Candace Cameron Bure: Feuding with Drag Queen Over Homophobic Remark?!

The idea of Candace Cameron Bure getting schooled by a drag queen is absolutely delightful, right?

And even though we’re sharing this news on April Fool’s Day, it’s definitely real.

It just goes to show you that sometimes the world is an OK place where good things happen. And let’s be honest, we need that right now.

This whole mess started because of that photo of Candace above, the one in which she’s wearing the “Not Today, Satan” shirt.

The phrase has been around for a while, but it’s recently gotten a boost in popularity thanks to Bianca Del Rio, legendary drag queen and winner of season six of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Bianca used it as a catchphrase on the show, and these days it’s heavily associated with her, so much so that she’s currently on tour — the Not Today Satan tour.

So when Bianca saw that Candace was wearing the shirt, she reposted it, along with the caption “IF ONLY THIS HOMOPHOBIC REPUBLICAN KNEW………”

And that’s when the feud really kicked off.

Bianca is, of course, referring to Candace’s controversial views. While she’s never been as openly homophobic as her brother, Kirk Cameron, she’s definitely rubbed people the wrong way plenty of times.

For instance, Candace famously defended that Oregon bakery’s decision to refuse to provide service to a gay couple, remember that?

She also holds a lot of the same beliefs as the Duggar family, so … you know what that means.

Hint: it means nothing good.

So it’s understandable that Bianca would be a little rattled by Candace wearing this shirt, right?

But it turns out that Candace was rattled herself by Bianca’s reaction.

She left a comment for her saying as much, asking “Why do you have to be so nasty to me?”

“You don’t know me or my heart,” Candace wrote. “I’m not homophobic and always sad when people think otherwise. Loving Jesus doesn’t mean I hate gay people or anyone.”

“You sent a bunch of hateful people to my page writing horrible things. I hope next time you’ll spread love and kindness, even when you disagree with people.”

She finished with “Sending you love and wishing you all the best.”

Bianca reposted her response as well, along with the hashtags “Live Your Life,” “Love Jesus,” and “Republican Pride.”

Are you sensing sarcasm? Because it seems like she’s being a little sarcastic here.

And so this is how we’re now living in a world in which Candace Cameron is in the middle of a nasty feud with a drag queen.

#Blessed.

Candace Cameron Bure Says Goodbye to The View

Here’s a free idea for producers at The View:

Get rid of all doors leading out to the stage and install a turnstyle instead.

This would seem to be more appropriate, considering the constant cast changes on this morning talk show.

Just over a month after Raven-Symone announced her departure as a full-time panelist, Candace Cameron Bure has gone ahead and done the same.

Yup, it’s time for yet another farewell, viewers.

A mother of three who has been with The View for fewer than two seasons, the actress was one of the few religious and conservative voices on the series.

She referred to her leaving as a “little bittersweet” this morning when informing the audience of why she was parting ways with the program.

“It wasn’t an easy decision,” Bure explained, going into further detail as follows:

“Before I started The View, I had already had my commitments to Fuller House and my work with the Hallmark Channel…Because of the success of those, my commitments have become even greater with those shows.”

Bure was named a co-host of The View in 2015… while simultaneously filming her spinoff sitcom for Netflix.

Her View contract was renewed for Season 20 this year, yet Fuller House was also picked up for a second season. And it’s just become too much for the star to juggle.

In addition to a a serious work load, Bure also attributed her departure to having to travel between both coasts on a regular basis.

She’s not complaining. She has a great life. But that kind of thing takes its toll.

“The commute of going west coast to east coast every single week for me has been tough on me and hard for my family as well,” she said on air.

“I want to make sure that I am able to spend as much time with my children.”

So here we go again.

There’s now a spot open on The View panel once more.

Bure went on this morning to express her gratitude to the women at the helm of the team.

“I thank everybody – Whoopi [Goldberg], Joy [Behar]…for welcoming me to this table. I’ve learned so much from you and I’m so grateful for you.

“I tried to be superwoman, but I’m going to not try anymore.”

Executive Producer Candi Carter said the following via statement:

On behalf of everyone at ‘The View,’ it’s been a pleasure working with Candace, a devoted mother, talented actress, and passionate co-host who never hesitated to speak her mind.

We are thrilled for her success with ‘Fuller House’ and her Hallmark movies.

She will always be a part of ‘The View’ family and we will gladly welcome her back to the show to support her with all of her endeavors.

Cameron Dallas Just Slut-Shamed Jessca Alba at the Teen Choice Awards

Someone named Cameron Dallas owes Jessica Alba a major apology.

The quasi celebrity tried to make a name for himself at the 2016 Teen Choice Awards on Sunday night, accepting the surfboard for Social Media King and then trying to be all witty afterward.

Playing a quick (and random) game of “Would You Rather” backstage, Dallas was asked whose toothbrush he would prefer to use, that of Justin Timberlake or that of Jessica Alba.

He chose Justin Timberlake.

Which, you know, sure, whatever, cool, fine.

But then he gave his reasoning for this selection.

“I would honestly choose Justin Timberlake just because I don’t know where Jessica’s been,” Dallas says, just trying to make a joke, we guess.

But what kind of joke is that?!? The kind where Jessica Alba is all gross and promiscuous?!?

Not that she needs our defense in any way, shape or form, but for the record:

Alba has been married to Cash Warren since 2008. She has two kids with her husband. There has not been a single rumor of infidelity in their eight-plus years of marriage.

But whatever.

Who is Cameron Dallas to make any sort of disparaging remark about any woman’s sexual past no matter what?!?

Making this matter even worse?

Alba led a tribute at the Teen Choice Awards to the victims of gun violence across America.

So while Cameron Dallas was being a sexist fool, Jessica Alba was being an inspiring activist, as you can see below.

@camerondallas what gives you the idea that it’s okay to slut shame Jessica Alba on live tv. Your publicist will have fun with this one. – @dacissej

And the Internet took notice.

Here are a handful of reactions to Dallas’ unfunny joke:

I’m offended on behalf of Jessica Alba after hearing Cameron Dallas at the #TeenChoiceAwards #TeenChoice – @kelseyncastro

@camerondallas what gives you the idea that it’s okay to slut shame Jessica Alba on live tv. Your publicist will have fun with this one. – @dacissej

Where has @jessicaalba been, @camerondallas? Running a multi-million dollar company and raising a family. Punk. – @lindsayraedenn

Clearly aware of all the backlash he was receiving, Dallas jumped on Twitter last night and wrote the following:

Yo it was literally a joke, I love @jessicaalba and would share a toothbrush with her till I die lol. Really thankful for the message @jessicaalba spoke tonight, that’s what we should focus on.

Yes, we know it was a joke.

And we don’t doubt you are sorry, dude.

But it was a joke rooted in sexism. That’s the entire point.

Cameron Douglas: Released From Jail After Nearly 7 Years

Cameron Douglas is a free man.

Finally.

The son of veteran actor Michael Douglas has been released from prison after spending nearly seven yeas behind bars.

He was sentenced for possession of heroin and selling methamphetamine in 2010.

At that time, Cameron was sentenced to a five-year prison term. However, he later confessed to smuggling drugs into prison, which resulted in an extension of the initial term, along with two years in solitary confinement.

(This means Cameron was at least spared the sight of his father in that abysmal Wall Street sequel!)

The troubled 38-year old also had his leg broken in a prison brawl in 2012 after a New York City crime boss put a $ 100 bounty on his head because he allegedly acted like a “rat.”

Michael’s son was scheduled to be released in 2018, but is now living in a halfway house in Brooklyn, New York.

Cameron Douglas is the son of Michael and his ex-wife, Diandra Douglas; they divorced in 2000 after 23 years of marriage.

Michael Douglas now, of course, is married to Catherine Zeta-Jones.

To his credit, Michael Douglas has never been shy about his child’s troubled.

He opened up about his son’s incarceration during his Emmy Awards acceptance speech in 2013 when he earned the trophy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries for Behind the Candelabra.

“My oldest son, Cameron, I’m hoping I’ll be able and they’ll allow me to see him soon,” an emotional Michael told the crowd.

After he stepped off the stage, Douglas told journalists the following backstage:

“My son is in federal prison. He’s been a drug addict for a large part of his life.

“Part of the punishments – if you happen to have a slip, and this is for a prisoner who is nonviolent, as about a half-million of our drug-addicted prisoners are – he’s spent almost two years in solitary confinement and right now I’m being told that I cannot see him for two years…

“It’s been over a year now. And I’m questioning the system. Obviously at first, I was certainly disappointed in my son. But I’ve reached a point now where I’m very disappointed with the system.”

While behind bars, Cameron wrote an op-ed for The Huffington Post.

In the honest piece, he confessed to making many mistakes … and also called for prison reforms for nonviolent offenders.

“Somehow, with the astronomical rate of recidivism, largely due to drug violations, no one seems to comprehend that tossing individuals desperate for skills to cope with addiction behind bars, no matter for how long a period of time, does absolutely nothing but temporarily deter them from succumbing to their weakness,” he wrote, concluding:

Instead of focusing on how many individuals this county can keep imprisoned, why can we not focus on how many individuals we can keep from coming back?

Kirk Cameron Delivers God"s Message, Gives Crap Marriage Advice

Oh good.  Kirk Cameron is pushing his fanatical beliefs on us. Again.

For some reason, people find the Growing Pain star’s “advice” useful.

I find it a little insane.

This time, the Christian Evangelist is spreading the word on what makes a solid union as part of his national marriage tour (a real thing, I assure you).

Cameron gave The Christian Post excellent sound bites that are sure to be taken to heart by all who read the word of Mike Seaver.

So, who wants to improve their relationship?

“Wives are to honor and respect and follow their husband’s lead, not to tell their husband how he ought to be a better husband,” Cameron explained.

“When each person gets their part right, regardless of how their spouse is treating them, there is hope for real change in their marriage.”

“A lot of people don’t know that marriage comes with instructions.

“And, we find them right there in God’s word.”

The Christian Post clarifies Cameron’s statements by suggesting he may be referring to a Bible passage:

“Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.”  Colossians 3:18-19

The actor’s younger sister, Candace Cameron-Bure also subscribes to the same belief that wives are to submit to their husbands.

“The definition I’m using with the word ‘submissive’ is the biblical definition of that,” Cameron-Bure wrote in her 2014 book, Balancing It All: My Story of Juggling Priorities and Purpose.

“So, it is meekness, it is not weakness. It is strength under control, it is bridled strength.

“And that’s what I choose to have in my marriage.”

Michelle Duggar & Candace Cameron Bure: What Controversial Practice Do They Share in Common?

With the highly-anticipated sequel series Fuller House premiering on Netlfix today, former child star Candace Cameron Bure is back in the spotlight in a big way.

Unlike her co-stars Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber, Bure never fully stepped away from the spotlight, and in her current role as a panel member on ABC’s The View, she espouses conservative Christian beliefs that frequently put her at odds with her more liberal co-hosts.

But while she’s remained a public figure in the years since the series that made her famous was canceled, Bure’s return to acting has brought her a level of fame that she hasn’t known since Full House was at the height of its popularity – and with it has come intense scrutiny and criticism of some of her more controversial views.

Specifically, Bure’s child-rearing methods have come under fire recently, as the 39-year-old mother of 3 has been condemned for supporting Michael and Debi Pearl – parenting gurus who support the use of corporal punishment.

In a 2004 blog post that was recently deleted, Bure wrote:

“The books that guideline raising our children are the Bible, Shepherding a Child’s Heart by Tedd Tripp and To Train Up a Child by Michael & Debi Pearl. My parenting tip of the day is consistency; it’s key.”

The Pearls’ parenting advice first gained mainstream attention when it was revealed that they inspired Michelle Duggar to adopt “blanket training” as a method of disciplining her kids.

The controversial technique involves placing a young child on a blanket and striking them when they move from it.

A 2011 New York Times article links the Pearls’ teachings with multiple deaths.

The renewed focus on Bure’s personal life has led critics to link the actress to the Duggars’ more scandalous beliefs and practices.

In the book that Bure endorsed on her blog, Michael Pearl advocates disciplining children with “the same principles the Amish use to train their stubborn mules.”

In the build-up to her return to scripted television, Bure has refused to comment on her connection with the Pearls and the Duggars.

Michael Campion (on the left) is playing D.J.’s oldest son Jackson, who is the troublemaker of the bunch! Taking after his Uncle Jesse (John Stamos), he plays guitar and is quite the ladies man! Have mercy!

Jackson’s little brother Max, played by Elias Harger (right) is inquisitive and smart, taking after grandpa Danny (Bob Saget)! D.J. will also have an infant son.

Completing the house’s fullness is Kimmy Gibbler’s half-hispanic daughter Ramona (Soni Bringas, below), who blames Kimmy for breaking up with her father!

Wow, sounds like these kids will have plenty of shenanigans to get into — and, of course, learn Full House-esque lessons in the end, of course! (Cue the piano!)

Candace Cameron Bure Defends "Sinner" Justin Bieber

Candace Cameron Bure is standing up for Justin Bieber.

The singer recently gave an in-depth interview to Complex, talking in part to the magazine about his devotion to Jesus Christ.

But how does this square with the many mistakes Bieber has also made over the years?

“When someone says they’re a Christian, it doesn’t mean they’re perfect," Bure explained to her The View co-panelists this week.

"They are just a recognized sinner in need of God’s grace. And that’s all Justin is saying. He recognizes that.”

Bieber has acknowledged the mishaps that dominated headlines in 2014 and that caused his reputation to take a major hit. He"s been trying to make up for them for awhile now, holding special concerts for very special people and taking responsibility for various indiscretions.

"He’s not going to pretend he didn’t do stupid things in the past," Bure added.

"I’m sure he’s gonna make a ton of mistakes from here on out, but he has the chance to make good decisions and we should applaud him and encourage him to continue.”

Watch her defense of Bieber in this video and see how her fellow View hosts respond.

Candace Cameron Bure Reacts To The Nurse Controversy On The View — We"ve Got The Deets On What She Said!

She would’ve been so interesting on this topic!

Candace Cameron Bure wasn’t on the panel the day hosts from The View made their controversial comments about nurses, but now we at least know how Candace would’ve handled it had she been there!

Related: Advertisers Keep Pulling Out From The View After The Controversy!

Speaking out at a pre-Emmys party, Candace said of the nurse controversy, and whether she dodged a bullet by missing it:

“I did dodge a bullet although I wish I were there because I would have had some other words to say, which were how much I appreciate nurses. We couldn’t do what they do. Doctors couldn’t do what they do without the nurses. I’m so appreciative and grateful of nurses. I kind of let [the ladies] sort it out because you don’t want to come in and go ‘Oh, I’m going to be the hero and the good person over all of this’ because I think it was an unfortunate mistake. They were trying to make a joke that didn’t quite go over well in the talent department and it wasn’t to say that nurses aren’t talented.”

There is one thing that she liked, though — bringing nurses on to make amends after the controversy hit! Candace said:

“I’m glad they brought all of the nurses back on and they gave an apology to them and they celebrated them and that’s exactly what they should have done. I wish I were there and I could of genuinely apologized to them and told them how much I appreciate them because I truly mean it. I’ve been with so many nurses and I understand what they go through,” she explained. “I’ve said sometimes a nurse is the only ray of sunshine that you see in a day when you’re at a hospital.”

Well there you go! Wanna see it all in real time? Ch-ch-check out the video of the interview (below)!

What do U think about Candace’s take on the controversial nurse comments??
