Hillary Scott Opens Up About Miscarriage

Hillary Scott has opened up about something very personal very painful.

The Lady Antebellum singer suffered a miscarriage last year.

It happened in the fall, Scott said through tears during an appearance yesterday on Good Morning America.

She went into more detail as follows:

“This is something that is not talked about very often. I also feel like there’s this pressure that you’re supposed to be able to snap your fingers and continue to walk through life like it never happened.”

But that wasn’t an option for Scott.

It was the most difficult thing she ever experienced.

The artist – who shares a two-year-old daughter, Eisele Kaye, with her husband, Chris Tyrrell – said she recorded an album with her family to get through the rough period.

(Tyrrell is the drummer for the country music band Love and Theft and she met Sctott during Tim McGraw’s Southern Voice tour in 2010.

They got married in upstate New York in January 2012.)

Referring to the track “Thy Will,” Scott said on GMA:

“I wrote the song in the middle of experiencing everything that comes with the miscarriage so it was my most raw place that I could’ve ever been when this song truly poured out of me.”

The album is titled “Love Remains” and it comes out on July 29.

“I’m a different mom to her now,” Scott added, saying of her young daughter: “I hug her a lot tighter.”

Earlier this month, we reported on Gordon Ramsay’s wife also having had a recent miscarriage.

How has this experience shaped Scott overall?

She’ll be going on tour with her group this summer and says simply: “I’m very grateful.”

We salute Scott for talking about this very difficult situation and we wish her the best in life.
