Megyn Kelly is Trying Really Hard to Be Relevant Again

Remember when Megyn Kelly introduced herself to NBC viewers by saying she would not discuss politics as the host of Megyn Kelly Today?

Hmmm… perhaps we ought to back up a bit and first ask instead:

Remember Megyn Kelly?!?

The former Fox News anchor made headlines on a near-daily basis back during her time as a host on that network.

She even hosted a debate between Donald Trump and the pathetic politicians he managed to beat out for the Republican Presidential nomination in 2016!

Kelly was a relevant member of the press, that"s our point here.

Then, she left Fox News for NBC… stirred up quite a bit of controversy with her arrival… landed her own hour on The Today Show… and tried to become a Kelly Ripa-like television presence.

Kelly was suddenly all nice and normal and tried to be the woman next door who just has a few kids and a husband at home and who wants to gab about the latest fashion trends, as opposed to the latest political happenings.

Then her ratings tanked.

Then she interview Alex Jones (!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!).

And now she"s irrelevant. 

This brings us to Monday morning and Kelly"s return to the political arena, as she hosted a round table discussion with NBC"s Hallie Jackson, PBS" Amy Holmes and Rolling Stone contributing editor Joe Levy.

The topic at hand?

Embattled Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and the multiple accusations of sexual misconduct that have been made against him over the past several days.

"What a mess, that"s a clean version of what I was thinking in my head," Kelly said at the top of the conversation, later making it clear that she"s on Team Kavanaugh and adding she has no idea why Democrats would push for the FBI to investigate the aforementioned allegations.

"[The FBI"s] not a super-secret special police force to investigate super-secret really bad things the nominee may have done. That"s why we have congressional investigators," she said.

"The Republicans actually are investigating the Christine Blasey Ford allegations and the Democrats have refused to do so!

"They"re standing there in protest saying the FBI needs to do it, which doesn"t really help us."

Two quick things here:

1. Isn"t the FBI precisely a special type of police force whose mission is to get to the bottom of confusing and complicated cases of national importance?


2. The FBI did investigate Anita Hill"s claims in 1991 than then-Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas sexually harassed her.

Later in this segment, Kelly cuts off a panelist and emphasizes:

"He"s saying he didn’t do it. He"s not saying that those allegations against him amount to nothing if he did! He"s saying he didn’t do it!"

Oh, well, that changes everything.

If Kavanaugh is saying he didn"t do something… why is this even a debate?

Emily Simpson SLAMS Kelly Dodd for Vicious Attack on Husband!

Though viewers saw Vicki Gunvalson flip out on The Real Housewives of Orange County, she wasn’t the only Housewife to get a little hot under the collar.

When Kelly Dodd criticized Emily Simpson’s husband — when she called him a “b–ch” — Emily lashed out, even threatening to kill Kelly.

Emily cooled off and apologized, and she’s owning up to her words and actions. But she says that she’s the only one who’s doing so.

“I am in no way proud of my behavior at Tamra’s party,” Emily admits in a Bravo blog post.

In her own defense, Emily says: “I feel like any wife who respects her marriage and her husband would have become as irate as I did.”

“However,” Emily adds. “I am the ONLY one taking any responsibility for my own actions that evening.”

“And let’s be honest,” Emily says, preparing to school her co-star. “For a ‘death threat’ to be actionable, the other party has to have an imminent and reasonable fear that their life is in jeopardy.”

“The fact that Kelly continued to scream, ‘Hit me! Hit me!’ and was laughing means she was not scared for her life,” Emily reasons.

She says that Kelly has been targeted Emily’s words so that she does not have to look inward.

“Kelly’s constant focusing on what I said that night is simply a deflection from dealing with her own abhorrent behavior,” Emily says.

“I have to say I’m quite disappointed in the other ladies,” Emily continues.

Emily asks: “Did anyone else notice that Tamra, in her last blog, says Shane likes to cause drama when all he did was stand at a table and have a nice, quiet conversation with Steve?”

Tamra’s last blog was more or less all about accusing Shane of being dramatic.

Emily spies hypocrisy in Tamra’s accusations.

“Yet she makes ZERO mention of Kelly’s behavior,” Emily points out. “Can Shane ever catch a break? Is he ever allowed to speak?”

Emily then points out that Shane was in a no-win scenario.

“If he said nothing, he would be attacked for being spineless,” Emily imagines. “If he speaks up, he’s attacked for causing drama.”

“At the very least, it is laughable that the queen of ‘That’s my opinion!’ is telling Shane to stay out of it,” Emily says, referring to the famous meme of Tamra screaming.

“I am happy that Kelly and I had the opportunity to sit down face to face and work it out,” Emily writes.

Emily continues: “I truly believe you can work things out by owning your own actions, forgiving, and moving on.”

“I feel that we both said what we wanted to say,” Emily says. “And we both took responsibility for our own part in the evening.”

Emily adds: “I even texted Kelly after meeting with her and reiterated how I was happy that we chatted and worked things out.”

Despite that peacemaking, Emily points out that Kelly hasn’t given up on her insistence that Shane is a “b–ch.”

It’s part of human nature for people to get upset and defensive when their loved ones are targeted for criticism and ridicule.

And it goes with the Real Housewife franchise’s territory for people to have explosive arguments on camera. Viewers expect it.

It’s how the stars respond after the fact that shows fans what their character is really like. Emily, at least, is owning what she did and what she said.

We do hope that, in the future, Emily avoids issuing any death threats. It’s not cool.

MTV VMAs Flashback: Ladies and Gentlemen... Kelly Clarkson!

Kelly Clarkson won American Idol in 2002.

But she won the hearts, minds and, yes, even souls of music fans everywhere three years later.

At the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards in Miami, the original Idol champion belted out what most people would probably say – even now, even all this time later – is her best track:

Since U Been Gone.

The song is more than just a female empowerment anthem.

It is pop music at its finest: catchy, memorable, with a message to which many can relate and full of notes that only a select few artists can hit.

Clarkson, of course, is one of those artists.

She has a voice nearly unparalleled in this generation and, some could argue, in any generation.

For this Video Music Awards performance, Clarkson brought every ounce of energy at her disposal, rocking out to the single while rain poured down all over her face and body and she mingled with folks in the crowd.

It was, in every sense of the phrase, a true show stopper.

It was the kind of performance that announced to the universe that a new superstar had truly arrived. (One who had almost platinum blonde hair at the time!)

Since this time, of course, Clarkson has merely proved those predictions to be accurate.

She has collected numerous VMAs and Grammy Awards and is as beloved as any solo artist out there.

And the video featured here is, in many respects, where that all began.

R. Kelly Addresses Sex Abuse Accusations in 19-Minute Song

We have all read horror story after horror story about R. Kelly.

He allegedly seduces much younger women, isolates them, grooms them to accept abuse, and keeps them captive using violence and starvation to control them.

Multiple women who have come forward have also accused him of having groomed some women for this role since they were underage.

R. Kelly is being sued for sexual battery and false imprisonment.

Additionally, the #TimesUp movement has called to #MuteRKelly in an effort to force him out of the entertainment industry.

R. Kelly has now responded in a truly bizarre way.

Early on Monday, out of nowhere, he dropped a 19 minute song.

The song is titled "I Admit." In it, he seems to beg people to pity him. He also mocks the accusations against him and laments that they are endangering his career. He also name-drops an investigative reporter.

Take a look at these truly bizarre lyrics.

1. It begins with his sob story

The accusations against R. Kelly aren’t about him being “imperfect.” They’re about him allegedly abusing and terrorizing women and underage girls. Childhood struggles are sad, but not an excuse for monstrous deeds as an adult.

2. R. Kelly tries to minimize the criticisms against him

Sleeping with fans is fine. Allegedly keeping them locked up and isolated while punishing them with violence and starvation is not.

3. Here’s the chorus

While many people would be happy to hear him say these words in a deposition, interrogation room, or a courtroom, as a chorus, it’s mocking his accusers. And that is intentional.

4. Here, he sounds like he’s bragging

R. Kelly will seem to brag about his sex life more than once. You might think that a man accused of running a sex cult of brainwashed women would present a humble face to the world to avoid suspicion. R. Kelly does not.

5. He again wants listeners to feel sorry for him

Difficulty reading — whether it’s illiteracy or dyslexia — is definitely a sympathetic struggle. But this seems like a transparent ploy to elicit sympathy in the face of the harrowing accusations against him.

6. And now he’s back to bragging

Perhaps he hopes to convince listeners that if he is “confessing” (these sound more like boasts) to these actions, surely he has not done anything worse.

Kelly Ripa Shares Daughter Lola"s GORGEOUS Prom Photo!

Kelly Ripa is intensely gorgeous and Mark Consuelos is almost comically handsome, so it is no surprise that their daughter is stunningly beautiful.

Lola Grace Consuelos turns 17 at the end of next week. This week, she attended prom.

Proud mother Kelly couldn’t help but share a photo of this sweet milestone. Take a look!

Lola is notoriously picky about which photos including her she’s okay with her parents sharing on social media.

It makes sense — not only are parents super embarrassing by their nature, but her parents are very, very famous.

Honestly, anyone at any age has every right to be picky about their photos, but this is especially true for a teenage girl.

Which is why it is so sweet that Lola must have given her mom the okay to share her prom pic.

It’s a genuinely great photo.

Kelly Ripa captioned the photo of her 16-year-old daughter with her dapper date:

“Prom night 2018.”

She followed those words with five star emojis.

Lola is sporting a lavender Alice + Olivia evening gown, available from Neiman Marcus.

This particular dress has delicate straps, a side slit, and also a degree of ruching.

(Ruching is when you give fabric a tastefully wrinkled look by gathering or pleating fabric)

You know, if there’s ever a school dance to which you might wear pastels, it’s prom. it’s in the spring.

Lola looks great and so does her date.

Kelly and Mark met in 1995 when they played love interests Hayley and Mateo on the soap opera, All My Children.

The following year, they eloped. This past May 1 was the couple’s 22nd wedding anniversary.

In June of 1997, the couple welcomed their oldest child, Michael Joseph Consuelos.

(He is now old enough to drink, so, congrats on feeling super old if you remember when Kelly and Mark started dating; I sure do)

Lola Grace Consuelos came into the world on June 16, 2001. As we mentioned,s he will be 17 next Saturday.

Kelly is respectful of her daughter’s boundaries and gets her approval before she shares family photos that feature her, which is definitely the right thing to do.

On February 24, 2003, Kelly and Mark welcomed their youngest, Joaquin Antonio Consuelos.

Kelly has been described as one of the most powerful people in media, and that is not inaccurate.

She left the world of soap operas shortly after Lola was born and it was not long before she became one of the most recognizable daytime talkshow hosts.

In the mean time, her husband Mark has continued acting but been less visible than his virtually omnipresent wife.

Recently, he has been starring on the hit CW series Riverdale, where he plays Veronica Lodge’s father, Hiram P. Lodge.

Entertainingly, Lola has lamented that he’s a more permissive father on the show than he is in real life.

Kelly shares that Lola envies that Veronica, a fictional high school student, drinks mimosas with breakfast, while Mark and Kelly would allow nothing of the sort for their actual children.

Folks, the CW always features rampant underage drinking. But don’t worry; there’s always a three-to-five episode story arc in which someone tries a fictional drug, becomes addicted, overdoses, and then recovers.

That’s on just about every one of their shows. Gossip Girl or The Secret Circle or Arrow.

Some parents are afraid to let their children grow up, and they become uncomfortable at major life milestones.

Good for Kelly for being so excited and happy at her daughter’s prom. It’s a big deal.

And Lola looks so amazing. We’re thrilled that she gave her mom the go-ahead to share the pic.

It’s worth noting that a lot of the family’s graduation milestones, such as Joaquin’s just last year, happen to Fall on Lola’s birthday.

Megyn Kelly vs. Hoda Kotb Feud Heats Up at NBC!

When Megyn Kelly made the move from Fox News to NBC last year, everyone involved seemed well aware that they were in for an awkward transition.

But in all likelihood, no one had any idea of just how messy things would get.

Kelly has struggled to find an audience at her new network, and it seems it’s not just viewers that she’s struggling to connect with.

From the start of her time at NBC, reports of Kelly’s “diva-like” behavior have been circulating non-stop.

Insiders say she’s been alienating her co-workers since day one, and talk of firing Kelly is not uncommon in the NBC boardroom.

Yes, it seems Kelly hasn’t won anyone over in her first year at NBC, but there’s one co-worker who really isn’t buying what Megyn is selling.

In the wake of the Matt Lauer sex scandal, Hoda Kotb has emerged as the closest thing the Today franchise has to a rising star.

She’s taken Lauer’s place as one of the anchor’s of the programming block’s most popular segment and won over innumerable viewers.

And yet she’s still being paid less than a third of Kelly’s yearly salary.

Sources at the network tell In Touch Weekly that Hoda has made no secret of her disdain for Kelly, and the mutual enmity was on full display at the recent NBC Upfronts.

“Hoda and Savannah were standing close to each other and laughed as they exited the stage while Megyn fell back behind them,” said one onlooker at the press event.

“Hoda’s star has risen while Megyn’s has fallen,” the insider adds.

“She’s ready to exercise her newfound power by telling [Megyn] to get with the program. The feud has turned nasty.”

Yes, it seems Kotb’s issues with Kelly’s salary and personality are dwarfed by her concerns about the effect the former Fox News firebrand is having on the Today show brand.

“She’s the ultimate team player,” the source says of Kotb, adding that she’s widely regarded as “one of the kindest, most welcoming, and nonjudgmental people in show business.”

The insider concedes that Kotb is bothered by the fact that she makes a mere $ 7 million to Megyn’s $ 23 million, but her main issue is the fact that Kelly’s ratings have plummeted 11 percent in her first year as part of Today.

“She’s taken the high road publicly,” the insider says of Hoda.

But Kotb’s been at NBC long enough to know that what’s bad for one segment of Today is bad for the entire franchise.

So when asked by her bosses for an honest assessment of Megyn’s performance, Hoda offered exactly that:

“Megyn’s just not cutting it,” the source says bluntly.

“The top brass at NBC wanted to know where they went wrong with Megyn, and they’ve asked certain staffers what they should do,” the insider adds.

“Hoda was honest. She said it’s a likability problem. Megyn’s not relatable.” 

Despite what’s being described as a steadily escalating feud, both sides are reportedly keeping things civil in the workplace.

“Hoda and Megyn remain cordial to each other on camera, but they barely speak to each other once they’ve stopped rolling,” said the source.

“And Savannah is squarely on Team Hoda. It’s not looking like the tension will let up anytime soon between these three.”

Sounds like this situation will get uglier before it gets better.

Hey, if ratings continue to be an issue, maybe center a reality show spinoff on the backstage drama at Today?

R. Kelly: Sued for Alleged Sexual Battery, False Imprisonment

The allegations about R. Kelly’s sex cult house of horrors are enough to keep you up at night. And they just keep coming.

While the Time’s Up movement pushes to #MuteRKelly, yet another woman who says that she was one of his victims is speaking out.

In fact, she’s taking him to court.

In court documents filed in a New York lawsuit and obtained by E!, Faith Rodgers accuses Kelly of a number of things.

She says that he would lock her in secluded areas for extended periods of time as punishment.

She accuses him of “willfully, deliberately, and maliciously” infecting her with herpes.

R. Kelly is accused of recording her without her consent during sexual contact.

He is accused of both forceful and non-consensual sexual contact with Faith.

She also says that he inflicted mental, sexual, and verbal abuse upon her during their relationship, which spanned for nearly a year.

Faith’s attorney, Lydia C. Hills, explains why they filed this lawsuit in New York.

“The criminal investigation is still ongoing in the state of Texas.”

It comes down, in part, to jurisdiction.

“We have decided to file the civil suit in New York, as this is the location where the initial sexual contact and several other incidents took place.”

Faith herself shares her horrifying allegations about that initial contact, below.

“My goal is simply to obtain justice for my client, and hopefully, prevent this from happening to anyone else.”

They are seeking damages in a jury trial.

In an interview with CBS This Morning, Faith describes an upsetting-to-read encounter with R. Kelly that took place in New York.

“He turns on all the lights and he’s like, ‘Take off your clothes’ and he says it with authority in his voice.”

That is unsurprising from a man who is accustomed to having women obey his every command.

“I didn’t take off my clothes because why would I? I just wasn’t ready for sex.”

Unfortunately, he then forced non-consensual sex upon her, Faith alleges.

“He has this type of like intimidation right off the bat, so I was just waiting for it to be over.”

On top of that, she says that he did not warn her that he had herpes.

R. Kelly is accused of keeping women as “pets,” and we are all too familiar with accusations of him isolating them and depriving them of food.

Faith says that she got out before she was fully part of his traveling group of kept women.

She does, however, describe why she accuses him of false imprisonment.

She says that Kelly allegedly locked her in a car for eight hours.

Faith’s next words may send a chill down your spine as you take in the scope of R. Kelly’s alleged victims.

Faith believes that the abuse was all to prepare her to become another one of his “pets.”

“He goes on to tell me that he raises five women — some of them have been with him for 15 years and he basically was trying to make it seem like it was a family thing.”

Creepy. And those words are very familiar.

“Raising” is a word fans have heard before, in references to women whom R. Kelly allegedly “trained” since they were minors.

Including an alleged 14-year-old sex slave.

It sounds like some women have lost their entire lives to Kelly. Faith, at least, got away from what her life might have been with Kelly.

R. Kelly has always strongly denied the allegations against him.

Taylor Swift Was FEELING Kelly Clarkson"s Billboard Music Awards Show

The 2018 Billboard Music Awards were full of beautiful political statements and powerful performances.

But there were other, subtler moments that you may have missed if you glanced away. 

One of them featured Taylor Swift rocking out to her own music … as Kelly Clarkson performed it.

Kelly Clarkson has one hell of a voice, and she performed a medley of some of 2017"s biggest hits.

One of those hits, as you can see and hear in the video that we"ve included, is Taylor"s epic revenge song: "Look What You Made Me Do."

Taylor released the song as the single that led up to Reputation dropping.

The song itself parodies how she has been portrayed while also promising revenge against a number of her enemies.

Notably, she had been feuding with Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, and with Katy Perry.

When Kelly began singing Taylor"s lyrics, Taylor couldn"t help but sing along.

Taylor was situated in the audience between teen heartthrob Shawn Mendes and 21-year-old heartthrob Camla Cabello.

(Which pretty much makes Taylor the envy of the entire world, doesn"t it?)

In the video, we see Taylor mouth the lyrics while also posing — she can"t help but know that the camera will be on her while Kelly is singing her words.

She quickly loses her composure and bursts into laughter, however.

She was clearly enjoying her time at the awards show. And why shouldn"t she? She had the best-selling album of all of 2017.

Taylor was clearly living her best life.

She was practically joined at the hip with the beautiful Camila Cabello, with whom she has also recently performed during her massive concert tour for Reputation.

Now, being good buddies is all well and good, and we"re glad that Taylor was able to enjoy the music.

But she may have enjoyed some of the music a little too much.

See, when teen singing sensation Shawn Mendes took to the stage to perform "In My Blood," Taylor and Camila could not contain their enthusiasm.

A number of people — and their cameras — notice the two were standing to sway and dance to Shawn"s music.

Most notably … Darren Criss.

Criss recorded the humorous moment on his phone, saying "excuse me, miss" in a polite and certainly too-quiet-to-be-heard tone while showing that Taylor and Camila were obstructing his view.

He wanted to enjoy Shawn"s performance.

Probably because he has two ears and a heart.

Some fans asked why he didn"t also stand, but that would have been passing along the buck and essentially forcing the entire audience to stand.

That"s no fun.

But Taylor and Camila enjoyed their friend"s singing. That"s what matters.

Some artists get very touchy about covers by other artists.

Clearly, Taylor enjoyed Kelly Clarkson"s inclusion of her lyrics.

No medley of 2017 hits would feel right without Taylor"s music, and what better choice than her epic single that promised revenge on her enemies.

They say that success is the best revenge, so she"s already making good on that promise.
