The Bachelorete Recap: How to Become a Bigger Contender
Those who read The Bachelorette spoilers likely weren’t surprised to learn that Rachel Lindsay’s journey isn’t a two-person race just yet.
On part two of a two-night Bachelorette event Tuesday, this new contender emerged to challenge Bryan and Peter for Rachel’s heart.
Eric Bigger (pictured) opened up to Rachel on a one-on-one date in a way that separated himself from many of the remaining contestants.
Of whom there are SIX fewer now. Yes, she cut six in a single episode, as predicted by Bachelorette spoilers and very likely a record.
First, and foremost, Lee got the boot. Thank goodness.
The fact that Lee Garrett is racist (or sure acting like it) took place at the outset of the second half of this heavily-teased two-part event.
Lee’s feud with Kenny “‘Pretty Boy Pitbull” King, a black wrestler from Las Vegas who he called “aggressive,” reached a boiling point.
Things grew so bad that Chris Harrison seemingly tried to downplay any racial tensions, attributing the conflict to “jealousy” and “ego.”
Ultimately, after hearing from both of the men, Lindsay ultimately sided with King and eliminated Garrett during their two-on-one date.
She simply couldn’t trust the latter, she said.
King, however, was not long for this journey either. The single father and Lindsay ultimately agreed that it was best to part ways.
The wrestler is a single father, after all, and was clearly having issues with being apart from his little girl for the duration of this.
Not seeing a future with him to the extent that she’s forming a connection with some of the other guys, Rachel suggested he go.
It was a good decision for the right reasons.
Crazily, the episode saw three additional guys sent packing, including Will Gaskins after a one-on-one date that featured zero chemistry.
Maybe even negative chemistry if that’s possible.
Also a decision it’s hard to blame Rachel for. Meanwhile, Anthony Battle and Josiah Graham were eliminated during the rose ceremony.
Eric Bigger, who had previously complained about Battle being the only black man to get a one-on-one (he later got his own), commented:
“Two more black guys sent home by Rachel.”
In total, four African-American men left the show on Tuesday, which of course is something that Lindsay will be scrutinized for heavily.
“It’s such a struggle,” she said of the goodbyes.
Alex Bordyukov joined Lee, Kenny, Will, Anthony and Josiah in punching his ticket home during the episode’s second rose ceremony.
After last night, only six men remain. Wow.
Eric Bigger is the sole black contestant among them, though he did establish himself as a bona fide threat to win the final rose Tuesday.
Admitting he had never fallen in love before because he doesn’t know what love is, but he knows what he feels with her is so right?
About the sweetest thing you’ll ever see.
As for the inevitable conversations about interracial relationships, Rachel says she’ll have them once she sees a future with a contestant.
Bryan Abasolo, who is Colombian, for what that’s worth, had one such talk this week. “Do you think your family will accept me?” she asked.
He replied that his family is very open and that any person who loves Bryan would be loved unconditionally and 100 percent in return.
Meanwhile, The Bachelorette continues to be overshadowed somewhat by the Bachelor in Paradise scandal playing out in the media.
That matter also involves a racial controversy.
DeMario Jackson speaking out for the first time this week, implied that as a black man, he felt he could be a target for false accusations.
He didn’t blatantly point fingers regarding the fallout from his hookup with Corinne Olympios, but the implication was clear nonetheless.
Gaskins went a step further this week.
“It wasn’t until [a black man] got into the mix that this was deemed as no longer acceptable,” he said of the shenanigans in Paradise.

Ariana Grande to Become First Honorary Citizen of Manchester!
Ariana Grande was shocked to the core just a few weeks ago when terrorist, Salmen Abedi detonated a suicide bomb during the Manchester stop of her Dangerous Woman World Tour.
That bomb left 22 people dead and as much as 59 injured, but Ariana opted not to let the terrorists win by returning to the city earlier this month with a benefit concert titled One Love Manchester.
Now, it has emerged that Manchester is looking to recognize those who have made significant contributions to the city. Ariana is the first individual to be given such title.
Council leader Sir Richard Leese told the BBC: “This seems a fitting moment to update the way we recognize those who make noteworthy contributions to the life and success of our city.”
“We’ve all had cause to be incredibly proud of Manchester and the resilient and compassionate way in which the city, and all those associated with it, have responded to the terrible events of 22 May – with love and courage rather than hatred and fear.”
After initially fleeing the country to return home to be with her family, Ariana released a statement saying she would be making her way back to Manchester for a benefit concert.
“My heart, prayers and deepest condolences or with the victims of the Manchester Attack and their loved ones,” Grande writes to open her new message, adding: “There is nothing I or anyone can do to take away the pain you are feeling or to make this better.
“However, I extend my hand and heart and everything I possibly can give to you and yours, should you want or need my help in any way.”

Grande stuck to her word and arranged a concert in a matter of days that included stars such as Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, and Katy Perry. In turn, she helped raise a lot of money for the victims of the attack.
If anything, the whole incident proved that Ariana is a brave young woman who fights for what she believes in.
Ariana has since resumed her world tour, but got a bee tattoo in honor of the city of Manchester.
If anyone deserves to be made an honorary citizen, it’s Ariana.

Farrah Abraham: I"m Quitting Reality TV to Become an Actress!
It seems that despite the many obvious examples that indicate otherwise, just about every young reality TV star assumes they’ll be famous forever.
Some are smart and invest their money, knowing that the reality audiences are a fickle lot and the gravy train won’t keep running til the end of time.
But most are far more delusional, mistakenly believing that the public’s fascination will remain constant.
Farrah Abraham is an extremely rare case, in that she seems to have adopted both strategies.
Farrah owns several frozen yogurt stands, and she’s engaged in several … less family-friendly business ventures, as well.
We’re talking, of course, not only about Farrah’s sex tape, but also the vibrating plastic molds of her various orifices which can be purchased from a number of fine online retailers.
As a reality star and a porn star, you’d think Farrah would realize that the odds of her ever achieving mainstream celebrity status are virtually non-existent.
But you would be assuming that a cogent, self-aware thought has ever passed through Farrah’s mind, and that’s clearly not the case.
In an unintentionally hilarious new interview, Farrah reveals that she dreams of one day gracing the silver screen.
And since we’re pretty sure porn theaters are a thing of the past, that means she’ll have to land a legitimate acting gig.
“I will always have a place in my heart for reality TV as I [have] history in reality television and for social issues time and time again-– but I must continue creating in a different way in my free time,” Farrah tells The Sun.
That’s some grade-A Farrah-babble, right there. *kisses fingertips like an Italian chef*
Love the random insertion of the phrase “social issues” into a sentence in an effort to lend gravity to what she’s saying.
That’s not even close to how words work.
Anyway, there are several reasons why it’s hard to take Farrah’s pledge to ditch reality TV for Hollywood too seriously.
One of which is that she’s currently filming a new reality show!
Yes, Farrah is starring in Love Socially, a UK series in which she’ll use Twitter and Instagram to help her locate bang-able fans.
Not the greatest title when you have Farrah on board.
Just makes us think of a social disease.

Kids Interrupt Dad"s BBC Interview, Become Internet Sensations
As detailed earlier this week, when a young boy broke into a weather report in order to fart, it can be challenging to conduct live television with children in the vicinity.
Just ask Robert Kelly.
A political science professor at Pusan National University in South Korea, Kelly was sitting in his home office this week for a video interview with the BBC.
As you can see in the outset of the footage below, the topic at hand was pretty darn serious.
But it was hard for the BBC anchor and, eventually, Kelly to keep a straight face when the latter"s adorable/enthusiastic toddler daughter busted into his office.
From there, a baby waddled in via a walker, causing brief and total chaos for both Kelly and the reporter trying to ask him questions about global politics.
After a few seconds, a frantic-looking woman (the nanny? We presume?) barged into the room to corral the kids out of their dad"s office.
She grabbed the toddler. She rolled the baby away. And the clip hilariously ends with her down on two knees, desperately closing the office door.
The footage has gone viral, inspiring a number of memes and earning a lot of celebrity reaction as well.

Calexit: California to Secede From U.S., Become its Own Nation?!
Some residents of California want to secede from the U.S. following the jarring 2016 election results that gave Donald J. Trump the presidency.
As such, the awesomely titled and hashtagged #Calexit movement has been born … but does it stand even a remote chance of success?
The outlandish idea of secession doesn’t seem so crazy anymore to some Golden State residents, given who won the popular vote.
Trump won the Electoral College decisively, and thus the White House, but Hillary Clinton actually got more votes, 64,874,143-62,516,883.
In California, she won a staggering 61 percent, and her margin of 7,362,490-3,916,209 accounts for all of her national "win" and then some.
When Trump says that he didn"t compete in California and therefore the popular vote is meaningless … he"s not making a terrible point.
Both sides played by the same rules and he won (despite Jill Stein"s recount and Trump"s outrageous claim that millions voted illegally).
Still … of the Californians who voted to award their 55 Electoral Votes, nearly two out of three picked Clinton instead of our 45th President-Elect.
So yeah, there"s secession talk. But how realistic is it?
Not very. Ripe with financial, political and financial hurdles, #Calexit would first face an expensive and arduous state initiative process.
Which, even if it succeeded, would then require persuading two-thirds of Congress to relinquish the state in order to actually happen.
In short, it"s not going to.
Darry Sragow, a Democratic strategist who teaches election law at the University of Southern California, called it “an inconceivable thought.”
Even if the state voted for it, “I cannot envision a circumstance under which the rest of the country would even think about this for a nanosecond.”
Just the same, a group of grass-roots group of secessionists, calling themselves Yes California, last week proposed a 2018 ballot measure.
If the group can get the signatures and navigate the red tape, it will ask Golden State residents if California should be its own country.

Big Brother Recap: Did Nicole Become the Target?
Nicole Franzel was one of the best houseguests on Big Brother 16. She was a competition beast and had a great social game.
The fact that no one has tried to get her out of the game before now is pretty crazy. She’s going through the game undetected, but it appears the net is finally closing in on her.
She and Corey pulled off a nice trick by having Natalie and Michelle target Paul and Victor. It was pretty hilarious to witness the reaction on Paul’s face.
He was so sure Nicole and Corey were going up on the block, so it raised the tension in the house. He wanted to know why he was sitting on the block.
Natalie doesn’t like confrontation and tried to steer clear of him, but he made it his mission to get to the root of who was causing the trouble.
He waited until Corey was called to the diary room to confront her. It was a bit of a douche move because if Nicole was the perpetrator, Corey would have been in on it.
We’re at the stage of the game in which there’s not very many people left, so it makes the whole nominations process more difficult.
Nicole stood her ground against Paul, but Corey proved yet again that he’s oblivious to everything. He ran out of the diary room stripping and hitting Nicole with his costume.
It was hilarious, but awkward at the same time. Poor Nicole was trying to defend herself while being hit with the costume.
Natalie, Michelle and Victor watched all the action on the HOH TV. You’d think Big Brother would have provided them with popcorn for this momentous occasion.
When it was all said and done, Natalie and Michelle were on board with getting either Corey and Nicole out. They have got to be the most indecisive people in Big Brother history.
It’s evident that James is fully on board with voting out Victor, if the opportunity arises. There’s a good chance of James’ plan working because he’s the swing vote this week.
This means that there will be a line drawn in the sand on Thursday night. Expect Natalie to follow James, whichever he chooses.
Nicole was the one houseguest not competing for the veto. It’s not like she got much studying done. Corey just wanted to keep her in bed, while the rest of the houseguests crammed for the competition.
Does Corey not understand that he was being talked about as a replacement nominee? Geez, send the dude home and hopefully Nicole will start playing the game.
The POV competition was one of the best in the entire series. Having all the houseguests as weather forecast presenters, while being hit with strong winds and rain made for an exciting competition.
Paul won the POV.
His win was unsurprising because he pretty much stayed up the whole night and even tried to wake the others up so they had a better chance to get Corey put up.
As expected, Paul used the POV on himself.
Corey went up as the replacement nominee.
