oval Office), Taylor decided not to get involved, possibly due to her indirect ties to the Donald’s family.
The extent of the TayTrump alliance may have been overstated (we doubt Swift actually cast a vote for him, as has been rumored), but the fact remains that Taylor’s bestie, Karlie Kloss, is engaged to Jared Kushner’s brother, and it’s hard to believe that relationship didn’t play a role in the singer’s decision to keep mum as freakin’ every other celebrity on the planet spoke out.
Anyway, if there’s a silver lining to be found in the black cloud of doom and despair that is the 2016 election, it may be that the outcome only exacerbated the ongoing feud between Swift and Perry, which has served as an ongoing source of entertainment for several years now.
In case you had any doubt that the bad blood between Taylor and Katy is still pumping, Perry took dead aim at her rival in a recent interview with Vogue.
Check out this excerpt from the piece:
“I don’t think you have to shout it from the rooftops but I think you have to stand for something, and if you’re not standing for anything,” she adds pointedly, perhaps aiming at some of her deliberately apolitical confreres, “you’re really just serving yourself, period, end of story.

In context, the burn is even more apparent, as that quote comes directly comes directly on the heels of Katy discussing the importance of “innuendo” and “subtext” in getting your message across.
She’s basically teaching a master class in trash-talk here, folks.

Katy Perry: Tied Up in Ryan Phillippe"s Basement!!!
Okay, before you get too upset and try to get the president on the phone only to get stuck listening to Steve Bannon‘s drunken ramblings about the deconstruction of the administrative state, let us clarify one very important thing:
Katy Perry is not in any sort of danger.
And Ryan Phillippe is not guilty of any serious crimes that we’re aware.
(As far as we know, starring in the movie Antitrust is not a punishable offense … yet.)
So then why is it that we’re talking about Perry being chained to Phillippe’s water heater?
Well, it all started with the folks at Hollywood Life and one of their breathless, all-caps EXCLUSIVES.
The site reported that Katy and Ryan were spotted flirting at Elton John’s birthday party last month.
That led to rumors that they were a full-blown couple.
And those rumors led to this tweet from Ryan:
“I am not dating katy perry. Barely know her. Please stop flying helicopters over my hosue. She is not here. Thx.”
One commenter pointed out what we were all thinking, writing:
“That’s what some1 who has Katy Perry in his basement would say.”
Katy saw the exchange responded thusly:
Dammit, now we wish they were dating!
Sadly, Katy went on to make it perfectly clear that far from being a couple, she and Ryan have scarcely met:
“Hi, nice to meet you, sorry bout that @RyanPhillippe carry on, lol,” she tweeted at the actor.
There’s been no real update on Katy’s love life since reps announced back on March 1 that Perry and Orlando Bloom have broken up.
Oh, we learned last week that she’s taken the occasional dip in the lady pond, but we sort of assumed that, what with the lyrics about the cherry Chapstick and whatnot.
As for Phillippe, well, he was engaged to Paulina Slagter, but that appears to be … over?
Frankly, we have no idea.
But be honest, it wasn’t the Ryan Phillippe part of the headline that brought you here in the first place, right?
You can now rest easy knowing that Katy Perry is not locked up in the man’s basement, which means there’s no reason to send SEAL Team 6 to Phillippe’s house … yet.
Katy Perry Undergoes Radical Makeover: See the Photo!
As we all know by now, Katy Perry once kissed a girl…
… and she liked it!
But the artist has now undergone a rather dramatic makeover and we can’t help but wonder:
Do YOU like it?!?
About a month after Perry cut off a lot of her hair, the singer went back under the scissors over this past weekend, asking stylist Chris McMillan and colorist Justin Anderson to change her look even more.
The result?
Perry sort of resembles Eminem now, flaunting her very short and very blonde hair in an Instagram photo while also rocking a hooded jacket.

In this selfie, Perry stands in front of a rack of clothes, a lot of makeup on her face and very little hair on top of her head.
“Fifth element flow,” she captioned the photo.
We’re pretty sure this is a reference to Brad Pitt’s character in the movie The Fifth Element, which came out in 1997 and earned Pitt an Oscar nomination.
McMillan and Anderson were also behind Perry’s first hair transformation this year, when the star went from brunette to platinum blonde in late January.
Then, a little over a month later as mentioned above, she cut her shoulder-length locks into a cropped pixie.
Perry posted an Instagram video of McMillan tousling her tresses at the time, writing, “I WASN’T READY TILL NOW.”
There’s actually some irony to this new look.
On the red carpet of the Grammy Awards in February, Perry made a random, inappropriate reference to Britney Spears and her meltdown many years ago.
Asked by Ryan Seacrest about her hiatus from music in 2016, Perry joked as follows:
“It’s called taking care of your mental health. I haven’t shaved my head yet.”
At the same event, she made a similar comment to CBS when the topic of her evolving hair was raised.
“It’s like the last color in the spectrum that I can do,” the singer said, adding once again:
“I’ve done all of them and the only thing left to do is shave my head, which I’m really saving for a public breakdown.”
Perry has not shaved her head here, of course.
But she’s pretty darn close to having done so, wouldn’t you say?
Perhaps this is Perry’s way of apologizing to Spears.
Or maybe she made those comments earlier this year out of jealousy and she actually admires Britney’s unusual hairstyle back in the day.

Katy Perry: I Did WAY More Than Just Kiss a Girl!
At this point, Katy Perry has been around so long that it just kind of feels like she’s always been there, doesn’t it?
But we can’t forget that the very first time we met Katy was nine years ago, when she told us all about how she kissed a girl … and she liked it.
“The taste of her cherry Chapstick,” you know you remember.
Since then, Katy’s released hit after hit, she’s had a number of Hollywood romances, she’s even had a feud with Taylor Swift — she’s a permanent fixture in the entertainment world.
But even after all that, she’s still ready and willing to go back to those bi-curious roots.
And we couldn’t love her more for it.
See, Katy attended the Human Rights Campaign’s gala dinner last night in L.A., where she received the National Equality Award.
During her acceptance speech, she said “I’m just a singer-songwriter, honestly. I speak my truths and I paint my fantasies into these little, bite-size pop songs.”
“For instance, ‘I kissed a girl and liked it.’ Truth be told … I did more than that.”
But, she went on, “How was I going to reconcile that with a gospel-singing girl raised in youth groups that were pro-conversion camps?”
She’s talking, of course, about her ultra-religious upbringing. Her parents were the kind of people who wouldn’t let her celebrate Halloween, so it makes sense that they wouldn’t be cool with this.
“What I did know,” Katy continued, “is that I was curious, and even then I knew sexuality wasn’t as black and white as this dress.”
“And honestly, I haven’t always gotten it right, but in 2008, when that song came out, I knew that I started a conversation that a lot of the world seemed curious enough to sing along to.”
She opened up more about her upbringing, explaining that “When I was growing up, homosexuality was synonymous with the words ‘abomination’ and ‘hell."”
She even said that she “prayed the gay away at my Jesus camps.”
But as she grew up and began writing and performing songs, she met more and more different kinds of people — namely people who weren’t the strictly heterosexual Christians she grew up around.
“These people were nothing like I had been taught to fear,” she said. “They were the most free, strong, kind and inclusive people I have ever met.”
“They stimulated my mind, and they filled my heart with joy, and they danced with joy while doing it.”
“These people are actually magic,” she said, “and they are magic because they are living their truth.”
Katy concluded by saying that “I stand here as real evidence for all, that no matter where you came from, it is about where you are going — that real change, real evolution, and that real perception shift can happen, if we open our minds and soften our hearts.”
“No longer can I sit in silence. I have to stand for what I know is true and that is equality and justice for all, period.”
Katy Perry, everybody. A true gift.

Katy Perry Chops Hair, Looks Like Miley Cyrus
Is Katy Perry trying to be Miley Cyrus?
If her recent Instagram posts are to be believed, then possibly.
The 32-year-old hit up the social media platform with a picture and a video showing off her bold new look, and yes, she does look like Miley Cyrus.
In fact, if Miley had a secret love child with Sarah Paulson, you would get Katy and her exciting new look.

Katy has been known to change her hair color often, but cutting it all off is a new one for the star.
In addition to the cute picture, she uploaded a video of her asking her hairstylist how he felt about her locks.
“What do you think, Chris?” the former love of Orlando Bloom asked.
Considering he was the one giving Perry the new look, it’s not like he was going to slate it.
Perry made headlines earlier this week when it was announced that her romance with Orlando Bloom had come to an end.
It was somewhat surprising when you consider all the baby and engagement rumors.
It seemed like they were in it for the long haul. Unfortunately, their conflicting schedules were to blame.
However, the pair issued a joint statement to let the world know there was no animosity between the two.
Hey, it’s always good to end things on a respectable note. Right?!
Their last public appearance was at the 89th Annual Academy Awards but did not attend together.
They did, however, have a chat when they were inside the venue, so this backs up the claim that it ended amicably for them.
Perry is busy promoting her latest single, “Chained to the Rhythm.” This is in preparation for her upcoming fifth studio album.

Orlando Bloom: Caught Cheating on Katy Perry?
Earlier today, we reported that Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have broken up after about one year of dating.
The former couple issued a joint statement assuring fans that the split was entirely mutual and amicable, and that Katy and Orlando would remain close friends.
The press release read, in part:
“Before rumors or falsifications get out of hand, we can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time.”
“Respectful, loving space”?
If that’s not an overcompensating statement, then we’ve never heard one.
Given that there was talk of Perry and Bloom getting engaged just a few short months ago, it seems clear that this wasn’t a case of just gradually growing apart, and that something happened that led these two to call it quits.
At first, theories sprung up that the relationship went up in flames during the Vanity Fair after-party following the 2017 Academy Awards.
Now, new rumors seem to support that theory, and the blame is being placed squarely on Orlando’s shoulders.
Both parties attended the party, but they reportedly stuck to opposite sides of the room, like opposite sex middle-schoolers at a semi-formal dance.
“Katy didn’t spend much time with Orlando,” said the onlooker.
“They got together for a photo, but that was about it.”
Until moments ago, it was widely assumed that Katy and Orlando had gotten in some sort of fight, and that we’d likely never figure out the exact cause of it.
Now, Radar Online is claiming to have uncovered the cause of their deal-breaking blowout:
According to the site, Orlando was spotted getting flirty with an heiress named Erin McCabe at the star-studded bash.
Some insiders feel that he and Katy were already broken up before the party, and Orlando has simply already moved on to someone new.
Others claim that Katy witnessed the flirtation, got pissed, and dropped Orlando on the spot.
Either way, it seems the situation isn’t as respectful and loving as Katy and Orlando initially led us to believe.
We guess Orlando can join Russell Brand and John Mayer on the lengthy list of Katy Perry’s douchey exes.
The girl just doesn’t seem to have great luck with men.
It’s a shame she doesn’t get along better with Taylor Swift, because those two could team up on a mean duet.
