Lamar Odom: LA Times Columnist Blames Kardashians For His Downfall

Moments ago, the world learned that Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom have called off their divorce

It was an unexpected piece of good news following a week of strife and near-tragedy.

But while most of Odom’s fans and well-wishers are thrilled that something good came out of the overdose that nearly claimed his life, there’s at least one man who believes Lamar would be much better off on his own.

Bill Plaschke is a columnist for the Los Angeles Times who’s been singing Odom’s praises for years – and who believes that the Kardashians are solely responsible for his downfall.

In other words, Plaschke is a supporter of the “Kardashian Curse” theory – the belief that the women in the Kardashian-Jenner family are so hungry for fame that they have no qualms destroying the men in their lives so long as the drama leads to higher reality show ratings.

“The basketball star never stood a chance against the Kardashians,” Plaschke wrote in an op-ed piece published today.

“Odom should have refused to be part of the show, but he never refused the request of anyone close to him, even if it hurt him, and, man, this show hurt him…Odom was being emasculated on television by a family whose hunger to exploit was more dominating than any opposing power forward.”

Plaschke went on to describe an encounter he had with Khloe in which he questioned her motives in convincing Lamar to become a reality a star:

“Without ever looking me in the eye, she responded, ‘The show has been therapy for Lamar. It’s been a real release.’ A release of what? His pride? His strength? None of it made sense.”

Needless to say, we don’t think Mr. Plaschke will be present when the Khloe and Lamar renew their vows.
