Linda Thompson is kind a trooper, having endured a divorce from Caitlyn Jenner as she attempted to transition in the ’80s.
In her new memoir, A Little Thing Called Life, Thompson gave a rather scathing account of her marriage to music producer David Foster, who just divorced his fourth wife, Yolanda Hadid.
Thompson and Foster were married from 1991 to 2005, during which time Thompson deemed the Canadian native “jealous” and controlling,” according to Radar Online.
Foster hated the fact that Thompson was once in a serious relationship with Elvis Presley, which is kind of weird given Foster’s line of work.
“David was clearly threatened by Elvis’s ghost and never wanted me to mention him,” Thompson wrote.
Speaking of ex-boyfriends ex-husbands, Foster didn’t like Jenner being at their home, even though he had two sons with Thompson.
He “simply didn’t like Bruce being at the house as much as he was, even though his visits were brief,” she recalled.
Thompson was an actress and songwriter, but Foster preferred that she stay at home and make him dinner.
Though he has daughters, Foster, according to Thompson, had a very old, antiquated and unrealistic view of women.
“At times, he had an expectation that I was there to serve and take care of him, to make beds and do housework,” Thompson wrote.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills viewers saw this when Yolanda Foster made her debut on the franchise.
“I absolutely cater to my husband’s needs,” she said.
“And I love doing it. My husband is king in my house and I think that’s the way it should be. That’s what keeps two people together.“
Thompson knows exactly what the Dutch model was talking about.
“He really and truly wanted to be treated like a king, not like a husband or father, which speaks volumes about what he was like to live with, as lovable as he could be,” Thompson wrote.
Yolanda and David announced they were separating in December 2015 after four years of marriage. Yolanda is still battling Lyme disease.
