Jill and Derick Dillard, along with their young son Israel, are back in the good old U.S.A. after a 10-month mission trip to Central America.
The trio returned to the Natural State this weekend.
Above, you can see an Instagram photo of their reunion, as they Dillards were greeted at Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport.
Derick’s brother, the newly engaged Dan Dillard, and his fiancee Deena were among those on hand to celebrate their return.
Derick and Jill had never met Deena before. Crazy!
While Derick’s man bun was nowhere to be seen in Dan’s Instagram photo, there was no hiding the family’s smiles on this occasion.
“Finally got to introduce my fiancée to the rest of the family! Good to have them back in the states for awhile,” Dan posted on his page.
“#WelcomeHome #TiredNephew”
Jill responded in the comments: “Aw! We are so glad to be back! Thanks for waiting for our flight to arrive. Loved getting to see y’all!”
In a second photo of Jill, Derick, Dan and Deena, little Israel is swapped out for six-year-old Josie, the youngest of the 19 Kids & Counting.
Here’s Josie with sister Jana, the oldest Duggar daughter at 26 (she and her twin John David were born two years after Josh Duggar).
Sisters, born two decades apart!
Back to Derick and Jill Dillard: TLC film crew members on hand to capture the moment, so you can guarantee to see it on TV shortly.
When you watch Jill and Jessa: Counting On online, expect a heavy dose of these two (and Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo courting).
Their return to the U.S. from their mission trip wasn’t just good news for the couple, it was music to the ears of two very special grandmothers:
“These grandmas are happy to have Israel home for a little while!” Jill wrote of the below image of Michelle Duggar with Derick’s mother.
“And he is spoiled to have family nearby again.”
Are they back in the Land of the Free for good, though?
According to The Duggar Family Fan Blog, Jill and Derick Dillard will be heading out again in the fall, presumably on another mission trip.
While it’s not entirely clear what their missions consist of, and they’ve been no strangers to controversy, this is not altogether surprising.
Derick left his job at Walmart (as a tax accountant) to pursue his ministry and missionary work full time, and Jill enthusiastically joined.
As for what they’ll be doing for now in Arkansas?
“During their time at home,” the site says, they won’t miss a beat, as “Jill and Derick Dillard will work remotely with their ministry organization.”
In addition to this, the married couple of two years will “partner with local ministries, and expand their knowledge through Bible classes.”
And get slammed for controversial parenting photos every time they update Instagram, and face questions about Derick Dillard’s health.
So really, it’ll be like they never left …
