Last week’s season 7 premiere of Teen Mom 2 featured a segment that’s earned Leah Messer an incredible amount of online criticism from fans of the show.
The scene in question shows Leah appearing to deny her daughters breakfast before rushing them off to school.
The unflattering portrayal came on the heels of a tabloid report claiming that Leah is a hoarder who lives in squalor with her three children.
Now it seems the negative press may have finally gotten to be too much for the 23-year-old West Virginia native, who slammed the show’s producers on Twitter over the weekend and at one point appeared to offer them an ultimatum:
“I hope to continue to share my story but I REFUSE to allow it to be twisted for the benefit of a NETWORK!” a clearly enraged Leah wrote.
Messer has been defending herself against constant claims that she’s an unfit mother ever since the episode aired, and it seems she’s finally had enough.
Fans responded to her social media tirade by basically daring her to quit the show that made her famous, many of them using the hashtag “#DontBitetheHandThatFeedsYou.”
Obviously, we have no way of knowing if the show’s editing staff is making Leah look like a worse mom than she actually is, but it’s one thing to fume against producers on Twitter, and quite another to actually walk away from a lucrative TV deal and apply for a position at the local Wal-Mart.
Watch Teen Mom 2 online to re-live the very bumpy road that’s brought Leah to this point.
