Catelynn Lowell Opens Up About Suicidal Thoughts In Shocking Interview

As expected, last night’s Teen Mom OG reunion show was loaded with drama, much of it having to do with ongoing questions about Ryan Edwards’ sobriety.

But while Ryan’s situation may have dominated the tabloid headlines in recent weeks, he’s certainly not the only member of the TMOG cast to grapple with personal demons this season.

Catelyn Lowell checked into rehab three times over the course of the past year.

Unlike Ryan, however, her primary battle was not with substances but with mental illness.

Lowell opened up about experiencing suicidal thoughts prior to seeking treatment in November, and during her interview with Dr. Drew that aired last night, she revealed that her situation has improved dramatically in recent months.

“If I don’t go somewhere else today, I’m going to off myself and life would be 10 times better,” Catelynn said, recalling her lowest point.

“I could picture myself driving into an electrical pole off the road, praying it would kill me. But I wouldn’t do it because I had my kid in the backseat.”

These days, Catelynn says, her life is not without its struggles, but changes in her diagnosis (Lowell suffers from PTSD) and her medications have left her feeling that she’s equipped to handle the ups and downs.

Lowell also says she’s quit pot for good after being advised that the use of recreational drugs might have exacerbated her condition in the past.

For his part, Tyler said he still smokes occasionally but was quick to add that he never gets high in his wife’s presence.

“I don’t smoke around her,” Tyler told Dr. Drew.

Lowell stated in several recent interviews that Tyler has been endlessly supportive throughout her recent struggles.

The segment ended with more good news for the Baltierra clan, as Tyler’s troubled father, Butch Baltierra, joined the proceedings via Skype and informed the audience that he’s been sober ever since completing rehab back in November.

It was a bittersweet interview, with Lowell addressing the subject of her miscarriage and fighting tears while discussing the “emotional year” that threatened to tear her family apart.

But Catelynn and Tyler survived, in part thanks to their love for one another.

Yes, Ryan’s recent bad behavior may make for more scandalous television, but thankfully TMOG viewers seem more interested in celebrating the casts’ successes than in gawking at their misfortunes.

Watch Teen Mom OG online for more on Catelynn’s courageous struggle.

Kailyn Lowry: I Might Interview Chris Lopez ... If He Shows Up!

Kailyn Lowry is no stranger to less-than-ideal baby daddies, but some fans believe that Chris Lopez is the worst of them all.

Well, fans might just get to hear a lot more about Lux’s father, and soon.

Because Kailyn has teased that he’s agreed to sit down for an interview. But there’s a catch.

Kailyn Lowry has been doing a podcast. It’s honestly a great thing for celebs with even a minor following to get into.

She’s been doing some good interviews, too, with fellow Teen Mom stars and with Javi Marroquin.

On Monday, Kailyn Lowry took to Twitter and teased who her future guest would be:

“Chris said he’s gona be on my podcast… anyone wanna hear from my baby daddy?”

That got people’s attention right away.

She followed that up with a not-so-subtle jab at Teen Mom 2 fans’ favorite book-burner, saying:

“He probably won’t follow through, per usual. But thought I would see what the interest was.”

Kailyn’s Twitter followers immediately chimed in.

Some shared her skepticism that he would actually do the interview.

“His ass going to be a no show.”

And while there were some who like the idea of the interview, a lot of fans reacted with horror.

“No kail no!”

They really don’t like Chris Lopez.

“No girl don’t do it. We don’t know him we don’t want to. Let’s keep it that way okay.”

Kailyn has accused Chris Lopez of being a total deadbeat dad who simply pretends for his own followers that he plays a role in his son’s life.

That hasn’t made a good impression upon Kail’s followers, who wrote:

“I feel like he doesn’t really deserve to be on there.”

In their mind, if you’re not actually a dad, you don’t warrant an interview.

“Is he involved in your son’s life? If not I’d tell him to take a hike…”

Some fans question who would even want to hear him speak.

“Why would anyone want to hear from him..I don’t even know why you are up for the offer..waste men deserve nadda!!”

Oh, and Chris Lopez’s cheating came up.

“Negative. A man who will cheat on his PREGNANT girlfriend doesn’t deserve anyone’s time.”

Some followers did express a degree of interest.

“if he’s gonna man up and talk [about] what we wanna hear.”

There are a lot of qualifiers in even the positive tweets.

Someone else had an idea.

“You should do a podcast with all baby daddies at once well at least the two of them.”

One tweeter sounds like they’re very much Team Chris.

“Just making you more money if he does, but as long as you don’t restrict what he says and let him tell the truth about what you was then yeassssss let it be.”

We don’t know if Kail and Chris are going to go through with it.

But Kailyn casting doubt on whether or not he’ll show up may have been a dare to goad him into showing up.

It might backfire, though, and offend him to the point where he won’t appear.

Or … it might give him the excuse that he wants to not show up.

We’ll see.

Angela Lansbury Crushes Fans with Victim-Blaming Interview

Angela Lansbury is a 92-year-old legend of acting and singing. From Gaslight to Beauty and the Beast to Murder, She Wrote, Angela has entertained generation after generation during her lengthy career.

She’s a beloved figure … which is why this news is so, so disappointing.

Because Angela Lansbury appears to be placing part of the blame for sexual assaults in the entertainment industry on the victims. Oh no, Angela. …

Like most people, one of the first things that I did this morning was check Twitter.

It used to be where we’d see short jokes and also some updates on the lives of famous people.

Now, Twitter is the vehicle through which we receive our news and perpetuate our sense of existential dread as the horror show of 2017 rages all around us.

I saw the name of living legend Angela Lansbury trending and was immediately gripped with terror that perhaps she had died. She is still alive, but the reason for which she’s trending is incredibly disappointing.

As one tweet summarized:

“*sees Angela Lansbury is trending* ‘OH NO SHE BETTER NOT BE DEAD’ ‘oh wait it’s worse"”

That tweet resonated with thousands of people who liked and retweeted it.

Because, as it turns out, Angela Lansbury made some very incendiary comments about sexual assault and sexual harassment:

A few years ago, Angela Lansbury shot down the idea of a Murder, She Wrote remake. At the time, her view was a little controversial, but as the star of the incredibly long-running series, it was totally her right to speak her mind.

This, however, is another matter.

In a recent interview with Radio Times, Angela Lansbury addressed the #MeToo movement and the countless women who have come forward with horror stories about rape and sexual harassment, in and out of the entertainment industry.

Lansbury’s comments are troubling:

“There are two sides to this coin.”

Sure … in that one side of the coin was just going about its life and the other side of the coin decided to rape it.

“We have to own up to the fact that women, since time immemorial, have gone out of their way to make themselves attractive.”

That’s true, in part because patriarchal cultures value women based upon their looks while they value men for a whole spectrum of criteria.

“And unfortunately it has backfired on us — and this is where we are today.”

Yikes. It looks like she’s operating under the misunderstanding that sexual assault is primarily about attraction, rather than about power, control, and violence.

And her comments get worse:

“We must sometimes take blame, women. I really do think that.”

How, we wonder? Some women participate in a culture of silence (generally out of fear), but it’s never a woman’s fault that she’s harassed or assaulted.

Lansbury did seem to realize what she was implying, because she partially backtracked:

“Although it’s awful to say we can’t make ourselves look as attractive as possible without being knocked down and raped.”

Yeah, that would be awful … though it’s not clear that this isn’t what she was saying.

Angela Lansbury continued to attempt to correct her statements.

“Should women be prepared for this? No, they shouldn’t have to be! There’s no excuse for that.”

Correct. There is literally zero excuse for sexual assault, in the workplace or elsewhere.

“And I think it will stop now — it will have to. I think a lot of men must be very worried at this point.”

It’s good that she feels so optimistic about the #MeToo movement’s effectiveness. We hope that she’s right about that.

Her earlier comments did not go unnoticed, however, and Twitter was not having it:

“Dear Angela Lansbury, I understand that you are 92 years old and from a different time, but your views only strengthen the disgusting men who perpetrate such acts against your sex.”

Again, women may wear whatever they like. That does not in any way mean that they are playing a role in inviting their attackers.

“It’s NEVER the woman’s fault!”

Truth.

Murder She Wrote would have been quite a different show if in each episode Angela Lansbury blamed the victim.”

Sometimes, it’s harder to hear these comments from actors who have portrayed champions for justice. Sadly, not every actor is Mariska Hargitay. Only Mariska herself is, technically.

“Angela Lansbury’s age doesn’t give her a free pass.”

That’s also true.

Hopefully, Angela Lansbury will respond to the backlash.

After all, Gabby Douglas victim-shamed Aly Raisman after Raisman came forward about sex abuse at the hands of Dr. Larry Nassar. But Gabby then apologized — more than once.

We hope that Angela will do the same.

Otherwise, it’s going to make our next viewing of Murder, She Wrote … really awkward.

Caitlyn Jenner to Interview O.J. Simpson on New Talk Show?!

Considering that Kris Jenner is already majorly resentful over Caitlyn Jenner’s tell-all book, this sounds like a mistake. Or maybe Caitlyn’s fine with it if the Kardashians want nothing to do with her.

But, reportedly, there are plans in the works for Caitlyn to sit down with and interview infamous alleged murderer O.J. Simpson.

Even without a formal announcement, this is being slammed as extremely insensitive, unwise, and in poor taste.

Caitlyn Jenner isn’t any old public personality.

Through her marriage to Kris Jenner, she became friends with O.J. Simpson and his late wife, Nicole Brown Simpson.

You know, before “someone” murdered Nicole, and Ron Goldman, in a brutal and bloody attack on that fateful day in June of 1994.

Though O.J. Simpson has been found financially for the despicable murder, he was famously acquitted in criminal court despite overwhelming evidence.

Obviously, Kris and even O.J.’s long-time friend Robert Kardashian distanced themselves from him following his acquittal.

Probably because they’d been friends with Nicole, too, and felt that they owed it to her to not be too chummy with her alleged murderer.

Still, we have to ask:

Is Caitlyn really willing to sit across from O.J. and interview him?

O.J. Simpson has already insulted Caitlyn Jenner in an interview with TMZ.

His words were probably an attempt at humor, though his “joke” is transphobic in nature and involves misgendering and deadnaming Caitlyn, both of which are unacceptable.

(But we’re talking about a guy accused of beating his wife for years before allegedly murdering her and a stranger, so there is literally no vile act that most people would put past this guy)

“I don’t know Caitlyn,” Simpson said to the camera. “I’ve never met Caitlyn.”

Obviously, he means that he hasn’t seen her since her transition.

“As far as Bruce is concerned, I don’t really know him that well.”

You don’t bring up someone’s deadname.

“If he wants to choose to live his life out as an old lady instead of an old man, hey, women live longer,” he somehow said.

Nicole Brown Simpson didn’t.

He then doubled down on misgendering Caitlyn.

“He may be onto something.”

Just because you can, uh, run on grass while holding an oddly shaped ball, a skill that someone catapulted O.J. to fame and fortune because our society has weird values, doesn’t mean that you can tell a joke.

According to Life & Style, producers haven’t yet approached Caitlyn Jenner about interviewing O.J. Simpson.

But apparently they hope to sell her on the idea.

They reportedly plan to pitch it as “an informative, interview-type show,” in which Cait could grill the alleged double-murderer to her heart’s content.

“If they do it right, it would be fascinating.”

Well, so would genetically engineering a bunch of dinosaurs and letting them loose on an island full of children. That doesn’t mean that anyone should do it.

“Love them or hate them,” a source told the tabloid, “putting Caitlyn and O.J. in the same room would be must-see TV.”

That’s … true.

Some feel strongly that O.J. Simpson should not be awarded any sort of respect. That includes interviews and anything else for which he might be paid money that he doesn’t deserve.

At the same time, others point out that O.J. would be required to pay at least some of any money that he makes to the Goldmans, who won their lawsuit.

(So many people forget Ron Goldman. Nicole didn’t deserve what happened to her, but neither did Ron)

Maybe the producers will get cold feet. Again, entertaining television doesn’t mean that it’s worth it. We can practically smell the advertiser boycotts.

But this is 2017. We live in interesting times, and anything could happen.

Francia Raisa Saved My Life, Selena Gomez Says in Emotional Interview

Selena Gomez is speaking out about her kidney transplant for the first time.

And she isn’t doing so alone.

The artist has sat down for her first interview since undergoing this major procedure, talking to The Today Show about all it entailed… while sitting alongside the best friend who made it possible.

That would be Francia Raisa.

About a month ago, Gomez stunned the celebrity gossip community when she confirmed Raisa actually gave her a kidney.

The beloved singer was in rough shape due having Lupus, devastating illness in which a person’s own immune system attacks their healthy cells.

In a preview of a sit-down with the close pals that will air on Monday, Savannah Guthrie Tweeted the following on Friday morning:

“Next week on TODAY: @selenagomez & @therealfrancia speak out together for the 1st time since the kidney transplant that saved Selena’s life.”

Is the co-host being extreme or hyperbolic?

Not really, Selena says.

“I got to the point where it was really kind of life or death,” Gomez says in the interview, growing emotional, adding:

“I didn’t want to ask a single person in my life. And she volunteered and did it.”

For her part, Raisa – an actress best known for her role on The Secret Life of the American Teenager – previously shared on Instagram that the experience changed her life as well.

“I am beyond grateful that God would trust me with something that not only saved a life, but changed mine in the process,” Raisa wrote last month.

She also told Selena in this same post that she loved her and she’s so happy the two could share “this journey together.”

For Gomez, of course, the feeling is quite mutual.

“My kidneys were just done” Gomez tells Guthrie, emphasizing the severity of the situation.

Gomez broke the shocking news of her operation a few weeks ago with a sweet photo of herself and Raísa holding hands from their hospital beds, along with photos of her stomach following the surgery.

“There aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa,” Gomez wrote in the post., expounding as follows:

“She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed.

“I love you so much sis.”

The star also went into a bit of detail regarding what led to the procedure and why she needed it:

“I’m very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for part of the summer and questioning why I wasn’t promoting my new music, which I was extremely proud of.

“I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering. It was what I needed to do for my overall health.”

The full interview with Raisa and Gomez will air across two Today installments on Monday and Tuesday.

This really is a pretty amazing story.

We’ll be tuning in to hear more about it.

Eric Paddock: Brother of Las Vegas Shooter Rambles Emotionally During Interview

The death count for the horrific Las Vegas shooting is up to 59, with injuries totaling 527. It is the worst mass shooting to take place in America during the last century, and we"re all sill reeling from it.

Aside from the victims and their families, no one could be more deeply affected than the family of the shooter, Stephen Paddock.

His brother, Eric, has now given a second, bewildered interview. He rambles, he cries, and generally demonstrates that the worst week of your life is also the worst time to give an interview.

The level-headed decision for someone of means to do when they find themselves in Eric Paddock"s situation is to hire a short-term representative, be it an attorney or even just a well-spoken family friend.

When you are distraught, any statements should be made in writing until you"re confident that you can give a solid interview and stay on topic.

Unfortunately, it"s difficult if not impossible to make level-headed decisions when your entire world has just been rocked.

What we know about Stephen Paddock is still limited, but though he fits parts of the profile of mass shooters — he"s a white male — it"s not immediately apparent what motivated his shooting.

In one of Eric"s more erratic statements in the video below, he says:

"When Steve can do this, we"re just in deep s–t. Because there"s just nothing there."

What he means, of course, is that this came out of nowhere without any obvious warning signs.

We"d be quick to point out, as others have, that Stephen Paddock wasn"t a "nice guy" who suddenly snapped.

A barista recognized him immediately because he would berate and publicly humiliate his live-in girlfriend when they"d come in.

(He would reportedly shame her for asking if he was getting her drink by reminding her that he pays for everything in her life)

It was apparently such a standard part of his behavior that employees dreaded seeing him with her.

Stephen Paddock may have not have had as many red flags as we usually expect, but he was a man who publicly berated his girlfriend and stockpiled weapons.

That"s not out of nowhere.

Contrary to what some people seem to think, however, it"s understandable that Eric didn"t see the potential for this in his own brother.

For one thing, Eric Paddock lives on the East Coast, while Stephen reveled in Vegas.

Eric speaks at length in the longer interview about trying to make time for his own son to see his Uncle Steve from time to time but not always getting the chance.

(When he would visit, Eric says that Steve was extremely generous, though often his generosity was on the dime of hotels at which he gambled)

But the biggest reason is that Stephen Paddock almost certainly hid everything from his family.

He probably didn"t humiliate his girlfriend in front of his family. He sounds like the kind of guy who wanted to show off his lifestyle to family.

Eric says that it was thanks to Stephen that their mother lives comfortably in her retirement.

He talks about how their father was terrible (their father was, in fact, FBI Most Wanted List levels of terrible) and left their mother to raise four children on a secretary"s salary.

He talks about Stephen"s wealth, his hopes that this can all be explained away by a brain tumor (not likely), and his general shock and dismay.

Unfortunately, Eric says none of these things particularly well.

His mood seems to shift, but this is the result of being in a state of shock and grief and having a bunch of people asking him questions for a half hour.

Eric does convey his deepest sympathies for Stephen"s victims, but he"s just as much at a loss to explain it — if not more — than we are.

"My heart is torn, is destroyed for all of these people. But I can"t tell you why Steve did what he did."

Here are some of his less coherent moments from the full interview:

Eric paddock brother of las vegas shooter rambles emotionally du
