Breaking up with your boyfriend is the worst, obvi.
However, when your best friend and her boyfriend break up around the same time, that softens the blow a little.
A few days after Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris ended their relationship, Swift’s best friend, Gigi Hadid and former One Direction member Zayn Malik parted ways; the model and the musician had been dating for seven months.
“Gigi and Taylor are actually confiding in each other as best friends during this time,” a source told E!.
“They can really relate.”
Back in 2015, Hadid was one of several famous faces who starred in the music video for Swift’s single, “Bad Blood,” which was allegedly a dig at Swift’s nemesis, Katy Perry
“For [Swift] it was really a way to show that she supports her friends so much and that we support her back,” Hadid said at the time.
“We all took time out of our schedules to be there and she wanted to make us look hot and powerful. It was a big, amazing thing to be a part of.”
Swift has developed lasting relationships with several other celebs over the years, including Selena Gomez, Karlie Kloss, Jaime King and Lena Dunham.
“We want to be known as the group of girls that are known for our kindness, rather than our cattiness,” Hadid added.
Last night, Harris tweeted a brief explanation as to why he and Swift split, which was then retweeted by the singer herself.
“The only truth here is that a relationship came to an end & what remains is a huge amount of love and respect,” he wrote.
Malik and Hadid’s is a bit more complicated.
“They can likely get back together tomorrow,” a source told E!.
“It’s all very unclear what’s going on between them now. They been having some issues lately that involved communication and getting along.
“Gigi is really sad about this, though, and in a way would like to work it out,” the source added.
“It’s more about that constant contact with Zayn that she misses and they did get very close.
