Fred Goldman to O.J. Simpson: You Owe Me $70 Million, Jerk!
It’s been three months since O.J. Simpson was released from prison, and we have to say – so far, things are going pretty smoothly.
O.J. hasn’t some forward as Khloe Kardashian’s father, but he also hasn’t murdered anyone, so we consider it a net positive.
The Juice is one of like three things you’re still allowed to joke about in 2018, so we like to poke fun at him whenever we get the chance.
But it’s important to bear in mind that there’s nothing remotely funny about Simpson’s (alleged) crimes.
Though he was acquitted of the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman in his criminal trial, the former NFL running back was found liable in a 1997 civil case and ordered to pay $ 33.5 million to Goldman’s family.
As he has yet to fork over a dime in the 21 years since, that amount has more than doubled due to penalties and interest and O.J. is now indebted to the Goldmans in the amount of roughly $ 70 million.
Quite understandably, Ronald’s father, Fred Goldman, is tired of waiting, and this week, he filed a motion to force Simpson to pay what he owes.
Goldman is asking a judge to order O.J. to turn over revenue that he “has and could make from any autograph or memorabilia signing, promotion, or other commercial enterprises.”
Since that revenue accounts for 100 percent of O.J.’s earnings these days, he obviously has a good deal riding on the outcome of this case.
It might seem like an open-and-shut scenario, as Simpson’s debt is more than two decades old, but it seems the Goldmans have already hit a snag:
“The judge said if you want to do that, you are going to have to identify who is paying Mr. Simpson,” Goldman’s attorney David J.Cook explained in an interview with Radar Online.
“It’s a temporary pause in our tempo, but it won’t stop us. We can call it a low-level speed bump.”
O.J.’s attorney, Ronald P. Slates, claims his client has done everything in his power to make good on his debt to the Goldmans.
He says that Simpson offered the Goldmans $ 5 million and 25 percent of all future earnings at the
In response to Slates’ plea for clemency, Cook reminds us that there is no mercy for the Goldmans, who live with the loss of their son every day:
“They live with the loss … and anyone who sees their children die before they do, the loss of a child can be very consuming,” he told Radar.
“Fred rejects, as many people do, what’s called ‘closure.’ Closure for anybody who has lost a child is an obscene word.”
We’ll have further updates on this story as more information becomes available.

Fred Caruso, Film and Play Producer, Dead of Suicide
Fred Caruso – a producer on the off-Broadway hit Newsical and the 2009 film Big Gay Musical – has been found dead of an apparent suicide.
He was 41 years old.
Caruso himself confirmed this new via a message he schedule to go live on the Big Gay Musical Facebook page on Monday.
The chilling post was penned in seemingly high spirits by Caruso and it detailed his troubled state of mind.
“I have some good news – I will no longer be sending out BERNIE shit,” it opens.
“Its not because I support hiLIARy – its because I”m no longer alive. (yes I’ve been making bad jokes for 41 yrs and I intend to end things the way it began.)
“I have been forced to send this out through the BGM page – cause Facebook doesn’t allow you to delay posts on your personal page.”
It’s not too often something like this happens, is it?
Caruso goes on:
“For most of my life I have been absolutely miserable – except for when I was creating. I have nothing left in me to create.
“I don’t think I have any idea what love or happiness is. I have been incredibly lonely and at the same time – I hate being around people.”
The producer went on to say he first attempted suicide last week by taking 30 ambien pills.
It’s unclear at this time just how Caruso took his life, but he says he found a way that was not messy and that was “relatively painless,” adding:
“I have achieved more in my life than I ever should have been able to. I grew up on government cheese, food stamps, and public housing.
“I have produced great theatre, movies (two of which I wrote and directed) and I traveled all over the world. I regret nothing especially the choice that I am making now.”
Caruso said he wants to be clear: he still holds grudges against certain people. He tried as hard as he could to find happiness. And his last few days on Earth were “great.”
He ate steak. He stayed in “jacuzzi suites on the strip.”
In lieu of a memorial, Caruso asked friends and family members to donate to the Trevor Project, which provides suicide prevention services to LGBTQ+ youth.
He concluded as follows:
To all of you that have touched my life I thank you from the bottom of soul. I hope I have touched a few of yours (and I know I’ve touched a few of you)…
I have spent the last few days driving all over trying to find a different solution – I couldn’t.

Fred Thompson Dies; Law & Order Actor and Former Senator Was 73
Former US senator and prolific actor Fred Thompson has passed away at the age of 73.
His family broke the news in a statement issued to several media outlets earlier today:
“It is with a heavy heart and a deep sense of grief that we share the passing of our brother, father and grandfather who died peacefully Nashville surrounded by his family,” said the statement.
“Fred was the same man on the floor of the Senate, the movie studio, or the town square of his home.”
According to the statement, Thompson died following a recurrence of lymphoma.
After beginning his career as an attorney, Thompson alternated between politics and acting for much of his adult life.
Thompson served as a Republican senator for eight years.
Once considered a rising star of the Senate, Thompson retired after his term expired in 2003, stating that he “didn’t have the heart” for another term.
Thompson launched a campaign for the Republican presidential nomination in 2008, but dropped out after attracting little support in early primaries.
As an actor, Thompson is perhaps best known for his role as District Attorney Arthur Branch on Law & Order and its spinoff series SVU, Trial By Jury and Criminal Intent.
In addition to portraying Branch from 2002 to 2007, Thompson starred in dozens of feature films, including Cape Fear, In the Line of Fire and Die Hard 2.
Thompson is survived by his wife, political commentator Jeri Kehn Thompson, and four children.
