Look out, Justin Bieber!
One Direction means business.
Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan are releasing their new album today… the same day on which Bieber is also coming out with a new album.
And these four British hunks have found a quiet and emotional way to promote the record, performing a number of hits on BBC Radio 1’s "Live Lounge."
But the one that has the Internet truly abuzz is Natalie Imbruglia’s "Torn," for multiple reasons:
- It"s a great track.
- It"s a song One Direction performed together way back on The X Factor, when they were initially discovered.
This has extra meaning to fans because One Direction will be taking a hiatus in 2016, following this release of "Made in the A.M."
So fans around the World Wide Web are having all the feels when it comes to this acoustic, stripped down version of Imbruglia’s"s smash hit.
To wit, these are actual Tweets in response to the video featured here:
- WHEN THEY SANG TORN MY WHOLE LIFE SINCE THE START OF MY ONE DIRECTION OBSESSION FLASHED BEFORE MY EYE IM DONE
- Omg they did torn I"m so emotiNIALL like don"t do this to me before The album is released so many feels!
- concept: me sitting alone on my floor crying while watching 2k15 one direction covering torn on the live lounge
The group also sang some of its own stuff during this BBC appearance, while sneaking in another cover, “FourFiveSeconds,” by Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney.
But "Torn" is all any longtime follower is talking about at the moment, for reasons true One Direction fans understand.
Watch the mesmerizing rendition now and try not to cry too hard.
