Ariana Grande Memorial Concert: Who"s on Board?

Ariana Grande has talked the inspiring talk.

And now she’s about to walk the fundraising walk.

Just as she vowed she would do a few days ago in a moving statement, the artist has put together a concert in Manchester that won’t just honor the victims who died in last week’s nail bombing massacre…

… it will also raise money for their families.

As you very likely know by now, Grande had just finished a show in this same British city last Monday when tragedy struck.

A terrorist detonated an explosive that killed 22 attendees, while also injuring dozens and dozens more.

Grande rushed back to Florida to be with her family shortly after the attack, Tweeting that she was “broken” by what transpired and offering her heartfelt condolences to all affected by the massacre.

But the young artist then re-grouped and came up with a plan of action.

She will return to Manchester on June 4 for what is being titled the “One Love Manchester” concert.

And she’s bringing some famous friends along with her.

Here is what we now know about the special event:

– It will be held at the city’s Old Trafford cricket ground, which can seat over 76,000 people.

– Along with Grande, the following musicians are scheduled to perform: Justin Bieber, Take That, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Coldplay Niall Horan and Pharrell Williams.

– Those who attended the ill-fated May 22 concert can request free tickets to see the show.

– Regular tickets will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Manchester time this Thursday, June 1.

– All proceeds will go to an emergency fund set up by the city of Manchester and the British Red Cross to benefit the families of victims who perished in the bomb or victims who were injured in the attack.

In the wake of this unimaginable crime, many of the stars who will take to the stage in Manchester Tweeted their support and prayers.

“Broken hearted for the families tonight. Broken hearted for Ari. Broken hearted for the state of this world,” wrote Perry, while Bieber added:

“#PrayforManchester.”

Wrote Coldplay last week: “sending all of our Love to all those affected by last night’s tragedy in manchester.”

Cyrus, meanwhile, dedicated the following performance on The Voice to everyone associated with this bombing:

Grande has canceled all European tour dates up through June 7; it’s unclear right now if she’ll take the stage in Paris that night as initially planned.

But here is a portion of what she wrote on Friday, as she announced this tribute concert and made fans out of pretty much every person on the planet:

My heart, prayers and deepest condolences or with the victims of the Manchester Attack and their loved ones. There is nothing I or anyone can do to take away the pain you are feeling or to make this better.

However, I extend my hand and heart and everything I possibly can give to you and yours, should you want or need my help in any way…

Music is something that everyone on Earth can share. Music is meant to heal us, to bring us together, to make us happy. So that is what it will continue to do for us.

We will continue in honor of the ones we lost, their loved ones, my fans and all affected by this tragedy.

They will be on my mind and in my heart everyday and I will think of them with everything I do for the rest of my life.

Amen, Ariana.

May they all rest in peace.

Vicki Gunvalson SLAMMED for Memorial Day Tweet

Vicki Gunvalson is the longest serving housewife in The Real Housewives franchise and for a good reason. She can do pretty much anything and feel the ire of everyone around her.

Her latest drama stemmed from a memorial day post on Twitter in which she used the word “happy” as part of the post.

“Remembering all the fallen soldiers this weekend. Happy Memorial Day,” Vicki Gunvalson shared to her followers, but she clearly did not bank on being trashed by people on the internet.

“You’re not supposed to say Happy.. there is nothing about Memorial Day that is happy,” one person replied to Vicki’s tweet, while another said, “I feel it may be inappropriate to say Happy Memorial Day. We are talking about men and women who lost their lives.”

The internet is filled with differing opinions, and that’s part of the reason why Twitter is so popular. People love to become embroiled in heated debates.

The negative comments continued to flood in, with another user saying, “Happy is not the correct word for a somber day of reflection,” another person wrote to Vicki Gunvalson, while a fourth person added, “Not a single thing ‘happy’ about those people who died fighting for your country.”

Later, Vicki omitted “Happy” from the post, but did not apologize to the people trashing her. She merely continued with her day and did not let it faze her.

It seems that anything Vicki does, drama is not far behind and that’s likely why the producers of The Real Housewives of Orange County keep signing her back up.

Drama is the thing that makes reality TV worthwhile, and while Vicki may not be as controversial as she once was, she still has a legion of fans.

The new season of the Bravo smash is currently being filmed, but some fans have questioned whether Gunvalson met up with her ex, Brooks Ayers.

If you watch The Real Housewives of Orange County online, you will no doubt remember him as the man that doctored some documents to imply to everyone that he was receiving treatment for cancer.

Vicki’s name was dragged through the mud, with some of her cast members questioning whether Vicki knew all along that her squeeze was talking smack.

Vicki fought tooth and nail to let her co-stars know she did not have anything to do with it, but still, it’s easy to assume Vicki had something to do with it.

So much drama was constructed from it for the cameras, but Vicki wants everyone to know that she did not meet up with Brooks while in Cabo.

“Why would I? He’s moved on and so have I! We broke up 2 years ago,” Gunvalson wrote after learning of the sensational rumor.

In another response, Vicki was not as nice.

“Excuse me?? I was with my girlfriends, and he was NOT there! Get ur facts straight,” Vicki replied, apparently irate.

The thing that makes all of this more controversial is that Vicki has allegedly been with a new man for around one year, so it would certainly call that new relationship into question.

What do you think about all of this? Was Vicki’s comment too far?

Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds Honored in Touching Public Memorial

It may seem difficult to believe, but it’s been three months now since Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds died.

Absolutely heartbreaking, right?

On December 23rd, Carrie was on a flight to L.A. when she suffered a massive heart attack. When paramedics were able to get to her on the airport, she was unresponsive.

She remained in the hospital for a few days, but on December 27th, she passed away.

The very next day, Carrie’s mother, the legendary Debbie Reynolds, died after suffering a stroke.

Intense, right? And so very, very heartbreaking.

Carrie and Debbie had a joint funeral in January for family and friends: Carrie was cremated with her ashes placed in an urn shaped like a Prozac pill, and Debbie was buried along with some of Carrie’s ashes.

But today, a public memorial was held for them both at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in L.A.

And it was so, so touching.

The event was organized by Todd Fisher, Carrie’s brother and Debbie’s son.

In a speech to the audience, Todd explained that “When Carrie died, my mother decided to change her plans a bit.”

“My mother always said to me, ‘I never want to go to my daughter’s funeral service. I would like to be buried with Carrie."”

“I didn’t know she was going to leave us the very next day,” he said, “and when she looked at me to ask permission to leave, she said she wanted to be with Carrie, and she closed her eyes and went to sleep.”

“It was a beautiful exit.”

The service featured music composed by John Williams, as well as performances by the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles and dancers from Debbie Reynolds’ dance studio.

Dan Aykroyd, Carrie’d one-time fiancé, provided the closing remarks.

James Blunt wrote a song for the occasion — he was a close friend of Carrie’s, close enough that he chose her to be the godmother of his child.

In an earlier interview, Todd said that “The last lyric in the song, it’s a beautiful song, is ‘I’m here to let you know. I’m here to let you go."”

“And it’s powerful.”

Todd’s also explained that he wanted to hold a special service for the public because “That’s how my mother would want it.”

He explained that “She was very connected to her fans and felt they were part of her, so we’re opening it to the public.”

After the memorial service, fans were able to visit Debbie and Carrie’s graves.

What an incredible loss, but still, what a touching tribute to these two legendary ladies.

Carrie Fisher Honored, Celebration at Star-Studded, Emotional Memorial

A day ahead of being laid to rest, Carrie Fisher was honored and celebrated on Thursday afternoon.

The late Star Wars actress, who died of a heart attack on December 27, was memorialized by friends, family members and loved ones at her home in Beverly Hills.

On Friday, she will be laid to rest at a joint funeral with her mother, Debbie Reynolds, who tragically died within 24 hours of her daughter passing away.

According to People Magazine, the decision to host Fisher’s memorial at her home was made by her only child, 24-year old Billie Lourd.

The location was sentimental and relevant because Fisher used to host laid back, star-studded gatherings herself at this same residence (which formally belonged to Bette Davis and costume designer Edith Head.)

“Billie wanted the people her mother loved to gather in that living room one last time,” an insider explained to People.

Relatives in attendance included Fisher’s brother, Todd; her half-sisters Joely Fisher and Tricia Leigh Fisher; and Billie’s father, Bryan Lourd.

Fisher’s beloved therapy dog, a French Bulldog named Gary, was also there.

Overall, approximately 125 guests stopped by to pay tribute to Fisher.

They included:

Penny Marshall, Meg Ryan, Richard Dreyfuss, Buck Henry, Candice Bergen, George Lucas and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Eulogies were delivered by Lourd, Meryl Streep, Tracey Ullman, author Bruce Wagner, comedian Stephen Fry and security expert Gavin de Becker.

“All the tributes circled back to Billie and how much Carrie loved her,” this same source told People.

Mourned dined on fried chicken, collard greens and cornbread.

“The only things missing were Carrie and Debbie,” said the friend, who had been to many of the aforementioned Fisher-hosted parties.

“Debbie would sit in the corner, and everyone there would come up and pay homage. Even the biggest stars were starstruck by her.

“Carrie would walk around barefoot with a can of Coca-Cola, making sure everyone was having a good time, saying the funniest things you’ve ever heard.”

Fisher has already been cremated.

On Friday, Reynolds will be buried along with some of her daughter’s ashes.

The joint funeral will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles.

While many tears flowed at the memorial, Streep performed Fisher’s favorite song, “Happy Days Are Here Again” and there was an effort made to truly celebrate Fisher’s life as well.

“By the end,” says the family friend, “Everyone was singing.”

We continue to send our condolences to everyone who knew and loved both Fisher and Reynolds.
