Forbes magazine has released it"s list of the highest paid actors in 2016.
Dwayne Johnson took the top spot. It"s hardly surprising. The dude is in literally every action move right now.
It"s great for him because it means he"s getting the money, but he"s also a huge draw at the box office. There"s a good chance the Fast & Furious franchise wouldn"t have got that huge creative resurgence if it hadn"t been for him.
Johnson"s enemy, Vin Diesel had to settle much further down the list with almost half Johnson"s earnings.
There really aren"t that many surprises on the list.
Without further ado, here are the top 10 highest-paid actors:
1. Dwayne Johnson
Dwayne managed to take home $ 64.5 million dollars in 2016. That figure is more than double what he made last year. Also worth noting: Johnson was not even in the top 10 last year.
2. Jackie Chan
Jackie Chan earned $ 61 million. That’s up from the $ 50 million he earned last year, but he remains the second highest earner on the list.
3. Matt Damon
Looks like returning to the Bourne franchise was a good move for Damon, who vaulted up the chart with $ 55 million.
4. Tom Cruise
The Mission Impossible star managed to increase his earnings and ranking from last year. He raked in an impressive $ 53 million. Not bad for someone you never hear about.
5. Johnny Depp
Johnny surged up the list with $ 48 million in earnings. This probably doesn’t take into account the $ 7 million he gave to “charity.”
6. Ben Affleck
Even though Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice was critically panned, Ben still made a solid dollar from it. His earnings for 2016 were $ 43 million.
