Shaun White Apologizes for "Insensitive" Halloween Costume

Shaun White can pull off a Double McTwist 1260 better than maybe anyone who has ever lived.

But the world famous snowboarder still needs help in the Halloween costume department.

On Monday evening, the athlete expressed regret and issued a mea culpa after dressing up this week as Simple Jack, Ben Stiller’s disabled character in the 2008 comedy Tropic Thunder.

The three-time Olympic gold medalist shared his outfit (below) on Instagram prior to making his statementm drawing a harsh rebuke from The Special Olympics in the process.

“We are truly disappointed that Shaun White, an acclaimed Olympian, would choose this costume which is so offensive and causes so much pain,” one of the organization’s cofounders, Soeren Palumbo, said.

Speaking to The Huffington Post, he added:

“Disability is not a joke nor should it be a punchline.

“We hope that Shaun White and others learn that this just continues stigma, stereotypes and discrimination.”

The image has since been deleted and White has now said the following in response to the backlash:

I owe everyone in the Special Olympics community an apology for my poor choice of Halloween costume the other night.

It was a last minute decision. It was the wrong one.

The Special Olympics were right to call me out on it. They do great work supporting so many athletes and I am sorry for being insensitive.

Lesson learned.

Upon its release, once the depiction of Still’s controversial character was viewed by the public, Tropic Thunder was widely criticized and even boycotted by disability advocacy groups.

The movie repeatedly and excessively used the R-word to describe Stiller’s character.

In a statement to The New York Times in 2008, a spokesperson for DreamWorks Pictures said the film “satirizes Hollywood and its excesses and makes its point by featuring inappropriate and over-the-top characters in ridiculous situations.”

The company added that it did not intend to “disparage or harm the image of individuals with disabilities.”

This is a photo of Stiller in the role:

In this case, however, it looks like White’s scandal will be short-lived.

He acknowledged the mistake he made in dressing as Simple Jack and the Special Olympics then replied in appreciation.

“Thank you @shaunwhite for listening to our community.

“You always have an invitation to shred with our athletes at #XGames Aspen!” the organization wrote on Twitter.

Do you think White should have apologized in the first place?

Khloe Kardashian Hurls Insensitive Slurs on Instagram, Gets Schooled By Fans

Well, let no one say that Khloe Kardashian isn’t big enough to admit when she’s made a mistake.

Of course, her latest blunder is the sort of mistake that Khloe really shouldn’t be making in 2018 …

Over the weekend, Khloe posted an Instagram story and quickly caught a lot of flak for using some offensive language.

The short video clip shows Khloe helping her sister Kourtney configure her smartphone before her workout.

“Yes, you can, you f-cking r-tard,” Kourtney was heard saying off-camera.

“Are you f-cking r-tarded?” Khloe replied.

Yes, Kourtney and Khloe both casually tossed out slurs, but since the clip was posted to Khloe’s Insgaram, the majority of the criticism was directed at her.

Khloe quickly deleted the story, but not before many fans took note of the offensive faux pas.

One fan went straight to Twitter to call Khloe out directly.

“I was watching your livestream on Instagram until you said the “r” word,” the follower wrote.

“You should pay more attention to your word choices especially since you have a huge following&don’t know who you could be offending.”

The fan concluded the tweet with a poignant reminder that as a new mom, Khloe should demonsgtrate greater sensitivity.

“If True had a disability you would use a different word,” she tweeted.

Thankfully, Khloe was quick to respond and fully agreed with the fan’s assessmemt.

“Ugh I hate that word! Why did I even say that?” she wrote.

“You are a million percent right and I actually greatly dislike when people use that word! I will do better! I am sorry! much love today.”

Yes, Khloe messed up pretty bad, but her apology is basically a master class in how to express remorse without making excuses.

She simply admitted that she was wrong and promised to try and do better in the future.

Of course, we probably shouldn’t be surprised that she’s so skilled in this regard.

Khloe has been hearing so many apologies lately that we suppose it makes sense she’s gotten so good at delivering them herself.

NOFX Admits Vegas Massacre Joke Was "S****y and Insensitive"

NOFX is working their way up to an apology for saying at least it was only country fans killed in the Las Vegas massacre — but, for now, they’re just admitting what they said was real shitty. We’re guessing frontman “Fat Mike” wrote the message…

Jenelle Evans SLAMMED For Insensitive School Shooting Tweet!

Jenelle Evans is generally about as sensitive as a bag of hammers.

We’ve known this for years, but it seems she’s still capable of shocking fans with the depth of her ignorance.

As you’ve no doubt heard, a school shooting in Florida left 17 dead yesterday.

Which is why many fans are baffled by the timing of the Instagram post above.

To be fair, the photo was posted by Jenelle’s husband, David Eason.

But since Jenelle is the one who’s been famous for over a decade, many feel she should be the one to realize it’s a bad time for a gun-glorifying tweet.

“My babes a bad ass babe! Happy Valentine’s day! #targetpractice #valentinesday #safetyfirst,” Eason captioned the pic.

Needless to say, the image didn’t go over well:

“Shooting guns … just after a shooting in Florida,” one fan tweeted in response. “Good timing.”

“I love y’all but come on!!!!!!! 17 KIDS KILLED TODAY IN A SCHOOL SHOOTING AND THIS IS WHAT YOU POST???!!!” another commented.

“Pro gun/anti gun, this is insensitive at best.”

“This is so insensitive. I’m blown away by how clueless you are,” remarked a third.

Eason has deleted all the comments on the photo, but not the photo itself.

In response to the controversy, Jenelle tweeted, “Bad timing.”

Social media controversies are not uncommon for Jenelle, but it seems she doesn’t realize that this case is more severe than most.

On Twitter, fans have begged her and David to remove the photo out of respect to the children who lost their lves and their families.

For reasons that defy explanation, the couple refuses to budge on this issue.

Some have slammed the couple for what appears to be a total lack of concern for grieving families.

Others have argues that with Jenelle’s criminal history she shouldn’t even be allowed to possess a firearm.

And some have simply pleaded with the Easons to demonstrate some common sense:

“Remove the pictures from social media and keep them for you guys, privacy is a wonderful thing sometimes,” tweeted one fan.

“The memories will still be there whether other people know about them or not.

Makes perfect sense – but if there’s one thing the Easons have never been persuaded by, it’s good sense.

Watch Teen Mom 2 online for more idiocy from Jenelle and David.

Rob Lowes CRUSHES Bella Thorne Over Insensitive Mudslide Tweet

Rob Lowe tried to teach Bella Thorne a valuable lesson via social media on Thursday.

And the lesson was this:

Holy Hell, you spoiled woman! Do you not realize the world doesn’t revolve around you and that there are things more important going on than the state of your relationship?!?

rob/bella

More or less, that is.

The unexpected feud between actor and actress centered on Thorne’s response to the ongoing mudslides in Montecito, California.

This tragic incident has claimed the lives of at least 17 people… others are missing … and countless more are without homes.

It’s a horribly sad development.

In the wake of this terrible news, Thorne Tweeted on January 10 that she was pissed because a road was closed and this ruined her plans for the evening.

“F-ck u 101 to santa barbra. I’m missing my boyfriends first date on his tour,” Tweeted Thorne, referring to the new man in her life, some musician named Mod Sun.

Check out the questionable/ridiculous/insanely insensitive message below:

thorne tweet

The Tweet drew the ire of many Internet users who called Thorne out for what would have to be called ignorance at best – and complete self-centeredness at worst.

“I’m so sorry that you’ve been inconvenienced by the 17 people that have lost their lives. This must be tough for you,” wrote one sarcastic critic.

Added another resident:

“Santa Barbra apologizes for the inconvenience, next time we’ll plan our natural disasters according to your social schedule.”

slamming bella

The response that has received the most attention, however, came from the Instagram account of Lowe.

A veteran star of The West Wing, Parks and Recreation and The Grinder, Lowe was not having any of Thorne’s narcissistic bull crap.

Quoting her Tweet on his social media page, Lowe held Thorne up as an example of why celebrities are considered so out of touch.

“This attitude is why people hate celebrities/Hollywood,” wrote Rob, a Montecito resident, alongside a screenshot of Bella’s tweet.

He added:

“Bella, I’m sorry you were inconvenienced. We will try to move out our dead quicker.”

A day earlier, Lowe had updated fans on the dire situation, saying:

“Mourning the dead in our little town tonight. Praying for the survivors and preparing for whatever may come. #Montecito.”

Thorne did eventually learn the reason for the road closure that set her off, Tweeting later in the night:

“F-ck just caught up on some news, had no idea why the 101 was shut down… get home to your family safe.”

This is better than if Bella knew exactly why the road was closed and still acted all pissed off, we presume.

BT tweet

But the mudslides have been a prominent topic for days.

Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres even FaceTimed about the fatalities on the latter’s talk show this week.

“This is how deep the mud is,” said Oprah, sharing a video of the damage and adding:

“And the house in back is gone. What a day! Praying for our community again in Santa Barbara.”

So even if Thorne really was unaware of the issue at the center of all this, it barely absolves her.

It just shows how wrapped up she is in her own universe, as compared to what has been taking place right outside her doorstep.

Melissa Joan Hart SLAMMED for Insensitive Hurricane Remarks!

Melissa Joan Hart has people riled up again, and this time, it’s for more than just complaining about the Kardashians on 9/11.

You know how the Atlantic is spawning huge, deadly hurricanes in rapid succession? Melissa Joan Hart posted about one of them in a way that many of her followers found to be painfully insensitive.

It was bad enough that she deleted it. … That was the right call.

Back in the ’90s, Melissa Joan Hart was one of the most famous faces out there.

Even before she was starring in movies, she dealt out life lessons on Clarissa Explains It All.

She was and remains best known for her starring role on Sabrina The Teenage Witch.

It was the keystone of ABC Family’s “TGIF” lineup, a couple of decades before the network became Freeform.

(By the way, they’re doing a new Sabrina show — as a spinoff of Riverdale. They just announced it today and I’m super excited)

I fondly remember watching Sabrina as one of the rare times when my parents would let us eat in front of the television like real people instead of enduring family conversations.

Since then, most of the cast have faded into relative obscurity (or voice acting).

The woman who played Aunt Zelda now shows up as the bad guy on various crime shows (NCIS, The Closer, Castle, etc).

As for Melissa Joan Hart? She shows up on camera sometimes, but these days she’s mostly just a mom. And she’s not usually controversial.

But this time, she absolutely was.

In a now-deleted Instagram post, Melissa Joan Hart posted a photo of a weather report that read:

“Maria has officially made landfall on the Caribbean island of Dominica as a Category 5 hurricane.”

A lot of us have been following the news of yet another massive, powerful storm developing in the Atlantic during such a short time.

In Melissa Joan Hart’s case, she had a personal motive for keeping her eye on the weather.

What brought on the backlash was her caption:

“And just like that, our family vacation is canceled. Such a bummer but we plan to hit the @nickresortpuntacana resort another time this year.”

That is, admittedly, an insensitive response to the news of such a devastating storm.

Comments were, as you can imagine, mixed.

Among them were supporters, detractors, and people with more nuanced views.

“I think you should be more concerned with the people that live there instead of your meaningless vacation.”

See, that one has such a hostile tone. They could have said that one without “meaningless,” you know?

“Wow…”

That one’s honest. (My first thought when I read her caption was “whoa”)

“Better safe than sorry. We do not want anything to happen to you or your family.”

That one’s a gentle way of reminding her that Category 5 storms routinely kill people.

And then she had her defenders.

“Calm down people, she can be a caring person and disappointed at the same time. It’s called being human.”

People can care about lots of things at once. Feeling frustrated that my dinner hasn’t arrived yet doesn’t mean that you don’t care about, like, world hunger or whatever.

Melissa Joan Hart definitely did the right thing by deleting the post, though.

To be fair, Melissa Joan Hart has stirred up controversy before.

She leans conservative — she even costarred with Sadie Robertson of Duck Dynasty in the film, God’s Not Dead 2.

She also backed Gary Johnson in 2016, which … was arguably the least favorable year to be one of the celebrities endorsing a third-party candidate, considering the consequences.

But none of that is, like, dire stuff. She’s a far cry from James Woods or worse.

And again, her usual response to news of disasters is to link to charitable options and to offer up her prayers for the victims.

This was, we think, just a mildly insensitive post to update people on her life.

Olivia Newton-John: Daughter Slammed for Insensitive Pics After Cancer Diagnosis!

We’ve all heard the sad news about Olivia Newton-John’s breast cancer diagnosis, and while we all know how hard that must be for her daughter, Chloe Lattanzi, some people are looking to make it worse.

It seems that Chloe can’t even use social media without getting blasted by misguided “fans.”

The vitriol that she’s received in Instagram comments was so bad … she’s taking a break from social media.

Chloe’s “crime?” Posting pictures of herself living her life and being a person and, gasp, smiling.

You know, being a person. Which is certainly what her mother wants.

But the backlash that she got in the comments — that she shouldn’t show herself doing anything but mourning her mother’s diagnosis — was enough to make her want to step back from the photo-sharing app.

“Some woman commented that I couldn’t post happy pictures of myself because of what my mother is going through. I am so sad and no one has any idea what I am going through,” she wrote.

“I don’t want my life to be public and this [is] the greatest struggle a daughter could go through. And the last thing I need is someone telling me that I can’t distract myself and post normal creative pics on my Instagram.”

Chloe is 31. She’s made some plastic surgery mistakes in the past, but she’s a grown-ass adult.

We’re sure that she’s acutely aware of the weight of her mother’s diagnosis.

She still has to live her life. That’s the most important thing for her to do for her own well-being.

Unless you’re caring for a child, anything else just leads to an unhealthy mindset and resentment.

We can’t imagine that Olivia Newton-John wants her daughter to mope around thinking about cancer at literally all times.

And we don’t have to imagine, because Chloe shared exactly what her mother wants.

“My mom is fine and the one thing she told me is to keep being creative positive and take my mind off anything negative (sic). My mom and I are humans and unfortunately my mother’s cancer has to be everyone’s buisness (sic).”

She really lets the world know how she feels.

“You could never imagine how much we just want to be alone. And not have to deal with the world’s opinions of how we deal with this. I’m going to leave my Instagram for a while. Not. Because Im (sic) ashamed that I posted a pic that wasn’t to do with my mom, but because I’m angry.”

Who wouldn’t be angry?

“Angry that there are such incredibly insensitive assholes out there making me feel ashamed of trying to feel normal.”

And then, after expressing optimism that her mom will beat this, she bids farewell to Instagram.

“Good bye for a while.”

That’s a fair response.

It’s hard to imagine why anyone would want to compound a tragic diagnosis by giving someone’s daughter a hard time just for living her life and trying to steal little moments of happiness.

We’re hoping for the best in Olivia Newton-John’s battle with cancer.

We’re also hoping that humanity, as a collective, becomes a little kinder. Geez.

Kim Kardashian: SLAMMED for Insensitive Flu Joke

Kim Kardashian is both under the weather and under fire at the moment.

The reality star apparently has a case of the flu, but instead of garnering sympathy from her legion of social media followers, Kardashian has garnered a solid dose of outrage.

All due to a single Tweet.

“The flu can be an amazing diet. So happy it came in time for the Met,” Kardashian wrote of her unexpected, illness-based slimdown, just weeks prior to the 2017 Met Gala in New York City on Monday, May 1.

She then added: “lol #6lbsdown.”

Many followers were not laughing out loud, however.

They were aghast that Kim would joke about something as potentially dangerous as the influenza virus.

“Now imagine saying that to your daughter after she gets sick…” one peeved user wrote, while another fumed:

“It sends dangerous messages & supports not being healthy as a valid weight loss technique. But I wonder why eating disorders are so common…”

Kardashian has since deleted the Tweet, but not before it was widely viewed by critics on the Web.

Other harsh responses to the mesage have included:

  • People also die from the flu…but glad you feeling better.

  • You’re aware of the amount of people that follow you/are inspired by you, right? lots of them being impressionable young people?

  • You’re promoting weight loss in spite of health to thousands of impressionable people who take you very seriously.

  • yes those people who died of flu just looked fab in their coffins! #onpoint.

  • maybe don’t glamorize sickness for weight loss.

Look: Do people die from the flu? Yes.

Do most people die from the flu? No.

Does Kim Kardashian often say and do dumb stuff that make us question whether she realizes the impact she has on young girls? Absolutely.

But where’s the outage when Kim and her sisters waist train? There’s an example of something Kim is directly, specifically promoting to her fans… and something that is wholly unhealthy and ridiculous.

This, however?

As much we typically love to pile on the anti-Kim Kardashian train, we just can’t muster up any real anger over what Kim clearly meant to be a joke.

At least she’s trying, right?

The quips and zingers typically fall to Khloe Kardashian, the one sister with an actual personality and sense of humor.

We’re just glad to see Kim attempting to act in any way that isn’t over-rehearsed, scripted and wooden. And we don’t appear to be alone.

“I’m in love with the fact that people don’t understand your humor. It’s shallow humor, but still… this is a joke people.” wrote one fan, while another also showed her support as follows:

“For God sakes people relax, it was a joke, Kim, hope you feel better soon, sending you love and well wishes from Canada.”

Kardashian, of course, has obsessed over her weight ever since she became famous.

Lasrt July, seven months after giving birth, she gushed over her figure to E! News.

“I’m definitely to my goal weight. I’m down more than I expected,” the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star said at the time, giving credit to a certain strategy and company by adding:

“The Atkins diet was so easy for me because there’s so many sweets and treats that keep you satisfied along the way. I think with the help of all of that it’s been super easy.”

What do YOU think of Kim’s Tweet?

Did it deserve these kind of replies?

Ivanka Trump on Insensitive Instagram Pic: Oops! My Bad!

According to at least one supposedly reliable source, Ivanka Trump is unlike her father in a rather important and mature way:

She can admit when she’s wrong.

And this source tells Us Weekly that the First Daughter is well aware she messed up on Saturday by posting a certain image to her Instagram account.

The 35-year old came under fire over the weekend after sharing a photo of herself in a silver Carolina Herrera gown on her various social media account.

The picture was snapped while Trump was attending the annual Alfalfa Club dinner.

And while this could have typically been shrugged off as just another example of Trump flaunting her wealth, good looks and status online for all to see… well…

… Saturday was not exactly a typical day across the nation Ivanka’s dad now rules.

In response to President Trump’s Executive Order that banned refugee access to the United States from seven predominantly Muslim countries, thousands of protestors took to airports around the country.

There were gatherings held in support of immigrants in Chicago, Nashville, Los Angeles and New York, to name just a few cities.

So many critics considered it rather tone-deaf of Ivanka to not only NOT mention these protests online, but to post a photo that depicted her luxurious lifestyle for all to see.

And Trump reportedly understands this viewpoint.

A source familiar with the situation told Vanity Fair today that Trump “feels terrible about the post, and does not want something like this to happen again.”

She has not deleted the post, but this sort of recognition is a good start.

A second insider, meanwhile, told the news outlet that although the post showed her “naiveté in not understanding her surroundings or circumstances,” Ivanka “can adjust her behavior accordingly, and she’s open to that.”

And then there’s a third source, who actually says Trump had no idea any sort of protests were even going on throughout the country.

How is this possible?

Because, according to this report, Ivanka and her husband were in the middle of observing Shabbat.

Both halve of couple are Orthodox Jews, meaning they don’t use technology or do any work between sundown Friday and sundown Saturday.

Could they truly have not known about Trump’s Muslim ban and the subsequent outrage? And then Ivanka Tweeted the controversial photo above after sundown on Saturday, but before checking the news?

It’s possible, we suppose.

But we still can’t blame those who fired back with insults, quips and comments such as the one below:

Ivanka slam

Kushner is, somehow, a close advisor to President Trump.

Ivanka, conversely, does not official role in her father’s administration, but she stuck closely by his side throughout the 2016 presidential campaign and has moved her family to DC since he won the election.

She has not made a public comment about the Women’s March held on January 21 or about the protests in response to her father’s Executive Order last Friday.

A source close to the Ivanka told Us Weekly last week that her dad “looks to Ivanka for advice and consultation on almost everything.” Which is a scary prospect, if you think about.

Then again… Donald talking to Steve Bannon about almost everything is A LOT scarier.

Ivanka Trump Slammed for Sharing Insensitive Photo Amidst Protests!

In what will come as a complete and total shock to absolutely no one, Ivanka Trump has found herself in some hot water for being completely and totally insensitive and tone-deaf.

Hey, it’s basically the family business at this point, right?

Ivanka, who once sat atop her giant pile of money and advised others to take unpaid internships and “make it work,” shared this photo on Saturday night:

So that’s Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, all dressed up and ready to go to some fancy gala on Saturday night.

And that’s fine, right? Sometimes the president’s daughter will do that sort of thing.

But the issue is that she shared this photo right at the time when thousands upon thousands of people were gathering to protest Donald Trump’s now infamous Muslim Ban.

And to flaunt her wealth, her comfort, and her privilege while others were unfairly being denied entry into the country … it just didn’t sit well with a lot of people.

As always, those people took to the comments to make their outrage known.

“This is disgusting,” one person wrote. “Are you for real? Is this a joke?”

Because one of the issues with this photo, as one person points out, is that Ivanka is “Looking good in the Capitol City while others are fleeing for their lives to our great country. Only to be blocked by your father.”

“You are having fun while a five year old got detained and separated from his mother because of your crazy father,” another added. “You are not a human. You are a monster.”

Another issue, according to yet another commenter, is that “You have so much influence over your father’s decisions, yet instead of taking action, you post Instagram pics.”

“So disappointed in your insensitivity,” another wrote. “You should know better. Post pics of your amazing life all you want but not during such a heartbreaking time for so many. It makes you appear totally disconnected and even callous.”

Others (seriously, a lot of people were pissed) took issue with Ivanka’s dress. Not because it was surely stupidly expensive, but because it just doesn’t look all that great.

“Your dress is almost as tacky as you,” wrote one fashion critic, while countless others compared the dress to aluminum foil, duct tape, or garbage bags.

But while so many people had problems with the photo, several were quick to quick to compliment her.

“Beautiful — hope you enjoy a great evening out you deserve it! You are all doing a wonderful job!” wrote one clearly delusional Instagram user.

Others offered some pretty great backhanded compliments, like “Wow. You look great. You’re the spawn of a bigot.”

At the end of the day, yes, it was remarkably insensitive for Ivanka to share a photo like that during a time like this.

But she’s never going to understand that. So save your outrage, friends, for whatever the president does next.

The View Apologizies for Insensitive Eating Disorder Jokes

Hmmm… perhaps NeNe Leakes was right about the women on The View.

The reality star labeled Joy Behar and company a bunch of “mean girls” this week… and then Joy Behar and company went out and showed why this may be an accurate assessment.

After discussing how both Donald Trump and Ben Carson both said they’ve lost weight while campaigning to be President, Behar, Michelle Collins and Paula Faris started joking around about who’s fat… who’s thin… and whether or not it’s an insult to be called “skinny.”

The conversation was relatively harmless enough.

Until it wasn’t.

Following a commercial break, Behar said the following:

“We were just discussing whether it’s better to become bulimic or anorexic backstage. What do you girls think?”

Collins then replied “definitely bulimic [because] you get to enjoy the meal” and then proceeded to single out a woman off-camera.

“She’s nodding. We have two bulimics here. They agree,” Collins added.

It didn’t take long, as you might imagine, for viewers to hop on Twitter and excoriate the women for their insensitive remarks.

This prompted Behar to make a half-hearted apology upon returning from another commercial break.

“We upset some people. We understand that bulimia is a serious illness. We’re just trying to have some fun over here,” she said.

After Whoopi Goldberg chimed in and said they don’t “mean to offend” anyone, Behar concluded:

“We don’t do it on purpose.”

It’s a pretty rare thing for ignorance to be a worthwhile excuse, Joy. But you keep telling yourself that.

Also, try to actually be funny the next time you want to be insensitive. That helps.

Rob Lowe: Slammed for Insensitive Paris Attack Tweet

In the immediate aftermath of terrorists coordinating multiple attacks in Paris on Friday night, killing over 120 people in the process, countless celebrities took to Twitter and sent along their prayers and well wishes.

But not Rob Lowe.

The actor, who currently stars on Fox sitcom The Grinder, took a far more controversial approach to the heinous killings.

“Oh, NOW France closes its borders,” Lowe Tweeted yesterday, adding the hashtag #Hollande as a reference to French president Francois Hollande.

The politician declared a state of emergency and closed off his country’s borders in the wake of the ongoing massacre on Friday.

Lowe later added, regarding Hollande’s speech:

“This is either the worst translation of an important speech ever, or one of the worst ever given.”

In a televised address to the country, Hollande (who was evacuated at halftime of a soccer match after explosions went off nearby) said:

“As I speak, terrorist attacks of unprecedented proportions are underway in the Paris area. There are dozens killed, there are many injured. It is a horror

“What the terrorists want is to scare us and fill us with dread. There is indeed reason to be afraid.

“There is dread, but in the face of this dread, there is a nation that knows how to defend itself, that knows how to mobilize its forces and, once again, will defeat the terrorists.”

After receiving considerable backlash for his insensitive message, Lowe eventually asked people not to “misinterpret” his words and offered a quasi apology:

“Lived in France, and spend a ton of time there. Been in that stadium. This is all so devastatingly sad for a place I love.”

On a related note, Khloe Kardashian sent out a Tweet that promoted her website last night, but then jumped online to explain.

“I am sorry!” she wrote. “This tweet was a preschedule tweet that I arranged. I turned off the scheduled tweet but somehow it posted anyways. I’m sorry.”
