She’s here! Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are now the proud parents of a beautiful baby girl.
The couple made the announcement this morning via social media.
“She’s here! Luna Simone Stephens, we are so in love with you! And sleepy. Very sleepy,” wrote Teigen alongside an image she shared to Instagram that revealed the baby’s birth weight: a healthy 6 pounds, 11 ounces.
Legend took to Twitter to announce that Luna came into the world last Thursday and expressed the joy he and his wife felt.
“Our new love is here! Luna Simone Stephens, born on Thursday, the 14th. We couldn’t be happier!” he tweeted.
This is the first child for the couple, who have been married since 2013.
Last year, Teigen opened up about her and her husband’s struggles with fertility, and disclosed that they eventually conceived through in-vitro fertilization.
They caught a bit of flak from critics for “playing God” when it was announced that they had selected the sex of the baby, but Teigen had no problem clapping back at haters.
“What is that difference though?” she wrote on Twitter. “I’ve already created embryos with a doctor. Only after must it be random?”
“Anyhow I am not mad at anyone’s beliefs but I don’t really actively seek out people to make them feel bad about their decisions either,” she added.
We love her badassery.
