Kailyn Lowry Helps Raise Money for Puerto Rico: Exclusive Details!
Kailyn Lowry is, for whatever reason, one of the most hated of all the Teen Moms.
Which is weird, because when was the last time you saw one of the moms put in so much work for such an important cause?
Over the weekend, Kailyn, along with Jo Rivera and Vee Torres, hosted an event to raise money for Puerto Rico, which is still suffering after the devastation of Hurricane Maria.
And the details are just so very, very touching …
1. Hurricane Maria
In September, Hurricane Maria caused an unprecedented amount of damage in Puerto Rico. Dozens of people were killed, and dozens more are still missing. Even now, much of the island is left without power and clean water.
2. Teen Moms Help Out
Shortly after the hurricane, Kailyn and Teen Mom OG star Catelynn Lowell began working on fundraising ideas — they even asked their social media followers for help in chartering a ship or a plane to deliver supplies to Puerto Rico!
3. A Plan
After a bit of planning, Kailyn announced what she’d come up with: she would team up with her ex, Jo Rivera, and his fiancée, Vee Torres, to host a fundraiser!
4. Teamwork!
Kailyn, Jo, and Vee held their fundraiser on Saturday night in Bloomfield, New Jersey — look how great they all look together!
5. $ $ $
Guests could make a $ 50 donation ahead of the gala, or they could pay $ 60 at the door. A portion of that money went towards Americares, a non-profit disaster relief organization that’s working in Puerto Rico right now. The rest of the money went towards their next fundraiser — more on that in a moment!
6. The Details!
Kailyn exclusively spoke to us about the event, explaining how it went and why it was important to her. “Catelynn and I really wanted to come up with a relief fund after what happened in Puerto Rico,” she explained. “Since Jo’s family resides in Puerto Rico, we had to reach out to him and see what they needed and what we could do to help.”

Mel B: I Need More Money for My Divorce!
Divorce is complicated. It might be the best marital decision that some people will make in their entire lives, but it’s also massively stressful.
Oh … and it can be an incredibly expensive process.
Mel B is getting divorced, and it looks like she’s trying to recoup her expenses … by demanding a $ 400,000 raise at America’s Got Talent.
Mel B’s divorce from Stephen Belafonte has been a long time coming.
Back in 2014, fans noticed signs of abuse on Mel B.
At the time, she was very defensive of her husband. As the world is all too aware, this is a common response from people who are being abused.
However, since Mel B and Stephen Belafonte announced their divorce in March of 2017, the TV personality and Spice Girl has come forward.
Mel B now alleges that Stephen Belafonte abused her during their marriage, and even blackmailed her with a sex tape.
(In fact, Mel B says that she can prove that the blackmail tapes exist)
Further details came out, including allegations that Stephen Belafonte brought the couple’s nanny into their relationship … for seven years.
There’s a whole lot to that, including conflicting accounts of what was going on with the nanny.
We’re just glad that Mel B is getting out of that toxic marriage.
But, like we said, as wonderful as divorce can be in terms of being a step towards improving a person’s life, it can also be super expensive.
There’s more to it than dividing assets and paying lawyers, by the way.
Reportedly, Mel B is reluctant to pay Stephen Belafonte spousal support.
Stephen Belafonte — who has a job of his own, by the way — was apparently asking for $ 4,300 per month to spend on basic necessities.
$ 4,300 a month would be a normal amount for, say, a person’s salary.
Whose grocery bills look like that, though?
We’d say that the average person probably spends less than $ 1000 per month on groceries, right? Even if you’re ordering delivery for most of your meals, you’re not going to rack up $ 4,300 in a single month.
And we did the math — if he’s spending $ 4,300 a month on groceries, he’s spending upwards of $ 140 per day.
Maybe Stephen Belafonte is three-to-four grown men in a trench coat?
Point is, every bit of this — Belafonte’s demands, Mel B fighting them in court, and the division of their shared property — amounts to a lot of expenses, even for a rich person.
It’s worth noting that Stephen Belafonte is accused of having blown through $ 30 million of Mel B’s fortune while controlling all of her financial decisions and assets during their marriage.
According to The Sunday People, which is a British tabloid newspaper and only sounds like the name of a horror film, Mel B is demanding a raise at America’s Got Talent.
America’s Got Talent is a talent competition that, based upon its title, is designed to frustrate people who are enthusiastic about the English language.
(Why not simply America HAS Talent? It’s so much simpler and doesn’t make anyone’s eye twitch)
Back in 2013, Mel B joined the panel of judges during the show’s eighth season. (Yeah, these shows go on forever)
Well, Mel B’s reported request for a raise is to the tune of $ 400,000, which would bring her total salary to $ 2.2 million.
According to The Sunday People‘s source, “Mel feels that she is in a very strong position to wrangle a pay rise from Simon.”
(Simon being Simon Cowell, who runs things as well as judging. And “pay rise” is just British nonsense for a pay raise)
“She was an integral part of the show’s success, with so much being written about her life and then talked about after the broadcasts.”
That sounds fairly accurate.
“Not only did her talent pick win the series, but she and Simon dominated the show’s dramatic moments.”
That is also true. (You might remember Mel B’s on-air spat with Simon Cowell from back in August)
Honestly?
If the show can afford it, that doesn’t sound unreasonable.
Sure, most of us can’t demand a $ 400,000 raise without getting laughed out of the office.
But Mel B is a Spice Girl, dang it. It’s kind of shocking that she’s making as little per year as she is.
Look at it this way — Katy Perry is getting paid $ 25 million a year for being a judge on the American Idol revival that no one wanted or asked for.
What Mel B, who is actually likable and part of one of the most iconic music groups of all time, is asking for is less than a tenth of that.
And, unlike Katy Perry, Mel B actually knows how to be an entertaining judge without being a total flop.
Pay up, Simon Cowell.

The ultimate momager looks like the cat who ate the canary, and not without cause.
In the video below, Kris Jenner is talking about where Kylie Cosmetics is going in the future, how Kylie manages it all, and the ludicrous amount of money that her daughter"s company has made in just 18 months.
And, at the same time, she"s giving us some insight into how she found comfort despite Kylie"s teen pregnancy.
If Kris Jenner were a cartoon character, her eyes would have become dollar signs several times during this interview.
"Maternal pride" doesn"t even begin to describe what the momager is clearly feeling in this video.
See, Kylie Jenner just entered the makeup business, what … two years ago?
Overnight, she became a makeup mogul.
Whenever she puts out products, they sell out. Pretty much immediately.
According to projections, the teen tycoon"s business, Kylie Cosmetics, will be worth a billion dollars within five years.
But … how much has the company already made?
Kris Jenner has revealed that her youngest daughter"s company has made $ 420 million.
(Blaze it?)
All in just her first 18 months of operating.
The vast majority of people on Earth won"t make 1% of that during their entire lifetimes.
In fact, it"s more standard for someone to make, what, one five-thousandth of that in that amount of time.
Kris looks pleased as punch about the whole thing, because of course she does.
One, she"s proud of her daughter — her youngest, in fact — for maximizing her social media influence and then so effectively transforming that into financial success.
Two, she"s manager to all of her children, right? So … we"d imagine that she gets a cut. She doesn"t say that, but … we wouldn"t be surprised.
Kris Jenner teases the idea that Kylie might one day look for a business partnership with a major brand.
But right now, it"s all Kylie"s money propping it up. No investors means that Kylie"s in control.
(With some advice from momager dearest, of course)
Kris also talks about where she imagines that Kylie Cosmetics might go in the future.
"The goal in the future is to just build the whole infrastructure, and figure out what a retail model might look like that could take it globally."
So it"s all about world domination, basically.
She mentions that getting into the Middle Eastern market would be a goal. Potentially.
But Kris emphasizes that Kylie has a wealth of options.
"She’s just scratched the surface and there is so much more to do with the brand."
We"d say so.
So, what insight does all of this lend us to how Kris Jenner made peace with Kylie getting knocked up by a rebound guy at 19?
Simple. We imagine that Kris just looked at the big picture.
As long as Kylie is raking in the big bucks — the biggest possible bucks — with the power of her brand and with her makeup empire, does Kris really care what she does?
You know how there are some parents who don"t assign a curfew so long as their teenager isn"t getting into trouble and is still a straight A student?
Well, the momager equivalent of that is not caring about your daughter"s "questionable" life decisions if her business empire is dominating the market.
That"s our guess, of course — Kris" private thoughts are, well, private.

Derick Dillard Net Worth: Where Does Jill Duggar"s Husband Get His Money?
In recent months, Derick Dillard has distinguished himself from the growing horde of Duggar in-laws by expressing his controversial views on social media.
It’s a habit his famous in-laws probably wish he would break, but unfortunately for Jill Duggar and his parents, Derick seems to be enjoying all the attention.
Derick’s career as a Twitter firebrand began back in April when he launched a bizarre attack on Jazz Jennings, a transgender teen, who like Derick, is the star of a TLC reality series.
“What an oxymoron… a ‘reality’ show which follows a non-reality. ‘Transgender’ is a myth. Gender is not fluid; it’s ordained by God,” Dillard tweeted.
Many wondered what would possess Derick to so viciously harangue a 16-year-old while simultaneously biting the hand that feeds him by angering TLC execs.
They got the answer a few days later when Derick launched a fundraiser in order to pay for his enrollment at in a Duggar-sponsored ministry program.
It wasn’t the first time Derick had openly begged for money from fans, and he was harshly criticized for launching his fundraiser the day after Hurricane Harvey hit Houston.
Just like the last time (when the Dillards requested funds for their unlicensed missionary work in El Salvador), Derick’s shameless cash-grab was quickly shut down by the fundraising site through which he chose to host it.
Derick’s apparent desperation for money has led fans to wonder how the 28-year-old earns a living.
The simple answer seems to be that he doesn’t, and Jill supports the family through her television earnings.
Aside from a brief stint as a substitute teached following the Dillards return to the States several months ago, Derick has not held down any sort of employment since he and Jill got married back in 2014.
He’s still asking for donations from fans, but now he’s doing it through he and Jill’s personal website, presumably in order to avoid another humiliating terms of service violation.
Visitors to the site are asked to sign up to donate a monthly sum of $ 15 to Jill and Derick, but nowhere does the couple specify how the money will be used.
Fans have expressed their confusion over the continued donation requests, as Jill and Derick don’t appear to be hard-up for cash.
Just this week, in fact, the couple traveled to Washington, D.C. for the Values Voter Summit, a gathering of evangelical conservatives at which Donald Trump made an appearance earlier this week.
“Visited the US Supreme Court today! We almost made it inside to observe oral argument for a case, but we didn’t get there quite early enough,” Dillard captioned the above photo.
Speaking of Trump, Derick officially became the first member of the extended Duggar clan to openly support the president, with the photo below:
“Some pretty incredible merchandise at the White House gift shop everybody should checkout!” Derick captioned the image.
Many followers were quick to point out the irony of a father of two without a cent to his name (not counting, of course, his wife’s money) embracing a politician who made a name for himself by boasting about his wealth and whose tax and healthcare reform plans would transfer large sums of cash to the nation’s wealthiest individuals and corporations.
“And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why Christians are called hypocrites,” wrote one fan.
“Everything he says and does is not Christian like and we as Christians should be praying for his salvation. God says to clothe ourselves in compassion, kindness and love… Do you really think Trump has clothed himself like this?” commented another.
Despite his new found love for incendiary political debate, we’re guessing Derick will stay silent on this one.
He literally can’t afford to alienate any potential supporters.
