"Horror House" Parents Charged with 12 Counts of Torture, Better Be Imprisoned for Life
David and Louise Turpin – the California parents who reportedly confined, tortured and malnourished their 13 children – now face up to 94 years to life in prison, authorities announced on Thursday.
The couple was officially charged in court today with 12 counts of torture, following their arrest this week for committing allegedly heinous acts.
As previously reported, the Turpins were discovered to have been keeping their kids captive for years, allegedly depriving them of food and keeping them chained to pieces of furniture for hours and hours at a time.
The kids ranged in age from two through 29.
A 17-year old daughter managed to escape and call the police, alerting them to the despicable conditions in which her siblings were being kept.
Bail has been set at $ 13 million for the Turpins in Riverside County, California.
Said Riverside County District Attorney Mike Hestrin on Thursday afternoon:
“All the victims were and are severely malnourished. The 29-year-old female victim weighs 82 pounds.”
The kids were immediately sent to the hospital upon being rescued by authorities and are receiving various types of treatment.
They are receiving antibiotics, vitamins and nutrients and psychologists will soon be brought in to evaluate the victims when their physical conditions improve.
Hestrin also said that the children would “sleep all day and be up all night,” confirming reports from neighbors who have said they witnessed the kids being marched all around the home during very strange hours.
According to Hestrin, “none of the victims were allowed to shower more than once a year.”
Many were found lying in piles of their own feces this week.
“This is severe physical and emotional abuse we’re talking about,” Hestrin said. “It breaks our hearts, but we’re professionals and have to seek justice.”
He noted that the 17-year old who broke free and dialed 911 had been plotting her escape for two years.
On Wednesday, investigators served search warrants to the home, spending approximately seven hours going through evidence, and walking out with several boxes, two safes and pieces of wood that appear to have been part of bed frames.
David’s mother, Betty, told reporters after her son’s arrest that David and his wife had so many kids because God wanted them to.
“I feel they were model Christians,” she told the Southern California News Group on Wednesday, adding:
“It’s hard to believe all of this. Over the years, the Lord knows what happened.”
Adds David Macher, a public defender assigned to David Turpin:
“What we would like the public to know is that our clients are presumed to be innocent, and that’s a very important presumption.”
When asked about the number of counts and the nature of the charges, Macher said:
“It’s going to be a challenge.”
Aside from suffering severe caloric malnutrition associated with muscle wasting, several of the kids have cognitive impairment and “neuropathy, which is nerve damage, as a result of this extreme and prolonged physical abuse,” Hestrin says.
What will happen now to the victims?
The Riverside County Department of Public Social Services is seeking court authorization to provide oversight and care for the 13 siblings “to the extent that’s necessary,” says Susan von Zabern, spokeswoman for the Riverside County Department of Public Social Services.
She added on Tuesday:
“At this point, we’ll be doing a full assessment with medical professionals to better understand needs of the adults as well as the children, and we’ll be prepared to provide supportive services as well as engage other agencies in assisting these individuals to be stable.”

Kylie Jenner Strips Down to Promote Lip Kit, Torture Tyga
It’s been almost three months since Kylie Jenner and Tyga broke up for the 47th and final time, and it seems that Kylizzle is having no trouble leaving her Z-list ex in the past.
According to various sources, Kylie is dating Travis Scott these days and the couple is reportedly moving at breakneck speed.
But Kylie is still a member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, which means she’s comprised of roughly 85-90% pettiness.
So when the opportunity to remind an ex of what he’s missing out on arises, you better believe Kylie’s gonna take it.
That’s a photo from Kylie’s latest ad campaign for her famous, eponymous lip kits.
Words fail us at times like these, so we’ll simply quote America’s current poet laureate Kendrick Lamar, who once remarked, “Damn.”
Racy Kylie Jenner selfies are pretty much a daily occurrence on Instagram, but this is some next-level sh-t.
Not only is a lot of skin even by Kylie standards, what we’re looking at her is no mere selfie.
For starters, it’s the work of a professional photographer, which means a lot more thought went into than the typical ‘Gram post.
On top of that, it’s intended to promote Kylie’s lip kits, and we can’t help but notice that lips aren’t really the focal point here.
The whole thing has led many fans to the conclusion that the photo was inspired more by a desire to torture T-Raww than a need to promote Kylie’s already wildly popular cosmetics.
Kylie emulates her older sisters in many ways, and she’s likely learned a lot by Kourtney Kardashians subtle acts of revenge against Scott Disick.
After years of being used, neglected, and manipulated by the Lord, Kourtney decided to launch psychological warfare with unusually risque selfies as her only weapon.
Which means Scott loses and the rest of the world wins.
So is Kylie taking a page from her older sister’s playbook here?
We may never know.
All we can do is hope she sticks with this tactic.
Oh, and that Tyga doesn’t go off the deep end quite as badly as Scott did.
That’s never fun to watch.

Steve Harvey Lawsuit: Ex-Wife Alleges Mental Torture, "Soul Murdering"
In a controversial letter to employees that went viral last week, Steve Harvey demanded to be left alone.
But Mary L. Vaughn apparently did not get the memo.
The comedian’s ex-wife is coming strong after the man she says scorned her in nearly every way imaginable, filing a $ 60 million lawsuit against Harvey that paints him in an even worse light than that infamous letter.
Vaughn and Harvey were married from 1996 through 2005.
During their time together, the former was allegedly subjected to “prolonged torture with the infliction of severe mental pain and suffering,” according to court documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight.
These same legal papers also claim that Vaughn “attempted suicide by self-medicating [in] an effort to stop the pain.”
Yikes.
They go on to allege that Harvey and his lawyer caused “severe emotional distress” that led to a litany of medical conditions for not only Vaughn … but her immediate family over the past 15 years or so.
Pretty damning accusations, that’s for certain.
And Vaughn isn’t even finished.
She’s suing the talk show host for child endangerment, torture, kidnapping, breach of contract, conspiracy against rights, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and “soul murdering.”
The lawsuit even cites such terms/actions as harassment, brainwashing and theft by deception.
Harvey and Vaughn share a 10-year old son, Wynton.
This isn’t the first time the latter has aired severe accusations against Harvey, having previously gone off on him via a YouTube video.
She was even jailed for 30 days in 2013 for contempt of court after violating the terms of a gag order in the couple’s divorce.
Harvey has three kids from his first marriage and has been the husband of third wife Marjorie since 2007.
Just a few days ago, Harvey made negative headlines after the Internet learned that he sent a memo to employees last year in which he laid out a series of ground rules.
They all boiled down to Harvey wanting total and complete privacy at work, with excerpts including the following demands:
Do not come to my dressing room unless invited.
Do not approach me while I’m in the makeup chair unless I ask to speak with you directly.
Do not wait in the hallway to speak to me… make an appointment.
The star eventually acknowledged that he sent this letter, but made no apologies for how much of a diva it made him sound like.
“I could not find a way to walk from the stage to my dressing room, to sit in my makeup chair, to walk from my dressing room to the stage or to just sit and have lunch without somebody just walking in,” Harvey explained to ET, adding:
“I’ve always had a policy where, you know, you can come and talk to me – so many people are great around here, but some of them just started taking advantage of it…
“I just didn’t want to be in this prison anymore where I had to be in this little room, scared to go out and take a breath of fresh air without somebody approaching me, so I wrote the letter.”
Vaughn would likely say that she knows a thing or two about being stuck in a prison when it comes to Harvey.
In response to her lawsuit, Steve’s attorney Brandon Williams told TMZ the followingL
“Mr. Harvey vehemently denies any allegations set forth in the lawsuit. The Complaint is meritless, frivolous and the allegations are completely false.
“We will vigorously defend/counterclaim against the Complaint.”
