People"s Choice Awards 2018: And the Winners Were...
Nearly all the people have spoken.
Or at least many of them have done so.
On Sunday night, E! aired the 2018 People’s Choice Awards, as everyday citizens used their voice to vote for the second time in just a few days.

Chip and Joanna Gaines: We"re Returning to Television!
Chip and Joanna Gaines are about to take a new step in their professional lives.
And it’s a significant one.
The former HGTV stars announced on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Friday that they will soon make their long-awaited return to television.
In what context? In what way?
The beloved couple remained mostly mum on the subject while chatting with the comedian last night.
“We signed a non-disclosure and it said quote unquote you can tell your mother but that’s it,” Chip joked on air, adding:
“So mom, I just wanted to make a quick announcement, we are coming back to television.
“You are going to get to see the kids grow up, you are going to see us, well maybe a six-month delay like the rest of the world, but we are excited to be back.”
Just over a year ago, Chip and Joanna announced that would be leaving Fixer Upper after five seasons.
Since then, the home renovation experts have been rather busy in their own home, having welcomed their fifth child in late June.
However, Magnolia spokesman John Marsicano talked to People Magazine and offered a lot more detail on what the future holds for his co-workers:
“We’re excited to share that we are currently in the early stages of talking with Discovery about a lifestyle-focused media network for Magnolia.
“The details surrounding this opportunity remain a work in progress, but together, our hope is to build a different kind of platform for unique, inspiring and family-friendly content.”
Speaking to Fallon, Chip did add the following:
“I think we’re really going to carve it out in a way that really makes sense to us and our families.
“It’ll be filmed a lot in Waco, Texas, so we don’t have to travel a whole lot. All things being equal, we could not be more excited.”
Chip and Joanna hosted the top-rated show on HGTV prior to leaving the small screen.
Fans fell in love with how they remade various homes, but also with how they joked around and interacted with each other.
The upcoming new network will be the latest addition to Chip and Joanna’s gigantic list of successful businesses.
This includes their lifestyle magazine The Magnolia Journal, the new Magnolia Table restaurant and the couple’s product line at Target.
Despite bidding farewell to Fixer Upper in April, Chip and Joanna have remained very active in the business world.
“The show was amazing and we are so thankful for it, but it’s also a whirlwind where, if you are not careful, it will flat run you over,” Chip told People in October.
Looking ahead, Discovery spokesperson David Leavy says the following:
“The Gaineses are exceptional people, true authentic storytellers and creative visionaries who will nourish millions of people with quality, family-friendly programming accessible on a 24/7 network and across all screens.
“Stay tuned…working out the final details…more to come soon!”
Derick Dillard Comes Clean: We"re Breaking All of Jim Bob"s Rules!
We’ve known for some time now that Derick Dillard is not Jim Bob Duggar’s favorite son-in-law.
In fact, it’s been said that Jim Bob flat-out doesn’t like Derick — and frankly, it’s not hard to see why.
After all, other than Josh, no one in the Duggar clan has done more to compromise the family business than Derick.
The clearest evidence of Derick’s ineptitude is the fact that he got fired from Counting On and convinced his wife, Jill Duggar, to quit the show as a gesture of solidarity.
But leaving his family without a source of income was just the first in a long line of eff-ups for Derick.
From there, Derick’s bigoted social media tirades continued unabated, as he attacked other TLC stars such as Jazz Jennings ad Nate Berkus in the sort or ignorant tirades for which he’s become famous.
Jim Bob and company probably didn’t object to the belief system behind Derick’s unhinged rants, but the Duggars likely took issue with the public nature of his hate speech.
After all, not unlike the evangelical church that seems to have served as his business model, JB built an empire that’s based on strict adherence to a set of mostly arbitrary rules.
These days, Jim Bob’s offspring — particularly his daughters — are flouting his guidelines left and right, and the patriarch reportedly blames the men they married.
Jinger Duggar began wearing pants in defiance of the family dress code after she was granted permission by her husband, Jeremy Vuolo.
And now, Jill Duggar is allowing her kids to enjoy secular entertainment — a massive no-no in the Duggars’ world.
And not surprisingly, it seems the Duggars believe Derick is squarely to blame.
And it seems D-Dill may have just confirmed their suspicions on social media.
Earlier this week, a fan asked Derick, “Why don’t you guys get a TV?”
“How do you know we don’t have one?” Derick replied.
If you’re a longtime Counting On fan, then you’re probably already aware that the Duggars grew up in a house without television.
In recent months, Jill and Derick have taken flak for allowing their children access to such popular children’s characters as Peppa the Pig.
That may seem like just about the most innocent thing imaginable, but the Duggars are of the belief that all children’s entertainment that all children’s entertainment should have to do with fire and brimstone.
That way, kids like Henry and Spurgeon will understand why their dad is going to hell.

Khloe Kardashian to Tristan Thompson: We"re Staying Together Whether You Like It or Not!
We’ve reached the point where not a day goes by without a new rumor about Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson’s relationship status.
Earlier this week, “insiders” claimed Khloe was finally ready to dump Tristan.
Yesterday, sources insisted Khloe is moving to Cleveland to try and make the relationship work.
Now, it seems that — as is so often the case with this sort of thing — the truth is really somewhere in the middle.
According to a new report from Radar Online, Khloe very much wants to make things work with Tristan.
But that’s got more to do with her desire for a traditional family situation than with her love for Tristan.
And it sounds as though Khloe is well aware that her experiment might fail in spectacular fashion.
“On one hand, she knows that Tristan is a cheater and that he will probably always be a cheater,” a source tells the site.
“She has a hard time believing that he will ever really be faithful to her,” the insider adds.
“On the other hand, Khloe wants nothing more than to have this perfect little family.”
Fortunately, Khloe is going into this situation with both eyes wide open.
And those closest to the mother of one are highly skeptical and fully prepared for the worst.
“Everyone knows it’s inevitable she will end it eventually,” says the source.
A different insider who spoke with Entertainment Tonight was slightly more optimistic but still extremely wary:
“Khloe and Tristan are still working on things,” says the second informant.
“Whatever they decide to do moving forward, it will be whatever is best for their daughter, True.”
Ths source adds that Khloe has not relocated to Cleveland permanently and is planning to return to Los Angeles for Kris Jenner’s birthday celebration next week.
Will Khloe hunker down with True in Calabasas, forcing Tristan to jet off to SoCal every time he wants to see his daughter?
Only time will tell, but our money is on yes.
Not only does Khloe seem justifiably skeptical about her future with Tristan, we just can’t imagine the girl riding out another Cleveland winter.

Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber: Yes, We"re Married!
Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin have reportedly put an end to one of the weirder controversies in recent memory.
Simply put: Yes, the stars are married.
We never thought we’d have to clarify such a thing about such a famous couple.
But Bieber and Baldwin have remained oddly coy ever since entering a New York City courthouse a few weeks ago and… maybe tying the knot?
Maybe just obtainining a marriage license?
This has been the question ever since: Are they actually husband and wife or not?!?
On Wednesday, a woman named Nona Melkoni told Us Weekly that she sat next to Bieber and Baldwin at the restaurant at Joan’s on Third in Studio City.
And she evidently took it upon herself to play investigative reporter.
“I asked them if they were married and they simultaneously said yes!” Melkoni explained to this tabloid, adding:
“They were both very happy and kind. He told me that she’s his angel. They were super sweet!”
Wow. So there we have it, we guess.
Earlier this month, we reported that the pair had, indeed, exchanged vows inside the aforementioned courthouse and even that Baldwin was pregnant with Justin’s child.
We now stand by the first half of that sentence, but we cannot verify the second half.
Previously, insiders have claimed that Baldwin and Bieber did not want to acknowledge their status until they had a religious marriage ceremony.
They almost didn’t even view the legal side of their arrangement as “counting,” if that makes any sense.
At some point down the line, Hailey and Justin will have a far bigger ceremony and reception.
They will be married by a priest, presumably, and celebrate with all their family members and loved ones.
It’s simply unclear exactly when this will happen and exactly why they went the courthouse route to begin with.
What’s crystal clear, however, is how in love the singer is with the model.
Sorry, ladies, but it’s true.
After rekindling their romance in June, Bieber and Baldwin stunned the world when they got engaged in July.
They’ve been pretty open about their feelings for each other in the months since. To wit:
“He is incredible,” Baldwin gushed in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar published Tuesday. “He crushes everything. Every song, every feature.”
In this same interview, Hailey didn’t hesitate when it came to having children with The Biebs, bringing up the topic herself in a sort of roundabout way by remarking:
“I want more (tattoos), but I’m keeping space for my kids’ names, and certain sentimental things, and I don’t want to fill all the cute spots before … I get there.”
Due to the witness account outlined above, the question no longer seems to be whether Baldwin and Bieber are married.
Instead, attention now turns to whether the latter will make the former sign a postnuptial agreement in order to protect his giant fortune.
It’s been estimated at $ 250 million.
We know Justin is head over heels over head again in love with Hailey and everything… but we’ve simply seen too many celebrity marriages fall apart.
Make her sigh the document, dude.
Catelynn and Tyler Baltierra Reveal Baby Gender: We"re Shocked!
Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra are in shock.
First, that they are having a baby at all.
The Teen Mom stars suffered through a miscarriage very early in 2018 and admitted last month that they weren"t trying for a baby when Catelynn learned she was pregnant.
Nevertheless, the child is due in March. How exciting, right?
Catelynn and Tyler are also in shock over the gender of this impending bundle of joy, revealing the key piece of information to Us Weekly on October 17, 2018.

Heck, on a recent episode of Teen Mom OG, Tyler said he was miserable in his marriage and almost dared Catelynn to file for divorce.
2. For What Reason?
Tyler said on air, and many times in the past, that he had grown frustrated with focus constantly being on Catelynn and her mental illness struggle. He loves her. He worries about her. But he also has needs and issues that require attention.
3. That Was Then, However
After attending couples therapy and talking openly about the obstacles in their marriage, Tyler and Catelynn have managed to push through the big ones and remain together, seemingly happier than ever.
4. And Then the Bombshell Dropped!
“We are expecting our rainbow baby. This baby is our rainbow after the storm. I’m super excited,” Catelynn told Us Weekly a few weeks back, using the name given to a baby after its mother suffers a miscarriage. (Catelynn went through this trauma in January, as documented on the previous season of Teen Mom OG.)
5. SURPRISE!
“It was a huge shock at first,” Catelynn admitted in this same interview. “We were not planning it, especially after the miscarriage and how I went downhill with my mental illness.”

Concluded Catelynn upon revealing the news to the world: “We were using protection and everything and still got pregnant. This baby just wanted to be here. It was very unexpected.”

Josh & Anna Duggar Make Rare Public Appearance Together: See? We"re Totally Still Married!
Folks, no matter where you fall on the political spectrum, it’s been a difficult few weeks news-wise.
And now, we might all be forced to endure another public spectacle that no one asked for or expected …
We’re talking, of course, about a Josh Duggar comeback.
Yes, if you’re a Duggar aficionado you might have noticed a lot more Josh in your life lately.
And, like everything else the Duggars do, that’s 100 percent by design.
For years, there have been rumors of Jim Bob and Michelle helping their son to return to public life, and now it seems it’s actually happening.
Perhaps they’ve been emboldened by the current political climate, or perhaps they simply feel enough time has passed that fans will have forgotten the severity of Josh’s sex crimes.
Whatever the case, the effort to rebuild Josh’s public image and welcome him back into the Duggar media empire has begun in earnest.
It started with Josh appearing in several Duggar Facebook posts back in September.
It continued as Josh and Anna celebrated the 10-year anniversary of their engagement this month — as though that’s actually something people celebrate.
Those festivities prompted rumors that Josh and Anna’s marriage is a sham, as Anna appeared undeniably miserable in all of the accompanying pics.
So that was an unexpected bump in the road of Josh’s recovery, but Jim Bob is every bit the PR genius that Kris Jenner is, so he was well-prepared for the inevitable rumors that Josh and Anna are headed for divorce.
As In Touch Weekly reports, longtime Duggar family friend Josie Bates married Kelton Balka this week.
The Bates are reality “stars” in their own right (though not nearly as famous as the Duggars), so this qualified as a public event.
And that makes it the first time Josh and Anna have attended a non-family related public event since he was embroiled in multiple consecutive sex scandals back in 2015.
So you can bet it won’t be long before Josh starts making appearances on Counting On again.
Will Duggar fans turn their backs on the family in protest?
We’d like to think so, but something tells us that won’t be the case.

Duggar Clan to Amy: Congrats! We"re Letting You Back In the Family!
If you’re a diehard Duggar fan, you may have noticed the absence of “rebellious” cousin Amy in recent months.
That’s no accident, as sources say Amy was essentially kicked out of the family back in June.
Her famous cousins were banned from visiting her, and certain family members, like Jinger Duggar, even went so far as to unfollow Amy on Instagram.
“Amy is not allowed to talk about the Duggars anymore,” one insider told Radar online at the time.
“Amy went through her Instagram and had to delete all the pictures she had with her cousins.”
Explanations as to why Amy was exiled vary, but most are in agreement that the ultra-conservative Jim Bob simply didn’t approve of Amy’s slightly more liberal lifestyle.
But it seems that at some point in the past three weeks, Amy was somehow able to get back in Jim Bob’s good graces.
First, Jinger re-followed her cousin on Instagram, and now, the Duggars have chosen to acknowledge Amy’s birthday on Facebook.
Yes, the above photo was posted on the Duggars’ official Facebook page earlier this week, and while it may seem like a minor development, it’s actually a subtle way of sharing some very big news.
Until recently, Amy was, by her own admission, “out of the family.”
She was persona non grata at all Duggar gatherings, and as Jim Bob and company aren’t exactly big on forgiveness, it was widely assumed that it would stay that way.
But now, not only Amy been forgiven, it also looks as though she’s being embraced by her family.
The youngest Duggar daughters recently formed a singing group — called, of course, The Duggar Girls — and it seems Amy has been recruited to assist with their dreams of stardom.
So maybe Michelle reluctantly asked for Amy’s assistance since she’s the only person the Duggars know who actually lives in the 21st century?
We suppose that’s possible — but Michelle doesn’t do anything without Jim Bob’s approval.
So even though he’s not in this pic, you can bet JB signed off on the decision.
And if there’s ever a man who’s not keen on changing his mind, it’s Jim Bob — so you can bet Amy worked very hard to get back on his good side.

The Teen Mom OG fan favorite has been forced to deal with the nightmare of trying to keep her family safe from her increasingly troubled ex, Ryan Edwards, while at the same time ensuring that 9-year-old Bentley, her son with Edwards, continues to have a relationship with his father.
On top of being forced to file for a restraining order that temporarily prevented Edwards from contacting Bentley, Maci has grappled with some deeply painful setbacks in her efforts to expand her family.
Late last year, Bookout suffered a miscarriage, and she spoke about the painful ordeal in a memorable episode of TMOG.
But the tragedy hasn’t deterred Maci or her husband Taylor McKinney from working toward welcoming a new family member.
The McKinneys have been considering the possibility of adoption for several years, and this week, Maci gave a candid interview in which she revealed that they’re closer than ever to
“We are definitely still wanting to adopt. We don’t really have, like, a timeframe or, like, an exact answer,” Bookout told Us Weekly.
“I feel like when we know to start the process, we will start it, but for now we’re happy with where we’re at.”
Needless to say, fans were pleased to hear Maci speaking about her future with such excitement and optimism after such a difficult year.
Equally encouraging is the fact that Maci says she has every intention of working with Ryan and his parents in order to ensure that Bentley has as much support from the adults in his life as possible.
“I don’t think that there will ever come a time when we’re unable to co-parent with Jen and Larry,” she told Us.
“Mainly because we don’t let our feelings get in the way of what’s important and the relationships that are necessary for Bentley to have.
“It’s really just a matter of keeping the line of communication open and also making sure that we aren’t telling too much or giving too much of our feelings or opinions,” she said.
“It’s more about information, rather than speaking about his dad because at the end of the day, Ryan is still his dad.”
Asked how she and Taylor intend to approach the ongoing problem of Ryan, Maci had this to say:
“Neither one of us want to ever put some sort of barrier between the possibility of a better relationship when it comes to Ryan and Bentley.”
This is surely been one of the more challenging years of Maci’s life, but her attitude remains a silver lining amidst a number of dark clouds.

Bert and Ernie: Yup, We"re Gay!
For Bert and Ernie, it really is a sunny day.
At last, the clouds that have covered up their sexuality have been swept away and they can live a life of true freedom and personal expression.
Because the long-held belief by most Sesame Street viewers has finally been confirmed…
… Bert and Ernie are gay.
Shocking, right? Totally stunning, no?
Who ever would have thought such a thing about two males who sleep in the same room, play with the same rubber ducky and seemingly cannot go anywhere or do a single thing without having the other one around.
In an interview with Queerty, writer Mark Saltzman said he has often drawn upon his own experiences when telling the televised stories of Bert and Ernie.
A seven-time Emmy winner, Saltzman explains that he has always imagined the puppets as a “loving couple” and that he has based his take on them on his relationship with Arnold Glassman.
“I always felt that without a huge agenda, when I was writing Bert & Ernie, they were [gay],” he says, adding in this interview;
“I didn’t have any other way to contextualize them. The other thing was, more than one person referred to Arnie & I as ‘Bert & Ernie."”
Saltzman continued with this theme as follows:
“Arnie as a film editor — if you thought of Bert with a job in the world, wouldn’t that be perfect? Bert with his paper clips and organization? And I was the jokester,” he said.
“So it was the Bert and Ernie relationship, and I was already with Arnie when I came to Sesame Street.
“So I don’t think I’d know how else to write them, but as a loving couple. I wrote sketches … Arnie’s OCD would create friction with how chaotic I was. And that’s the Bert and Ernie dynamic.”
For the record, Saltzman did not create these puppets.
They made their debut on the children’s program in 1969 and Saltzman did not start writing for the series until 1985.
Back in 2011, Sesame Street responded to the question of Bert and Ernie’s sexual orientation by shooting down chatter that they were hooking up.
“Bert and Ernie are best friends,” Sesame Workshop said in a statement responding to a Change.org petition demanding the characters get married.
It added seven years ago:
“They were created to teach preschoolers that people can be good friends with those who are very different from themselves.
“Even though they are identified as male characters and possess many human traits and characteristics, they remain puppets, and do not have a sexual orientation.”
In June of 2013, however, The New Yorker used a photo of Bert and Ernie on its cover upon reporting that the Supreme Court had shot down a couple anti-gay marriage policies.
So the topic of whether Bert and Ernie were getting it on has always been a question within pop culture.
That question appears to have been answered now, leaving only two more Sesame Street-related inquiries to ponder:
- What gender is Big Bird?
- And why does Bert have one giant eyebrow, while Ernie has none?
