Lorde and Jack Antonoff: Dating?!
It’s been about six weeks since Lena Dunham and Jack Antonoff broke up, and both parties have remained relatively mum on the cause of their split.
Sure, they’ve made some vague remarks to the press, but we don’t really know what prompted to abruptly end their
Although we’re starting to get a rough idea of where it all went wrong…
That’s Jack hanging out with singer and former Lena bestie Lorde.
We’re not saying they’re definitely hooking up, but it’s worth noting that the amount of time Lorde’s been spending with Jack is inversely proportional to the amount of time she’s been spending with Lena.
In other words, yeah, we basically are saying they’re hooking up.
Jack and Lorde (real name Ella Yelich-O’Connor) claim that they’re just friends, but their recent behavior seems to tell a different story.
For starters, the two of them spent the entirety of Grammy weekend together.
Now granted, they’re frequent collaborators, so it made sense that they were seated next to each other at the ceremony.
But partying with a friend of the opposite sex when you’re fresh from a high-profile breakup obviously sends a certain message.
And onlookers say Jack and Lorde didn’t seem to mind that others were picking up on that message.
But the clearest indication that Jack and Lorde are hooking up is that the two of them were recently spotted hanging out one-on-one in Auckland, in her native New Zealand.
Antonoff played a show there with his band, but the fact that he decided to stay on in the farthest nether-regions of the planet just to spend a few more days with Lorde might speak volumes about their relationship.
“There’s nothing going on between Ella and Jack,” one insider tells People magazine.
“There’s not any type of romantic situation. They’re just friends — they really are just friends.”
It sounds like the source here, really, really wants to believe there’s nothing romantic going on between Jack and Lorde.
We wouldn’t be surprised if the insider went on to make a bunch of uncomfortable comments about Odell Beckham Jr.
The source is Lena Dunham, is what we’re saying.

Grammy Viewers Ask, Attack: Where the Heck Was Lorde Last Night?!?
Lorde was very clearly snubbed at the Grammy Awards on Sunday night.
Not in terms of nominations; the singer was actually up for Album of the Year, arguably the highest honor of the entire ceremony.
But that’s the entire problem.
Confused? Allow us to explain…
Lorde was the only female to be nominated for Album of the Year at this year’s ceremony, as she was joined in the category by Childish Gambino, JAY-Z, Kendrick Lamar and Bruno Mars.
Impressive feat, right? Absolutely.
However, it was somewhat marred by the strange fact that Lorde was the only member of this illustrious group NOT to be asked to perform at the Grammys.
According to Entertainment Tonight, Lorde was approached by producers to take part in a Tom Petty tribute performance at one point during the event…
… but she declined out of protest.
It’s hard to blame her, isn’t it?
What possible reason would the Grammy Awards have for asking only men to take the stage?
Aside from the obvious reason of sexism, that is?
This oversight was made even more obvious (and unfortunate) by the ongoing #MeToo movement and the ongoing focus on how men are treated differently than women in the entertainment industry.
Late last week, a few days prior to the Grammys, Lorde’s mother sent out a cryptic message that clearly related to this snub.
Highlighting a portion of a New York Times article about gender equality in the music industry, she wrote “This says it all.”
CBS viewers subsequently tweeted their outrage on Sunday as they watched other artists and host James Corden soak up airtime in place of Lorde.
Following the show, Recording Academy President Neil Portnow even responded to a question from the press about Lorde’s absence from the roster of performances.
This was not an oversight that went unnoticed.
“We can’t have a performance from every nominee,” he said without addressing any singer by name or indicating whether Lorde was invited to perform.
He added:
“We have to create [a show] that has balance… and what you saw was our best judgment on how to do that.”
As you can see above, however, this answer didn’t sit well with viewers.
Especially in light of Sting, who isn’t exactly relevant these days in the music game, being featured in two separate segments for some reason.
They found time for that, but not any time to recognize Lorde?!?
Not cool, Grammys. Not cool at all.
At least we’ll always have Lorde’s memorable VMAs performance to replay over and over.
But still: this was very lame.

Lorde Not Performing at Grammys Because She Wasn"t Offered Solo Spot

Lorde at the VMAs: What the Hell Was That?!
In terms of both performances and onstage drama, the Video Music Awards tend to offer up a very mixed bag.
Part of the problem is that the show is always so heavily-hyped that it"s virtually impossible to live up to fan expectations every year.
Add to that the fact that MTV"s signature award show has served as the backdrop for some of the most memorable pop cultural moments of the past several decades, and it"s not hard to see why the ceremony so often disappoints.
The 2017 VMAs were loaded with the potential to go down in history, what with the tension surrounding rivalries between Taylor Swift and … well, everyone.
But despite some memorable moments (Kendrick Lamar"s performance was one for the ages.) the proceedings felt oddly lifeless.
And for many fans, the surprisingly blasé tone of the night was perfectly encapsulated by Lorde"s seemingly apathetic performance of "Homemade Dynamite", a track from her sophomore studio album.
The Kiwi songstress didn"t sing the song, or even lip sync along with it, opting instead for an interpretive dance routing that left many fans confused (and maybe even concerned).
Of course, the 20-year-old had good reason for keeping quiet and deserves all the credit in the world for getting on stage, having revealed before the show that she was suffering from such a bad case of the flu that she needed an IV.
It"s a very good explanation for a very admirable (albeit odd) performance, but don"t go using that excuse in your own life.
"Sorry, boss, I"m a little under the weather. Gonna have to interpretive dance my way through this presentation."
There are many things Lorde can pull off, that the rest of us simply cannot.
Check out her much talked-about performance below:

Lorde: I"m Not In Taylor Swift"s Squad Anymore!
We probably don’t need to tell you it’s a strange and difficult time in these United States.
It’s a time in which many Americans feel that institutions that we’ve relied upon since the dawn of our republic may not be with us much longer.
We’re talking, of course, about the most beloved and historically significant symbol of the best this nation has to offer: Taylor Swift’s squad.
There was a time, children, when the #squad seemed nigh indestructible.
These days, however, the once-merry band of singers, models, actresses, and Kendrick Lamar is suffering a crisis in leadership from which it may never recover.
Taylor is lying low after a series of PR nightmares; Lena Dunham is out here killing dogs or whatever; and despite the fact that she’s back in the news in a big way thanks to her long-awaited second album, Lorde hasn’t been spotted with any fellow squad members this year.
Now it seems we know the reason for that:
She simply doesn’t roll deep with those peeps anymore.
Asked by an Australian TV host about what it’s like to party with a bunch of A-listers the Kiwi Vampire Queen set the record straight:
“I don’t hang out with these people at all,” Lorde responded.
The host – obviously chagrined by the news that Lorde doesn’t spend her weekends guzzling rosè out of a 30-foot swan-shaped ice luge in Taylor’s Connecticut backyard – at first refused to believe his guest:
“You’re part of Taylor’s squad, all the magazines tell us,” said the host.
Again, Lorde was dismissive:
“You know, you make friends in different places, but I think for the most part I’m not like, calling my idols for advice necessarily,” she replied.
We’re surprised the host didn’t open a vein on the spot and end it all.
Eventually, he’ll recover from not being able to live vicariously through a 20-year-old pop singer, but will his life still have meaning?
It will not.
Of course, the big question now is – why doesn’t Lorde roll with her famous homies anymore?
Is it because she’s simply decided the A-list life isn’t for her?
Or does it have something to do with her comparing Swift to an autoimmune disease?
We won’t know until Taylor releases a scathing diss track on the subject.

Lorde is Really Sorry for Saying THIS About Taylor Swift
Good Lorde?
Not in this case, no.
Speaking to The Guardian in promotion of her album, the young Australian was asked about her very good friend, Taylor Swift.
And she made a pretty odd comparison when talking about their close friendship.
“It’s like having a friend with very specific allergies,” Lorde said. “There are certain places you can’t go together. Certain things you can’t do.”
If she had stopped there, Lorde would have been okay.
All she’s really saying here is that Swift is very famous and is even involved in various celebrity feuds (we’re looking at you, Katy Perry and Kim Kardashian), limiting what one can do with her when going out.
You need to avoid certain plans, as Lorde says very simply above.
But the artist did not stop there. She added another line to her explanation.
“There are these different sets of considerations within the friendship. It’s like having a friend with an autoimmune disease,” she said, sticking her talented foot directly into her mouth.
There are countless types of autoimmune diseases.
They affect millions of people around the world and many of these people might not love their sometimes-grave condition being minimized by such a comparison as the one Swift makes here.
Not being able to go to a certain club with your very rich and famous friend really is nothing like having a serious illness.
Specifically, however, Lorde was called out by Internet users because Selena Gomez has Lupus. And this is an autoimmune disease.
Some were left to wonder whether Lorde was purposely taking a swipe at another close friend of Swift’s, although she swears this wasn’t her intention.
In response to a Twitter user citing Selena and then referring to Lorde’s remark as an “ignorant analogy,” the singer came right out and apologized.
“i fucked up & that was really insensitive. i’m sorry,” she wrote online last night.
Lorde and Swift have been close friends for a long time, with Swift throwing Lorde a 20th star-studded birthday party in November.
That occasion actually marked one of the few public appearances Taylor made late last year, following her spat with Kardashian over the summer and her decision to step away from the spotlight.
“Had the best birthday party I’ve ever had tonight surrounded by my nyc family,” wrote Lorde shortly after the shindig, adding at the time:
“all organised by tay who is as she says ‘a mom with no kids’. i am ur kid and u love me so hard i could burst. here’s to our 3 magic years of best friendship and more moments like this squished between angels.”
Ahead of the party, Swift wrote a moving tribute to her friend, which she shared on Instagram.
It read as follows:
Thank you for the music you make, the advice you give, the thoughts you provoke, and the way you’ve made my life more beautiful since the first day we met up in New York and ate burgers on a park bench and got attacked by squirrels.
I. Love. You. So. Much.
Lorde, who previously said she isn’t “good” at being famous, also told The Guardian that she’s thankful Swift and other pals are in her life.
This is why:
“It’s an element of wanting to stick together.
“Because it can be so scary to do this. These friendships, they’re about having a hand put on your shoulder by someone who knows. They’re about hearing, ‘I’ve done it, too.’”

Lorde: Shading Taylor Swift on Instagram?!
In 2013, Lorde released what could reasonably be called one of the best pop albums in recent memory.
Pure Heroine was a smash with critics and audiences alike, selling over three million copies and earning near-universal acclaim.
Since then, Lorde has toured the globe and blown TV audiences away with stunning award show performances, but she has yet to release any new recorded material.
Recently a “fan” adopted a particularly snotty tone to ask the 19-year-old New Zealander about her lack of musical output, and things got weird very quickly:
It all started when the Lorde non-believer inquired on Instagram:
“Do you think we will ever get another album or should we just give up on you as an artist?”
Understandably peeved, the artist shot back:
“Give up on me if you want to! I’m an artist, I write a record when I have enough special stories to tell, and it’s all me, every melody every lyric, not some team who just start the machine up every eighteen months like clockwork.
“The record is written, we’re in the production stages now. I’ve worked like a dog for a year making this thing great for you guys.”
Now, on the surface that may seem like a simple case of Lorde venting some frustration.
But as many have pointed out, the singer’s most famous friend does record an album roughly every 18 months, and has been accused of assembling a team of master tunesmiths to craft her intensely personal, deeply confessional songs:
Yes, many are interpreting Lorde’s comment as a subtle shot at Taylor Swift.
It’s a bit of a stretch, but it’s not hard to see why folks might read so much into the remarks, what with Taylor’s recent squad problems and all.
Add to that the fact that these two were formerly so tight that Lorde used to call Taylor her role model, but now they haven’t been photographed together in nearly a year, and it’s not hard to see why folks think their friendship is over with.
After all, Lorde certainly wouldn’t be the first friend to jump ship on Taylor in recent months.
Sources say the mega-star’s diva-like behavior has all but decimated her former clique.
So is it possible that Lorde and Taylor are no more?
We certainly hope not.
These two should really stick together just for the sake of that epic bra-mance name.
(That’s a bromance between two women. Get with the times!)

Lorde and Diplo: Dating?!
At Tuesday night’s BRIT Awards in London, Lorde stole the show with her heartwarming tribute to the late David Bowie.
After the show, it seems she held on to the spotlight by spending some time with a man of far more dubious musical talent.
In case you suffer from douche-amnesia (a condition that causes you to instantly forget the names of faces aof the world’s most colossal D-bags) the guy hanging out with Lorde here is Diplo.
Diplo is a 37-year-old DJ/guy who probably calls everyone “dawg.”
Lorde is an incredibly talented 19-year-old singer/songwriter whom Bowie himself once described as “the future of music.”
He probably forgot to add, “Unless she gets dragged down by some coattail-riding wiener man.”
If you feel like you’ve read about Diplo and Lorde in the same article before, that’s because you have.
After Diplo attacked Taylor Swift with a series of foully misogynistic remarks online last year, Lorde rushed to her friend’s defense.
She basically shut the dude right down by publicly speculating that he has a small penis.
Now, it looks like she’s decided to research that claim for herself.
Taylor and Diplo have made up, but the possibility of a Lorde-Diplo relationship must still seem like a nightmare for her.
After all, it wasn’t that long ago that Diplo was dating Katy Perry (another unfortunate magnet for the douchiest men the celeb world has to offer).
For all we know, he could be a spy. Don’t so it, Lorde! People have lost their squad privileges for less!
