Ariana Grande Resumes Tour, Dedicates Shows to All the "Angels"

Over the past several days, Ariana Grande has proven herself to be a brave, admirable, caring young woman.

But the singer confirmed on Wednesday that she’s all set to be a “Dangerous Woman” once again, as she announced the resumption of the world tour by that name that she had previously placed on hold.

Prior to taking the stage in Paris last night, the 23-year old posted a photo on Instagram of the Eiffel Tower.

As a caption, she wrote that she’s still thinking of the 22 people who were killed at her concert in Manchester last month, along with the many dozens who were injured in this suicide bombing.

“First show back tonight. Thinking of our angels every step of the way,” she wrote, adding:

“I love you with all my heart. Grateful for and incredibly proud of my band, dancers and entire crew. I love you I love you.”

Shortly after this tragedy took place, Grande canceled scheduled tour stops in London, Belgium, Germany, Poland and Switzerland.

“We ask at this time that we all continue to support the city of Manchester and all those families affected by this cowardice and senseless act of violence,” said Grande in a statement at the time, continuing as follows:

“Our way of life has once again been threatened but we will overcome this together. Thank you.”

After taking a couple days to recover herself in Florida with loved ones, Grande followed up this postponement by putting together a benefit concert.

She titled it “One Love Manchester,” she returned to the scene of the awful crime for it and she invited a handful of famous friends along.

On June 4, Grande, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Chris Martin, Katy Perry and many others raised millions of dollars for the families of those who died in the May 22 bombing.

Grande closed this special show with a rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”

And she’s now released the track to the public, with all proceeds also going toward the families of those who died in the attack or those who were wounded.

In almost every way, by nearly every possible measure, Grande has responded to this terrible event in the most impressive way one can.

Assuming all goes relatively well on her tour, the artist will next perform in Lyon on Friday.

Additional concerts are scheduled for June 11, 13, 15 and 17 to finish the European leg of the tour, prior to a 12-day break in advance of the Latin America stretch.

At last weekend’s benefit concert, Grande told the crowd at one point:

“I think the kind of love and unity we’re displaying is the medicine the world really needs right now.”

It’s true.

Grande is well aware that just singing a few songs cannot bring people back from the dead.

Those affected by this attack will continue to mourn and grieve.

But her return to the stage does send a message that one can’t back down in the face of terror, while also providing fans with a much-needed distraction and helping bring them together during a very difficult time in the world.

We applaud her.

Ariana Grande Cancels Tour Dates, Issues Statement

For reasons of safety, decorum and mental health, Ariana Grande has canceled a handful of upcoming tour dates.

In a statement issued through her publicist, the singer announced on Wednesday that shows scheduled through June 5 will no longer take place.

She has not yet made a decision on concert dates beyond that.

“Due to the tragic events in Manchester the Dangerous Woman tour with Ariana Grande has been suspended until we can further assess the situation and pay our proper respects to those lost,” the pop star’s management team says.

The statement continues:

“The London O2 shows this week have been cancelled as well as all shows through June 5 in Switzerland.

“We ask at this time that we all continue to support the city of Manchester and all those families affected by this cowardice and senseless act of violence.

“Our way of life has once again been threatened but we will overcome this together. Thank you.”

By now, you are likely aware of the tragic circumstances that prompted this statement.

On Monday night, a suicide bomber named Salman Abedi killed 22 people and injured dozens more when he detonated a nail bomb inside Manchester Arena.

He did so toward the end of a Grande concert in the venue.

British are now investigating a “network” of people and have arrested four suspects in connection with the attack, according to Manchester Police Chief Constable Ian Hopkins.

A representative of Grande’s confirmed that the young artist was physically fine shortly after the attack took place, but she is understandably shaken up.

The star wrote a Tweet in response to the bombing that said she was “broken” inside, simply saying at the time that she was “so sorry” for what transpired and adding that she had no other words to offer.

How could she?

How can anyone?

What is there to say when a terrorist blows up innocent eight-year olds and teenagers?

According to multiple users on Twitter, however, Grande is at least trying to do whatever she can in the wake of this disaster.

We have not yet received confirmation, but she’s allegedly offered to pay for the funeral expenses of every victim.

funeral payment?

On Tuesday, Grande flew back to Florida.

She is reportedly holed up with her boyfriend Mac Miller and her family, trying to recover from what happened.

“Ariana is inconsolable,” a source tells Us Weekly, adding:

“She’s absolutely heartbroken. She can’t believe this happened. She spent the night [of the tragedy] crying with her backup dancers and saying how much she adores her fans.”

Echoing this sentiment, a different insider tells People Magazine:

“It’s so, so sad. She loves her fans and is absolutely crushed and devastated as you can imagine. She can’t believe this happened. She just wants to be with her family and loved ones right now.”

Grande had been scheduled to perform next on Thursday night in London.

She has now canceled that show, along with each show through the one slated for Zürich, Switzerland on June 5.

The first date on her calendar that has NOT yet been canceled is a concert in Paris on June 7.

These musical stops are completely unimportant in comparison to the lives lost in Manchester this week, of course, but we’ll keep fans apprised of Grande’s upcoming schedule as more information is released in the coming days.

Just so they can at least plan accordingly.

In the meantime, our thoughts and prayers remain with everyone affected by this tragic act.

Ariana Grande Issues Statement on Attack, Suspends World Tour

We have an update on the terrorist attack that killed at least 19 people inside Manchester Arena on Monday night.

As previously reported, an explosion rocked this venue shortly after Ariana Grande finished her set and thanked her fans for attending.

Just as she made her way off stage, what authorities have described as a “nail bomb” was detonated, around 10:33 p.m. local time.

No organization has claimed responsibility for the mass murder, while police are operating under the assumption that this was the act of a suicide bomber.

He has not been identified, but it is the working assumption that the bomber is dead.

The death count has also now risen to 22 individuals, with 59 other concert goers reported as wounded, 19 of them in critical condition.

As a result, this is now the deadliest militant assault in Great Britain since four British Muslims killed 52 people in suicide bombings on London’s transport system in July 2005.

British Prime Minister Theresa May called for an emergency Cabinet meeting Tuesday and said the explosion was being treated as an “appalling terrorist attack.”

Police do believe there was just one bomber, however.

Numerous survivors of the blast have shared their accounts to The BBC and other outlets, with one 19-year old explaining his experience as follows:

“We ran and people were screaming around us and pushing on the stairs to go outside and people were falling down, girls were crying, and we saw these women being treated by paramedics having open wounds on their legs …

“It was just chaos… It was literally just a minute after it ended, the lights came on and the bomb went off.”

A fan in an Ariana Grande shirt stands outside a hotel in Manchester, shortly after the artist’s concert ended in the death of many attendees.

Said Donald Trump in a statement on the attack:

I extend my deepest condolences to those so terribly injured in this terrorist attack and to the many killed and the families, so many families, of the victims.

We stand in absolute solidarity with the people of the United Kingdom.

So many young beautiful innocent people living and enjoying their lives murdered by evil losers in life. I won’t call them monsters because they would like that term.

They would think that’s a great name. I will call them from now on losers because that’s what they are. They’re losers, and we’ll have more of them, but they’re losers, just remember that.

This wicked ideology must be obliterated.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel, meanwhile, said it “will only strengthen our resolve to…work together with our British friends against those who plan and carry out such inhumane deeds.”

Grande has also issued her first statement since the fatal incident.

On Twitter last night, the singer – who sources tell TMZ was “in hysterics” following the explosion – wrote a simple message that expressed her shock and grief.

“broken. from the bottom of my heart, i am so so sorry. i don’t have words,” Tweeted Grande.

Grande had been scheduled to perform on London on Thursday night.

Insiders now tell TMZ that she has suspended the entire European tour until an unspecified date, putting on hold future shows in England, Belgium, Poland, Germany and Switzerland.

Adds Grande’s manager, Scooter Braun:

“We mourn the lives of children and loved ones taken by this cowardly act. We ask all of you to hold the victims, their families, and all those affected in your hearts and prayers.”

In the following video, you can see attendees run for the exits after hearing the bomb go off:

Greater Manchester Police Chief Constable Ian Hopkins said that victims were being taken to eight hospitals and confirmed that children were among the deceased.

“We believe the attacker was carrying an improvised explosive device which he detonated,” he said.

“We have been treating this as a terrorist incident and we believe at this stage that the attack was carried out by one man.”

An investigation is underway to determine if the attacker was part of a larger plot or terrorist network.

Bianca Landrau, the Boston hip-hop star known as Bia, who also performed at the show, Tweeted an update on her status yesterday, writing:

“Guys we are okay!!!”

Police mill about the street in Manchester, searching for answers and helping anyone they can in the wake of this tragedy.

And singer Victoria Monét, the opening act at the concert, said in a statement that she was safe but “heartbroken that loved ones who came to have the night of their lives ended up losing them,” adding:

“I wish I could say that I am OK, but I am not. Please send all your prayers up high for Manchester.”

Many other celebrities have also taken to social media to issue messages of mourning.

Here is a sampling of what they’ve said:

We join everyone around the globe in sending our condolences to all affected by this heinous act.

We’ll continue to provide update on this terrible story as news breaks.

May the victims rest in peace.
