Rihanna and Drake: Affectionate At VMA After Party, Totes In Love

They took their relationship public while on stage at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, so it was no surprise to learn that Rihanna and Drake didn’t hide their affection for each other after.

Drake presented his lady love with the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award, telling the audience that he’s been in love with Rihanna since he was 22.

After the show wrapped, according to Page Six, they had dinner at Carbone in Greenwich Village, then went to an after party at Up&Down nightclub thrown by her label, Roc Nation.

Sources told the gossip column that Drake and Rihanna “looking very much like a couple and very in love,” when they arrived at the party.

“They were holding hands and looked very affectionate,” the source added, noting that they stayed in a “private” section of the club, and left together.

Other guests at the party included Naomi Campbell, Tracee Ellis Ross, Chance the Rapper, The Chainsmokers, Kevin Spacey and magician David Blaine, who reportedly did magic tricks.

Back in May, Drake went on Ellen, and was asked about the status of his relationship with Rihanna.

Drake insisted they were “just friends,” and when a photo of he and Rihanna grinding on stage popped up, Drake had an appropriate response.

“That’s friendship at its finest.”

Fans have been waiting for Drake and Rihanna, who first met in 2005 on the set of her music video, “Pon De Replay,” to admit that they’re dating for quite some time now, so Sunday night was especially thrilling.

After throwing a Memorial Day party, Drake was seen going out to dinner with Hailey Baldwin, but nothing serious came of it.

In fact, he was still hung up on Rihanna.

Hailey was a fling, but Drake has always wanted to make things work with Rihanna,” a source told People earlier this summer.

“They have been keeping it a secret because this time around, they want to do it right and keep their relationship private.”
